“The FBI is warning law enforcement agencies across the country that the decision ‘will likely’ lead some extremist protesters to threaten and even attack police officers or federal agents,” abcnews.go.com reports. “‘The announcement of the grand jury’s decision … will likely be exploited by some individuals to justify threats and attacks against law enforcement and critical infrastructure,’ the FBI says in an intelligence bulletin issued in recent days. ‘This also poses a threat to those civilians engaged in lawful or otherwise constitutionally protected activities.'” Is it me or does that sound more like a domestic terrorism alert than a warning about good old-fashioned rioting? The Fibbies are specific about the threat. too . . .

Peaceful protesters could be caught in the middle, and electrical facilities or water treatment plants could also become targets. In addition, so-called “hacktivists” like the group “Anonymous” could try to launch cyber-attacks against authorities . . .

“The FBI assesses those infiltrating and exploiting otherwise legitimate public demonstrations with the intent to incite and engage in violence could be armed with bladed weapons or firearms, equipped with tactical gear/gas masks, or bulletproof vests to mitigate law enforcement measures.”

Firearms, eh? If “protestors” shoot police there will be a major backlash against gun rights – even as Ferguson residents use firearms to protect life and property. Watch this space. [h/t DrVino]

  1. I must be getting cynical in my old age. I mean DUH!!!
It took the FBI to figure out this? Really?
I think most of us out here have known for some time this will be an excuse, and we should know within hours of the decision being handed down what to expect.

    • Yup, more of your tax dollars inaction. “Crank up the FUD machine to FULL TILT, SA Elmo!” The only possible threat they neglected to trot out was a rogue asteroid strike.

  2. Liberals/progressives/left-wing terrorists are not terrorists – they are civil rights protesters. Those that defend their peaceful lives, with weapons if necessary, are right-wing terrorists…

  3. Wasn’t it Jeff Cooper that suggested a .22 rim fire as a riot control tool. Shoot the ringleaders in the lung. They will exit the premises. Then they can be patched up at the local E.R.
    Ah…the good old days. 🙂

Seriously, if the protestors shoot at L.E. then L.E. should shoot back. Political correctness be damned.

    • It’s tough to do that when there’s a mass of people all acting aggressively and one person with a small handgun can’t be picked out.

      • Especially if that one armed guy is a government agent looking to fabricate a pretense for a government crackdown on firearms freedoms.

        • It would be awesome if cops shot and killed an agitator that turned out to be a govt agent.

        • Marcus (Aurelius) Payne,

I think the term you want is “agent provocateur”.

However, even if a government sponsored agent provocateur infiltrated the crowd, caused all Hell to break loose, and the police took him/her down, I highly doubt that anyone would be able to establish that said person was a government sponsored agent provocateur.

        • Right. If the Feral Bureau of Instigation sent a Confidential Instigator, and if the local LEOs rightfully shot him, his FBI connections would never come to light. The press would be given information connecting him to the group of protesters that the FBI sent him to incite to commit crimes.

The FBI enjoys a stellar reputation with the masses not because they were ever a stellar organization, but rather because they are far better at burying dirty laundry than just about any other “law enforcement” agency in the country.

        • The Agent provocateur would never come to light? Huh? It worked just fine at Kent State. The Feds’ boy fired the shots (from a Fed-supplied pistol) that started the whole mess, he got ID’d—and the last I heard he was enjoying a comfortable retirement at a cushy mountain hideaway.

  4. I don’t think gun rights will suffer. The “protesters” will more than likely be illegally armed. And when people figure out the cops don’t give a rat’s a-hole about them many more willjoin the pro-gun fight…

    • I have to disagree. This is just the kind of event that Obama will use for repealing the 2nd amendment. Or, at least, he’ll try. Good luck with that.

  5. I think that the best thing in a case like this is to have the grand jury say there is enough evidence to take him to trial and then he can be tried in a court of law by his peers and that may either alleviate the situation or delay but it could also backfire and escalate matters worse than now just a thought

    • So you sugest taking a man to trial even if there is insufficient evidence just to please the race baiters?

      I call bullspit!

    • A grand jury is taken from the same pool as a regular jury. They are his peers. And the whole point of the grand jury system – at least as it should work – is to prevent a citizen from needlessly undergoing the expense and publicity of a trial where there is insufficient evidence. Of course, here, the publicity thing kind of went out the window awhile back. He will be known as that Ferguson cop for the rest of his life.

      • You make it sound like a jury is chosen at random. “…at least how it should work” is the key phrase – in reality, it doesn’t work that way. Haven’t you ever had to appear for jury duty? If you have, then you know that the lawyers get to handpick the jurors. In this case, the prosecutor gets to handpick jurors plus he/she gets to choose what the grand jury hears and does not hear, hence the saying that a prosecutor could get a grand jury to “indict a ham sandwich”. And this guy is not just a “citizen”, he is “special”, being in a “protected class” due to qualified immunity as a police officer. Note he will not be paying for the expense of the trail — the public taxes will be. I, for one, think that a real trail, as opposed to a non-indictment by a grand jury, might be the best option in this case. If he is innocent, as he may well be, let it be determined by a full hearing, in public, with all sides present and hopefully a mixed race jury.

        • I don’t know how it works on the local level, but I JUST got home from my federal grand jury summons. Nobody is “picked”. The judge allows those with kids under 10, illness, hardship, and other viable reasons to be excused from service. The rest of us were picked at random. Including who are part of the 23 jurors and 15 alternates.

  6. Sure, the kid was a thug, and deserved to be caught and punished for allegedly attacking a police officer. But, based on my knowledge of the legal use of deadly force, the police officer was way out of control, and should pay the consequences. I hope the grand jury makes a good decision. And just imagine if the police officer was black and the teen was white. Would things be different?

      • 9 times out of 10, when someone starts a comment with any variant of ‘based on my knowledge’ they’re talking out their @$$. They only ‘knowledge’ I have of the incident is someone’s dead and I wasn’t there so I don’t know what actually happened.

    • Where do you glean your knowledge of deadly force?

More importantly, how do you know what happened? Because even those people here with a very good knowledge of the law surrounding police use of force hit a wall in figuring things out because the evidence available does not point to whether the deceased was surrendering or coming at the officer again. I know which makes more sense to me, given the result, but I certainly don’t “know.”

    • Yes, it would have made a difference. There wouldn’t have been any rioting in the ‘hood over it, and the media would have left the story to the locals. Hell, they had to turn Zimmerman into a white guy to get the narrative they wanted; black cop kills white punk is not their kind of story.

    • How could you possibly know that? You weren’t there. Are you just assuming the mob is right about everything they have said? Maybe you need your head to be pulled out to see the light of day once in a while.

  7. thank God open carry is available in MO. I may go to Galleria or Clayton this week to show support for national guard

  8. There is probably no way to get good data on this, but I would be extremely interested to know what the percentage of CHL holders who actually carry will look like the rest of the week compared to last week. I bet it goes up by 50%, at least in urban areas.

  9. Where is President Ebola on this? Rather than be proactive and try to prevent the fuse from being lit he must be preparing his narrative that Michael Brown could be his son. But we all know better because unlike the chosen one, Michael Brown at least accomplished one thing in his life and left this earth a little safer.

    • There’s a good probability that President Ebola is organizing the “protests.” This is a good training opportunity for 2016 and the possible martial law. After all, so far he has done everything by the Lenin/Hitler/Alinsky book – how to get power, how to keep and use power, and none of his teachers ever wrote or spoke of relinquishing power…

        • By sending in the military to supposedly fight a virus is an excellent way to demoralize the military, get many of the soldiers infected, and bring the virus back home. What more can one ask for?

    • Funny you should mention that as I was slobbering hard for a Savage rifle I saw recently. At least until I realized it was nestled within a HS precision stock.

  10. As long as the ‘protestors’ hassle the cops, most will remain safe! If they go after the people, they may not do as well!

  11. The video from the hospital makes the cop’s claim of being attacked very doubtful — there’s no sign of any injury of any kind. My guess is that the cops all know it wasn’t a righteous shoot, and they’re doing the good-old-boy network bit to cover it.

    • Roy…we did this troll-bait thing alreadt weeks ago. Don’t you have gas money to get there, or someplace close to go out nears Moms basement to wear your Guy Faulkes mask, dude?

      • You talked about the hospital video weeks ago? Amazing! Can I borrow your time machine?

It disgusts me how people on this site can be so anti-cop when the victims are white, but the moment it’s a black victim, cops are suddenly righteous. We can go from “I’ll never trust any cops!” to justification of a cop shooting some guy with no interest at all in the truth just by changing the color of the victim.

Or is this victim only three-fifths of a person?

        • I think a lot of people don’t acknowledge that the black community is disproportionately affected by bad law enforcement policy. Mike brown may have been a thug who crossed the line, but that isn’t the story all the time(not necessarily referring to getting shot).

        • Roy, I was referring to your last sentence…”the cops all know it wasntva righteous shoot. coverup….”

You obviously havent been here much, or you’d know better. TTAG is far from LEO luvin’, and not everyone agrees, but on one its pretty clear…the evidence is far from clear, and thats why we are waiting on the grand jury.

TTAG is also far from your second example of troll baiting…raaacsisssttt…
As a matter of fact, its probably the most diverse readership, and the racism expressed here by anyone or another, doesnt get much traction, especially compared to commentscat WAPO, or Huffpo, or the lower sewers of the progtard left. If you want company, and sympathy, go there…

If you want to drop something OT into a thread, like a brand new video, then give a link, or a reference, and explain the fact that suports the accusation….

But please dont pretend your outrage that we dont even know what planet you live on is proof of your imaginary enemy, here….

  12. “The video from the hospital makes the cop’s claim of being attacked very doubtful ”

Are you referring to the video from the Ferguson police station? I am not aware of video from the hospital. I tend to doubt hospital video has been released because hospitals are pretty wary of releasing video–especially if it is footage from a patient care area–due to privacy concerns, HIPPA laws, etc..

      • It’s been pretty well established that the officers eye socket was cracked. If that doesn’t show up on a video…oh well.

        • The video pretty well establishes that the police have been lying:

          – – – – –
A police source told Fox: ‘The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side. He was beaten very severely.’
          – – – – –

  13. Good. IN this case the shooting was justifiable. The problem is the hundreds of times it was not. The thousands of times cops have sht all over a persons rights.

All the times innocent people have been targeted by and harassed by cops. Well folks you reap what you sow.

The fruit of decades of cop abuse has ripened and it’s the cops own damn fault.

    • Humans do not form collectives. It is not right to blame a cop who seems to have acted appropriately for the wrongs committed by other cops. There is no such thing as collective blame.

In short: two wrongs do not make a right.

  14. I suspect there will be more than a few who are rioting just for the sake of rioting. I suspect there will also be more than a few who are very frustrated with the out of control assaults by police on the people. Right or wrong, the perception will be that, again, the state has gotten away with murder, we are just targets and that is the way it is. I cannot speak to what happened, I was not there. I doubt that the officer will be indicted. If there is no probable cause he should not be. That said, the disparity of action allowed needs to change. Assaults by police met with deadly force should not be a crime. Police who kick in the wrong doors and die should not be a cause of action against the homeowner. Shoot my tail wagging dog and prepare to have you or your dog similarly treated. Don’t put handcuffs on me “for my own safety” and not expect to wind up in the ER with some fractures. They do not have a greater right to self defense than we do. When both sides are treated equally, THAT is correct.

  15. Self-fulfilling prophecy anyone?

The feds seem like bigger doom porn fetishists than the nuts on Doomsday Preppers or Seventh Day Adventists.

Go on TV abd tell a segment of society repeatedly that you don’t trust them, you expect them to loot and riot and I’d be shocked if they didn’t make the feds wishes come true.

It’s like when they find some kid with an IQ of 70 and spend months convincing him to blow up a bridge so they can swoop in and say “see, the world is dangerous and we’re heroes.”

  16. To Bigfinger 76 and Roydmond

Because of his response to the crises was to first ignore it and then his only solution is to allow it to come here freely. I suppose I could refer to him as Pres. Enterovirus, or ISIS, Benghazi, NSA Snoop Doggers, IRS, Crimea, Putin’s P*ssy, Gum chewing China boy, Ayatollah’s ass kisser, Stupid voter ACA dumper. Should I go on?
Name calling is not an avoidance of critical thought it’s a way of pointing out things that some ignore.

  17. Y’know, if The Post Racial POTUS would have just sat down with a beer, with the Ferguson protesters, and the police chief, like he did with the college perfesor, we wouldn’t be having all this fuss.

So my question is, why is Obama bigoted toward poor blacks down south?

In another equally sane example of progtard reasoning, the Religion of Peace, is showing up.

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/11/18/muslim-groups-seek-to-co-opt-ferguson-protests-says-watchdog-group/

  18. I wasn’t there when the shooting occurred (I live in PA) and I am sure glad I won’t be there when all hell breaks loose. And just my opinion, but I am sure there will be senseless violence and bloodshed in the streets, because the protagonists have set it up that way. How much, how long it will last and will it spread to other cities are about the only unknowns. I hope and pray I am wrong, and it turns into a peaceful march with signs and banners for a couple of days.

    • If Reverend “I let other people pay my taxes” Sharpton would shut his mouth for a week, it might help. But I expect him to wait until some more blacks have been shot, for whatever reason, and then show up to fan the flames.
