What’s this Everyday Carry thing? Am I doing this right? I have a lot of pockets. Some items of note: the little Boker Gnome, the color case hardened HK P7, the color case hardened NAA Mini Revolver, the Hogue EX-02, the Kel-Tec CL-43 flashlight, the Peltor Tactical 500 bluetooth electronic muffs, the upgraded tourniquet, the Kestrel DROP 2, and the Premier Body Armor plates and carrier (destructive testing review pending). Plus an ounce of gold that I found in RF’s couch cushions.
I would take that P7 over the ounce of Gold!! What a beauty.

P7 has always intrigued me. I hear that owning one is kind of a labor of love; they’re complex, finicky beasts. Thoughts?
They’re certainly complex internally, but mine has never been finicky. I *love* how the gun shoots. For the owner who doesn’t do their own detail strip & clean, the P7 is fine – it’s easier to field strip than a Glock. To remove the striker, you need a spanner wrench on earlier models, and it is quite easy when you have the correct tool. The -13 model allows the striker to be pulled without a tool.
Once you start to detail strip & disassemble it beyond the above, the P7’s complexity overpowers most people who aren’t gunsmiths.
I don’t think you actually carry this, I think you just wanted to show off your cool stuff. :p

I also carry a set of free weights for working out on the go, but couldn’t put them on my glass-topped desk for the photo, for obvious reasons.
You’re doing it wrong then. Real workout aficionados bolt a Bowflex on the back of their truck or on a trailer they tow behind their car.

I don’t know if this is a joke or not, but I’ve never understood the five people on earth who carry P7s. Why carry something rare and expensive that, when used in a DGU, could be confiscated from you, with a chance of never seeing it again?
I don’t buy into that argument at all. If it’s about saving my life or the life of another, I’m not going to choose the cheapest gun possible just in case I’m in a shooting that’s deemed questionable enough to have my firearm confiscated. If it is, and I find myself on trial, whether or not I get my pistol back is the last thing in the world I give a sh*t about, and whether it’s a $500 pistol or an $800 pistol or a $1,400 pistol doesn’t make any damn difference whatsoever. I will carry the gun that I shoot the best, am the most comfortable with, and feel is the most reliable, period, because if it saves my life when a gun I don’t shoot as well may not have, any extra cost is worth it to an infinite degree. Loss of a few hundred bucks or even a thousand bucks vs. a lesser gun, in the extraordinarily unlikely event that it’s confiscated, doesn’t make the considerations list AT ALL.
BTW: this should not be interpreted as to suggest I think expensive guns are better. Again, I’d simply advise carrying the reliable gun that you shoot the best. Price point is not a factor in that at all.
BTW #2: if I’m involved in some sort of shooting that makes the news, I don’t want a Kel-Tec with a strap of bicycle tire inner tube around the grip to be the gun that’s pictured in every article under my mug shot. I’d gladly pay a thousand bucks to have America see this classy P7 instead! 🙂

Exactly correct! If I’m honest, the cigars can be a little bit hit-or-miss there, but their “Red Label” Sun Grown are awesome and really affordable. They had a flash sale for $3.50 a pop a few weeks ago, so I re-stocked. But even at normal prices, depending on size, you can get ’em for around $5 and they’re really a very good, enjoyable stick.

That’s some cool shiz-nit! I like the color case hardening and the gold bar. Spot prices on gold and silver went down recently and I bought a bunch of silver bullion. I find precious metals as interesting as ordnance grade steel.

And NAA wants $400 for theirs, even tho it looks serious cool. After spending four hundred clams on a NAA mini, I’d hate to have to relegate it to safe queen and BBQ belt-buckle status.

It’s a different one. You can’t CCH stainless. I gifted my Mini to someone after picking up the CCH one which, yes, is carbon steel. Honestly, I’d stick with the stainless one. Much more useful without worries for the longevity of the finish. If you get a CCH one then, yeah, it’s well-suited for keeping in a display box in your office or on the wall or something, or wearing in a belt buckle to BBQs like you said. Or range use, sure, but not typical carry use.
