To Person that wrote the article. Be careful with “Wilderness” reference. Designated Wilderness areas are off limits to wheeled vehicles/conveyance. No bikes, red wagons, deer carriers etc. Special permission is needed even to do a helicopter rescue/medivac.

I have a fat-tired e-bike, and love it! I get as good of a workout, maybe better, than with my standard Trek – but I can go ten times as far. I live near a state forest with all sorts of gated roads that are off-limits to gas or diesel, but fine for bicycles. There some decent fishing and potential hunting out there, too.
For packing while riding, I wear my Alaska Guide chest holster with a TRP Operator Long Slide 10mm. The forest where my wife and I typically ride is maybe 10 miles from where a cougar recently killed a bike rider – so it’s worthwhile to carry for certain.
Any brand recommendation? I’m totally in the market; hiking back to my stands is disruptive, and some of these hills are brutal, sweat-inducing even on the coldest mornings. It seems to me gliding back there (and up some of those brutal hills) seems a viable alternative but I don’t want to make the wrong decision here.
I HAVE A SCHWINN FROM 40 YEARS AGO AND SO DOES THE WIFE . WE SEEM TO BE DOING GREAT AND LOSING WEIGHT AND BUILDING UP KNEE .
With a top speed of 16 mph that’s still 3x the rate a person jogs. I don’t commute anymore since my new job is so close to home, still at 16 mph, I’ll be there in two minutes…………
This would be a terrific aid to my spot and stalk type of hunting as well as getting to my fixed stands and blinds on my property.
