Michael Bloomberg’s anti-ballistic bully boys are at it again. Unable to assemble more than a few dozen supporters in the real world, they continue to rely on their bloody shirt-waving social media anti-gun jihad to maintain the illusion that they’re a meaningful movement. The latest gimmick: a #whateverittakes hashtag campaign complete with TTAG-like “I Am a Gun Owner” selfies. Which just BEGS for a counter-campaign. Want to have some fun and win a box of the pistol ammo of your choice? Click here to print out the above sign, fill it in with your choice of recipients and your feelings on guns or gun control, selfie (SAME FORMAT AS ABOVE) and send it to us at . . .

[email protected] with FEELINGS (all caps) in the subject bar. We’ll upload them to a gallery on TTAG’s Facebook page  – with the appropriate hashtag of course – and post the best ones here. No obscenity. Other than that, gopher it! Because #mygunsmatter. Yeah, we’ll do that one next! Meanwhile, stand by for a rant on the only-slightly-hidden meaning of Everytown’s Internet exhortation. [Post on the lack of morality revealed by this campaign at 10:30am CMT]

    • The best part of hashtag activism is that most of the everytown crew isn’t smart enough to turn off location settings when they take and post a photo. So using some of the hashtag tracking tools, we’re easily able to see who these people are, where they live, and know they’re unarmed. It’s like a criminal’s best tool for resistance free crime targeting. See if you can find any of these activists in your town?

      #socialmediafail

      • It works, I believe firefox users are not seeing it if they are running “lightbeam” to block browser tracking. That seemed to be the issue for me.

    • Blank screen for me also; not just Robert’s link. I couldn’t get the sign directly from their page last night. Unpausing the blocking of Ghostery didn’t help either.

Maybe they’ve already realized their futility?

      • Wouldn’t be surprised…
if you do an “image” search for “#whateverittakes everytown”, you’ll see several different women holding the sign with the EXACT same wording in the EXACT same handwriting of “Dear Congress, I feel angry that you’re ignoring us”, (meaning this is not a personal effort/campaign on their part at all, but rather a centralized media campaign).

  1. Ain’t this modern media stuff so much Halloween all the day, all the time. The Jack-in-the-Box is now on every screen as putty to glue your day to whatever. The sad thing is…it don’t stop the truly weird minds from going berserk.

  2. Make sure to send our signs to Everytown so they can see how we are taking over their campaign. Wonder if they will pull it after.

  3. “whatever it takes”? That sounds really scary, as in, ‘even if I have to kill millions of innocent people,’ sort of dedication…

    • If you believe some conspiracy theorists, whatever it takes means staging mass shootings to keep trying to get laws passed that won’t do anything but disarm the citizens and keep the guns in criminals’ hands.

  4. According to Shannon:
“It means that if Americans want to be safe — as safe as other developed nations — we must fight. I don’t mean post about a shooting on Facebook. I mean kick and scream and work and yell. Do “whatever it takes,” every single day.”

    • Factor out the thug violence from the stats and we are like any other country. So maybe 3% of the citizens with less than 3% of the guns commit 2/3 of the murders! In most neighborhoods, where most of the guns are, there isn’t a problem. We have laws that say criminals can’t have guns but… yeah, that’s ignored… just like the rest of them. We don’t need more gun laws. We need less thugs.

      • But, if we pass laws that will keep the criminals armed, while disarming the populace, we can pass even more stringent laws that will do nothing more than make criminals even bolder in their crime sprees.
Hell, they might even go the Leeland Yee, or F&F route, and sell the very guns they are banning to the criminals themselves.

  5. The latest gimmick: a #whateverittakes hashtag campaign…

“Whatever It Takes”: the mantra of tyrants. Rights and freedoms do not matter, when they interfere with the objectives of tyranny. If meeting those objectives requires trampling on those rights, so be it.

These people are the ultimate reason that we own firearms: to defend ourselves, from them.

    • Maurice: When I mention show tunes and gourmet cooking, what image does that conjure up in your mind?

      Chris: Homosexuals, I guess..

  6. Whateverittakes ……………took one of their own being raped , beaten , assaulted , robbed , murdered and then their on our side .
We should counter by showing women and children , bruised , battered , beaten , raped and molested and maybe laying on a gurney being zipped up in a body bag with a sign below saying , this is what it took or
    ( ittookthis )

    • Thanks once again Chip , printed myself a copy and it will be in my waiting room by the end of the day .
God bless brother . Your insight is always appreciated .

        • For starters, several in the list are debunked here:

          http://www.guncite.com/gc2ndbog.html

Some of them appear in this list (although this article doesn’t provide any debunking evidence, if you look into the specific quotes, it’s easy enough to find the arguments against them):

          https://www.thefederalistpapers.org/second-amendment-2/famous-pro-gun-quotes-the-founding-fathers-never-actually-said

The thing about these sorts of false quotes is, if you’ve read much of the speeches and correspondence of the founders and their contemporaries, you can spot the ones where the language is just a bit “off”. Whoever’s making them up often tries just a little too hard to sound “18th centuryish”, or the quote is targeted way too specifically at some modern argument, but wasn’t really an issue back then, or it’s attributed to some formal occasion such as a Congressional address, but the language is too casual, etc…

The founders didn’t really debate the value of guns in society that much. “Gun control” wasn’t a topic of discussion, because the default position of most of the revolutionary generation was that guns were a necessity. So if it’s about guns and attributed to Jefferson, Washington, et al, there’s a good chance it’s bogus.

  8. Look at this douchebag in the picture, They blacked out her face so you can’t see it but the poster that she’s holding very clear to read Boy that standing up for what you believe in hiding behind a filtered screen Another Mental midget!

  9. I hate to say this for all the law abiding gun owners in New York State and California but really I think we should just give those two states To the gun control Empire and let all those groups live in the same two states And that’s horrible to because there’s some pretty countryside in New York State as well as beautiful California. But something’s gotta be done These people are absolutely ridiculous Full of crap And don’t have a grasp on reality to save their loan lives

  10. Their campaign is a clear threat to life and limb. Make no mistake, these are people swinging on a loose hinge. They incite violence to end it? Sending something like they do to Congress says one thing; I am an emotional whack-job, hysterical, and a danger to myself and others.

  11. Dear Congress
I FEEL that whateverittakes is the latest laughable joke from BLOOMBAG
and urge you to ignore all of it.
    Thanks!
    Mark Lloyd

  12. I wonder how many people would pay, say $25.00 a year for the privilege of downloading their little sign?

Maybe they could form an organization, and incorporate it, and give all of their dues paying members a vote in how the organization crafts its policies, principles, and mission statement. and elect members to its board of directors, and hire lobbyists to convey their message to elected representatives…

    Nah.. That would never work.

  13. Gun control= it’s not about about the gun or your safety, it’s to feel goooood…and throw everyone who can’t afford body guards and private gated communities under the bus with a blindfold them (who do the controlling) insist are glasses.

  14. Dear: MDA
I feel: you guys should move to North Korea or China so you can live in a society where only military and law enforcement owns guns.

  15. Some of the disarmed people murdered by the governments of the world, Christians Rome, Jews Nazi Germany, Aztecs Spanish, Maori of NZ and Aboriginals Australia, Scottish William Wallace, the Irish, Welsh by English and the Native America by the US government. THIS is why we need guns to protect ourselves from those who would subject us to their whim and if this is not enough just google dictators. There are over 400 gun laws on the books and they have done nothing to stop the violence because of the winey few. We are chastised for wanting to protect ourselves. We NEED guns to protect ourselves from criminals in and out of the government. I deserve the right to protect myself and if you don’t like it tough shit. mrpresident2016.com
