State Representative Katherine Rogers faces charges for battering gun rights advocate

Politicians behaving badly could be a regular series on its own. Just yesterday, a radical leftist Missouri State Representative tweeted her hope for President Trump’s assassination. Now, a New Hampshire State Representative Katherine Rogers (above) faces charges for battering a gun rights advocate.

The incident occurred during a recount from last fall’s election. Susan Olsen, a gun rights advocate, says that Rep. Rogers slugged her during a recount proceeding. To make matters worse, Olsen also alleges the former state’s attorney then tried to bait Olsen into hitting her back.

Olson wasn’t having any of it, though. Now, several months after the incident, the wheels of justice have turned out criminal charges against the pugilistic politician.

The Concord Patch has the story

CONCORD, NH — A local state representative has been charged with assault in Concord District Court and is scheduled to be arraigned in late September, according to court documents. The charge was filed against Katherine Rogers, 61, pictured left, of Alton Woods Drive in Concord, on Aug. 7, 2017, by the New Hampshire State Police. According to a complaint, on Nov. 16, 2016, during the recount for the District 7 state Senate seat held at the state archives building, Rogers allegedly struck Susan Olsen, a 2nd Amendment activist and former state Rep. candidate from Warner, “with a semi-closed right hand squarely on (her) left ear.”

But, as the late Billy Mays would say, that’s not all!

[Susan Olsen] alleged that Rogers, a former county attorney, countered, “in a low, mocking, angry whisper,” something to the effect of “Hit me. I know you want to. Go ahead. Hit me.”

Olsen claimed that Rogers was “smirking” while she was speaking and then, reportedly leaned in further, “sounding almost like she was daring me,” and allegedly stated, “I know what you want to do. You want to shoot me.”

Could the violent state rep’s behavior reflect a case of psychological projection? We couldn’t possibly comment.

Either way, Rogers has a September 29th court date for her arraignment.

  1. You mean to tell me the “gun rights advocate” didn’t start shooting everyone in the room?
    Impersoball!@!@!!!!!

  2. Good for Susan Olsen for not hitting back. It is much more useful to put that nasty old leftist skank in jail. Yet another Democrat politician with a criminal record, so fitting since they represent the Antifa crowd.

  3. how is it any different than Kathy Griffen? her ass should have been arrested. if a conservative had done that with Obama’s head during his time, he would have been jailed immediately.

    • One difference is that Ms. Griffin did not strike anyone, and most likely any perceived threat of violent harm was negligible.

  4. I love how all these leftist gun-hating people who claim to be so afraid of our rights to carry still seem brave enough to physically assault people they have every reason to believe are carrying a loaded firearm!

Are they just stupid or do they really know that POTG are highly unlikely to shoot ANYONE without a really good reason, which a box on the ear from a 61 year old Progressive Dem harridan is not?

    • Generally speaking, leftist are not the brightest bulbs in the box. I can’t say scientifically that one thing causes the other, but the two things are no doubt highly correlated. /;-)

  5. Six months. We’re only six lousy months in, just one-eighth of a four-year presidential term.

And yet here we already are.

I’m telling you, ‘Something Wicked, This Way Blows’.

And with more than a touch of vicious glee, I’m kinda looking forward to it…

    • Can’t say I disagree. The left is going completely off the rails. Slate just flat out called for blowing up Mt. Rushmore. This is going to end in a civil war. What’s kinda amazing to me is that the left is literally picking a fight with the people who have been preparing for this for the past eight years. I predict that someone will take a shot at Trump, should they succeed or even if they fail, the fecal matter will hit the rotary air impeller on a level not seen since weimar Germany.

      • I hope you’re wrong but that seems like where things are headed. It’s also scary how desensitized we’re getting to news stories (like th Mt Rushmore piece etc) that 20 years ago, you’d think were made up in the Onion.

        • I use the term ‘coping skills’ as a back-handed slap. But there’s more than a grain-o-truth in it.

          Meaning – Kübler-Ross’s 5 stages of grief.

1 – Denial – The first reaction is denial. In this stage individuals believe the diagnosis is somehow mistaken, and cling to a false, preferable reality.

2- Anger – When the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue, they become frustrated, especially at proximate individuals. Certain psychological responses of a person undergoing this phase would be: “Why me? It’s not fair!”; “How can this happen to me?”; “Who is to blame?”; “Why would this happen?”.

We saw the Leftists move from stage 1 into stage 2 rather rapidly. On election night, actually.

And then, something happened. They got frozen on stage 2 to 3, and haven’t progressed through the remaining stages.

3 – Bargaining – The third stage involves the hope that the individual can avoid a cause of grief.

Remember “Hillary really won, she had the popular vote! If only we ran Bernie!

It’s kinda ironic that the Leftists, who call themselves ‘Progressive’, can’t progress *themselves*, through the remaining stages:

          4 – Depression – “I’m so sad, why bother with anything?”; “I’m going to die soon, so what’s the point?”;

Well, I do wish a lot of them would off themselves. *snicker* 😉

5 – Acceptance – “It’s going to be okay.”; “I can’t fight it; I may as well prepare for it.”

They are locked, frozen on stages 2-3 of the 5 stages of grief.

And *we* are the ones paying for *their* lack of coping skills…

      • I’ve heard our current and recent political climate descibed as a “Cold Civil War.” If it should happen to turn hot, millions could die, mostly noncombatants.

I’m hoping instead that circumstances spiral up to massive, nationwide, peaceful protests, culminating in a legal, constitutional convention where the country can be divided into at least two new nations.

        • “…culminating in a legal, constitutional convention where the country can be divided into at least two new nations.”

That could get very dicey, as I understand it. Conceptually, I like it. If the Leftists really are that miserable, get them the fuck out of *my* country…

        • Just allow Calexit and let the Lefties all move there with a singular caveat: no backsies. You move out, you stay out.

Of course any “two nation” solution is inherently flawed because it would create another Venezuela right on our border and then we’d have two failed states butting up against our country and it wouldn’t be long before the narcos controlled both.

        • There’s absolutely no need for any violence. Just vote on it county by county and let folks decide between Nanny Freeloader Government and Capitalist Self-reliant Government. Those folks who don’t like the way their county votes can move to one they like.
All ballots have voter fingerprint on them and get canvassed for fraud. Capitol punishment for anyone voting multiple times.
Trumpwalls can be built around the big blue cities for ideological containment.

        • There are plenty of nations already, especially if you want guns banned. People can move to Canada with little trouble or effort. What I’m saying is, if we divided the US, the same jackasses who will not move to Canada or Britain are certainly not going to move from TX to NY when the country is so divided. And there is no reason to effect such a compromise or agreement, their demands are illegal under the constitution, tell them to STFU and ignore them unless and until they need shooting.

      • Pretty sure the calls to blow up Mt. Rushmore started with Vice, though they may have moved on over to Slate.

Charlottesville has become a serious flashpoint where it’s now being publicly stated that, if you’re a Lefty, physical attacks on people you disagree with are acceptable because the ideas those are themselves inherently violent.

I hate to say it, but considering that Fox couldn’t find a single Republican to go on their channel and defend free speech, I think Geoff is right. Something foul is on the wind and part of that is a two pronged attack against the 1st and 2nd Amendments. A set of attacks that would appear to be fully backed by major sections of the media.

        • Yeah, I saw that story earlier this morning.

“Well, of course you have 1A rights, but your government highly recommends that you don’t use them…” is pretty much what I got out of it.

The cynical side of me suspects that this country is already circling the drain, but like the events that touched off WWI, it will only be plainly visible in hindsight.

        • If my speech is going to be treated exactly the same as actual violence, my civilized reluctance to engage in actual violence may as well disappear.

      • While the Democrats and RINOs stage their slow coup in Washington, BLM and Antifa are staging their fast coup on the streets.

If either are successful, there will be blood.

  6. A mentally unstable left winger? What a surprise! There used to be places for these people, but the dems wanted them on the street to vote.

  7. But… But… the NRA are the only ones who calling for radical violence against elected politicians!

How can this be? That democrats are trying to incite and execute actual violence, this must be fake news /s

  8. Well played, Susan Olsen! Even if that old gargoyle is convicted and just given probation it will be better than if you had struck her back. Sadly, eventually one (or more) of these violent-leftists will “trigger” someone lacking your forbearance and get beat to hell or stabbed, shot, etc. and then the Left and Media will go crazier than they already are. In the meantime, hopefully, the Federal DOJ will get even more aggressive in prosecuting these morons making death threats and calling for more violence.* I think the “tipping point” is getting nearer when Middle America will have had enough and start countering violence with violence. Then, to paraphrase Imperial Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, the Left will discover they “have awaken(ed) a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve.”

*Federal DOJ and Secret Service is “investigating” some of these incidents and possibly charging some persons, but part of the “investigation” is evaluating how “serious” the threat made is. No prosecution if not deemed actionably serious.

    • ” I think the “tipping point” is getting nearer when Middle America will have had enough and start countering violence with violence.”

Police investigative resources are *highly* limited. At the local level, they have enough to handle the current crime rate. Were that crime rate to soar, a tipping point will be reached where crime will go un-investigated.

Realizing no one will be investigating crime, they will be emboldened to commit more crime.

A ‘death spiral’ of crime itself will result, crime feeding on yet more crime.

Yeah, America could go *seriously* sideways…

      • That is already happening in the minority neighborhoods of our big blue cities.
Chiraq has a homicide solving rate of about 30%.

      • Good points! I agree and am not looking forward to it at all. We Americans have been Historically too good at killing each other en masse (620,000 in our Civil War 157 years ago) with laughably primitive weapons compared to today.

        • Bacteria and viruses killed 3/4 of those americans. Chinese, russians, colombians, Arabs (both ancient and modern) Mongolians, germans, and africans are good at killing themselves….. theres a reason why our civil war didn’t descend in to complete anarchy. Compared to other civil wars, ours was quite civil.

        • Yes, disease and infections from wounds took the heaviest toll, overall, but September 17, 1862, The Battle of Antietam, still holds the record for “the bloodiest day in American History” with 22,717 dead wounded or missing (and some sources put the number higher). The American Civil War was more “civil” in some ways than the conflicts you mentioned elsewhere, but when we got to seriously killing each other civility was largely absent.

          https://www.civilwar.org/learn/articles/civil-war-casualties

Some of the charts on that page fully bear-out your point about combat casualties versus disease, but I will stand by my concern that if another Civil War broke out we Americans will be too good at killing one another. The Fed could declare Martial Law, but even Federal Troops and all the State’s National Guard and Local/State Police would not amount to sufficient numbers to control the chaos (much less muster the will to do it). It would not be a “civil” affair.

We, here in California, may get dipped up to our eyeballs in blood over the moronic “CalExit” movement. The Federal Government is not going to give-up such a huge chunk of the Continental Coastline without a serious fight. All those Military Bases and Navy Ports surrendered to a bunch of Commies? I don’t think so…

        • On your 1st part regarding the civil war and casualties, I would say (along with Shelby Foote) that the AMERICAN casualties were so high because 100% of the casualties were American. Those 22,000 American casualties (dead, wounded, missing like you said) at Antietam were for both sides and for the whole battle. There were over 26,000 American casualties on Iwo Jima. 21,000 dead Americans + 55,000 wounded on Okinawa. In the 11-months that America fought in WW1 we suffered 53,000 dead + 202,000 wounded, with 26,000 killed and 96,000 wounded in one battle (meuse-argone). The civil war was a solid 4 years and the COMBAT deaths came out to 145 per day for a total fighting force (north and south) of 3,000,000 armed Americans. The American combat death rate during WWI was 160 per day for 4,600,000 armed Americans. The fact that everyday we have 360,000,000 people armed with 700,000,000 guns in this nation and we (to include all the homicidal psychopaths) only use 30 of them to kill (not to be confused with murder because that 30 number includes justifiable homicides) each other each day speaks volumes to our forbearance with each other.

Re: Calexit. What a joke. I agree the DNC will never let go of 10% of the US economy, 55 electoral votes, two of the most powerful senate seats, and the largest congressional voting block in America. Read up on the civil war and you’ll find that the Union Congressional Democrats were annihilated by secession. Without all the southern Democrats in the house and senate The Republicans passed all kinds of legislation and allowed the President all kinds of war powers that would have otherwise been compromised by Democrat obfuscation. Calexit existed as a laughable fringe commie thought experiment. California isn’t going anywhere, and if anything, it’s spreading its tentacles across the land. Look at Colorado, Washington, Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona. All going the way of California. There’s a reason why Austin, TX is referred to as B-Austin (pronounced “Boston”), and it’s not because it is strong conservative bulwark in the heart of Texas.

        • California Richard – I am well aware more Americans died in foreign wars, than in the Civil War. My remarks were based on Americans killing Americans in the Civil War solely and my concern about us going at each other again with much better weapons. The fact that our “peacetime” daily gun-involved death toll is so statistically low reflects the fact we are a peaceable people by and large, and , hopefully, the deterrent effect of civilian firearms ownership. If we could get the racial minorities to stop shooting each other at such a high rate, the figures would be much lower.

Insofar as “CalExit”, the “persons” backing this have no idea who all will fight it tooth and nail. The petition for a ballot measure in 2018 only requires 555,000 signatures to get on the 2018 ballot, and other petitions are in the works. It will be on the ballot, one way or another in 2018.

  9. And why shouldn’t the lefties use physical violence? They are empowered to do so. These days the message is “ok you have angered me with your views, speech, whatever so now I must physically attack you”. It’s not their fault they have been driven to such acts, YOU have made them mad so it’s perfectly ok to lash out. Remember the good old days when it wasn’t acceptable to use violence just because someone dared to have a differing opinion? The Democrats, and the media are in lock-step with this. It’s ok to lash out. Add to this that politicians of both parties are in fear for being branded as a “hater” so they won’t condemn this stuff. Corporations are in fear of reprisals so they condemn “hateful acts”, people want to erase history. Dip-shit antifa types are just looking for an excuse to brick someones face. It goes on and on. Expect it to get worse, the lunatics are running the asylum.

    • “It’s ok to lash out.”

… as long as you are a Democrat lashing out against a conservative. If you are a conservative lashing out against a Democrat, expect to spend years in prison and be blacklisted — which means unable to work anywhere ever again.

  10. Just because you can’t be trusted with the hands at the end of your arms, doesn’t mean I can’t be trusted with a gun.

(Anti gunners don’t want people having guns because they think the rest of us will act like they do.)

  11. It really makes you wonder if the Liberal Fascists – the Democrats – really want We The People to hit back. I am sure if she hit back, the news would neglect to say who started the fight. But, with the Progressives use of identity politics and harsh, personal, and violent attacks, it makes you wonder if they even have a clue what will happen to them if they ignite this very short fuse.

  12. I’m pretty sure Rogers violated some sort of federal civil rights law. Probably a felony, too. She should be investigated and sent to prison for a few years. (All depending on the circumstances).

    • Who’s “we” pale face. We’re 10x as violent, some people are just like house flies in that they are a little weak at and slow to sensing massing potential energy. And that doesn’t mean us, that means them.

The lesson harkens back to Carl Von Clausewitz: you are the commander that should not be caught wearing the ‘dress rapier’ [dress sword] when the enemy [while feigning “peace”] takes up ‘sharp sword’.
Again the idea is expandable from societal pairs to incorporated pairs in families, towns, states, and countries [16].
Let us not yet depart too far from the notion of implied individual obligation, with regard to the eradication of perceived threat. As a slightly tangential notion (to threat, but not to a society’s reaction to it), in translation to governance, and to the idea of the person in the circle (Figure 8 above); often, in the actions of the governors of the U.S. republic, it is remarked that silence [among the governed] equals consent to the actions of the governor.
This is not so however. Silence can as easily, and perhaps even more readily, indicate equal incredulity. And in their silence, in an effort to shade mounting answer to the perceived threat; individuals are drawing swords.
Silence, you will remember, is what you receive a little of, from the firing squad, before
you receive an eternity of it. [J.M. Thomas, R., TERMS, Pgs. 44-45]

  13. Certainly was a risk letting her get that close, Olsen could have gotten bitten.

My wife just turned 60 yesterday. I’m starting to appreciate her a lot more when I read articles like this.

  14. Calexit is starting to sond better and better every day. People who want to get out of cali can leave, and all those who want to move in can go. Once you are a california resident, you renounce your us citizenship and all rights to it. Permanently.
you will be treated like any oher country, except for one condition. You will not be allowed to immigrate back to the us for any reason.

    • No, they are a state that’s ratified the Constitution. (Unless they are forcefully seceding) They’d have to vote to de-ratify the Constitution, then secede. Enough of their citizens would club them to death before they get a de-ratification vote on a ballot, much less passed, and the rest of us would have little chance of even finishing them off.

They’ve allowed POS communists to run-for and hold office, they have diluted citizenship by allowing illegals and giving them driver’s licenses, and I for one would do those MFs some serious damage and run the MFs into the Pacific after they voted to secede, and I would take our part of America back from those aholes.

Who’s with me? FU, too late, you should have led the charge.

  15. One lady I play cards with was a blck panther back in the day. She is fine with firearm carrying, but she said that all those confederate statues were put up to celebrate slavery. She has to know better, her people cam from good stock that inherited the plantations they were on.

You can’t fix stupid. There is a lot of race hatred going on here, but much of it is from the left.

  16. To paraphrase a famous ex-seminarian from Georgia (in the Caucasus), “Sue, sue and sue some more.”

She’s unlikely to get more than a slap on the wrist in civil court.

The place to kick “her” in the nuts is civil court.

As the Brits say, “Put the boot in Susan, put the boot in!”

  17. Oh, I thought this was an article for that 1960’s move, The Time Machine. You mean that’s not a picture of a Morlock!

  18. Wait a minute here….. Gun Owners are supposed to be violent and constantly looking for reasons to shoot someone, anyone, all the time! How did this lovely old lady not get shot three hundred times in half-a-second when the gun owner, locked and loaded and ready to kill and living in perpetual fear of going to the market unarmed, emptied their automatic machine gun clipazine (with the shoulder thingie!)?

There is something fishy with this story……. it’s gotta be fake news or something.

/sarc for those who are humor-impaired.

  19. When are many here going to realize we are in a “Cold Civil War”? The attacks on us, our history, our culture, our Constitutionally guaranteed rights and our faith will only increase as the war “heats up”.

You are either with us or against us.

    #MAGA

  20. This woman – assuming the reporting is accurate, which these days . . . – needs a psych eval. She certainly does not belong in office – unless it’s a psychiatrist’s office. The Dems are now attracting the absolute dregs of society into their fold, where anything goes, including anarchy. I don’t think Americans want this or want any people like this in office. Hmmm – maybe that’s why Dems are going extinct! There’s an endangered species that we just need to let go . . .
