Chris Bushnell is the owner of Cypress Collectibles and patchaddict.com and sent us the following:

I am the owner of an embroidered patch company right here in Austin. Today I got a call from eBay saying that I cannot sell our 2nd Amendment patches that have an image of an AR-15 on them. eBay told me on the phone that they will be removing all clothing items this week from eBay that have an AR-15 or any assault rifle on them. That includes my patches, plus hats, t-shirts, and more.

If you search eBay today for “AR15” you only get about 1,400 results. Yesterday it would have literally been tens of thousands. Hats, shirts, and our Austin-based company’s patches are all banned because the snowflakes can’t handle even seeing a PICTURE of a black rifle. eBay is banning the word AR-15 and “assault rifle. They say, “This includes references in the title, item specifics, description or image”

Sure enough typing “AR15” or “AR-15” into eBay’s search bar yields just over 1400 items. Searching for “assault rifle” returns over 23,000 items including M4 airsoft guns, toy AK’s and a t-shrit with the image of an AR printed on it.

TTAG has called eBay for comment but hasn’t yet received a response. The other-ing of guns and the people who own them continues apace.

      • Good for eBay. Maybe this will help all those gun patch addicts. Seems every pack and bag around here has enough morale patches hanging off it to put a smile on north korea. Heck, don’t these toads know that it used to be charms, then rabbits feet, then beany babies, then stuffed animals, then stickers, then lapel pins, and now so called morale patches. I think the last dozen gun products I ordered arrived with free patches.

Hmm, maybe thats why the neighbors are so excited about digging through my garbage. Looking for treasures that I can’t throw away fast enough.

  1. So f-ing depressing. If this population had to do WWII again, we’d lose–big time.

The Germans had “real” assault rifles. The horrors.

    • If we had to do WW2 over again it’d be over in 15 minutes or 15 years, in both cases without a winner….. and I dont think the Russians would be willing to do 85% of the fighting, killing, and dying again….. but, ya, I see where you’re going with that comment. There were pleanty of snowflakes back then too (commies, 4H’ers, nazi sympathizers, isolationists, etc), we just beat them up. Thats the same generation that passed the machinegun tax stamp act and banned short barreled long-guns and suppressors in their youth. They then went on to pass the 1968 GCA in their elder years.

      • 4H? what the hell did 4H do? Is there some sort of FFA vs 4H rivalry I’m not aware of? That would have made either of them much cooler in my eyes

      • It’s a draft classification, but I think he means 4E, not 4H.

The H is either stand alone or an add-on, and refers to your age. 4H was a deferment indicating that the individual was between age 28 and 45. I don’t think he meant that they went around beating up these guys.

4E, on the other hand, was also a deferment status, but for conscientious objectors, aka, cowards. These people I could see him beating up on. There was also 4E-H, which just meant a coward between 28 and 45.

    • I’ve long said this. My parents lived through rationing of everything- food, tires, etc. Dad was way too to be drafted. Can you imagine the unrest that would occur if people had to be drafted because of another world war? Can you imagine what the military would look like filled with pampered snowflakes?

      • The active duty military is badass, as are much of the reserves and national guard units.

Beyond that. If we had to draft civilians off the street, I wouldn’t be confident in so much as another invasion of Genada.

  2. Cue the FUDDs with “it’s their sandbox/their rules can do any damn thing they want.

Progtard extension of BS as protected by the 1st extends both ways. Not just as giggle/fakebook dictate.

    • Well, it’s true, it is their sandbox. Doesn’t make it right, though. Nationalizing eBay is all kinds of worse wrong, which is what you are proposing. Yeah, a government database of your every transaction & feedback record; what could go wrong?

What’s needed is the government to stop protecting eBay from stifling its competition. Guarantee if you do some research, you’d find eBay is quite diligent at snapping up or shutting down upstart bid outfits whenever they can. That’s not free market at all, and there are laws against it, but an incestuous relationship between corporations and government keeps these rules selectively enforced at best (and usually against the outfits and practices they are supposed to protect)

  3. EBay flagged and pulled my Butler Creek mini 14 folding stocks because they are assault rifles. I explained they were empty stocks, the firearms are obviously not in them. They stated they are not allowing assault weapon accessories. I called and closed my account of 15 years. They told me they didn’t care.

    • I’ve made a lot of money selling gun related products on ebay.
Looks like I’ll switch to a different platform.

    • Well, according to the hoplophobes the Mini-14 is not one of their “Assault Weapons” … in fact, under their proposed 2018 Assault Weapons Ban the Mini-14 with wooden (non-folding) stock is on a list of exempted firearms. (Even though it takes the same magazines as an AR-15 and fires the same ammunition- which shows they don’t know shot about guns).

    • “The shaming continues.”

      That’s the plan.

Any image of a gun will be deemed to be the moral equivalent of the ‘Confederate Battle Emblem’.

Another step on the road to Part 2, ‘Electric Boogaloo’…

  4. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, people, because it’s just patches and other silly junk, not the actual AR killing machines that take our children’s lives. AR machine guns account for over 90% of all murders in the United States: a ban on these will drop the murder rate by at least that.

    • I have to say I do believe you are the dumbest Son-Of-AHHH-B-itch I have ever encountered…

“Machine Guns”! You make stupid look good.

    • It’s just bump stocks, ERPO’s, 18-20 year olds, waiting periods, Unconstitutional confiscation, Wal-Mart, Dicks sporting goods, You Tube, Ebay, Target, Kroger, Fred Meyers, Spring field armory, REI, SPLC, AMA, FUDDS, RHINOS, Air lines, Insurance companies, Hollywood, AARP, Celebrities, All major main stream News outlets, Donald Trump, Social media, Face book, Google, Yahoo, comedians, Microsoft, Apple, California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Washington, Florida.

You better pull your head out of your ass we’re in a all out-full on culture war for our rights. If the 2A falls they ALL fall!

  5. I bought some single point slings last week. I got an e-mail from ebay yesterday saying the seller’s account had been closed. The items had already shipped.

  7. POTG BETTER READ AND REMEMBER THESE RULES!
    THEY’RE BEING USED AGAINST US!

    Saul Alinsky: Rules for Radicals

“Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.”
“Never go outside the expertise of your people.”
“Whenever possible go outside the expertise of the enemy.”
“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
“A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”
“A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”
    “Keep the pressure on.”
“The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”
“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.”
“If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside”
“The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

    • Everyone thinks Alinsky is some sort of military genius when the tactics he advocates have more or less been employed for hundreds of years, if not thousands.

Then again, liberals probably don’t read Sun Tzu, Clausewitz or Machiavelli.

      • And none of those guys were really saying anything new or particularly wise, either (for example, The Art of War contains a ton of contradictory recommendations for every scenario, but they each sound cool and mystical. The Prince was mostly written satirically, lampooning how cold and calculating royal leaders are supposed to act, vs. how they actually behaved)

        • a “whois” look up is great to find out info on a website. Gun Broker website is host deep in the heart of Libtardland.
an assigned physical position in Beverly Hills, California, United States
That is sum funny warm brown stinky stuff right dare I am tellin ya. They lease the name from one of the big name hoarding sites.
The bigger issue is when amazon who has some anti AR rules, starts refusing to host websites, yet they LOVE to host DoD data. https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/dod/
He who controls the data/info controls the world.

      • Some how I kind of doubt that, unless it’s a hostile takeover. Ebay has put politics ahead of business for years, and Gunbroker started and grew as a direct result of eBay bans.

Fun fact; wikipedia says Gunbroker is the third largest auction site behind…eBay motors and eBay.

Must be that shrinking number of gunowners I keep hearing about.

      • Wbat about this whois entry makes you think Gun Broker is owned by eBay?

Their Wikipedia entry shows them to be an independent company based in Atlanta, GA

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GunBroker.com

        Are you deliberately spreading FUD?

ETA: I think I know what i1uluz did. He probably did a whois on gunbroker.com’s IP address. Their public IP is an Incapsula CDN anycast address. Incapsula, based in Redwood Shores, CA, provides DDoS protection and WAF services. One of they ways they work is to obscure the host IP of the protected server.

I don’t know where the “Beverly Hills” location he references comes from.

  8. MID-TERM ELECTIONS ARE COMING.

THE EVIL POS (D) AND RINOS ARE GOING TO BE UP AGAINST A NUCLEAR WINTER.

    OR, A NUCLEAR SUMMER.

  9. Here I thought eBay was just for the buying and selling of shitty knock-off slip on exhaust kits, beanie babies and broken deal people found in their garage…

All of which can be purchased cheaper and locally with a variety of phone apps.

  10. Remember when the TTAG wasn’t (nearly) ALL about the stupid liberal F’ers of this world?

It’s hard for me to, as well.

Those looking for an explosive kick-off to the next civil war will be late to react as this one started before the last one.

    Don’t be confuse-able with a liberal POS (D) or a rino.

  11. CA (ca) Gov. Jerry Brown POS Mfn (D) just said that Trump’s lawsuit against CA sanctuary laws “was pretty much an act of war against California”.

Ha ha, he said “pretty much” because he’s not ready, and the rest of America is chomping at the bit.

Broke (D)1<K evil POS (D) MF.

  12. A very real downside to all this is that these things will all move over to gunbroker. The reason why it’s a downside is that our actual firearm searches will be cluttered with eBay crap

  13. eBay can go straight to hell. What the f is going on? This ain’t no 1994 shitstorm, this is total planned confiscation

    • More accurate term is “cultural revolution” and as any student of history knows, it means we need to be incredibly wary of any invitations to ‘discuss’ or ‘converse’ with the opposition about the issues. They’re already done talking, they’re just taking names at this point.

  14. The algorithms and bots that flag this kind of crap are not very smart so take all your images and rotate them about 15 or so degrees and then munge the text to read something like ^r-15 .

    • So, you think that after all this, we should still be routing our commerce through these bastards, giving them a cut of the grease for the pleasure of slitting our throats?

  15. Now if the patch was made in pink and shaped like a dildo in front part of the AR15. Would eBay allow it for sale?

I try to stay off of eBay in buying anything these days.

  16. Well that sucks but I can’t say I’m surprised. I just got a 20% off coupon from Ebay this morning and went to look at buying some AR parts I was wanting but almost everything is gone now. Trash.

  17. I think that this is bigger than many think here. One of the beauties of the AR-15 platform is its modularity. You can buy an 80% complete lower receiver, finish it, and then add parts that you got over the Internet, and have a completely legal, untraceable, AR-15 type firearm. This strikes straight at the “add parts that you got over the Internet” part of that equation. Yes, in the short run, you can probably get around eBay’s filters by rotating the images, and fudging the text, but, ultimately, they will probably refine their filter algorithms enough to pick out much of that.

I, for one, am going to see if I can forego using eBay. Aren’t using it that much anyway, but it has been useful over the years picking up handgun magazines at a great price, so will miss it. Still, I tend to use Amazon a lot more these days – and if they go gun grabbling SJW, I don’t know what I will do.

  18. These searches netted the following:

    All categories:

    100,628 results for ar-15

    Men’s T-Shirts:

    44,750 results for ar-15

Public Enemy said it the best:
