A manager of a Dallas convenience store gave two first-time armed robbers something they weren’t expecting; an armed ‘victim’. Now, they’re both in the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries . . .

Police said the pair tried to rob the Exxon store near E. Illinois Avenue and Bonnie View Road around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The manager drew his weapon and shot both men.

Both suspects were rushed to local hospitals. Both are now listed in fair condition.

Detectives said it appears the shootings were justified and the manager will not be charged.

The reporters state that the manager ‘drew his weapon’, so I am going to assume that he was carrying his firearm vs. pulling it out from behind the counter.

The manager told police that one of the men started assaulting an employee and went to reach into his pocket. At that time, the manager drew his firearm becaue he feared they were armed.

One robber was shot in the arm, while the other was shot in the face. You can guess which one is listed in the worse condition.

      • Pretty sure that’s how it works even in commiefornia where I am. Felony murder rule. And damn right too. If you commit a violent crime that leads to a death, that is 100% on you.

        • you are correct, you and your homie rob the 7-11, and Habieb shotguns your homie and he dies, you get the murder rap.

  1. The story linked above said one man was shot in the arm, but every other story I’ve read on this has more info and said one was shot in the foot, the other in the stomach. One criminal was black, the other Latin.

    • Unless the two BGs are candidates for a geriatric ward, Shannon will count them as child victims of gun violence.

      • Wonder if they will be counted that way in the statistics too ? Two young men that were victims of gun violence and so on. Statistics can be slippery things depending on how the subjects are classified.

        • Depends on who’s keeping the statistics. But it’s a safe bet that if they are under 30 they will be by someone the mainstream news outlets will be glad to use as a source.

  2. Well don’t keep us in suspense, which one was in worse condition? I am guessing the timeline is important to consider. Starting out the one shot in the face was worse. But in the long run I am going to say the one shot in the hand because he won’t be able to fend off bubbas advances in prison. Go get them bubba!!

  3. Did not see a link to the original article. Wondering if the guy that was reaching into his pocket had a gun or not? Doesn’t say in the short synopsis here.

  4. “When the men started to assault the clerk, the manager got a gun and shot them, one in the stomach and the other in the foot. Both victims were taken to Baylor University Medical Center in fair condition. Police said no one else was injured.”

The burning question in my mind is – What did the clerk say before he shot?? —> my guess “I’m your huckleberry” 🙂

    Dammit!!!!!!!

  5. Are we talking about two different events? It’s a bit hard to confuse face and stomach or foot and arm . . . .

  6. this story almost makes me happy, except for the part in which taxpayers get to pay for the two cons to convalesce.

  7. Maybe the first time they got caught but there is noway to know it was their first time armed robbery but I bet not!
