Sad, but true. He happily signed the Assault Weapons Ban in MA. Mitt joined the NRA as a life member just 3 months before he started running for Pres the first time, then proclaimed his support for gun rights. BLAHHHHHH

Yea, but I can see that Socialist John Kerry pleading that he’s had a Come to Jesus moment and sees the error of his ways (and I expect he’ll mean it as much as Mitt does). After all, it looks like the country is tilting red this year.

So here is the big question: If Mitt and Obama were our choices for the election, who would you choose to uphold our rights? Obama has said in the past that he supports gun control, but has not done anything about it. Mitt signed one of the worst gun laws in the United States, but now he says that he would not support such a bill. Which is worse?
At that juncture, I would vote the person who has proven himself as someone who wants to destroy our economy out of office (Obama) and take Mitt – I know, lesser of two evils.
Now that you mention it, Obama did appoint multiple Supreme Court Justices who voted against DC v Heller. Imagine if he replaced more justices in his second term.

Sorry mike, but the AWB story is true. According to news reports of the time, since the 1998 MA assault weapons ban relied on definitions in Federal Law, when the Federal Ban expired the MA ban would have expired. Mitt signed a new law in place making a permanent AWB. This is on him and your organization GOAL. GOAL seems to have been operating on the same theory the NRA used to have, trade away the rights of ugly gun owners so that hunters and target shooters aren’t stigmatized. How’s that working out for Mass now? Mitt’s new-found respect for the 2nd amendment is completely inauthentic, as is his whole character. I will vote for him over Barry, but I cannot respect him.

Mitt Romney doesn’t flip flop, he lies. That’s what politicians do, and he’s quite a politician.
Romney is a waffler just like Giuliani and even Obama(Obama was against the PATRIOT Act before becoming POTUS, now he is all for it).
Sure he did some good things for the RKBA cause while he was governor but he is firmly in the Fudd camp when it comes to the second amendment.
He says he voted to extend MA’s AWB because it was somewhat beneficial but it also made it permanent. He could have vetoed it but he chose not to. Now he is running for president and joining the NRA and suddenly he is against the healthcare thing.
Plain and simple, he is a scummy politician who will do and say anything to get elected.
Looks like we’ll have to elect an honest person to be President like Ron Paul. He’s also the most pro-gun candidate running. win-win.

There’s a hair’s breadth difference between Obama and Romney on pretty much any issue. I know many on the right like to think Obama is some sort of commie, but he makes Eisenhower (or even Nixon) look like Trotsky. In general, we put way too much emphasis on the presidential choice. The President is not really in charge of much. Obama has carried on the Bush foreign policy, because that’s the established policy. I think both sides would prefer to see us pleebs disarmed. The Repubs just can’t say it out loud.
Agree. I really do not trust the Democrats or the Republicans. I have really seen some flaming liberal Republicans that might as well have been Communists. Party labels are not very reliable.
Maybe a bunch of democrat lemmings can vote for Romney next year instead of the Great Golfer safe in the belief he supports more gun laws. Mitt can then disappoint them by not banning anything. A wins a win.
I am not happy with Mitt’s stance on firearms; he makes me very uneasy.
But I cannot vote for Barack Obama……period…..the end!
