Gun control, to the extent that the current gun control advocates want it, used to be somewhat feasible. Only so many machine shops could produce quality gun parts, and the cost of setting up such a shop was prohibitive for criminals and political dissidents. But now, with a fully functioning AR-15 lower capable of being created on a homemade 3D printer, the genie is out of the bottle. And since nothing is being bought or sold, it appears to be completely outside the scope of any interstate commerce considerations. If you ask me this is going to get very interesting, very quickly. If you want a copy of the digital files for the gun, click here.
“This is going to get very interesting, very quickly.”
Famous last words…. haha

I hope they can get the double barreled shotgun printing up to speed asap.
Well, you see, the operator of the printer breathes and that carbon dioxide returns to the atmosphere, which belongs to everyone, therefore his activities constitute interstate commerce and can be ban– regulated reasonably.
+1
That’s pretty much how it works.
Yeah, these days, the commerce clause pretty much means bend over and take it.
Thats pretty cool. And if they like throwing ammo away they could give me some.
If the list is accurate, I’m on it. Forget polite requests. If a criminal breaks into my home, I’ll look into naming Arkansas Business Publishing Group as a co-defendant in a lawsuit.
Well that’s it then. In the long run gun control is dead!
As an Arkansan, this is terrifying. Never thought something like that could happen here, then again, we are the least free state in the South in regards to gun rights and self defense law. Regardless, this person will be receiving an email.
Im glad that you guys are fairly free regarding your gun rights but maybe even a little surprised. I walked in to a nursing facility there (work related) and they had a picture of Bill Clinton hanging up in the main entrance. It took me a minute to remember hes from Arkansas but it just seemed a little odd. Dont get me wrong, Im not thinking it means that everyone worships him overe there.
How hard would it be for the ATF to designate upper receivers as firearms?
“In recapping the Headlines of This Year, we must not forget the landmark SCOTUS ruling establishing that printed gun parts were still subject to Federal regulation under the Commerce Clause, since internet phone lines by definition cross state borders.”
-MSN web article ,circa 2020 AD.
Amen.
Something blocking access (I WONDER WHOM).
A homemade 3D printer, or a homemade lower.
A stereolithographic modeler is at least as hard to build as an AR.
Methinks there’s a typo…
That said, I hope that “they” don’t tempt to control this technology, as they tried to outlaw the playing of DVDs under Linux because it “could be used to infringe copyright.”
Maybe I’ll start a site called the Truth About Computers…
How are these A-holes (the politicos, not the companies) not seriously reconsidering their actions yet? Wasn’t just about all the hubbub during the election focused on jobs and getting Americans working? They harped on that til they were blue in the face. I would feel like the biggest douche in the world if I had spent months preaching about the importance of jobs, and then let employers waltz out of the state. I suppose their collective conscience wasn’t elected with them. These people make and sell tools. Would there be the same indifference if a hardware or auto manufacturer was about to pull up stakes? Nah…
I had a similar situation my freshman year in college, had a liberal professor woman who ran the English/Speech class, she wanted a paper and speech on a subject that would have a hostile audience, so I drafted a paper on the positive benefits of napalm in Vietnam, complete with body counts, US lives saved, etc. I got a D, she was outraged.. heh heh, screw her.
Also a point of interest. This company is located in Webster NY (my hometown) and also the location of the holiday shooting that killed 2 firefighters (i was 2 miles away when it happened). I love Webster and my parents still live there…. just too bad its located in NY. Good for Allstar!
Good for Allstar Tactical.
Meanwhile the silence from S&W, Ruger, SIG & Glock is deafening. Because I’m a lifelong S&W weenie, I’ve written to Smith’s management. I suggest that you Perfection fanboys do the same; likewise proponents of Ruger and SIG.
Nick,
Your link is to a different version of the lower than was used in the video. Here’s the link to the one in the vid:

Sir, you would be most welcome in the State of Montana, I know of a great medium size manufacturing facility that is currently empty on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Beautiful Paradise Valley.
where’s the SC model?
So liberty-minded folks pay hard-earned money (during a recession, no less!) to organizations like the NRA, GOA, SAF, Calguns, etc. to help represent them, and the opposition needs to BE PAID to come out against us? Sounds about right.
I guess Feinstein was right after all–the American people really have spoken.
Now that we’ve got that settled, leave us alone.
I can see the CAD file in Inventor and the thickening of the material at the top is very interesting. Not exactly novel but more like logical in how it has been done. Because of the thickening a conventional take-down pin can’t be used. The rear take-down pin hole is smaller, significantly (hole diameter is 0.393 in.). So, the user will need a pin and spacer for attachment. The smaller pin, potentially, will increase local stresses, though. But, because of the thickening and small diameter, the distribution and stress field will probably “not see” the hole. This could be a viable design. Obviously the video shows it. Good Job!
“I believe so strongly that the voices of ordinary Americans were being drowned out by the clamor of a privileged few in Washington.” Obama 2010.
“Organizing For Action, a so-called social welfare group, would set up four meetings a year with Obama for individuals who gave more than $500,000.” NYT 2/23/13.
More Chicago-style bullsh!t from the political boss-in-chief.
I wish all these anti-2A folks would just go away.
I have a Winchester 101, and wanted a second o/u for the wife. I found an NRA excellent Yildiz at the local pawn shop (!) and sucked that baby into the closet in a nano second for $400. It is stiff out of the box, unfired, and needs lubrication right away, so I gave it short drinks of Break Free to fix that. I love the switching barrel system with one trigger, and the finish is very good to excellent. The woodwork is great (I hand checker my arms) and overall, well worth the $400. I am in Texas, of course, and so the Yildiz is no mystery arm here. I regret that the gun’s reputation is now spreading, since that will change the market place before I can acquire some of the other models, notably the .410 in o/u, of which I lust and wish I were as rich as King Obama thinks I am. Great gun, seriously, for collectors to have… I still love my Winchester 101 more, but that is the way with old loves… they persist in our hearts.
Doc.
I have stated this several times: If your in law enforcement and promote antigun laws on the citizenry, you are an effing, treasonous pig.
Good, but who cares. I have already told the Local guys I know including NY State, Suffolk count cops and the local good Sheriffs that I care about since they no longer follow any laws and continue to destroy my sovereign republic. I will no longer follow any of theirs.
Enough Infringement, yet they keep spending us to oblivion till the food and medicine and utilities run out.
They exempt themselves from all so shall We.
The only laws I follow are GOD’s let him decide.
I am a sovereign REPUBLIC me, myself and I.
See you upstairs if the LORD let’s me in.
