Cincinnati-based Faxon Firearms has just announced a line of polymer-framed 9mm pistols. The new FX-19 line includes two handguns, the Patriot and the Hellfire. Both feature optics-ready, DLC-coated, aggressively machined slides and take GLOCK 19 magazines.
The Hellfire comes silencer-ready with a threaded barrel and suppressor-height sights. Faxon hasn’t announced prices yet.

The Patriot is set up in a carry configuration with aggressive serrations in the slide and fiber-optic front sights. The Hellfire is competition oriented with lightening cuts, suppressor-height sights, enhanced aluminum magwell, and a G19 magazine with a Faxon +5 extension.

Both the Patriot and Hellfire come with DLC coated slides, machined in-house from 17-4 stainless steel and our Match Series pistol barrels. The slides feature optic cuts for mounting Trijicon RMR and Holosun 507C red dots.
The Faxon polymer frame utilizes a 1911-style grip angle, custom grip textures, a double undercut trigger guard, and extended beavertail for improved recoil control and faster target acquisition. The frame also features a full picatinny rail for weapon mounted lights.

Supposedly all the Glock clones have excessive serrations because it makes it legally distinct from a genuine Glock without compromising parts compatibility.
I’ve heard mentioned before and I agree with the idea that manufacturers should do more pistols based on other manufacturers magazines. I like that they are starting with Glock but hope to see new pistols take m&p mags.
And coming from another S&W owner, I’ve never heard of any company that makes reliable funsticks for an M&P. For competitions that allow them, that’s actually quite important.
Good idea for Faxon, makes sense for them to show what their parts lineup looks like in concert, atop an 80 percent frame. FWIW that is a Polymer80 frame
It shouldn’t be too difficult to find the front sight on the Hellfire… Wonder how well it’d clear my Galco belly band? Right now I’m making the conversion from a G43 to a Sig P365. New grip and trigger, I’ll have to wait on one of these…
I’ve been saying for years, ‘Somebody should come out with a polymer framed striker fired 9mm pistol.’ and now, finally, somebody has gone and done it! This is so like when Dodge invented the mini-van.

It’s a p80 with a little alteration on the stippling what’s the big deal other than the slide how much 1200.00 for a 150.00 frame and a maybe 400.00 slide and barrel cmon guys
It is definitely a polymer80 frame but you would be suprised how fast those Glock clone parts add up. Yea the frame can be had on brownells for $120 and the slide is probably $400 but the trigger is probably $150 and the sights are probably $200 a set or thereabouts. Add a barrel….
Not saying buy one, but those polymer80 projects can get expensive quickly
I would be willing to bet you could build your own for a lot less money and have the SAME EXACT THING!!
I bet you Bill Gates drinkng money that’s a Gen3 compatible pistol lower ( poly80 to be exact) on a typical aftermarket upper.
The Faxon handguns are a turn-key solution for folks willing to spend minimum $1,600 (my guess based on Faxon glock parts; they ain’t cheap). But, like a few already mentioned, build your own, p80, lower and upper kits, slide with optic cut and side serrations, barrel, supressor hight sights, as low as $1,000 total? Then you still have to by the optic, $250-$550.
Maybe the manufacturer specs should list minor specs like dimensions, weight, and barrel length? And I agree with Kman, they should make a CCW version without all the slide holes and sharp serrations, priced below a G19, M&P9C 2.0, and CZ P-10C.
Personally, I think designing a pistol around Glock magazines is a terrible idea. The plastic is thicker than metal magazines, making the grip size awful. Much better off using something like a S&W M&P mag

i could not own these guns. i would be obsessed with keeping all the nooks and crannies cleaned out. everytime you rack the slide all that dirt, oil, sweat is just going to get scraped off your fingers into those grooves. nasty. yes it does this with every guns serrations but DAMN, this thing is serrationapolis. and i do kinda like the look of it too.
Needs more slide serrations. Reminds me of a quad rail hand guard.

I think going with Glock mags was smart. LOTS of capacity options from tons of places at any budget level.

Other than being able to DIY grip reduction, low-priced Glockazines are why I finally bought a Glock last year.
I completely agree its smart to start with glock but cannot wait until companies start doing the same for m&p mags.

Those pistols caught my eye for sure. They appear well built. My complaint, as there always has to be, is the slide serrations, well that and 9mm.
They may work fantastic.

i could not own these guns. i would be obsessed with keeping all the nooks and crannies cleaned out. everytime you rack the slide all that dirt, oil, sweat is just going to get scraped off your fingers into those grooves. nasty. yes it does this with every guns serrations but DAMN, this thing is serrationapolis. and i do kinda like the look of it too.

We’ve had a Hellfire in our rental case for a couple months now. Good gun. Light weight. Shoots well. Nothing special pro or con.
