FN America has announced three new accessory products for its SCAR family of rifles, enhancing the platform’s versatility and modularity. The new products include the FN SCAR-SC Rear Stock and two barrel assemblies for the FN SCAR 17S chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. These accessories are available immediately and join an array of existing options for the SCAR, which was originally developed for USSOCOM and is touted as one of the most extensively tested rifle platforms ever created.

“From its original development for the U.S. military, the SCAR platform was designed to be configurable for various user needs,” said Ben Voss, senior product manager for FN America, LLC. “The new rear stock and Creedmoor barrels deliver on that promise, making the SCAR more versatile and customizable than ever before.”

FN SCAR-SC Rear Stock: Compact and Comfortable

The FN SCAR-SC Rear Stock is a three-position telescoping stock compatible with all SCAR models, including the 16S, 17S and 20S. This design allows users to telescope the stock for precise fitment or collapse it entirely alongside the receiver, creating a highly compact configuration for easy transport or close-quarters use.

The stock also features a contoured rubber cheek rest and buttpad for improved ergonomics and comfort during extended shooting sessions. It ships with the necessary rear plate and screws for installation, and FN has provided an instructional video to guide owners through the process.

FN SCAR 17S 6.5 Creedmoor Barrels: Precision and Power

SCAR 17S owners now have the option to convert their rifles to 6.5 Creedmoor, a popular caliber for long-range shooting. FN is offering two barrel assemblies: a 16.25-inch standard length for versatility and a 20-inch option for enhanced precision. Both barrels are cold hammer forged, chrome-lined and crafted to FN’s exacting standards, ensuring durability and accuracy.

Each barrel assembly includes a three-prong flash hider to minimize muzzle flash, as well as a full suite of components—Picatinny rail, gas block, piston, regulator, front sight assembly, high-pressure bolt and firing pin—that are fully backward compatible with SCAR 17S rifles chambered in 7.62×51 NATO. With a torque wrench, a T25-bit screwdriver, and FN’s step-by-step installation video, users can complete the caliber swap at home.
