The video below shows 21-year-old Scout Schultz slowly, repeatedly advancing on two Georgia Tech campus police officers, reportedly while holding a knife. If you listen closely, Schultz can be heard telling the officers, “Shoot me.” After repeated warnings, one officer shot Schultz center mass, killing him.

Schultz’s parents are questioning why the responding officers didn’t use de-escalation tactics. As dailymail.co.uk reports,

They have hired trial attorney L Chris Stewart to represent them ahead of the investigation into Schultz’s death, which came after they were filmed walking toward police – who issued several warnings to drop what the cops believed was a knife.

Footage of the tense encounter shows the student walking closer and closer to the police officers and shouting ‘Shoot me!’

‘Nobody wants to hurt you,’ one of the cops can be heard saying before a shot rings out and Schultz crumples to the ground, screaming out in pain.

The officers haven’t been identified and it isn’t clear yet whether or not they were carrying less-lethal weapons such as TASERs or were trained in de-escalation tactics.

Stewart will hold a press meeting Monday, in which he is expected to question whether the officers involved had training for dealing with mentally ill students.

It’s unclear what mental illness Schultz may have suffered from.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken over investigation of the shooting.

[His] father, Bill, wrote about the shooting on Facebook and said Schultz had a ‘tiny knife.’

‘[Police] didn’t have to shoot [Scout] in the heart, but that’s what they did,’ he wrote.

The distraught parents are now considering legal options.

    • Good thing they didn’t use a taser or pepper spray. Wouldn’t want deescalate a perfectly good chance to shoot someone.

      • “Deescalation” has become a popular buzzword lately. There’s only so much that you can do to deescalate someone who wants to die. Tasers and pepper spray certainly help, but, are not a sure man stopper. Also, not every officer or even every department has tasers. Keep in mind we’re probably not getting the full, accurate story yet.

        • No man stopper needed. This is was not a man. Nor was it a woman. It claimed to be a….non-binary intersex…something or other. Tazer, mace, a baton to the arm…take your pick. Any of these would have likely left this kid whimpering on the ground.

I’m usually in the cops corner and give them benefit of the doubt when faced with a dangerous armed individual. This wasn’t some street savvy thug who might get the drop on you in a fight. This was a thin-armed metrosexual college dork with a closed multi-tool, walking towards them, not running. His/her arms straight down. They likely could have taken down the kid pretty easily with any number of non-lethal methods.

Sure the kid is to blame for putting himself/herself/whatever in a potentially fatal situation, seemingly deliberately. But the kids fate was sealed by some cops that were either poorly trained, or just scared to fight. Or both.

        • I did not hear fear in the voices of those cops. I heard calm and professional entreaties for the student to put down his knife and talk about his problem.

It’s as though no one here has ever heard of the Tueller Drill. Those cops were not afraid to fight, they were afraid of being stabbed to death by an obviously mentally unstable person doing everything he could to force them to shoot him. If you insist on advancing on police with a weapon of any sort why is it their responsibility NOT to kill you? I would have shot the punk in a heartbeat. Counselling is what the staff of the college is for, not the Campus Police.

Kudos to the officers for using only the amount of force necessary to “stop he threat”. In New York or too many other places this video would have shown a double mag-dump.

        • Sorry, Frank, but you are the archetypal armchair quarterback.
It’s extremely easy to follow the bouncing ball of after-the-fact ‘reporting’ and describe the attacker in such terms. But if you put yourself in the shoes of the police, you get an extremely different picture: someone (who? They don’t know) advancing on them in a very determined fashion with a knife, and they know that knife can deliver a deadly wound in a very few seconds if the assailant gets within just a few feet. It’s not just how to deal with the assailant, but how to defend your life.
If you’ve never been in that situation (and few of us have), it’s very hard to understand what goes through the mind of a LEO faced with that situation.
But we can try, and not just see one side of the situation.

      • Tasers don’t always work and some departments don’t issue them. If the suspect was drunk or on cocaine or PCP then odds are that it wouldn’t work. Same with pepper spray,it doesn’t work that well if the suspect is altered.

        • I can’t imagine a more ideal situation for taser deployment than this mixed up kid. If I ran across him/her prior to the cops arriving he would have been shortly disarmed and remained healthy, ready to be hauled off to the Psych Ward by the time the cops got there.

LEOs are really becoming danger averse.

        • Bullets, sure. Alive (not well) and ready to begin tens of thousands worth of “counseling (coughbullsitcough)” before doing it again with a bigger knife, a gun or a bomb. The thing (whatever) was FUBAR, asked quite clearly for exactly what he got. So we should blame a cop? I don’t think so.

  1. I find it darkly humorous that the U.K. media is downplaying that he/she/it had a knife when they treat knives like weapons of mass destruction on the other side the pond. The non-binary person was acting like a drugged out zombie, hard to blame the cops for not wanting to let him/her/xe/lmnopq get close.

  2. “Nobody here wants to hurt you”

    Obviously

I get that someone approaching you with a knife is a serious threat but in this case if he actually did tell them to shoot him, he was minimal danger to the cops, the knife was just a prop to elicit the exact response he got.

It was suicide by cop and they played right into it.

    • Oh and seriously, do cops not carry Tonfa anymore? Got way more reach with one of those than a little knife like that. He was outnumbered, he looks like a soft little poof that would cry over a hangnail. I bet he would have been in the fetal position before they even got to him if they just charged him like fucking vikings, clubs drawn.

    • Obviously it was suicide by cop. The question is how far would the deceased have gone im pursuit of that objective.

You concede that being approached by someone with a knife is serious, but that because he demanded to be shot the threat was minimal. Well, how far was he willing to advance? Minimally serious, then? Whatever that means. Well, how close must the officers allow the assailant to advance toward them before firing? How many bystanders must be in harm’s way before they shut this show down?

Simply put: when would you have pulled the trigger as a knife wielding maniac ambles toward you, and why is your arbitrary line in the sand demonstrably better and safer overall than the line these officers’ chose?

      • Me, personally? Way before they did. I’m not a cop. They have a duty to preserve life and could have taken him down without firearms.

        • Police have no duty to protect.

          Warren v. District of Columbia
          Gonzales (2005)

Doesn’t matter what their logo is, or what people have been lead to believe, the courts have ruled in and said ‘no duty to protect individual citizens’.

  3. Hmmm maybe they should be asking themselves why their son never used de-escalating tactics like dropping the knife. Clearly they think they are smarter than the police officers, why didn’t they share their smarts with their son by educating him?

    Elitist just want to elite….

  4. Let me get this straight. Tabloid from country where local PD confiscate butterknives as deadly weapons and where a Swiss knife may lead to jail sentence write about “tiny” knife in the video description?

  5. Not only is it inappropriate to advance on officers with a knife, it is also inappropriate (illegal, dangerous, and etc.) to advance on anyone with a knife. The dangers are compounded on a crowded college campus. This young man represented a very high level of danger.

  6. It’s unclear what mental illness he suffered from? Well, he claimed to be transgender, and referred to himself as they? And seemed to have wanted to commit suicide by cop…

    • Some medical professionals claim that transgender beliefs are in fact a delusion…”an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder.”

  7. like his dad said, it was a tiny knife and we all know tiny knives can’t REALLY cut you, ya know cuz its not like surgeons use tiny knives everyday to cut people open.

  8. Unfortunately, political correctness forbids us from delving into what the cause or type of mental illness he had. He was a so-called “transgender”, so even suggesting that he may have been even slightly odd in his thinking means you’re a bigot.
At some point, the alphabet advocacy groups are going to have to face the fact that one particular subset of their group is reliably suicidal… And no one is allowed to ask why.

      • From the Huffpost

“According to a 2015 U.S. Transgender Survey Report that surveyed 27,715 transgender people across the U.S., 40 percent of respondents reported having attempted suicide in their lifetime. That percentage is nearly nine times the overall attempted suicide rate in the U.S., which was 4.6 percent.”

        • The most unfortunate part of that statistic: 40% of the SURVIVORS report attempting suicide, the statistic does not include the number that “succeeded”.
This high number continues even if the subject follows through with surgical mutilation to complete his “transition” – clearly the problem is not and never was in the genitals, it is all in the head… and researchers are forbidden by political correctness from asking why.

  9. I’ve got sympathy for the Devil but none for this guy.

Advancing on someone with a blade is a deadly threat. He was asked repeatedly to drop the knife and he didn’t. Without knowing his intentions, which is impossible, it is altogether acceptable to assume that he intends to harm someone when he’s walking around with a knife asking to be shot. A person who does such a thing may well escalate the situation and attack someone to provoke the response they desire (getting shot). Having someone get stabbed over this is dumb. If he’s gonna act this way, give him what he’s asking for before someone else gets hurt and the guy gets what he “wants” anyway.

Sorry, when you ask to get perforated you might just get perforated and you may not live to tell the tale. It’s that simple.

As for deescalating the situation, I’d say the cops did a fine job. The threat level was deescalated and so was the suspect, when he hit the ground.

    • The LEO’s also retreated several times – and I’m guessing a couple more times before this video footage began.

As for those howling “but it was a tiny knife!” – remember how many people bin Laden’s boys killed with nothing but box cutters. People are killed in prisons all the time with little more than a sharpened toothbrush handle. If the cops can show that he was clearly brandishing a knife and advancing upon them, well, the law is pretty clear about this: A knife is considered a lethal weapon, even small knives, and the LEO’s had reasonable fear for officer safety.

Furthermore, this was a competent shooting. One shot, the suspect goes down. No more shots, no wild shooting, no mag dumps, just one competently aimed shot.

From what I’m seeing here, there’s really nothing much to discuss about the LEO performance. These officers were a model of restraint, disciplined response (notice how the two officers who were in the frame at the start diverged from each other – also NB how the officer most visible in frame put the traffic barrier between him and the suspect), marksmanship, scene control, etc.

Just from what we see in the video, this overwhelmingly appears to be “suicide by cop.”

  10. The shockingly large number of under-trained (and/or easily startled) police is eventually going to harm the case for concealed carry. (“If the cops can’t be trusted not to shoot a messed up, but low-threat kid, how can we trust the average person.”)
Tech Campus Police clearly don’t have enough training to carry guns.
Why was their first move to unholster firearms? If there had been only one officer on scene, I could have better understood it.
Once the young person failed to submit to that ultimate display of dominance, things went downhill fast.
I understand that’s a really bad part of Atlanta (what isn’t?), but this should’ve been deescalated until (I hope, but don’t count on) better-trained APD officers arrived.
P.S. I understand that I’m Monday morning quarterbacking, but so are the squishy middle voters.

    • I agree

Read above post about a savage clubbin’.

Threat eliminated, he gets a good message about being dumb and everyone lives. A cop may get a non-life threatening cut (as long as they’re not completely inept) but they’re the “ones to run towards danger” right?

Pull a knife on someone, go Rodney Fucking King on his ass, I’m cool with that. Shooting him was unnecessary.

      • Based on your comment here I’m gonna guess you’ve never had someone pull a knife on you and try to use it or come at you with it.

      • Also, how would the parents have reacted against a “Rodney King?” I suspect that they would respnd in a very similar way to a beat down on tape.

The “but for” here is the unreasonable action of the deceased.

    • Obviously you are not a police officer. I am glad because I would hate to have a partner like you, second guessing if I am going to go home at the end of the shift.

This is not a hostage negotiation, this was suicide by cop, plain and simple. If you were a police officer you would understand these things. Go back and play your Call of Duty.

    • Oh and by the way, these police officers are trained by the state and Georgia POST. Just to show you don’t know what are you talking about.

    • If police were all trained to be operators like in the movies maybe. Which could theoretically be done… but then you’d bitch about the trillions of tax payer dollars it would cost to train every officer like that.

    • You don’t need elite training to club the dogshit out of a pansy. Cops have been doing it for decades, why is this different?

      • I don’t disagree. But thanks to liberalization of police a lot of that old school shit has been weeded out of police training and mentality. Back in the day, there were plenty of officers that were tough brutes, who could man handle just about anyone with a club. But decades of feminization, equal opportunity, and political correctness have destroyed that.

  11. It would appear that 115 grains of lead penetrating his chest cavity was a pretty damned effective de-escalation tactic.

I sympathize with the kid’s parents, but this was suicide by cop and if it didn’t work he would have tried suicide by some other means until successful.

  12. Either the parents are stupid or ignorant. The police tried to deescalate the situation. I don’t now what these liberals expect the police to do, wait until they get hurt?

I’m tired of people blaming others for their kids craziness. Perhaps the parents should have raised this kid better instead of questioning why the police officer chose to live and not to die.

  13. I could be wrong but I believe certain groups will make big deal out of this one as Schultz was the president of the LGBQ chapter at the school, when I first saw a photo of Schultz I wasn’t sure what it was ………….

  14. I find it some what amusing that libbys rail against the police for shooting someone who not only deserved it but asked for it (suicide by cop). While they want to legalize hard drugs (cocaine, heroin and meth) and give the addicts the needles and a safe place necessary to commit suicide slowly. If someone wishes to commit suicide they will. I’ve known 3 people who committed suicide. Each one had their reasons to not continue living. That was their right and choice. The only people I have any sympathy for are the police who have to live with this event. If someone wishes to truly commit suicide the place and method of choice should be provided. Thus no one will be forced to do it for them.

  15. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Advancing with a knife on an armed person is not a wise life decision. I primarily feel bad for the cops; this has to be tough on them.

  16. Absolutely, positively, totally, a good shooting. Fact: Suspect armed with a deadly weapon, within 21 feet distance of officer, refused to comply and drop the weapon after at least 13 commands to do so. Suspect advances on officer, and is shot center mass. Even if the officers had a tazer, this was not a tazer situation. Suspect obviously had serious mental issues, as he did not know what his gender identity was. Check with almost every police agency in the U.S. and you will find this shooting /use of force was well within any “use of force” policy. The police did their job, Period.

  17. A very sad situation.

How is this not victim blaming the cops? What happened before this kid got shot? Someone obviously called it in scared.

  18. Gender dysphoria, the mental defect of peace, strikes again! How many young people are we going to sacrifice on the alter of political correctness before we realize that sick people need treatment, not indulgence?

  19. Dude had some issues:

“Scout (they/them) was an important part of the SAHB51 community, and past that was an incredible advocate for all those marginalized. Scout was the president of Georgia Tech’s Pride Alliance and identified as intersex, bisexual, and non-binary. They were a beautiful person, who never settled for complacency in their life. They will be missed.”

  20. 30 years ago the suicidal young man would have been hauled off to jail in too tight handcuffs and torn clothes, with a bloody nose. Today’s cops aren’t going to risk their lives to take down a suicidal kid who doesn’t want to hurt them anyway. Which is their right, they don’t have to risk their lives for their jobs.

But in exercising that right, LEOs give up any right to claim that society owes them a damn thing for “putting their lives on the line for you every day”, when they steadfastly refuse to put their lives on the line in real life.

  21. Who hates a male child bad enough to name them Scout? Does a name add to the troubles? I knew a male child named Skylar. Already, at 12, under mental health supervision.

    • I have a friend named Scout. One of the coolest and most stable people, especially under stress, I’ve ever met. When everything is going to shit he’s laughing like a madman and dealing with it like a boss.

If the defecation REALLY hits the oscillation there’s not a lot of people I’d trust with my life. He’s one of them.

I’ve had a fair number of people tell me (or other friends of mine) that I scare them/I’m sketchy. They’ve also described me as SUSS. If it hits the fan they wanna come to my house. Yet, there are, quite literally, two people on this planet that I fear making angry. Scout and my wife. I scare a lot of people and Scout scares me (in a good way). Scout is SUSS as fuck.

You can’t judge a book by it’s cover. An oddball name doesn’t mean anything IMHO.

      That’s just MHO.

    • I was wondering why people were rioting/protesting over a white dude with a weapon getting shot by the police. The news was on when I was on my way out the door this morning, so those were all the details I had.

  22. Knives, hammers, bats, rocks, shanks/shivs are dangerous weapons. When approaching a member of the law enforcement community with ANY deadly weapon and misguided intentions could lead to an abrupt end of life. The kid may or may not have been plagued with a mental illness, but we do know that he was plagued with a stupid illness of menacing the police with a deadly weapon. From the sounds of the screams, post-ballista, suicide may not have been an intent either. Perhaps he was provoking the police as an self-proclaimed “activist hero” to his community. He got his 15 minutes of lame.

  23. Turns out kid called 911 on himself and left 3 suicide notes according to news accounts. Father says he had mental issues after coming out as gender binary (neutral). Also attempted suicide previously. Definitely suicide by cop.

  24. First and foremost, I blame Scout for his death. That said, I imagine that I wouldn’t have shot him had I been in the cops place. I think I would have tried to physically subdue him. My kung-fu is weak but I doubt it is as weak as Scout’s, so I would have gambled with my life to try not to shoot him. I would have some confidence that the IIIA armor would be good protection against a guy that looked and spoke like that with a small knife. I would be making this effort for myself – my own conscience – I just don’t want to kill someone (especially a mental wreck) if I can avoid it. I would not ask that anyone else do the same though. That is a personal choice IMO.

    • ActionPhysicalMan,

I appreciate and support everything that you said.

Each person has to decide for themselves how much risk they are willing to take on to assist another human — especially other humans who may want assistance dying.

    • “My kung-fu is weak but I doubt it is as weak as Scout’s, so I would have gambled with my life to try not to shoot him.”

Admirable but, no offense, foolish. Even small knives are no joke. They kill and they are scary AS FUCK when someone comes at you with one. Ask me how I know this.

One needs little skill to effectively employ a knife within it’s effective range and a hell of a lot of skill to take on that knife with another knife or unarmed.

Was the guy willing to actually use the knife, likely your altruism would be paid for with a trip to an OR… unless you didn’t get lucky, then it’s a one way trip to see the autopsy table first hand.

Blades, small or large have been killing people for thousands of years. They’re not to underestimated. A 2″ folder will put you in the grave really goddamn fast and the person using it doesn’t have to be some “operator” to make that happen.

      • Seriously Strych, take a look at that kid. I think you’d be okay without shooting him/her. This is an ideal taser situation. A little pepper spray even.

      • I have had about 30 hours of dagger/knife training and rubber knife/rondel dagger sparring in HEMA classes, so while not an action hero, I am aware of how dangerous it is. Also, as I said with the look of that kid and a IIIA vest on, I imagine that my chance of successfully not dying is fairly high especially if the partner helped out rather than firing shots into the melee.

  25. If parents can initiate an investigation and sue the police, why shouldn’t the police and society investigate and sue the parents for burdening the rest of society with their moronic offspring?

  26. No reason to shoot. Just wait for him to get tired and sit down.

Would have taken far less time than the aftermath of a police shooting….

  27. Um…was this a knife off a set of nail clippers? I zoomed in and never could see the knife.

Not saying cops were wrong, but holy crap…i mean…HOLY CRAP. No better options than “center man” were available?

  28. Obviously you have never been in a fight much less a knife fight. Police are trained that a person with a knife (even a little knife) can cover a distance of 21 feet in less than 2 seconds. This idiot came looking for a fight and he got it. Can’t fix stupid. Darwin always wins. Small knife, multi tool, doesn’t matter. He had a deadly weapon and refused to comply. Obviously he did not learn anything from his moron parents or school. Life is hard, it’s harder if your stupid. FYYFF.

  29. De-escalation tactics? They were backing away from him as he was advancing towards them. They told him to drop the knife numerous times and stated they don’t want to hurt him.

After he kept advancing one officer fired *one* shot.

I’m not the type to reflexively give officers the benefit of the doubt in officer-involved shootings, but I don’t see anything in this video to suggest any wrong-doing on the officers’ part. The dude pretty clearly displayed ability, opportunity and jeopardy to inflict immediate grave bodily harm or worse.

  30. I understand that some 40 percent of transgenders commit suicide. This is clearly suicide by cop and it sucks for the cop even more than for the parents, because the cop didn’t ask for this. The parents should have gotten this kid help.

  31. Normally I’m all for criticizing cops, but I’m having a hard time in this case.

I’ve been in similar positions and while I didn’t shoot, it crossed my mind. I don’t blame them for it.

  32. It’s been reported elsewhere (Gateway Pundit) that this piece of rectal discharge, Scout Schultz, had recently attempted suicide by hanging. What a putz he couldn’t even do THAT right so he had to involve someone else, hell he could’ve jumped off Stone Mountain and killed two birds with one stone ie. offing himself and giving the anti-South SJWs a “martyr” (LOL) .

And really “Scout” for a first name, yeah THAT’S not going to cause any problems (teasing/bullying), what the hell is wrong with these parents (my neighbor named his newborn son “Atticus” just two months before the new novel revealed he was a “racist” LOL. Remember my recent post on Kip Kinkle’s name in the “Wash State school shooter Caleb Sharpe” article (http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/09/robert-farago/question-of-the-day-when-do-you-call-the-cops-on-potential-murderer/)?

Additionally, a “small” knife? “Scout” would’ve been mocked and laughed out of my Boy Scout troop and Summer Camp (campers/staff) where WWII-era bayonets, large sheath knives ie. Ka-Bars/Ontario Air Force survival/Buck knives and machetes were the norm.

One thing is sure “Scout” DID learn SOMETHING at college ie. “If first you don’t succeed try, try, again”. LOL. Good riddance.

btw: I wonder if taxpayers are on the hook for 21 year old “Scout’s” student loans or if his parents financed his schooling (should’ve spent it on therapy/mental institution stay). But fear not WE will ALL pay as his parents have purchased a ticket (hired an attorney) and are looking to hit the jackpot in the Wrongful Death Lottery (they make me sick).

    • “my neighbor named his newborn son “Atticus” just two months before the new novel revealed he was a ‘racist'” – I haven’t read the book, but I did watch the movie. Big Gregory Peck fan. If Atticus was a racist, then that makes his character even more of what a lawyer should be in that a lawyer shouldn’t let his personal prejudices interfere with zealously representing a client he has agreed to represent. (And before some moron says otherwise, I don’t mean lawyers should be racists).

“But fear not WE will ALL pay as his parents have purchased a ticket (hired an attorney) and are looking to hit the jackpot in the Wrongful Death Lottery (they make me sick).” – The attorney is who makes me sick (if they didn’t just hire him to deal with the media). That case isn’t a good one. Legally, the cops didn’t do a thing wrong. At best, it’s a nuisance suit. I can understand the parents needing to blame someone other than themselves or their kid. The lawyer is taking advantage of their grief.

      • The posthumously published book by Harper Lee (manuscript found in her safe deposit box after her death) is “Go Set A Watchman”, in it Atticus Finch is a “segregationist”. My neighbor, an SJW, nearly puked when I told him that his son is named after a “racist” (LOL), I watched the color drain from his face. Sadly I don’t think Go Set A Watchman will generate the interest of To Kill A Mockingbird.

  33. No comments on Graham v Conner? Actions are not judged by the 20/20 view offered by hindsight, only by what was perceived as reasonable at the time. Sad? Of course. Reasonable? Absolutely. Another article said the perp had a multitool. Last I checked those blades would be considered deadly weapons. Even if he was holding it closed in his hand is it unreasonable to think it resembled a switch blade or other Auto opening knife?

Could something else have been done? Perhaps. That’s not the point though. If a deadly force deployment is considered reasonable then thats all that matters. Full stop. The lawyer knows this. He and the money grabbing parents are hoping to win the jackpot with tickets purchased using public outrage.

  34. Maybe this kids parents should have raised him better, looks to me like the kid was stoned, once saw a stoner take 4 chest shot that wouldn’t stop him, one in the head did. being stoned and with in 21 feet he could have killed 1 or more cops with his hands let alone a object in hand (knife). Stupid liberal Democrat Parents, believe their kids SH*t don’t stink and they have such a high opinion of themselves and their kids because they think they are special

  35. Play stupid games…good shoot. Assuming they even have the proper equipment to do so , It is not incumbent upon the police to de-escalate every idiot who puts themselves in a position of suicide by cop. If you approach a cop in a threatening manner, you get what you get. Assuming they will baby sit your poor pathetic ass is a deadly assumption.

  36. There is now mounting evidence the student did not have a knife in his hands at all and the untrained cops as usual shot first and asked questions later. German police get 3 years of intensive training and know when they can and cannot fire. Highly trained German police can disarm a man with a knife in seconds while hillbilly U.S. cops are taught to kill people for even a burned out tail light bulb. When the truth comes out it will once again be a senseless killing only this time the cops fucked up and shot a white guy which could mean they are in for serious charges this time.

    • If it came from another source, I might think those statements were worth checking instead of just dismissing them as bullpuckey and never giving another thought to them.

    • There’s mounting evidence you are a moron at worst and a keyboard antagonist at best. Which now that I think about it is something worse than being a moron. Watch the video clearly suicide by cop. MIC DROP!!!

  37. No matter what the cops did, they would be blamed, and some party would be complaining. If Scout wasn’t shot, BLM would be rioting over his survival. If he was tased, the father would still be whining excessive force.

Scout’s very existence was some kind of weird postmodern “look-at-me” performance piece. Read how touchingly Scout’s “friends” memorialized him/her: “Scout always reminded us to think critically about the intersection of identities and how a multitude of factors play into one’s experience.” That is lunatic gibberish. These are not mentally healthy people. They are as thoroughly obsessed by their wacko theories as the Heaven’s Gate cult was. God keep them away from knives and guns.

    • Isn’t it zim/zir/zit? (LOL)

I can’t keep these pronouns straight anymore (“straight” is THAT “bad” too?) They I mean “zey” keep changing it or is it “zit” and GOD forbid we/ze/xe “offend” someone or is it someze-xe? (uh oh I said “GOD” I wonder who or is it “zoo” I’m in trouble with now)

  38. suicide by cop by a sick, fucked up kid who didn’t know what gender he was.
the parents say: “Why did you shoot?”
society never asks: “Why did you raise such a confused kid?”

  39. Though I avoid The Blaze and Glen Beck like the plague his website revealed even more about the deranged “victim” Scout “I Know Nothing About Biology” Schultz and how the deviant engineered his own demise. It’s appears Scout put a hell of a lot effort into tricking police into killing him, calling the cops on himself, making false reports about “a person stalking around outside his dorm while apparently armed with BOTH a knife AND a handgun” etc: http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/matt-walsh-4-crucial-details-the-anti-cop-left-is-ignoring-about-the-georgia-tech-police-shooting/

  40. This is a sad situation all around. I’m all in favor of police being able to do their jobs and go home safe at the end of the day, but there has to be a better way to handle this kind of situation. Rubber bullets, bean bag rounds, bear spray, whatever… we should be developing more and better less-than-lethal options and training police to use them, even if they’re far from perfect. The kid was clearly messed up but there’s always hope that he could turn his life around. The police could have kept retreating and kept others away until he (yes, HE) came to his senses. It might have inconvenienced some people but a human life is worth it.

There’s a lot of PC taboos around this incident, but one thing that hasn’t been mentioned is the fact that the officer who shot the kid sounds like a woman. Is this true? It’s my understanding that female police officers are actually more likely to shoot people than males. I can imagine a bunch of reasons why that might be the case.
