As our Bruce Krafft pointed out, notice that the site of the mock shooting is a posted, gun free zone. How great is that?

  1. And how great is it that immediately after showing the “No Guns” sign on the door, the narrator’s very next words are, “You need to be prepared for the worst”..

    ..except no guns, right??

And why is FIGHT, the last option?

    • “Fight” is the last option because this is for people who are not trained or equipped to deal with the threat.

    • you should always avoid a fight if possible. nobody comes to work expecting to be in the middle of a slaughter, so running and hiding would probably be the best options for the untrained and unprepared unless they had no other choice…

  2. I thought that was well done for the average individual who knows nothing about “active murderer” situations. I appreciated the narrator mentioning that first responders are not there to help the frightened and wounded because their first mission is to take out the threat. I do wish they had addressed the fact that while office buildings provide concealment, anything other than masonry is not cover. I recently heard Lt Col (Ret) Dave Grossman comment that the Boston Massacre had five victims, the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre had six victims and the recent mass murders in “gun-free zones” are unprescedented. He also insisted we not call these people “shooters” because we are shooters, they are murderers.

  3. Agree that this is a good message overall for the average citizen. Showing the “gun free zone” message on the front door was not an accident, I don’t think, though how they missed the irony is beyond me. The anti-gunner’s faith in rules and laws is fascinating. My neighbor and best friend was over for a couple of beers last night and we got on the topic of gun free zones. He kept repeating, “I don’t want to have to worry about someone having a gun on them when I go to the movies.” I tried several different ways to explain that a small rule against carrying a gun into a theater will carry weight only with those who care about small rules, and anyone prepared to break the really big rule against shooting people in a theater (like the Aurora murderer) could not care less about small rules. A lot of people just don’t like the idea of how uncontrollable the events in our lives can be, and they add rules and laws because it gives them the sense that they’ve actually done something.

    • Phil, the reality is that is the way sheep think, somebody in ‘authority’ will take care of me…..whether it is government, police, etc……bet if ‘it’ hits the fan, your best friend will seek you out, so be prepared to help him, too. be a sheepdog.

The Joker said the same thing in The Dark Knight.

  4. Everybody in DHS had to take this training, which was part of an interactive computer course. “Everybody”, included the armed agents and officers. We were not happy with this message being sent to us from on high. As part of the training, the employee was to type in a message block what he or she was supposed to do during an active shooter incident. I typed: 1. Find the bastard 2. Shoot the bastard 3. Secure the scene. Of course, when I submitted my answer, the computer displayed the correct answer which was: run, hide, fight.

  5. Very well put together and very well narrated. I’m going to pass this on to the CEO of the company I work for and maybe a Town Hall or something can be done. I’ve watched this twice and missed the gun free zone posting. The narrator modulates and emphasizes very well. I would have suggested moving all screaming women to the rear if a last stand is eminent, otherwise command them to STFU.

  6. Okay after three tries I finally saw the posting on the front, door, and the group preparing to fight did move the screamer to the rear…I liked the soundtrack too…I felt like I was watching 24…Im gonna go pop some popcorn and watch it again…I’m still trying to figure out why they made bicycle dude come to the building…

  7. Well, they looked like the typical office drones–condition white, including the security guard. I like my improvised weapon to be a .45 a.c.p., but that’s just me. There was one hidden piece of good information. When the police finally get on the scene, good guys with guns had better have them concealed again and had better be especially compliant.

  8. “you need to be prepared for the worst”
OK, gun owners know how to prepare and what to do.

Colonel Sam Houston and all the honorable men who died at the Alamo would be disgusted that Texans are now being encouraged by government to go unarmed and be dependent on government to save them from being slaughtered.

  9. Actually this is an expansion of “work place violence” education wherein the federally certified instructor add ” if cornered, soil yourself to make you an unattractive victim”. When this training was adopted for my old agency, I retired (quickly).

    • LOL…

The killer may just shoot you out of disgust if you soil yourself. As in they feel even more so you don’t deserve to live because you couldn’t be more adult, but had to soil yourself like a little kid.

(my laugh isn’t because its funny, but out of the sheer stupidity of the advice.)

    • Great video and with the perps pictures at the end. There was a song that would fit in well from a ’70s film ‘Warriors’ that included the lyrics ‘you got no where to run to no where to hide’.

    • Did anyone notice the gal with the red hair that simply covers her ears, stands still for a spell, and then slowly walks … almost bumping into the armed citizen as he chases the criminals?!?!?!?

Um, how about getting down, moving away, looking for cover?

  10. This kind of reminds me of the book teeth of the tiger by tom clancy, two brothers, a marine and FBI agent, are in a gun free mall when jhiadists decide to shoot it up, they a both carrying and engage the terrorists and end up taking them out.

    • On American soil, depressed students shoot more people than jihadis do. Weird isn’t it? Why rely on poorly made underwear bombs (not Wendy’s) when an AK variant would be cheaper, easily available, and more reliable? If they “hated urrr freedoms” so much spree-shootings would work. Score one for gun-control (it’s about national security you Rednecks!) in such an event.

  11. I like that the people outside at 4:30 are hiding behind electrical equipment and wall near the building.
Behind them? A clear path to the other side of the parking lot so they wouldn’t have to hide NEXT TO THE BUILDING.

  12. But wait, there was a “no guns” sign on the door. Doesn’t that keep everyone safe? And it sure looked like the attacker had a short barreled shotgun. Aren’t those illegal?
    /end sarcasm

  13. BS! You should have a CCW, and be armed at all times. YOU are responsible for your personal protection and that of your loved ones. Move towards the target and engage the target.
