This is the UK we’re talking about, where civilian firearms ownership is pretty much out of the question, they’re talking about grinding the tips off of kitchen knives and if you have the temerity to actually defend yourself in your own home, plan on being charged and imprisoned.

So when Man City forward Raheem Sterling exhibited a tattoo of a rifle — an assault rifle! — on the pitch recently, the pearl-clutching reaction of English society was everything you’d expect it to be.

Lucy Cope, who founded Mothers Against Guns after her son Damian was shot dead outside a club in central London in 2002, told the newspaper the tattoo was “totally unacceptable”.

“We demand he has the tattoo lasered off or covered up with a different tattoo,” she said. “If he refuses he should be dropped from the England team. He’s supposed to be a role model but chooses to glamorise guns.”

But if British hoplophobes could manage to raise their heads from their fainting couches for a moment or two, they might find out that Sterling’s motive for the AR-styled ink is appropriately (for the UK) anti-gun.

…Sterling explained the tattoo’s significance in his Instagram post.

“When I was two my father died from being gunned down to death,” the 23-year-old said. “I made a promise to myself I would never touch a gun in my life time, I shoot with my right foot so it has a deeper meaning.”

He said the tattoo had not yet been finished.

Some seem to also attribute the criticism Sterling’s getting to racism, classism, or simple envy of a highly paid athlete. For our part, we’re more than willing believe that the UK, their media and opinion leaders are more than hoplophobic enough to have brought about all the criticism. Good luck, Mr. Sterling.

    • He’s originally from Jamaica, but you do realize they’re referring to nationality in the article, yes?

      • English isn’t a nationality. There is no English passport. UK or British citizen should have been used if that were what they meant, as he still is not British anymore than I’d magically become Chinese by moving to China. But it wasn’t the intention. There is an active cultural war to displace such distinctions and make sure Europe is no longer made up of nation states of European peoples.

        • England is a country. It is part of the United Kingdom. England (and Scotland, not sure about Wales or Northern Ireland) sends its own team to the World Cup as well as to the European tournaments.

So in the context of playing football/soccer, he is English, because he plays on the English team.

Also I will point out that most of my ancestors immigrated to America from Europe. And the rest immigrated to America from Siberia. And originally, they all emigrated from central Africa. But I’d call myself an American with European and Native American ancestry, just like I’d call this guy an Englishman with Jamaican ancestry.

  1. England today is a truly frightening place.

A few days back, a reporter was sentenced to 13 months in prison for the egregious crime of reporting about a criminal trial of a man accused of grooming children for sex –

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/6399523/tommy-robinson-jailed-for-13-months-after-breaking-contempt-of-court-laws/

Let that sink in – ‘Progressives’ in this country want nothing more than to emulate England’s laws…

    • 1984 has come to life in the UK. Tommy Robinson’s arrest and summary trial are actively scrubbed from the UK media.

History is being re-written as we speak. Sadly, two world wars have reduced the breeding gene pool to the LCD, and the welfare state is only accelerating doom.

      England is lost.

  2. Fascism did land on GB. It just took a long ass time to get there. Hitler was playing 73d chess this whole time.

    • I’ve heard it said all the real men in England were chewed through via two World Wars, all we have now are the offspring of the leftovers.
Sorry to see that country come to this.
      🤠

      • That can be said of Germany just as well. Several prominent Germans (including Hitler) alluded to Germany having lost the vast majority of her strongest and brightest earlier in the war. Couple that with the self hatered and leftist education in post war Germany and you end up where we are today with a shortage of men of strength and tradition. And the government, media, and their SJW lackeys are all quick to demonize what few remain as Nazis because they have any insistence on tradition and speak out against importing replacement populations. Strangely enough, it is the socialists who are throwing around the accusatory slander of “Nazi” at all political opponents.

        • {Germany}

“Strangely enough, it is the socialists who are throwing around the accusatory slander of “Nazi” at all political opponents.”

The *exact* same thing is happening in the US.

It’s almost as if they are both using the same playbook…

        • Germany tried to expel, then exterminate the Jews, who wanted only to be at the apogee of German culture.

Now Germany is letting in hundreds of thousands of Islamists who want only to destroy German (and Western) culture.

Three times in a hundred years, the Germans have tried to destroy Europe.

          Third time’s a charm…

        • “It’s almost as if they are both using the same playbook…”

Almost? The International Left plays the long game, and uses the same playbook with minor variations wherever it strikes. Part of their strategy is based on controlling language.

So when Uncle Joe Stalin had to justify being at war with his Leftist political brethren, the Nationalist Socialist Party (Nazis) he just waved his magic wand and redefined this far-Left movement as “Right-wing”. And so it has remained, in the minds of the sheeple, ever since. People are so used to being brainwashed and so compliant because of their ignorance, they totally miss the irony of fascist tactics being used in a fake anti-fascist (Antifa) war against a political system that is, by its very definition the enemy of fascism.

  3. The UK is now effectively the world’s largest group home for the developmentally disabled, surrounded by the world’s deepest moat.

  4. I’d harass him too….but only because tattoos are stupid. That’s okay though, ignorant people strangely always want to clearly advertise that they are stupid…that’s why they get tattoos in the first place. So in the end, it helps me judge them from a distance. Pigs like mud, they just do.

    • Judgemental much? Bloviate much? Opinions and a-holes, right? Everyone has one and both of yours stink. GFY upitty dbag. While I’d love to tattoo a cock with wings on your forehead I think the mushroom bruise I’ll leave on your cheek will suffice.

  5. He grew up in Jamaica, apparently his father was murdered there. Despite a complete ban on Jamaican’s owning guns (therefore it should be a Utopian paradise, no?), their murder rate is horrific. That shows me that murder rates in a country are to do with the inhabitants and culture, not the permissiveness (or not) of the gun laws.

The hysterical British grabbers getting their panties in a wad over what is just an image isn’t surprising at all. They should be directing their ire at those who intend to cause harm, not the tool used during the commissioning of that harm.

  6. “When I was two my father died from being gunned down to death,” the 23-year-old said. “I made a promise to myself I would never touch a gun in my life time, I shoot with my right foot so it has a deeper meaning.”

So he is an ANTI-Gunner too……

  7. and if your dad had been hit by a non-drunk driver and killed would you vow to never drive? didn’t think so. idiot logic.

  8. Did Americans die for nothing defending England???
Did we just delay the totalitarian takeover of the English people 70 years ago?

  9. If this footballer were pro gun, which apparently he is not, a position entirely up to the man himself, a proper response to critics would be a very British, Piss Off Mate.

  10. “Did Americans die for nothing defending England???
Did we just delay the totalitarian takeover of the English people 70 years ago?”

Kind of looks like it, doesn’t it?

And it’s not just pictures of guns that have the Brits freaking out. When they banned guns, to reduce the number of murders, the murder rate kept going up. Lately there were more murders in London than in NYC in the same time frame. Gun crime has gone up 11%. Deprived of easy access to guns, the garden variety violent offender just started using a knife, and now British politicians are talking about restricting knife ownership. “Who needs a long sharp pointy knife in the kitchen?” bleats some British pol, who wants ownership restricted to short blades, with their points ground down.

Bad guys started throwing acid on people, so they want to restrict access to corrosive materials.

It has evidently not occurred to them to hunt down violent criminals and put them away for life, and to shoot back at those who shoot first. Poor Churchill wouldn’t recognize today’s British citizens, the people he praised for their courage when he said about them, in defense of England,

”… we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be.

We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender…”

England was not brought to its knees by guns and bombs, but by the words of the Left, whispered in gullible ears. England was not defeated, it just gave up.
