Kiewa Mason of North Las Vegas, Nevada received a call no father wants to get. When his 14-year-old son called him saying there were intruders breaking into the house, Kiewa told his son to get his younger siblings to safety. Thankfully, Andrew Mason was prepared . . .

According to FOX 5, Andrew got his two younger siblings into an upstairs room and told them to hide in the closet.

“I went upstairs and grabbed my brother and told him to hide in the closet. I grabbed a cell phone off my dad’s dresser, grabbed my rifle and hid in the closet with my brother,” Andrew Mason said.

Staying put in the room, with the rifle leveled at the doorway, Andrew purportedly came face to face with the burglars.  They saw the rifle levelled at them and reportedly took off.  The burglars managed to make off with a safe – but everyone else was unharmed.

“I had my gun loaded and ready to shoot, but when he saw me he just took off running,” he said.

Kiewa, while distressed that his son had to fend off intruders, felt confident in his son’s abilities.

“I believe in the right to bear arms, and it’s not like he was foreign to it. We go to the shooting range quite often. We go to the Clark County shooting range quite often. We go to Range 702,” Kiewa Mason said.

No word on the whereabouts or identify of either burglar but, for now, the Mason household managed to show competency with firearms is a necessary skill for any age.

  1. Wait- I thought TRACE and Moms Demanding Action said “there is no data proving good guys with a gun stop bad guys with a gun”.

Michael Bloomturd, call your office- a 14 year old proves your sockpuppets to be liars, AGAIN…

  2. In other news of naked corruption that the LA progtard media wont cover-

Sleazy Sacramento Dems try to pull a fast one, to let corruptocrats in LASD off the hook, and further deny LA area citizens the right to apply for CCW, by hiding the football, and delegating discretion to uber-liberal LA pols and their lapdogs at the LAPD.

    • As a father I’d be about ten feet tall if my son or daughter at 14 did that. I’d also be glad that at 14 he did not have to take another persons life.

  3. This could not have happened in a state that requires you to keep your guns locked up when the gun is not in your possession. Fourteen-year-old Andrew would not have been able to access the gun that he used to save his and his brother’s lives.

Even laws that sound sensible, often have unforeseen consequences that will cause more deaths than they will save. Safe storage laws fall into that category.

    • “Even laws that sound sensible, often have unforeseen consequences that will cause more deaths than they will save. Safe storage laws fall into that category.”

And the reason for that is; that Moses didn’t stop writing laws, until he ran out of sensible ones.

  4. “I had my gun loaded and ready to shoot, but when he saw me he just took off.” Wow–what are the odds??? (yes, that was a bit of sarcasm there). I think Bloomie’s exercise in contrived falsity vis-à-vis defensive gun uses isn’t having quite the tide-turning effect he was hoping for. Again.

  5. Kudos to both the son and father!

I pity the fool that would come up against my young daughter, as she is ventilating them with her Marlin 30-30.

  6. This should be a national news story, but alas…it probably will not. Either way, it makes me smile, because you can’t argue results.

  7. Wait a minute – this is a story about a young, minority male who used a gun to protect himself and his brother! I thought that all gun owners were white racist old fart NRA rednecks! How can the media allow this story to be published? /sarc off/
