Save Our Guns – “You may recall a few years ago the City held a oddly named “Gun Buyback” event, oddly named since the City of Tucson did not sell the guns in the first place. During the one-day event, people were encouraged to trade any firearm for a $50 Safeway gift card with “no questions asked.” It was a strange activity for the city since it was providing a service that is already available in the private sector; anyone can take a gun to a gunshop and sell it to the licensed dealer. Unlike the licensed dealer, however, the ‘no questions asked’ caveat made clear that the city was willing to act as a fence for stolen property.” And then they destroy them in contravention of state law.

Why We Need To Be Smart About Smart Guns – No, if the anti-gun advocates want to persuade me that this technology is ready for me to depend on it when my life is at stake, they’re going to have to do better than, ‘It works just like your phone.’ Missing a call is one thing. Missing the ability to protect myself or my loved ones is something else entirely.” And there’s still the whole New Jersey poison pill law thing.

Smith & Wesson announces new Performance Center 6.5 Creedmoor M&P10 AR – “No round is hotter right now than the 6.5 Creedmoor and when we let the artists from the Performance Center loose, they created the ultimate version – the M&P10 6.5 Creedmoor. With a precision, two-stage match trigger, and a 15-inch free-float Troy® Alpha Rail® with M-LOK® handguard, Magpul® buttstock and pistol grip.  The threaded 20-inch barrel sends rounds down range with unbelievable accuracy. This rifle is a long-range shooter’s dream.”

The laws of supply and demand still work, even in California . . . “Lines Out The Door”: How Americans Respond When Liberal States Restrict Their Gun Rights – “The window is closing on freedom in the Golden State, as liberal government leaders and increasingly bureaucratic laws are being used to strip away the rights of the people. Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a slew of new laws, seen by many as unconstitutional, that will make it incrementally more difficult for Californians to keep and bear arms. But in response to new restrictions on owning so-called ‘assault weapons’ and certain types of semi-automatic firearms, millions are lining up to make purchases during the last legal time frame to do so.”

Fortunately, these things never happen in the UK . . . Three hurt after shotgun fired at Liverpool living room – “Two men and a woman have been injured after a shotgun was fired at a living room on Boxing Day. Five people, including a four-year-old boy, were inside the house in Harefield Road, Speke, Liverpool, at about 19:35 GMT, the time of the shooting. A 22-year-old man was injured in his torso by a “shotgun discharge” fired through the window, police said. A woman, aged 21, and another man, 29, were hurt by the glass. Police said the property was “mistakenly targeted”.”

  1. 50buck buyback?!? Cheap bastards…so sad I just heard Debbie Reynolds has died. Did she shoot any guns in her movies?

  2. “Police said the property was “mistakenly targeted.”

Oh, it’s OK then…simple mistake. Could happen to anybody. Glad they got that sorted so quickly.

  3. The laws of supply and demand still work, even in California . . .NOT WHEN THE STATE INTERFERES WITH THE MARKET. All guns sold will be banned. They did it with the AR.

After they ban legal semi auto rifles, they’ll go for semi auto pistols (currently dropped 2K off the approved list). When done with that they’ll band wheel guns.

Assimilation of a slave state will be complete and anti gunners will turn east.

    • They are only banned “in futura,” while guns delivered (with bullet buttons) will suddenly become “assault weapons” on the first of the year and will have to be “registered.” “confiscation is still a couple of years off. Unless you make yours into a “featureless” build that does not have to be registered.

    • Exactly, mk10108.

With the rumored ‘center fire rifle ban’, all of those grandfathered AW will become either grandfathered banned ‘center fire rifles’ (grandfathered as in, only for you…you cannot pass them down to your family, they must be turned in upon death), or, banned like they just banned standard-capacity mags…as is turn them in or sell them out of state.

  4. “…millions are lining up to make purchases during the last legal time frame to do so.”

If only a couple hundred thousand more of those millions had signed the petitions to get the referendums on the ballot to kill these stupid new laws, maybe they wouldn’t have to wait in those long lines.

    • Your statement has so much truth to it that my head hurt and as I thought about the reality of it, my heart sank deeper…thx. Ignorant, apathetic, selfish gun owners in CA continually do this to not only themselves, but to those of us that actively participate as well. Rant over…bastards

    • According to today’s paper, it isn’t really millions, more like 800,000 rifles purchased this year before the cut-off date of 12/21/2016. Something north of 1,1 million firearms have been sold this year.

  5. Re: smart guns “working just like your phone”, please note the fingerprint reader doesn’t work if your fingers are wet. You can test this by simply licking your fingerprint and trying to unlock your phone.
Try it and share this detail to better counter this uninformed taking point.

  6. Someone should tell S&W that they have a Midwest Industries rail on their fancy new 6.5 Creedmor gun, despite the fact that the press release (and the website) say Troy Alpha.

  7. Basically, the left coast is being turned into a very soft-target by their own politikritters. Hmm… so what happens after the left coast gets beotch-slapped again by terrorists (foreign or domestic)? What are these idjits going to ban next?

Oh, and eventually there will be a serious backlash from the left coast people against their politikos, and the severity of the backlash will be directly proportional to the seriousness of the spanking received as a soft-target.

    Time will tell, I guess.

    • They will ban all semiautomatic rifles and order confiscation of existing registered weapons. Because of the Highland PArk case from the Seventh Circuit, the trial court will deny a preliminary injunction, and it will be at least two years before the Ninth Circuit acts on the emergency petition for review. Fortunately, very few M1 Garands, M1Carbines or Minis are registered, and many ARs and AKs aren’t either for various reasons (rifle registration is a very recent development) such that their will be wide spread disobedience.

      • True that. The only reason you want law abiding people to register firearms is for future confiscation. There isn’t a reason to have model and serial numbers assigned to a person unless you plan to round them up. This is how the UK did it.

  8. Re smart guns, the Touch ID on my iPhone doesn’t even consistently work if my hands are cold, or sweaty, or I just ate something greasy, or hell even when they are clean and dry. now they want me to trust my life to that?

  9. It isn’t TouchID that is my first concern. While I really like my iPhone 6+, I’ve noticed the precipitous drop in battery life, wherein it now has 70% of the original capacity.

If I need to plug it in to charge it, it isn’t going to be able to go in the safe. If it isn’t in the safe, it could hurt a child. If I need to plug it in more often, it’s more likely to be out of the safe and hurt more children. Only terrorists and monsters want to hurt children. Terrorists do what they do here because they hate America.

Clearly smart guns hate America. Love America, hate smart guns.
