I was basing my comment on what the German army did to Russia in WW II and *assumed* there was wholesale hatred of Germans by the Russians…
Oh, modern Russians hate Nazis quite a bit. The anti-bolshevik groups that Hitler played like a fiddle more or less got killed off, either while being used as cannon fodder by the Wehrmacht or by Stalin’s house cleaning after the war.
My personal hierarchy of hate is rather simple…
1. Socialists
2. Nazis (Though to be fair, #1 covers them as well.)
3. Islam

The fact that they hated Stalin enough to participate in the operation does not mean that they were loyal to or liked the Nazi party.
Had they actually read “Mein Kampf” they would have known that Hitler, as early as 1925, had declared Slavs to be “Untermenschen” (sub human) and designated that they be killed in vast numbers so that Germany could have “Lebensraum” (living space).
The people you speak of thought that the enemy of their enemy was their friend. Nothing more. Had they actually read Hitler’s book they would have known that they were being used and would be subject to extermination.
They got used and their hatred of Stalin is what made it possible, not their ideological allegiance to the Reich.
Exactly. Had Hitler not been Hitler, he would have used the Ukrainians to his advantage, and had them allied against the Red Army. God knows Ukrainians hated Stalin, they fought guerilla wars until the mid ’50s against him.
Instead, he stole their food, and did the lebensraum number on them. We all know how well that turned out.
I was just taking a poke at some of the Mad Russians statements on how to handle certain problems. You know, stakings in public, etc.
The Nazis were pikers. I take most of my cues from the Romanian side of my ancestry. Their solutions may have been brutal, but nothing says success like keeping the Turks out of Europe for five centuries.

Generally these pocket dumps border on total silliness. This one however is nice. The choice of items carried shows a pride in quality over quantity.

Actually, the Galco was chosen for a reason.
1. It has a thumbreak which means that the firearm is 100% secure inside the holster.
2. It is REALLY easy to slip out holster and all which minimizes unnecessary gun handling. Basically, that gun gets unholstered every two weeks when I clean it at all other times, the snap stays closed.
(The fact that the snap keeps the hammer down doesn’t hurt either.)
Excellent explanation. I have a similar holster for a similar reason.
Concealment isn’t perfect and if it fails retention prevents someone from immediately disarming you the way they can with most CCW holsters and disarming you with unknown intentions.

That streamlight is top notch. I used to carry a huge P12 then found the streamlight. Most of the brightness, same runtime, and much slimmer.
That sucker actually survived two inadvertent wash and dry cycles over the years… Totally worth the money.

pwrsurge, one of my favorite books is An American in the Gulag. It’s the story of Alexander Dolgun, and his time in the soviet gulags. There is dark humor in the book that I have always taken to be truthful. I would ask you if it is. In one instance in the book, a camp guard asks Alex what his crime was. Alex answers that he did nothing. The camp guard then asks what his sentence was. Alex responds 25 years hard labor and 5 years exile. The camp guard then assaults Alexandre and calls him a liar. while bearing alex, the camp guard explains that the sentence for nothing is 10 years.
The anecdote is presented as a common theme widely known of and understood by the soviets of the day. As a man born under soviet rule, could you confirm this as true.
