In the same way that Moms Demand Action Against Gun Violence was entirely dependent on a supportive anti-gun press for their existence, GAG will garner exposure completely out-of-proportion to their actual public support.
Newly formed Gays Against Guns group advocates against gun violence pix11.com proclaims. And writes about GAG as if it’s a going concern, entirely based on their Facebook page and press release.
And in another parallel to Moms Demand Action — which started life as One Million Moms for Gun Control — it looks as if GAG is gagging on its “non-inclusive” homoerotic name: “An unofficial spokeswoman said in an email that the name of the group is under discussion to be more inclusive.”
And look for TTAG to continue to criticize the group for lobbying for disarmament of a group of people who have a demonstrable need to exercise their natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. Of course, the RKBA is not based on need, but still . . . madness.

The same reason they ignore the Log Cabin Republicans. They simply assume that conservatives and Republicans are homophobic and opposed to them and/or their lifestyle and so cannot admit that any LGBTQ person or group could agree with the conservatives on any issue.
They are heavily invested in the Liberal Progressive political dogma based on Democrat’s supposed policy of inclusion without judgement, whether or not that inclusion in the long term provides any real benefits. Their biggest concern always seems to be fear of being judged for how they live their lives, not any legitimate concern for the larger political picture.
I had a cousin who moved to San Francisco, became deeply involved in the community, and subsequently died of AIDS. The last time I spoke with him before he died he described the fatalism of the LGBTQ community and their acceptance of their life as being entirely separate from the rest of society. They intentionally engaged in risky sexual encounters, including the risk of AIDs, S&M, rampant drug abuse, and frequent domestic violence and it was just the way they lived. To many of them being physically attacked for being gay gave them “street cred” and showing clear signs of suffering from AIDS was a badge of honor.
These same people claiming to be somehow suddenly concerned about being shot is ludicrous and a patently obvious political position having little or nothing to do with their status as LGBTQ.

I find it surprising how much coverage the “pride” parades get seeing as they are very family un-friendly events and seem to cause the downtown to clear out of all but their crowd when they get started up.
