My father was an atheist. A lot of that had to do with a little known fact: Zionist leaders suppressed knowledge of the Holocaust. They turned their backs on a deal that could have saved more than a million Jews from the death camps. Including his parents. (True story.) “If a Jew can’t trust a Jew who can he trust?” my father would ask. Which is why this Jew doesn’t trust anyone with his freedom. I assume government wants to take away my freedom and, thus, my life. Why wouldn’t I, when one of America’s two major political parties has dedicated itself to a gun control agenda? Am I supposed to believe they want to disarm citizens to protect them? That’s indigestible. Speaking of which . . .

  1. R.F. and the rest of TTAG – you have become the leaders in this growing battle over the rights of free people vs the dictats of the “enlightened” mass murder wanna be’s.

More than the U.S. freedom and 2A groups look to you for news of the latest assaults on our native born rights…the entire world is now watching.
    Feel that heat??
That is the intense glow of eyes young and old from every continent still burning with hope that we – TTAG, your readers, those standing up at the rally’s and making our voices heard – can preserve this last island of defense against all out gov’t control.
    We must win this,
or that glimmer of hope still alive in the recently disarmed Aussies, or S. Africaner’s, or G.B., or even Canada – goes dark forever.
No second chances on this rodeo.

We are all a band of freedom preserving brothers and sisters now…

Do you mean the Standing Army the 2A was written to prevent?

      Yeah, they are baby killers.

We need to emancipate ourselves from such an engine of oppression, the greatest mischief that can possibly happen, and substitute the Standing Army with a Constitutional Militia.

However, the unconstitutional Standing Army does NOT defend anybody’s freedom.

when are americans going to start abiding by our founding principles???

torture, murder, assassination, and drones? do those sound like american principles? hell no. i would rather see the country torn apart than united together under the current imperialist banner.

and antiwar is anti-american??? give me a break. since when did war become a “american” value?

      • Ivy Mike,

I am curious (and I am being sincere here). How do you envision this militia being organized? Is it a thing where it’s members drill and meet on a frequency much like the reserves or the national guard?

        • I think you’re on the right track. There are a couple examples the founding fathers referred to: Virginia and Switzerland. The Swiss example is still functional and successful after 100s of years.

And we have to ensure that our strength is used only for defense.

He’s got some good ideas too.

  2. It is no secret that the anti-2A people want our guns taken from us. Just go read any gun related news article and read the comments below. Besides being fantasy, they spout off what they want to happen to us. It usually is that the FEDs should confiscate all of our firearms to prevent any more classes of kids from dying. They want others to do the dirty work of course. They also do not think we have any right to defend ourselves. I will never understand that mentality one bit.

    • It’s worse than that. A lot of these whackjobs want us DEAD. I’ve been told by anti-gun people TO MY FACE that “someone oughta shoot you, then I bet you’ll change your mind.”

It’s a good thing for people like that that A: I’m not easily angered and B: I don’t carry. Yet.

      • James Yeager threatens to start killing, retracts his statment and admits he screwed up. Carry permit revoked.

The masses call us rascist and the NRA the KKK, they want us dead. Action? Havnt heard of any yet.

Im not defending Yeager but the hypocrisy does p!&& me off

        • It’s because the anti-2A people feel they are speaking from the moral high ground. They think we are somehow morally inferior because we own a firearm. I have a feeling these people would have been the “loyalists” back in 1775.

I bet they would have a mental breakdown if they knew I am co-founder of a group working on building a youth violence prevention program in my community.

        • Owning a gun is serious business.

You can’t own a gun and be flippant about it. You can’t just go around saying “I’m gonna shoot X” because you actually have the capability to make good on that threat. The antis do not. You know the threat is empty because they lack the means if not the malice. Guns can be serious fun, but they’re also a very serious thing.

The responsible among us (which make up the overwhelming majority) understand this. So we don’t make off-the-cuff threats of violence against people. Every time my hoplophobic mother comments “You’re not going to shoot someone are you?” it’s aggravating as hell. (And yes, she says this every time the topic of firearms comes up).

        • JimR nails it. We are held to a higher standard because we have the means to act on a threat of violence, while the same threat from a disarmed citizen is the bleating of a particularly annoying sheep.

It’s not just about the gun, either. I confess that one time an acquaintance pushed my buttons once too many times, and I let it get to me. I stood very close to him, and told him that I wasn’t carrying a gun right then, and perhaps he would like to continue the discussion?

He backed down, but not before bleating that I was in far better shape and had quite a bit of martial arts training. I observed that yes, this was true, but he had just conceded that it wasn’t about the gun — I worked hard to maintain all of my tools in readiness for use (body, mind, equipment) and that was what he found threatening.

No coherent response to that, of course. And it remained my responsibility, as the person higher up on the power/ability curve, to moderate my responses and recognize that it was my job, not his, to STFU and let him bleat up until the point such bleatings became dangerous.

        • I know we are held to a higher standard and so we should be. Im not defending the actions of gun owners who have atitude problems. But as we preach about having the same rules for everyone then the antis making threats should be dealt with.

Im not sure what you all call an empty threat, Id say a five year old with a toy gun that shoots bubbles is one. A grown adult that is capable of rational and critical thinking, different story. Not having a gun does not make a threat any less serious.

        • “You can’t own a gun and be flippant about it. You can’t just go around saying “I’m gonna shoot X” because you actually have the capability to make good on that threat.”

i couldnt agree more. this is what gun owners need to realize. when you carry a gun or have guns, there should be no such thing as irrational anger and emotionalism. gun owners should hold themselves to a higher standard even if the antis resort to deplorable tactics.

      • You want to be called names. Take the time to testify against an anti-gun bill and wait in the halls to be called to testify. The tactic of the anti-gun crowd is to sit inches from you face and yell and call you names to raddle and make you stumble during your testimony. I speak several languages and sit there and yell back at them in a foreign languages which seems to fluster them to no end.

At the gun club I am a member at, some joggers and people in the area come to the fence outside the gun club and yell insults at us and throw items at our cars. And they call us crazy.

There is nothing I have not heard. None of it phases me.

      • “someone oughta shoot you, then I bet you’ll change your mind.”

This (among other reasons) just shows that the anti’s are not anti gun, they just don’t want US to have them. T

      • They DO want us dead; they SAY so. Because, well… they’re “standing against gun violence.”

SERIOUSLY – how could anyone not see they’ve got their heads screwed on backwards, to put it mildly?

Because theirs are facing in the same direction. We’re up against a RABID ARMY OF FRUITCAKES.

How’s that truncated version of the 2A working out now?

      • I’ve read that article and I believe it to be ominous preparations of our military leaders, who groom the rank and file of the military, for confiscation. It saddens every American to in vision the destruction of our country by evil, titanically elements of the underground, that aren’t so underground as of late. Re: Bill Ayers admitted to participating in bombing offices of the government of The United States & inciting riots in Chicago. He was never arrested, instead he was given awards and is a background adviser to , what’s his name. A revolutionary is an adviser to the current administration. Anybody seen a potential problem here?

  3. “I wonder what Abraham Lincoln would have made of President Obama’s post-Sandy Hook gun grab”

Lincoln above all believed in the rights of the people. He would say that Obama is a fool.

I know it is symbolic or some tradition to swear oath of office on the bible, but I rather have them swear oath of office on a copy of the constitution and be required to read out the bill of rights.

      • You might remember from your history class that at that time the Confederacy was in rebellion. US Constitution, Article I, Sec. 9:

“The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.”

      • The right of writs of habeas corpus are granted in Article I, Section 9, clause 2 of the Constitution, which states, “The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”

I would say a Civil War justifies his action under the article.

He did not want a divided nation he absolutely believed in the rights of the people and the bill of rights. He would have stood up for the 2nd adendment where as Obama wishes to obolish it and leave us defenseless.

    • Lincoln didn’t believe in the rights of the people. If he did, he wouldn’t have waged a massive war against his fellow countrymen to prevent them from peacefully going their own way.

    • By that explanation then, we are not paranoid. I do trust people and they ARE out to get our guns. My imagination is hyperactive but realistic for the most part

    • So you antis call for ostracizing, labeling, insulting, oppressing, and even killing gun owners simply because they responsibly own an inanimate object guaranteed by the Constitution…and you say we’re paranoid and irrational for not trusting people.

      Right…

I’ll start trusting people in this country again when being a mental adult becomes the norm.

      • Yup. Libtards use irrational emotion for the false utopian ideal of big daddy gov taking care of them (at the cost of their economic energy and freedom).

        • Big Daddy Government, say you?

The US Military-Industrial-Complex (Standing Army) spends more money than all the military expenditures of the rest of the nations of the world combined.

Is this the Big Daddy Government of which you speak?

      • I trust people….I even trust obama. I trust people to be human with human emotions. I trust Obama to be a tin plated jackass with delusions of godhood.

“America holds its military arsenal against the heads of all nations in the world, and the NRA holds theirs against the America people. Twenty children, looking down from the Heavens, must realize they are not to blame for blood that will be shed when guns meet guns to resolve what legislatures would not – and that time is imminent. This isn’t about the Constitution; this is about control of America by a most dark and insidious zeitgeist ever to visit the land and one that is drafted from the legions of Hell.”

Right there, the gun grabbers are calling for mass murder.

      • Wow…Bucci has some real hate issues going on don’t he? Wonder who pee’d in his kool-aid. I’ve been called names before but “fascistic”, “evil”, and a minion of “the legions of Hell” is a new low…or high…depending.

        • He didn’t even use the word “zeitgeist” right. I was curious, so I looked it up. It is German, in use circa 1835, “the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era.”

      • Maybe if the NRA quit supporting the troops bootlicking the standing army, and actually standing up for the complete 2A which was meant to “prevent the establishment of a standing army,”[1] then they wouldn’t be associated with the WallStreet/Pentagon Axis of Evil war crimes.

But no, the NRA stands with the Establishment Powers, and supports only a truncated version of the 2A, which puts our back against the wall, and leaves our firearms–not valuable as national defense–to be used only in a desperate “last resort”[2] against the very Standing Army they cravenly bootlick.
        ___________
[1] “What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty….” ~Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts, spoken during floor debate over the Second Amendment, I Annals of Congress at 750, August 17, 1789

[2] “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” ~No, Jefferson never said this popular aphorism. He wasn’t a Right Wing Numbnut. http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/j/jefferson-quotes.htm

  4. I have to say that the “gun nuts” are the canneries in the coal mine as it were.
We have seen if you have read the New York and Illinois bills that they in fact want our guns. That isn’t that much of a secret.
I was really proud of the turn out we had but this is just the beginning. We are planning a ton more, not just rally’s. Stay tuned!

    • Autocorrect for the win: “canneries” indeed.

Got a report coming on the Sacramento rally? Really wish I could have made it but getting the drywall screw removed from the tread on my very flat truck tire took precedence.

  5. From the Miami Herald article:

“Inside, there were bins of gun clips, and tables of shotguns, semi-automatic rifles and handguns, … and machine-gun-conversion kits for semi-automatic rifles.”

Really? There are full auto conversion kits for sale? Never seen one of those at a gun show, I need to keep my eyes open! I should know by now that many of these journalists don’t know one end of a gun from the other but it drives me crazy that they can just spread this false information without consequence.

Ironically, the whole article talks about fear-mongering among gun lovers while at the same time spreads false fears about the proliferation of “dangerous” automatic weapons among the “nuts.”

      • I’m amazed they haven’t gone after that yet. Like honestly they are after “assault weapons of war” but bump fire is fine?

        • It’s a temporary aberration. I actually think it speaks well of the ATF that they have stuck to a strict rules based approach on this, and not come up with a creative interpretation to kill the idea.

See my comment below for my full thoughts on the matter.

        • If you dig bump firing, choose the weapon you want to watch bump fired on youtube, & save your ammo. Bump firing is an expensive luxury these days. However, there are also vids about how to homebrew your own bumpfire stock or grip for very little money.

    • Yes, they are bump kits…..and they are expensive….saw em at $375. but here’s the catch-can you afford that plus the ammo you need? 300 round battle packs as high as $700 at some tables. Fear? I would say so, I have been attending the Miami show for several years and have NEVER seen lines like the ones on Saturday, As I left the elbow to elbow show 5 hours later, the admission lines were still as long as when I had arrived. Still laughing about those who saw the lines as they arrived and yelled “Hell no, I’m outta here, be back tomorrow”.

  6. “Zionist leaders suppressed knowledge of the Holocaust. They turned their backs on a deal that could have saved more than a million Jews from the death camps. Including his parents. (True story.)”

    Robert,

I have heard of such though I am not all that familiar with the details. I have saved and will read the link you provided. Thanks.

  7. In the battle to convince fence-sitters that we’re the voice of reason, does linking to a birther screed really help?

  8. This is a war, no doubt about it, and the enemies – perhaps the most threatening enemies this nation has ever faced – are our own neighbors and supposed leaders. Remember, there are no simple “opinions” in this war. There are those who wish to oppress others, and those who wish to remain free. Stop thinking of your gun-grabbing neighbors as fellow Americans, because they’re not, any more than German thugs were the countrymen of German Jews.

We are split as a nation and it will never go back to the way it was. From here on out, it’s about who is able to take control f this nation’s direction.

    • It is a culture war fueled by fear, propoganda and misinformation and promoted by the govt. I would not go into the Nazi meme. This is about emotions and lack of understanding and education about the topic.

        • Both my grandfathers fought in the Italian Resistence during WWII. A framed CLN flag hangs in my home office. 44,700 Italian partisans died fighting the Fascist and I have an Italian Grandmother who is still living who tells me to fight Obama every Sunday during dinner. My cousins in Italy own AR-15s for hunting and email me to tell me not to stop fighting. I do not need reminding but I read the tea leaves differently

  9. From the linked Miami Herald article:

“nside, there were bins of gun clips, and tables of shotguns, semi-automatic rifles and handguns, switchblade and throwing knives, sharp steel Ninja stars, swords, stun guns, batons, night-vision scopes, machine-gun-conversion kits for semi-automatic rifles.

And, that’s when my bullshit meter went off. Machine gun conversion kits??? Riiiiiiiiiight.

    • I stopped reading when the old Fudd was saying to people at the gun show “Obama doesn’t want to take any guns, he just wants to get rid of semi-auto rifles”.

    • As noted above, perhaps it was slide/bump-fire stocks and crank type trigger actuators.

I personally think that pushing the edge of the legal envelope with devices enabling high cyclic rates approximating burst or full-auto fire is a TERRIBLE idea. Any reasonable person sees these devices for what they are: a means of delivering high-rate fire comparable to an NFA machine gun.

The line of argument that an AR-class rifle differs significantly from a mil spec M4/M16 due to lack of a rock-and-roll mode starts to look really shaky when someone sees a video of a slide-fire AR dumping a 30-round mag in 5 seconds.

TL;DR: Ixnay on the slide-fire/bump-fire stocks for now. Take down the videos, stop exhibiting at gun shows, and for the sake of all that is good, don’t defend these products in the media.

      • Thing is, full auto out of a rifle is just not all that fun. Our C-7s (M16A1.5) had it and we barely used it – trench or room clearing drills now and then, but that’s it.

        Now a proper belt-fed MG on the other hand . . .

        • Suppressive fire and magazine-fed weapons are, IMHO, mutually exclusive concepts. I’ll change my mind on that when we get life-or-death reliable 60-to-100 round box magazines. Since achieving that would likely require a complete rethink of the ground-pounder rifle platform, I’m not holding my breath.

        • Alpha,

Have you seen surefire 60 and 100 rd mags? I don’t know how reliable they are but the box mag exists and works without a redesign of the platform.

        • I have seen the quad-stack magazines, yes. I’m not yet convinced that they’re going to prove sufficiently reliable in real-world use, especially under battle conditions overseas. I’m particularly interested to see whether the follower mechanism will hold up.

  10. “We place a tearful plea and request before you. You have but one responsibility: to collect money”

This is a stark reminder of why being disarmed as a society is unacceptable. These poor souls had no options but to try and buy back the lives of these bretheren. They couldn’t fight back. They couldn’t defend themselves. Any fool who believes something like this would never happen again can stroll the path to hell without me. And why ANY person of Jewish faith votes for these people is also baffling.

  11. “We not trying to take your guns” is a bald face lie. The bills are banning an action that has been in common use for over 100 years. It isn’t exactly high tech, but it is ridiculously common. I’d love to see some exact numbers of semi-auto vs. other actions, but the majority of my firearms are semi-auto.

So yes, they are trying to take my guns, but saying “We’re not trying to take all of them” isn’t nearly as compelling.

    • Every gun I own except my Winchester 9422 levergun is a semi-auto. One of our shotguns (despite its camo-clad furniture) would be reclassified as an “assault weapon” under some of the proposed legislation.

As has been mentioned, there are a whole lot of folks who are going to become passive criminals when they refuse to register and/or dispose of their property under these laws. I say good for them — hold onto your property, hide it away if need be, and use the courts, the soapbox, the checkbook and the ballot box to restore your rights.

    • From his article: “Better to die an unpatriotic pacifist without blood on your hands, then to live and never be able to wash it off.”
Translation: “Better to hide in a corner and cherish the righteousness of your cowardice, than to defend your life or loved ones and risk PTSD.”
Not as flowery, but a lot more accurate.

    • “Piers Moron” is a “Public Schoolboy” never been touched by violent crime on the street. (Thats when you truely realise that the police are just responders). He makes me cringe being from the U.K. there is no voice for the other side of the debate over here just mouthpieces for TPTB like him.

  12. Is anybody else bothered by that image of the skeet range which shows the guy on the left leaning on his shotgun while sticking the muzzle into the dirt?

  13. That suppression of Holocaust knowledge? That’s actually pretty widely known. I think refusing the deal was a cynical ploy to further the advancement of Zionism.

    • “cynical ploy to further the advancement of Zionism”? What are you talking about? As I understand the meaning of zionism, it was an international movement originally for the establishment of a Jewish national or religious community in Palestine and later for the support of modern Israel.

  14. In the long term…..I wonder what other changes are lurking behind the scenes waiting to be unveiled. Surely the gun grabbing is just a preamble to a greater change, one that “they” don’t want the possibility of an armed public rebelling against.
Let s face it, It has got to be something so unpalletable to the average joe that “they” would expect armed oposition.
