Billionaire and failed Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg thought it would be easy to drop millions into Texas to buy more congressional seats for gun control. He underestimated Texans’ love for their Second Amendment and U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) is leading the charge to block his gun-grabbing efforts. He’s bringing a few friends to the fight too.

In a new joint campaign ad, the former Navy SEAL “recruits” a few fellow veterans looking to oust incumbent Democrats on Nov. 3. Bloomberg spent millions to flip the Virginia state legislature in 2019 to pass more gun control, and believing he can tip the scales in other states he’s already pledged more than one hundred million this election cycle for more, including Texas.

Rep. Crenshaw has other plans and his recruits have serious Second Amendment bona fides.

Leading the Pack

Rep. Crenshaw served as a Navy SEAL for 10 years, including five tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He put his life on the line to protect the Constitution, even being injured by an improvised explosive device (IED). After standing up for the Second Amendment and opposing an expanded background check bill in the House of Representatives, Rep. Crenshaw’s reasoning caught the ire of Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In a back-and-forth with AOC, he offered a lesson in Texas commonsense.

“Situations like this story are why we protect the Second Amendment,” Rep. Crenshaw noted on Twitter, “Side note: With universal background checks, I wouldn’t be able to let my friends borrow my handgun when they travel alone like this. We would make felons out of people just for defending themselves.”

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez tweeted back, “You are a member of Congress. Why are you ‘lending’ guns to people unsupervised who can’t pass a basic background check? The people you’re giving a gun to have likely abused their spouse or have a violent criminal record, & you may not know it. Why on earth would you do that?”

Crenshaw wasn’t standing for the character smear on gun owners.

“Just so I’m clear: you think my friends are domestic abusers/criminals?” he asked her on Twitter. “Seriously that’s your argument? That they can’t pass a background check? Wrong. People lend guns to friends, esp if they don’t own a gun, for self-defense and hunting purposes. This is America outside NYC.”

The staunch Second Amendment supporter is hoping a few Lone Star state congressional candidates can cross the finish line and help provide a backstop against more gun control like that being pushed by Bloomberg.

The Recruits

The new ad includes five congressional candidates with strong Second Amendment stances, including three more veterans.

Wesley Hunt

Wesley Hunt is running in the 7th Congressional District in Houston. He graduated West Point and is a former Army helicopter pilot. His strong support for gun rights earned him the endorsement of President Donald Trump, who tweeted, “@WesleyHuntTX is running for Congress in the Great State of Texas. He will help us accomplish our America First policies. Wesley is strong on Crime, the Border, our 2nd Amendment, Trade, Military and Vets. Wesley has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Next up is August Pfluger, a former Air Force F-22 Raptor pilot and former National Security Council advisor. Pfluger is running in the 11th Congressional District near San Angelo and makes his support of the Second Amendment unquestionable, explaining on his campaign website, “I will defend the Second Amendment and support the right of all law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms for the protection of themselves and their families.”

Tony Gonzalez

Tony Gonzales, a former Navy Master Chief Petty Officer, joins the growing supergroup as the candidate from Texas’s 23rd Congressional District. This is currently held by retiring Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) and Gonzalez is trying to keep the seat in Second Amendment-friendly hands, promoting his credentials for supporting the rights of Americans to purchase and possess firearms.

Beth Van Duyne

So far in 2020, more than 13.8 million background checks have been run for firearm purchases and nearly 40 percent have been for women. Those are Americans that former Irving, Texas mayor Beth Van Duyne who’s running in the 24th Congressional District can relate to. Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety is attacking Van Duyne if that’s an indication, and her Second Amendment stance secured the support of fellow Texan Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.

Rep. Crenshaw and his recruits come upon Genevieve Collins, a candidate in Texas’s 32nd Congressional District. Collins herself has a Second Amendment ad that is must-watch where she declares she will always stand up and fight for our Second Amendment rights.

Rep. Crenshaw and his recruits still have five weeks to go until the election. But as Bloomberg continues his spending spree ahead of November, and Joe Biden and U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) leading the most anti-gun presidential ticket in modern history, the Second Amendment is under attack.

NSSF launched the #GUNOTE campaign to register, educate and activate gun rights voters so they don’t risk their rights at the ballot box.

    • My distrust of him over TAPS and Red Flag peaked and I don’t care what his background is as his actions speak louder than his words.

      • Crenshaw is a fraud
        He supported red flag laws.
Oathbreaker took the ticket and betrayed the trust of the American people

Fake conservative like Ben Shapiro or Dennis Prager

      • But then again, I’m voting Trump despite his praise of red flagging: ‘take the guns now, due process later’.

What good has Crenshaw done, or what else has Crenshaw done wrong?

I assume he didn’t vote to impeach, when virtually every Dem Representative and every single Dem Senator did.

  1. Crenshaw is in favor of red flag laws. I trust him about as far as I can throw him. Vote for him over Democrat gun grabbers and Bloomberg Bought politicians.. but next cycle vote for whoever his Republican challenger is and get him out of office ASAP. I would apply the same logic to anyone who associates themselves with him unless they specifically say otherwise. We don’t need more Republicans ready to fold like a house of cards when the political winds get rough.

Remember. Politicians are like diapers. Even if it’s a brand you like, and a model that works well. you still need to change them often.

    • Crenshaw or Bloomberg. Take your pick. But how about you chose to support the guy that can serve your immediate needs until you can replace him with someone better. Or do you think you can negotiate with Bloomberg?
And spare me the principled stand speech. Bloomberg can outspend you.

      • I see reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I specifically said to vote Crenshaw over Bloomberg. However we do not need another John McCain-esque RINO. With friends like that who needs enemies. So when it comes time to vote in the Republican primaries, VOTE HIM OUT and send a different Republican to Washington.

The attitude that “as long as it’s a Republican that takes our rights away, it’s okay” is the lowest form of political thought. Vote for the lesser of two evils, but call evil what it is, and replace it with good as soon as possible. The POTG need to be more active in deciding what kind of Republican goes to Washington, not just turn out on Election Day and vote for everyone with an R next to their name.

  2. Controlled opposition. Crenshaw was swearing up and down he didn’t REALLY support gun control, and yet when he could prove that as simply as introducing ANY actual pro-2A legislation, he has not. He hasn’t even co-sponsored H.R.5289.

Bennedict Arnold’s service doesn’t mitigate his treason, and neither does Crenshaw’s.

    • To bash Crenshaw accomplishes nothing but putting a sht grin on the faces of Ocasio-Cortez et al. Instead of catering to the enemy attend a town hall and speak man to man to Crenshaw about his shortcomings. At that point the evidence came from the horses’ mouth. Politically inept pile-ons that form at the drop of the hat takes the focus off the important business at hand and that is Saving America from socialist, marxist demented self serving Jim Crow Gun Control democRats. Beheading a man standing against Bloomberg with a month from a crucial election is a plan for defeat to say the least.

      TRUMP/PENCE 2020.

      • Fuck off. You pro-RINO people are why we keep losing more and more rights. Crenshaw actively campaigned for red flag laws to confiscate guns without cause or due process. Fuck him and everyone defending him.

        • And Trump banned bumpstocks, along with not keeping many of his promises. So should we not vote for him?

RINO or not, if you don’t want Biden and AOC deciding how you can and can’t love then you’d better vote Republican and try to primary the ones you don’t like.

        • Actually people without balls are why we keep losing ground. Arguing about everything under the sun is a sure way to lose.

      • At least AOC is an honest enemy. She is what she is. Crenshaw pretends to be a friend and then sells you out for a few pieces of silver.

        • Yes but Trump wrote it where it was unconstitutional if challenged. He kind of told the libs to go to hell and made them look forward to the trip.

      • There’s a lot of people on here without common sense and who love to split hairs over anything and everything. These are the guys who would actually be the first to fold during a government gun confiscation.

        • “These are the guys who would actually be the first to fold during a government gun confiscation.”

Whoa there stud. I will not fold, spindle or mutilate.

But I will run screaming from the room at the first loud noise, or drop of blood.

      • “To bash Crenshaw accomplishes nothing but putting a sht grin on the faces of Ocasio-Cortez et al. Instead of catering to the enemy attend a town hall and speak man to man to Crenshaw about his shortcomings. ”

We should be bashing, and defeating any politician that claims to be pro-constitution, but does nothing to turn things around. A purity test is essential to separate the real from the fraud. Even if it means losing to the Dims, our politicians should be lockstep constitutionalists, originalists, and as near absolute regarding our natural, civil and human rights. Any deviation should be rewarded with ostracism. Run the charlatans out of office, and if there are no purists, don’t vote until the Republicrats are all reliably pro-America as founded. If we lose, at least we lose standing upright, not kneeling in servitude.

        Mors Ab Alto !
        Save the Whales !
        Viva Che’ !
        Viva Max !
        Viva Big Mac !
        Viva Las Vegas !
Workers of the world, unite !

      • No, refusing to call out traitors to the American republic is how we wind up with horrible canidates like McCain and Romney who utterly despise the Constitution of the United States.

  3. We need a cartoonist to create the “perfect” gun control guns. For starters, some attached woo-woo lights, to alert everyone that you are armed. An ultrasonic siren. An audible speaker warning people to stand 50 yards away. Onboard GPS so that all law enforcers can monitor you at all times. Television camera broadcasting to police stations directly, so they know what the gun is aimed at. Onboard computer that prevents targeting of humans. Radio link to an offboard computer to verify and confirm the findings of the onboard computer. Manual safeties that require three hands to operate. Computer safeties that require police department approval before the weapon will fire.

We should be able to keep our firearms under 500 pounds, right?

With all of that, maybe the gungrabbers will be satisfied?

    • At one time we were allied with Stalin. Now that was a true socialist. Murder everybody. Eventually you’ll get the right one. Stalin, mao, hitler. The true faces of socialism.

      • At another time Stalin and Hitler were allied.

We ought to have listened to George Washington and avoided foreign entanglements. Now we are countless trillions in debt and our republic is disintegrating before our eyes (or eye in Crenshaw’s case). If it wasn’t for foreign entanglements Crenshaw would still have two.

      • “At one time we were allied with Stalin. ”

Yes. Allies share interests, not necessarily principles. Which is why Patton wanted to roll on, eastward. And like many great generals of the past, Patton was willing to use a conquered army to do it…another alliance.

  4. Crenshaw blew his credibility when he supported red flag laws.
That said most Texas Republican’ts are going to be better than any Democrat.

  5. Not a fan of Crenshaw for the reasons listed above. He strikes me as a fair weather friend of the 2nd and is clearly ok with trashing due process.

  6. But Crenshaw lost an eye for ‘Murica! I know I feel safer him being in Iraq & Afghanistan. And Larry Keane know’s best😃 Seriously it’s stunning how many don’t know this BS about him…

  7. Not happy with his earlier stance, but right now it’s either him or nothing…..hopefully his new recruits are better….all that said, they ll all get my support over Bloombergs people

    • I’m not a resident of his district, or of Texas and I don’t follow every house race. Be that said , as some lay waste to his record ( I don’t know it personally) what is the record or stand of his opponent? I’ll wager that his opponent is much worse than Rep Crenshaw might be.

    • enuf…You are all mouth and cow manure. Since you are great at libeling and slandering the POTUS you should be on biden’s site where a 2A saboteur like you is appreciated.

      TRUMP/PENCE 2020.

  8. Who cares about Crenshaw? Being former US Special Ops doesn’t make it ok to support gun confiscation, and it arguably makes it worse. Damn oath breakers

  9. LMAO!!! Pirate Dan who doesn’t give a f about our rights? Serious 2A bona fides!
You clown. Being a vet doesn’t make you some passionate experienced defender of our rights.
This kind of propaganda trash is why the 2nd Amendment is under attack from all sides. Those people cozying up to Pirate Dan have just discredited themselves among all non-FUDDs

  10. A hundred mill in TX, another hundred mill in FL (where he’s under a criminal investigation for paying for votes) where else is little Napoleon Blownapart dropping big bucks? Probably trying to buy Ariz as well… What the hell, campaign finance laws are for the “common” folks.. Get the special interest PACs out of elections and give the choice back to the people….

      • Like the NRA, Planned Parenthood, GOA, and Everytown?

Exactly…… (yes ALL of them) FYI Bloomies “Everytown” is the only one dumping hundreds of millions in multiple states to BUY an election… But they all need to get out, when it costs billions of dollars to get a 400 grand a year job with a max potential of 3.6 million it is way out of control…. Bloomberg tries to buy National while Soros goes after state and local shit, this cannot be allowed to continue or this country is finished…

  11. So AOC thinks most Texans are criminals and domestic abusers. Stereotype much?
    I’ve got an idea honey.
Why don’t you make me a martini and refill the peanut bowl , toots?

  12. If you have a better candidate for Crenshaw’s race then speak up. If not shut the fuck up. Or vote Democrat if you’re that g’damn stupid.

  13. jw, I suspect he refers to the race for representing Congressional District TX-2.

As for this side topic, I present my thoughts, scattered into the ether. This ship has sailed. The time to replace a party’s chosen candidate is during the primary process, not the general election. Little good is accomplished by griping about your party’s candidate after the primary and during the general, because at this point the alternative is the other party’s candidate, who will often hold significant opposing views. Yes, it’s often a matter of selecting between the lesser of two evils, but now is not the time to whine about how evil your party’s candidate may be. Weed him out during the primary process. And, if you guys are not from Crenshaw’s district, better to focus on your own community and get that sorted first.

    • The only fly in that particular jar of ointment, is that is how Republocrats like John McCain happen. Which is worse, a traitor or an enemy? I would submit that many times the traitor is worse, because you never know when he will turn on you. Crenshaw fits that description perfectly, and he deserves for everyone aware of his perfidious nature to hang it around his neck as often as possible.

I live in a state where my rep is Democrat and my senators are Republican, one of whom marches in lockstep with whatever the RINO decision of the day is. My local gun group has been trying to unseat our RINO since he was elected.. but once elected it’s VERY difficult to get a different candidate chosen. Yet we all still hold our noses and vote for him when it comes down to it. I hope we can unseat him, but for now we’re stuck.

Crenshaw needs to be drummed out while he’s still a house rep, before he can get to the senate where he can do years of damage. Vote for him now, but find a challenger and start building support for that challenger as soon as possible.

      • I agree. It is more difficult to weed out the snakes after they have moved up the ladder. Taking the above comments about Crenshaw at face value (I’m not in TX and have never read up on him), then the time to weed him out for this election cycle has passed. There’s another coming, and if he is indeed a weed, then pull him out before his roots become established. Not easy to do, but it can be done and is accomplished somewhere in every election cycle.

    • My point is that it’s not even a race. He’s outraised his opponent by a ludicrous margin. It’s likely to be a 10 point lead. In Texas, that’s a landslide.

      • Ok, understood. He is kind of a national figure, from what I have seen on the news. Higher profile results in better fundraising. Replacing him will be difficult.

  14. Dan Crenshaw thinks it’s fine that Texas fired a teacher because she refused sign an oath vowing not to participate in a boycott of Israel. When people asked Crenshaw at a public event why he endorses laws that violate the 1st Amendment like this, he said that critics who want to express their disapproval of Israel by boycotting it are just “cloaking themselves in the 1st Amendment,” and it’s legitimate for the state to punish them. He then added: “You’re going to regret asking these questions, you’re going to regret being on video.”

I don’t support boycotting Israel, and I don’t particularly care what Israel does to defend itself in its part of the world. But American politicians who sacrifice their own citizens’ rights to defend a foreign state are contemptible.

    • I’m from a Palestinian Christian family. Jews stole Christian families homes and committed a genocide against Arab Muslims and Christians.

Jews complain about their Holocaust, but my family was ruined by them. I don’t understand how these Evangelicald support Zionists persecuting Christians.
