  1. I’m curious why 2 different brand semi-autos, let alone both subcompacts. Seems if you’re going to lug around 2 semi-autos maybe stick to ones that can take the same/similar magazines.

    • Considering that his name is Tackleberry and his comment is “All day, every day. Gun-free zone or not. Always prepared.” it may not be serious.

  2. It really is getting to the point where we need to start seeing pictures of the people actually lugging all this stuff around as an attempt to call BS. This person is either 6’5″ 300 lbs, 14 years old or carries a man-purse. Puhleeze!

    • Honestly I think we go a bit far ragging on people for what they carry in terms of how much they carry.

Keep in mind that TTAG calls this a “Pocket Dump” but the actual EDC website doesn’t specify that and many people, myself included carry a bag.

This is my Pocket Dump, which as a TTAG reader I limited to what I carry on my person at nearly all the time because I know the “excess” gear drives people nuts.

However, my actual EDC includes a backpack full of books and a laptop plus other stuff.

Is that a bunch of stuff? Sure, but read what I wrote about how much I carry in books and other school supplies and the weight of the added items and I think you’ll agree that while it’s a lot of stuff it’s minimal compared to my school supplies. Consider however that I’m telling you it’s a backpack and showing you the bag. If I didn’t do that I’d look like I was crazy, lying or trolling.

  3. I’ve noticed a surprising number of Field Notes notepads in the Pocket Dump of the Day recently. These are made and sold by a well-known designer named Aaron Draplin. What you all need to know is that Draplin is extremely anti-Second Amendment. I’m a designer in NC and attended one of his presentations last year. When he wasn’t talking design was praising Obama and making cheap shots at the NRA and gun owners. I just think you guys need to know who you’re supporting. His notepads are nothing special and the the ones I’ve seen aren’t even well made. Please take your business elsewhere. He thinks all of you are slack-jawed rednecks.

  4. Has there ever been a condom in any of these? You’d think there’d be at least one safety conscious horn dog out there.

    • Pocket dump, not a briefcase dump, or a glovebox dump.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure at least some percentage of these (generally) gents are Brad Pitt, and might get some random just wandering around during the day/night. But I’ve heard that even if you have an extremely fortuitous seat match on a 5 hour red-eye, you still can get to the carry-on before you head to the back of the plane.

(Unless you bartend in Orange County near a porn studio. Then you should have a pocketful at all times.)

    • Yeah, and he even has multitool with pliers in case he would actually need to open this french marvel without loosing his fingernails.

  5. Careful Zimmerman.

We read so we CAN comment. Otherwise the site is useless.

Nothing like poking some good natured fun at some one baring their “pocket sole”.

I kept looking for the tournequet though….

  6. Does seem like a lot of stuff, but, I have no clue as to what he does for a living. Of course, I consider my load light, but I know a lot of people would exclaim that I carry too much. I carry a pen, pocket notebook and knife everywhere I go b/c my job requires detailed notes and opening a lot of boxes. I use my phone as my flashlight (not the best, but it works) and I have my keys, that have a simple screwdriver/bottle opener (the doohickey) from nite ize. I get questions from time to time from folks who laugh at all the stuff I pull out of my pockets, I just figure thats what pockets are for. My P938 is always there, but I don’t pull it out, so nobody has asked me about that one yet.

  7. So…he carries a Leatherman multi-tool, a Griffin multi-tool (which is redundant because the Leatherman has a bottle opener and screw driver built in, and the KeyBar already carries his keys), dagger, and folding knife (which is redundant because his Leatherman already has a folding knife build in, and he’s already carrying a dagger)? Overall, it must be a DANGEROUS job to be a “Network Engineer”. And yeah, “field notes”…some tactiCOOL bullsh*t.
