“‘When I saw three of them, I knew I was in a lot of trouble. I said, ‘The TV is the most expensive thing I own. You could take that through the front door and go with it,’ and they said, ‘No, the money, the money,’ said Erin.” That’s the story told by a Magnolia Texas woman upon being confronted by three home invaders Friday night. She didn’t have any money, but to get them back to her bedroom — where her gun was — she told them she kept her bankroll under her mattress. That’s when her dog came in and started to bark, distracting the three . . .

From click2houston.com:

“They all turned around and looked. I grabbed my gun, cocked it, I turned and shot him right in the stomach,” said Erin.

Two of the men escaped. Erin said she pointed a gun at a third suspect, but he went after her before she could shoot.

“We wrestled around in my bedroom and he came after me. I had my gun like this. He kneed me in the face. He just jerked the gun right out of my hand and took off,” she said.

Thankfully, all she came away with was a pretty good shiner.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Adrian Granados-Yepez, 27, of Tomball, was arrested at Memorial Hermann Hospital Monday night, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound.

The other two are still unaccounted for. As Erin puts it so eloquently in the news report,

Protecting ourselves goes to our Second Amendment right to bear arms. And thousands of people died to give me the very right that saved my life.

  1. Thank God she’s alright. A little banged up, but alive and well. Good on her. Another new convert to home carry, I hope?

    • I home carry my P3AT. Sleeps in my pocket wherever I go. It buys time to get everybody to the safe room where the rest of the hardware awaits.

My wife is still new to guns so we’re starting off with pepper spray carry for now. Some things can’t be strong-armed. Especially with the special lady.

  2. truer words were never spoken. Good on her. I hope the gentleman that stole her firearm got a background check, registered it, and claimed it on his taxes…

  3. the scum bag took her gun, but in the video she was holding a gun. was it another gun she had? she is luck she didn’t get shot when the thug stole her gun. all in all, a great story. just to bad she didn’t get to finish “taking out the garbage.”

  4. Another sad day in bradyland. A gentleman just trying to earn a living accosted by a crazy white lady. Well, it will be alright, he can be rehabilitated, Randy

    • they would say “first let me say i hunt so therefore believe in the 2A.” then they would say “she could have done the same thing with a single action revolver, so she should only be allowed to own SA revolvers.”

      • Well, she did say she had to cock the gun, so I guess technically, it could be plausible.

*removes head from ass* …But it’s still stupid.

    • Sadly, they would say this woman was responsible for giving criminals another stolen firearm with which to cause havoc. That if she was unarmed they would never have gotten a free gun.
That is the faulty logic we are up against.

  5. grabbers dont care, they are willing for you (us, her) to die or be raped as long as their cause results in a gutted 2A…

  6. Read the story carefully before you do your gun rights celebration dance around the room. The invaders took the gun from her. She shot one of them and the other wrestled it away from her. If they had intended to kill her he could have easily done so. Your story makes the exact point the gun control advocates are making. You are much more likely to be endangered by your gun than that of a criminal. She introduced the gun to the situation and was ultimately put at risk by its presence. Reality may suck but it is still reality. Your logic is fundamentally flawed.

    • Listen to the story. One of the home invaders entered the home with a pistol. Secondly, it did indeed save her. They left. So, mission accomplished. Armchair quarterbacks………

      • Armchair quarterbacks………

You don’t know the difference between an armchair and a potty seat. Well, maybe you do, but illogicalthinker is still working on it.

    • I wouldn’t quite go as far as logical thinker, but there are issues with showacsing this as a successful encounter.

There are now 2 perps at large, they know she is armed, and she shot their buddy. They now have one of her weapons, and may not be enclined to let her shoot at them should they decide to come back to finish the job. In any case, one more stolen firearm is now in the wild.

Obviously, despite coming in armed, the didn’t intend to kill her. Next time they go and rob someone, I doubt they will be as careless, and they may just well put their new firearm to use.

This is not to say that it’s an example as to why we should disarm. All I’m saying, it’s actually a bad outcome for society, even if it is a (temporarily?) good outcome for this victim.

    • Only one thing matters here: the result.

Yes, she’s probably lucky she didn’t get shot in return. It’s possible that going for her gun put her in more danger, but we can’t know for sure. It’s possible that the perps would have raped or murdered her if she hadn’t had a gun, but we can’t know for sure.

She was able to get to her gun, she used it, and the criminals ran away. She’s still alive and so is her daughter. That’s what we know for sure. So…results.

  7. This is exactly why magazine limits cost lives. If you are a perfect shot, sure – 3 might be all you need. It’s easy to image a situation where 10 rounds is not enough to deal with 3 intruders. Nighttime, stressful situation, less than perfect aim.

I want as many rounds as I can use. No law-imposed limits.

    • Yeah, if more frequent mag changes may save a life in a spree shooting, they will also save a perp and allow him to kill you in a home defense situation.

  8. Good story for the need of high cap mags. Also good example of the need for training when using a gun in self defense in that she should have at least double tapped to put this guy down. NO, a larger caliber would not have changed the outcome.
