“The data analysts at eBay put together an incredible map of the 50 states showing what types of products are purchased in each state most often,” reports. “The list was compiled between 2013 and 2014 and adjusted for population. Despite its tough gun laws, New York bought more firearms and supplies than any other type of product.” Texas, too, but you already knew that. But did you know that Wyoming resident, hunter, sharp shooter and Texas International Firearms Festival spokesperson Kirsten Joy Weiss is an amazing artist? Maybe guns and art go hand-in-hand in the Equality State, accounting for their eBay fave (art supplies). Yeah, let’s go with that.

  1. Well, you can’t buy firearms on Ebay. Supplies, pieces parts, etc? Yes. So the article, and probably the survey, is suspect since “firearms” can’t be purchased, or even listed there.

  2. I thought those kind of people aren’t welcome in New York? Commandant Cuomo said so himself.

    • Well I can understand this, I have spent many years in the mountains of SC, and there are roads that the GPS identifies as a road, but if you were to go down there you will hear banjo music. bet to stay on the black top, if its dirt you took a wrong turn.

  3. Am I seeing flowers as what is bought mostly on ebay in AZ? Maybe in Phoenix but not in the rest of this state. All us real Arizonians love our guns!

    • Look again. It’s clearly a red flower, not just your common every day tulip. Apparently you Arizonians like to be able to throw fireballs at those turtles you come across.

    • Perhaps it is because we were already well armed before the nationwide buying spree. As for why ammunition isn’t up there, I don’t know.

  4. I would guess the firearms related purchases in New York are parts to convert banned assault rifes to stay in compliance with the NY Safe Act. The time frame fits

  5. Why are the Brits so dang interested in our buying habits? Does anyone here care what folks in the Lake District buy compared to Cornwall? I know I don’t.

    • The Daily Mail is on of the most read news websites in the world. Like Top 10. I’m sure that a pretty decent percentage of their readership is based in the US, so they run stories that interest US readers.

      • At one point the online DailyMail was the second most read online paper in the USA, after only the WSJ.

My wife reads it for the gossip. I can neither confirm nor deny that I like the celeb bikini pics.

  6. I noticed that nobody in Washington, D.C. buys fertilizer. I guess it’s because the people there get it for free.

  7. So we all know ebay bans guns (we’d all be buying them otherwise, duh). But you may not know that they also ban food items, not counting the occasional face of Jesus Christ on toast, since you’re not supposed to actually eat that. So again, Nebraska, what in the heck is your deal?

  8. Wonder what would happen if you extended that list to Guns Amreica and Armslist. I was stationed in New Jersey and went to New York quite often, it seemed like everyone in New York had a gun. People don’t even seem to notice when guns go off. But then they don’t seem to notice much of anyting. The first time I was there I got off at Port Athority, stepped out on 42nd street saw a drunk puking against a wall, a hooker standing on a corner conducting business, and a dude was trying to sell me a watch. I was looking around for the cameras and the rest of the film crew thinking I had stepped into a movie scene by accident. On the other hand people in New Jersey are gun phobics. Of course I was there when the Viet Nam Vet flipped out and shot up half the police force in Cherry Hill. Jersey cops are a bunch of morons. People there are kind of strange too. But they do have good food.

  9. How long before the idiot left-wing politicians in New York are up in arms (no pun intended) and wasting millions to investigate Ebay. I can see the headlines “Governor Cuomo, Senator Charles Schumer, Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy and former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg along with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and Mayors Against Illegal Guns have all called for a crack down on the illegal weapons trade on Ebay.
