Chicago cops haven’t distinguished themselves in terms of their use of deadly force lately. So… Sweeping Limits on Police Use of Weapons Proposed in Chicago – “Police officials here proposed sweeping policy changes on Friday that would limit officers’ use of firearms and stun guns and emphasize the ‘sanctity of life’ in an effort to address criticisms that officers have been too quick to fire their weapons and use force, especially against African-Americans. The suggested policy, announced amid a federal investigation of the department, would restrict officers’ use of force to situations in which there is no reasonable alternative. The police would also be instructed to use the least amount of force necessary, and to intervene and report colleagues who violate those guidelines.” This news won’t please law-abiding families on the South Side who live with gang violence every day.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Chicago . . .

Bury the guns, cries a high school Antigone at Steppenwolf – “No arts group in the city has done more than Steppenwolf for Young Adults to tackle the agonizing, relentless, quotidian problem of gun violence in the city of Chicago, a scourge that feels to me all the more intractable given the stunning offensiveness of Donald Trump’s videotaped declarations of intent and practice this weekend, and the valuable intellectual and emotional time and space that now is being taken up in countering his volleys and dressing the wounds caused by his drive-by fire.”

And a little farther south . . .

Rhymefest To Lead Vigil To Remember Those Killed By Guns In Chicago – “Rhymefest is taking part in a public vigil in order to remember those who have lost their lives to gun violence in Chicago. Last month, it was reported that the city had already seen over 500 gun-related deaths (and over 3,000 total shootings). August was the city’s most violent month in 20 years. He hopes the ceremony will inspire people from all over Chicago — especially those not typically included in the conversation — to address the crisis. The vigil takes place at 5PM today in Lincoln Park, an affluent area in the north side of the city that sees little to no gun violence. ”

This should cheer you up: The Coming National Gun Ban – and How the States Can Resist – “The law of averages predicts that at some time in the future, perhaps as soon as 2017, the Democratic Party will once again control the White House and majorities in both houses of Congress. When that happens, the next Democratic president — be it Hillary Clinton or someone else — will sign into law a sweeping, foreign-style gun ban. The legislation has already been written. H.R. 4269 would enact a national, permanent ban on the manufacture and sale of so-called “assault weapons” and all firearm magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds. The bill, introduced last December, already has149 Democratic co-sponsors (218 are needed to pass the House).”

Wikileaks: PR Firm Seeks Clarification on Hillary’s Support of 25% Gun Tax – “One of the emails contained in the October 7 Wikileaks email release shows Grunwald Communications asking Hillary Clinton’s press secretary about the candidate’s support for ‘a 25 percent tax on gun sales.’ The email is dated October 4, 2015 and was sent from Mandy Grunwald to Brian Fallon. In it, Grunwald asked about Clinton’s reported vacillation on gun control in the 2008 campaign and also about the tax. She said, ‘I also saw something about her supporting a 25% tax on gun sales back in 1993.’”

  1. Re: Chicago PD policy:

The suggested policy, announced amid a federal investigation of the department, would restrict officers’ use of force to situations in which there is no reasonable alternative.

If the CPD policy has been anything other than to use lethal force only when there is no reasonable alternative, then those who wrote and approved that policy are unethical, immoral, and shameful thugs who should be in prison.

    • This guarantees that gangs will take over the city. The police will not engage when there is a potential for the use of deadly force. This will allow gangs to roam the city at will.

        • Not really. Gang activity is generally confined to the South and West sides. There are large portions of the city that there is little or no gang activity. Just look at the distribution of crime in the city. However once the police use of force is constrained to the point where officer no longer confront suspects than the gangs will be free to operate with impunity in places where they currently cannot. This has been the Democrats objective since at least 2009 And probably before. Crime is their primary tool for social control, not the so-called militarized police.

      • tdiinva (Now in Wisconsin),

Gangs will not roam and control the city. Do gangs roam and control the nice suburbs around Houston or Detroit where the armed populace have very strict rules for use of lethal force? One or two gangbangers try it every once in a while and they end up absorbing bullets. The same will be true in the greater Chicago area.

    • Are they trying to tell us that the use of deadly force isn’t ALREADY limited to those situations where there is no reasonable alternative? Isn’t that the standard everybody else is already held to.

      • “Isn’t that the standard everybody else is already held to”?
Yes. It’s the only sane standard for a reasonable being to adhere to… just not the current crop of militarized US police. Says a lot about the standards of LE in post 2000 Amerika, don’t it?

  2. H.R. 4269 will result in civil war, guaranteed.

I am about done playing with the corrupted system and corrupt people. The next civil war is upon us.

      • Alan,

        Thanks for the reply.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re writing or describing, but I think I understand well enough to understand. I think you are right, it will be much like a dirty war, or “Unintended Consequences”.

However, my fear is that we don’t hit hard or fast ENOUGH. Mcveigh initially had a targeted attack against Janet Reno in mind, but he decided it was “too hard” and so did the building in OKC.

One thing that UC did not contend with was the massive militarization of police, and the continuity of government plans, along with the suspension of Habeas corpus that is now legal.

I don’t think anything can happen if we don’t strike immediately, with crippling power. Look to Syria to see what a stalled movement that isn’t decisive enough will turn into.

The fact is, if you try to take a shot against a regime, as citizens, you need an absolutely MASSIVE backing that will literally refuse to work for the regime- which we don’t have. So the only other option is immediate, decisive, and quick action. A war of attrition is untenable, with the sheer amount of CT spending and infrastructure we have now that is specifically built to protect the government.

    • I hope not. But it doesn’t seem as unlikely to me as it would have even 10 years ago. Never imagined it would come to that in my lifetime.

    • I have asking different people military people, some that I know & others that I just met, what would happen if Hillary Rotten Criminal wins the election——-They ALL answered with hesitation with the word WAR–Civil War II or Revolution II

      • And who’s going to lead it?

Are they commanders or officers? Are they senior NCOs, and have a battle plan, targets, supply lines, etc.?

Oh- they don’t? You mean, they’re just soldiers speaking out of their ass to sound tough, but know as much as the guys who assured me the Iraqi dinar was where I should invest all my savings as they had, because there’s no way the US government would let it fail?

Yeah, that’s what I thought. It’s all tough talk and whiskey speaking for you, until you actually draw up an actionable plan.

        • You are thinking in terms that became obsolete after WWII. The US military and more recently a lot of law enforcement organizations are still living in the past, too. I believe any rebellion or civil war will be fought as a combination of guerrilla and psychological propaganda assaults. You don’t do what with a pyramid hierarchy, you do that with a loosely coupled network with disposable links, with distributed expertise.

  3. Chicago cops haven’t distinguished themselves in terms of their use of deadly force lately.”

Only if you see “distinguished” defined as intrinsically a good thing. Which it isn’t.

“The vigil takes place at 5PM today in Lincoln Park, an affluent area in the north side of the city that sees little to no gun violence. “

Such a useless act of mass-mental-masturbation that everyone should get a free box of Kleenex for attending. Though, if any of the denizens who are actually, you know, the problem show up, that reputation for being peaceful will definitely be changed.

    • “Though, if any of the denizens who are actually, you know, the problem show up…”

That’s the point of holding it in Lincoln Park. A vigil held in, say, Englewood or Fuller Park would probably add another half-dozen names to the list of gang violence victims.

It’s amusing that even hip-hop artists refuse to go to Chicago’s war zones now, and hide out in the upscale white neighborhoods.

  4. Is HRC’s 25% gun tax in addition to the 11% gun tax we already have or just an increase from 11% to 25%?

  5. Thank a never trumper if she gets the whitehouse. As for a civil war. Bullshit. America is too well fed and comfortable for a general uprising.

Seems like the only ones with balls enough or desperation enough to take it to the streets is the #BLM crowd. And we mostly don’t support them.

    • “America is too well fed and comfortable for a general uprising.”

      For now.

Politicizing things like sports (Football, Basketball, etc) and every other hobby with PC/SJW bullshit; calling the people who like those things garbage for who they are, what they like, what they believe, and what color their skin is (hint: White) wakes up a lot of people who would’ve otherwise stayed asleep.

      • People aren’t going to go to war because they’re told they’re “triggering” someone. Comments like that lead to ATROCITIES during a war, but don’t break the camel’s back enough for people to actually GO to war.

It takes elemental things to make people go to war. Land, women, children, lives, significant chunks of net worth- being taken. SJW words are nowhere near enough. Now, if SJWs enforce a “right of the first night” where all cis-straight men must be penetrated for their first sexual experience, then you’re on to something.

    • ‘Thank a never trumper if she gets the whitehouse.’

Thank a Trumpie for nominating the only candidate in a field of 19 who wouldn’t be running away with it by now. Thank them for nominating a candidate they knew a third of regular GOP voters would never vote for. Thank them for nominating the one candidate who could possibly be more universally disliked than HRC.

      • You mean the one the GOP undermined and backstabbed at every turn? If Trump loses, I’m going to enjoy watching the RINOS get stood up against a wall and shot right along their Demokkkrat masters.

        • Problem was that Thedonald is completely unpalatable to both the RINO crowd and the conservative wing of the GOP. And he made sure to burn every bridge he could along the way. All I can say is it takes a pretty pathetic candidate to lose to HRC, with or without my vote.

        • Keep saying that. Hopefully the thought that you didn’t vote to Trump will keep you warm in Hillary’s personal gulags.

        • Honestly, if one of you Trumpies could convince me that a Thedonald presidency would be one bit better than a Hildebeest presidency he’d get my vote. But even the most ardent supporters of the man would rather pout than try to come up with a valid reason to vote for him. That’s telling. While there’s no chance in hell I’m voting for the most corrupt woman in America, I honestly think the economy would do better under her than under Trump. Trump has proposed raising taxes on the rich and starting trade wars. Add a tight monetary policy and you’ve got the Great Depression. Add to that his complete lack of control over his tongue (and his penis), his overwhelming ego and general lack of character and I just can’t see throwing away 2020 for this guy. He’s a con artist. Rubio had him pegged when he said that if he hadn’t inherited $100 million he’d be selling wristwatches in Times Square. Keep the House and Senate (R) and wait another 4 years is the best we can do at this point IMHO.

        • So here’s a reason to vote for Trump.

He’s likely to find himself impeached upside the head if he does anything vaguely questionable, because everyone in both the House and Senate would like to be rid of him … and there would be little to no backlash for an impeachment.

Hillary, on the other hand, will be downright untouchable even with R house and Senate. She knows where the bodies are buried, and nobody will want to be the one who impeached the first woman president. (sound familiar?)

So vote Trump. He’s less likely to get away with being truly egregious. Simple as that.

        • I’ve actually heard the ‘He’s more easily impeached than HRC’ argument. Really not sure which would be more entertaining, the second Clinton impeachment or Thedonald being impeached by his own party. But at least if it’s HRC the Dems will take the blame, leaving 2020 in play. If Thedonald wins we’re stuck waiting for 2024.

        • There will be no 2020 if you let Clinton into office. She’ll rig the system so throughly that it will be a coronation, not an election.

        • “Honestly, if one of you Trumpies could convince me that a Thedonald presidency would be one bit better than a Hildebeest presidency he’d get my vote.”

Judge a man by his enemies. His enemies are: the Saudis, the UN (Donald Trump’s “deeply unsettling and disturbing” views make him a danger internationally, the UN’s human rights chief has said), Hollyweird, the lying MSM, the Republican establishment, the SJWs, elitists and globalists, illegal aliens and their supporters, warmongering neocons…

        • His supporters aren’t willing to hold him accountable now as a candidate, what makes anyone think he’ll be held to account as President?

“We’ll hold his feet to the fire.” And the check is in the mail. Gotcha.

        • Yo, Guv! Did I just see you acknowledge that if Donald wins in 2016, he will win again in 2020? I think that’s correct, but did not think that was your position.

        • Doesn’t much matter whether he wins or loses in 2020, the other option is another Democrat. If he wins next month then loses in 2020 that will mean the Republicans will be facing an incumbent in 2024.

      • I second that. The Trumpkins nominated a man who had no concept of foreign or domestic policy and had never run a campaign. A man who did everything he could to alienate and offend ethnic groups and women and drive them into Hillary’s camp. A man who screws over American workers. And finally a man who feels obligated to grope random women between their legs and cheat on his wives. I wouldn’t vote for Bill and I can’t vote for him. Rand Paul, Rubio and Cruz could have beaten her and instead they chose this disgusting excuse for a human being and in so doing screwed yourselves and the rest of us over. Congratulations.

        • ‘A man who did everything he could to alienate and offend ethnic groups and women…’

          Don’t forget conservatives.

        • Damn I forgot to mention attacking your own party and then whining and demanding unconditional support. And from a man who’s been a republican for just a few years.

        • That’s what having a party is all about. Not giving Trump your unconditional support once he won the primary fair and square makes you worse than a Demokkkrat, it makes you a traitor.

        • All free trade does is redistribute the work force outside your own country. Yes you get lower cost products, however I contend lower quality goods as well. Long sleeve T-shirts from Jordan have a lower thread count and unravel. Not one product purchased in Wally World, exception being a hammer, does not last. Plastic products are thin and how many collapsible 10 x 10 shades make it through 5 openings without breaking.

America is about 190 million adults and our backs were supporting over a billion people world-wide through our purchases and we’re about to reach the tipping point. This administration along with Congress effectively gutted private insurance. 2017 premiums with triple with Obama-care, being self-employed I know. Business regulations require 1-2 people (depending on industry) per 20-30 person company to sort through them and comply. Everything to where a paint can is stored to fire suppression in a metal build with no flammables.

My profession takes me across the country, deep in the bowls of manufacturing and processing plants. I can relay 30% of everything in a supermarket is touched by an illegal. From the package, to product, ink on the box and the box itself, logistics and distribution, its touched by an illegal. Talk to business owners and they won’t relay turnover every 93 days is 50%…why trigger date to collect benefits. Even if they have 40 people they can only rely on 15 to do the job properly. Rework is constant and no plant is running at 85% efficiency. Next time in a grocery store don’t look at ingredients, look at the source, if no location or list a suite, its co-packed. Major food processors switch from processing to branding and relying on co-packers. The scary thing is like manufactured products moving out of the country we are importing our food. Everything from shrimp to fruit. Store brand jerky comes from Argentina delivered in totes and packaged here. HR cost in Nevada is 5 times lower than CA, causing business to leave in droves and state officials don’t care. Cross CA state line and companies instantly gain 20% to their bottom line.

You vote for Trump because the weight of the Uniparty and its policies have driven up the cost of everything (buy two collapsible shades – one for spare parts), farmed jobs overseas, imports H1B workers to displace Americans, guarantee student loans and saddling students and their parents with crushing debt with worthless degrees. High school graduates step into the labor force thinking typing is worth 15 bucks an hour, only to compete with illegals. And now open borders padding votes for democrats and cheap ineffective labor while giving free phones and money support for illegals.

You vote Trump to hold back the tide or submit and hope you make enough coin to survive.

        • Claiming that Trump does not care about American workers because he won’t make retarded business decisions is itself a form of retardation. Trump has a responsibility to his partners and investors to make smart business decisions. The fact that the US government makes it cheaper to ship steel half way around the world than to smelt it here is the problem.

      • For the record, my first choice was Rand Paul, my second was Ted Cruz and my third was Scott Walker. I’m currently all in for Trump based upon economics, border security, and SCOTUS / federal judge appointments.

        • In retrospect I wish I had supported Rand instead of the servile puppy dog. But if you trust Thedonald on economics you might want to Google ‘Smoot- Hawley Tarrif Act’.

        • Yeah… Because we haven’t been at economic war with China and Mexico for two decades now… and losing. Trump is not talking about starting a trade war, he’s talking about FIGHTING BACK.

        • Free trade is not economic warfare. More like the opposite actually. Economic warfare is what we waged with the USSR (and won). And as far as losing, we pay 10 cents on the dollar for everything they send us. Big screen TV – $500. I remember when they were $10,000. Is that losing and economic war? $300 laptops? $100 smart phones? You start a trade war and not only do those goods go back up to their former prices but they stop buying our grain, our heavy machinery etc. Don’t like our trade deficit? What they forget to include in it is patents, copyrights, franchise fees, music, Hollywood movies, interest, investment returns. We’re only spending money that we have earned on intellectual property, but start a trade war and those revenues start to dry up too. Trump is talking about fighting back against economic prosperity.

        • Yeah… Too bad about the millions of people who lost their jobs to Mexican and Chinese competitors. Too bad about the blatant IP theft by the CCP that allows a Chinese company to steal the technology and then buy out the original inventor with their own stolen technology.

You have no fucking idea what you’re talking about.

        • White people are still free to to become roofers or concrete workers. They’re still free to work in slaughterhouses. They can do all the landscaping they want. They can even be hotel maids if they chose to. However, having worked in the construction industry my entire life I can attest that virtually the only white people willing to take these jobs these days are limited in their options due to their multiple felony convictions.

        • Free trade has nothing to do with trade jobs. Perhaps if you knew how IP theft worked you might actually know what you’re talking about.

          Let’s take an example.

The CCP helped a Chinese company steal the IP from Segway for their proprietary mobility device. That Chinese company then proceeded to undercut Segway with knockoff products in the world market. Because Segway had invested a pile of money in developing the technology and were not able to recoup their costs due to Chinese knockoffs of their design, they got into financial trouble. This allowed the same Chinese company that stole their IP in the first place to buy them out and destroy an American company.

Segway is just one example. There are hundreds of them. Chinese trade and IP warfare against US companies costs the US economy a sizable percentage of our GDP every year. What Trump is proposing is not “starting” a “trade war”, it’s fighting back against countries that have been waging economic warfare against the US for decades.

        • Sorry, when you said, ‘Too bad about the millions of people who lost their jobs to Mexican and Chinese competitors.’ I didn’t realize you meant only manufacturing jobs. Seems to me that Thedonald has had a few things to say about immigrant labor as well.

As far as Segway goes it’s a cursed company. A British millionaire bought the company a few years ago and within a year died when he rode his Segway over a cliff (seriously). My guess is the last owners cashed in before all the lawsuits over the hoverboard could be filed. Not that patent infringement isn’t a problem with some foreign companies, but we have trade commissions and international courts to deal with those violations. Probably move too slow, but starting trade wars over it is cutting your nose off to spite your face. We will all be poorer for it.

        • “SCOTUS / federal judge appointments.”

That is all I need. Other good stuff could stave off a primary challenge in 2020, but *that* is all I need to decide this year.

        • Pwrsrge, Trump does not care about American workers. If he did he wouldn’t buy cheap Chinese steel and screw over all of his contractors.

    • You’re welcome! Thanks for supporting such a terrible candidate under the assumption that we’d be okay taking the lesser of two evils.

      • Enjoy Hillary’s stormtroopers breaking down your door. Hopefully the thought that at least you didn’t vote for Trump will keep you warm in the mass grave they have waiting for you.

        • All you’ve got is hyperbole. Stop and consider that kind of hyperbole from the other side. Have fun being vaporized when Trump launches the missiles because someone dissed his daughter’s ass. Seriously, a week ago he was up all night Tweeting about the former Miss Universe. This is not a serious man.

        • It’s not hyperbole when you’re dealing with someone who should already be in jail for treason.

        • Which is why nominating someone who is completely incapable of running a competent campaign was such a disastrous move. Any other Republican would be crushing Clinton. She’s the worst candidate in history except for one, and she’s lucky that candidate is her opponent.

The thing Trump and his supporters can’t bring themselves to understand is even if every single Republican and Republican leaning voters in America voted for Trump, he tops out at 42%. Things are more complicated in a four way race, but to secure a victory, he needed to expand his appeal beyond that. He had five months after getting the 1,237 delegates he needed to secure the nomination. He clinched a full month before Clinton. He could have spent all that time unifying his party and broadening his appeal, but he did almost nothing for months.

Layer on top of that the fact that he’s that he’s basically that supervisor from work who thinks he’s brilliant and hilarious, and he really, really isn’t. It’s not an appealing package. It’s not a package that wins general elections.

Here’s the voter affiliation data, by the way: http://www.gallup.com/poll/188096/democratic-republican-identification-near-historical-lows.aspx

    • “America is too well fed and comfortable for a general uprising.”

Give the Dems a few years. They’ll fix that. They are well on their way already. The question is whether they will manage to disarm a large portion of us before it comes to that point.

      • Don’t think it matters. Dems seem to think they can win a shooting war by telling PotG to shoot other PotG, since of course their own lily whites cannot be involved. I suspect most will be truly shocked when their security team does not show up one day, so shocked they won’t even realize it is their last day on this earth.

    • Right, because the candidate himself bears no responsibility to be a good candidate or run an effective campaign.

Trump and his supporters are full of excuses for why he won’t win, refusing to contemplate that they may even partially contribute to their situation. No, it’s all the fault of those disloyal, backstabbing Never Trumpers. If only they had fallen in line, Trump would win in a Reagan vs Mondale landslide.

The fact is, Trump has had over five months since securing the number of delegates required for the nomination to consolidate Republican support and build out into the general electorate. He had all that time to build a campaign to take down Clinton. He wasted almost all of that time. He’s just not good at politics and he’s not a good candidate. If he loses, it’s on him, because of the person he is, and the choices he made.

        • Yeah, right, because he’s such a revolutionary. The GOP establishment all fell in line for him and it’s completely counter to their interests for him to pull a Mondale. Trump tanking hard threatens control of the House and Senate and hands control of all three branches of government to the Democrats. Come up with a plausible scenario where sticking it to Trump is worth that. Ridiculous.

        • Again… The fact that the GOP leaked the tape has been confirmed. Trump was kicking Hillary’s ass up until last week.

      • He is not SUPPOSED to be a competent politician! He is supposed to be an outsider aiming to shake up both the federal government and the Republican party. As such, the federal government and the Republican party are completely crazed in their desperation to join up with the Democrats to stop him from accomplishing his goals. If you don’t support those goals, why not just say so, rather than continuing the bullshit about how he is an incompetent politician. If you do support those goals, as I do, then support his candidacy regardless of how incompetent he is as a politician, that is the whole idea.

  6. Yep war of some sort is coming. Lots of old foggies like me don’t care about fallout and are continually PO’d. Oh yeah I predict a mass resignation of cops in Chiraq…have fun.

    • After experiences in other locations, I don’t think we can forecast a lot of resignations in the police force in Chicago, I think they will continue to draw pay and just sit in their cars or in their police stations, refusing to patrol or to answer calls for help. Why quit?

  7. Well, Texas certainly won’t put up with any assault weapon bans. We’ll be eating popcorn watching all the anti-gun states implode.

  8. 1) Dumb. Cops will simply leave the job or fail to do it.

    2) Trump has nothing to do with the gun problem in Chicago and thespians have no impact on it. Prancing around on a stage doesn’t stop a gang banger from shooting another gang banger. STFU. ‘

    3) See #2 but insert “wanna be rappers” for “thespians”. You’re not Tupac, you’re not Biggie, you’re not even [insert piss poor rapper here].

    4) Skip.

    5) What utter BS from the Left. You can’t ban the gun already in private hands. See Article 1, Section 9/10. Further, while the Left may think this is popular, they will find rapidly that doing it will cost them the majority they needed to do it. Semi-auto rifles, or “MSR’s” are the most popular guns in existence. The backlash to this would be swift and decisive, especially if the ban didn’t have a sun-set like the 1994 law (which wasn’t challenged in court due to the sunset).

If the Left really wants to get into the weeds on this they will lose. Scope out 10 U.S. Code § 311 which defines “the militia” as “The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.” and further states that the 2nd class of the militia is “the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.”

Sorry Lefties, you lose. And no that law isn’t ancient stuff from the 1800’s, it was passed in 1956. You will also note that what this law basically covers is conscription. Voluntary service outside the age requirements is not forbidden and therefore legal. Ergo, everyone is in the militia either by draft or by choice if they call outside what is draftable.

    6) HRC is clearly trying to price poor blacks out of owning firearms. For shame. What a freaking deplorable racist she is. (Hey, you better be able to take it as good as you give it witch!)

    • Strych9…starting to like your words

Saw this today. Sums up the left.

What won’t change is the fact that the system is not merely rigged; it is actively designed to suppress and repress those who reject subjugation by, and submission to, the liberal elite. They do not want us to be, nor do they have any intention of letting us be, free, unmolested, and active participants in our own governance.

      Kurt Schlichter

  9. I have to admit it — I want Chicago to burn. I hope the next Chicago fire makes the last one look like a Campfire Girls weenie roast.

  10. I warned earlier this year that we have reached “peak gun” and the Democrats would soon be in a position to roll back many of our recent gains but nobody was listening.

    • Not if we exercise a 2nd amendment veto to those “rollbacks”. An armed man is awfully hard to get into the cattle car.

      • They will expect an outbreak of Irish Democracy. What that means is that you will be able to admire your guns in the privacy of your own home but they will be useless for any practical purpose. And forget about using them for self defense. No matter what the law says you will get the full Zimmerman treatment.

You are fighting the wrong war. Hillary won’t be sending the cops door to door, she will be using gangs to enforce her social order.

        • The democrats will be using banks, insurance companies and utilities to enforce the law. No cops needed.

Guns in your house ??? Sorry, too dangerous — your homeowners insurance just got cancelled and your utilities disconnected. No insurance ??? Sorry — your mortgage just got called by the bank and no one will give you a new one.

Gun possessor ??? Sorry — your employer can fire you as soon as they find out and Hillary’s SCOTUS will uphold it.

Shoot a burglar ??? Sorry — YOU are going to jail and the burglar is getting everything you own, just like in Britain.

        • So Hillary will destroy the banking and insurance industries, the real estate market and bring the economy to a halt to confiscate guns? That is even dumber than the mad Russians call for immediate civil war. Why do that when you can just make it impossible to uses your guns in any meaningful sense? Eventually people will give them up on their own or use them for paper weights.

        • Hey, realist, that is not being a realist in Texas. If it is in your state, you should move. What we are going to run into is an end to the idea that when you shoot and kill a thug, you must call the police and report that. Do gangbangers do that? Just shoot the dindunuffin bitch and walk away. It’s coming, I can almost guarantee it. May lead to a revival of revolvers (no case left behind.).

  11. The Chicago PD hasn’t “distinguished” itself in decades.

They’re the Dirlewanger Brigade of U.S. “law enforcement”.

The Chicago PD, stomping the barmaids that citizens are unwilling to stomp…

  12. Ralph…. I sadly have to agree.
There will be walk offs from cpd. That is hands down the dumbest statement I’ve ever heard. Cops are supposed to give them a stern talking too while being shot at????? It’ll be a bloodbath. And then what call in the national Guard? That’ll go over like a lead balloon.

    • As long as the Governor has an (R) after his name the Guard won’t be saving the day. Even downstate Democrats will be hoisting a few as the city collapses into chaos.

  13. I believe it could come to a civil war. and it will be quick and decisive, I believe. I always ask one question when people start getting loud about their beliefs. “Are you willing to die for that statement? Would you be the first one to spill their blood for that goal?” And when it comes to gun control measures, I’ve yet to hear a single liberal volunteer.

    • At this point, the faster we get to civil war post a Hilary victory the better. It would give her limited time to solidify her hold on power.

    • “…it will be quick and decisive.”

If it comes to that, we can hope. History doesn’t suggest that a fast and decisive resolution is likely, though.

    • Huh, funny you should say that. It is exactly what people were saying the last time we went to that dance. The South, full of pride and military bravado, was certain of fast victory, while the enrollments for the North were for only 90 days.

    • If war is coming it won’t be civil, it will be nuclear. Mr. Spock and Lurch seem to be hell bent on forcing a confrontation over Syria. We may not make it to the election let alone inauguration.

      • Unfortunately, that is possible. Feel familiar?

“The 80’s called, and they want their foreign policy back.”

        Who’s the fool now, Barry?

  14. All that counts in this election is the future of the Supreme Court.
With Hildabeast we will be buried as will your grandchildren for generations with a bunch of Liberals and what they want..
Nothing will change in Chicago’s slums. Regardless of what the police do or don’t do.

  15. They make it sound like The Donald himself is out there shooting random bystanders in Chicago instead of tweeting about Miss Universe. Although I guess he could send tweets between drive-bys…

    • I’ve seldom seen a metaphor so badly abused. The carpet was stained purple from all the prose, the allegories were strained until they snapped like twigs, it was awful.

  16. I challenge anyone to listen to the police band for Chicago and not think more people should be getting shot. An app on my phone let’s me listen to a bunch of police and fire dispatchers across the country. The insanity that goes on is incredible. You get addicted to listening and at first you get upset at the casual attitude of the dispatcher and police. Then you realize it’s non stop call after call of man with a gun man with a knife a gang of young men wearing hoodies beating a man. Men harassing people on the sidewalk. In Prescott I don’t see it being tolerated. Any place that has open carry is a polite society. Our LE are used to seeing people carrying firearms and they welcome it and that’s half the battle.

    • Not “open carry”. The answer is “unlicensed carry”, open or not. SHTF, all of a sudden, from a standing start, freaking *EVERYBODY* is armed, riot ends in moments, and the surviving anarchists never return.

  17. “The police would also be instructed to use the least amount of force necessary…”

That may sound benign, but it’s not. Anyone who feels that they may need to use a firearm in self-defense should look at that sentence, dissect it, and recognize the poison pill therein- because these ‘policies’ have a way of becoming ‘law’ at least in practice and jury rooms… and not just for cops.

And the problem is that the Chicago Police Department is instructing its officers that, to be within policy, they must disregard some of the most well-established federal caselaw for defending themselves (Graham v. Connor). That case set up the ‘objectively reasonable’ standard of using force (everything from a punch to a shotgun) and such a standard has been used for non-police since then as well. What’s the problem with saying one must use the ‘least force necessary?’

Well, how can you ever know what the least force necessary was? If some guy comes at you with a machete and you shoot him, you are going to jail. After all, you might have been able to use your baton or pepper-spray. Or, to use a less police-y example… if someone has said he’s going to kill you and has knocked you to the ground and is beating you there, you better not go for your gun until exhausting all possible options. What about the mugger with a gun? If it’s unloaded it was not necessary for you to shoot him. WE all know that’s an absurd idea (since you couldn’t know it was unloaded) but words have meanings and there’s a reason the Supreme Court set out the standard as ‘objectively reasonable’ rather than the pithier ‘necessary.’

The problem is that, essentially, the only way to know if a level of force is ‘necessary’ is to exhaust all lower levels of force first. And while you’re failing at wrist locks, shin kicks, punches and pepper spray at any moment the attacker might decide to, you know, just kill you.

    • You may not be old enough to remember this, but before Castle Law, equivalent force was the law in most states. Someone broke into your house with a bat, you weren’t allowed to go for the gun, in fact many states had you required to run if you could (duty to retreat).

CPD is about as incompetent with firearms and when to use them as NYPD and LAPD. I know where you”re going with your post, but Chicagoland’s chuckleheads need some serious remedial instruction.

  18. So it sounds like the new getaway method for criminals in Chicago when confronted by police will be simply to say “if you want to stop me you’ll have to shoot me” and walk away.

  19. No arts group in the city has done more than Steppenwolf for Young Adults to tackle the agonizing, relentless, quotidian problem of gun violence in the city of Chicago

Way to set the bar high, there. You join the exalted company of my dog, since I can honestly say no Michigan border collie has done more to tackle Chicago gun violence.

  20. Don’t let the people who claim they can’t un-F themselves until they “fix” you, offer to “fix” anything. Don’t let their overbearing (DOJ) overwatch “we’re from the government and we’re here to help” aholes offer to fix anything for you either.

If they approach, make them show their hands and lay face down on the ground with their hands on the backs of their heads. Cuff them behind the back and leave them laying their while you kneel on their necks to do a gloved pat & search. Ask them if they are aware of their rights, and leave them there for ~ 2 hours while your backup comes.

  21. I am ardently pro-gun and pro-Republican. I ache at the thought of HRC being president, but I must say that the commenter known as “Gov. William J Le Petomane”, above, articulates it best and puts my thoughts into words. He is very wise and realistic. I appreciate his comments very much and have shared them with others. We just need to ride out a 4 year HRC presidency with control of the House/Senate.

    • Anyone who thinks that Hillocrap won’t be worse than DJT hasn’t been paying attention. Pantyhole sounds like a HRC supporter or a Globalist Republican.

Here’s who needs to lose BIG in this election:
      HRC
      (D)
      The U.N.
      Globalists
      Non-conservative Republicans
      Russia
      China
      ISIS
      EU
      Pakistan
      Iran
      Mid and South Saharan Africa
      Saudi Arabia
      Syria
      Libya
      Yemen
      Afghanistan
      N. Korea
      Liberalism
      Progressivism
      Communism
      Socialism
      George Soros
      Bill Ayers
      Radical and Moderate islam
      The “Mainstream Media”
      Illegal Aliens
      Christian Apostasy
[YOU DON’T HAVE TO AGREE WITH MY LIST, YOU ONLY HAVE TO DEFEND WHY ONE OF THESE IS WRONG]

      Here’s who needs to win:
      America (Under GOD)

Here’s who’s gonna be the closest choice to make that happen:
      Donald J. Trump

      What’s it gonna be?

      • “Non-conservative Republicans”

Joe, would you care (dare) to define “conservative” in that group? *I* define conservatives as wishing for smaller governments with smaller expenses and lower taxes, reduced regulation and generally decreased interference in my life. But *you* just throw the word out there as if everybody knows what you mean. There are plenty of Republicans who believe that “conservatives” are those who support massive government spending, massive new government regulation, massive federal interference into my life, as long as we can dictate to helpless women what they can or can not do with their own bodies, because an invisible space alien demanded it thousands of years ago, and hasn’t been heard from since. Which “conservative” are you advocating? Because simply hiding what you actually advocate seems a lot like lying to me.

        • Conservatism has naught to do (directly) with politics if it does not consume a person’s daily life and every interaction with everyone else.

Conservatism is what keeps Societal Agreement worth achieving, Societal Agreement can be defined as what keeps a Society together. At Maximum, a “Society” is two (2) people, any two people. Max (even in instances where one of them is pregnant). Societies can be linked to form larger groups, those groups can span the globe, but no ‘grouping’ alleviates (or negates) one member of a Society from executing whatever penalty on the other party for a perceived or supposed break of Societal Agreement by the other. Or if they just so happen to choose to.

“Society, in primal terms, is the name of the treaty, in the suit for peace, for mankind. The term treaty is actually improper here as well, since society is the defining term we place on mankind’s ARMISTICE within itself. Society is the name of the cessation of hostilities within the species of man.
An illustrative example, of its result, is the average U.S. citizens’ positive expectation of obtaining a fresh doughnut, hot cup of coffee, and a current newspaper from the local convenience store, on their way to work.
How far removed from that, is the same individual surviving the natural elements of the night before, and waking to the concern over whether or not armed conflict will be required to maintain the possession of a rudimentary shelter, and the proceeds of the days’ forage and hunt, not to mention, the prospect of protecting the ‘possession’ of a desired mate, and resultant offspring.
The exact distance, between those two possibilities, is often called “society.”
Armistice, however, is not peace, although peace, too, survives under the rules of armed conflict. The most basic of these rules was codified by Carl Von Clausewitz in his treatise “On War”, in which he wrote that peaceable resolution to conflict is only effective, and should only be sought and relied upon, when it is certain that the other party will never resort to arms, with the implication that that is never [2].
Again, society’s armistice is not peace; it is the reduction of conflict to an illimitably sustainable level. The record, for cessation of hostilities, is contained in laws, at times supported by documentation [3].The reason for armistice, however, is not. The reason is only contained within the individual parties. The future and posterity are often drivers for a society. However, an individual’s reason is the reason, the expression of which is only a compilation of approximates [4]. Yet, no man, interested in the fate of a society, should assume that a society is either a resignation of will to the other party or the removal of the obligation to throw it down [move to unsustainable conflict]
          [5] [6].” – J.M.Thomas R., TERMS, 2012, Pg. 20-21

Societal Agreement depends heavily on specific things we communicate as to our understanding of how our agreement got us to this point and how it will continue. It is derived from our understanding of: “Society”, “Security”, “Value”, “Ruin”, “Sovereignty”, “Priority”, “Freedom”, “Equality”, “Liberty”, “Peace”, “Truth”, “War”, “Anthropic”, “Dignity”, “Evil” and “Limits”.

No one lives long enough to define these sufficiently, while still having life left to do anything else, so we sift what works from what has worked, and Conservatism is the backpack that they carry in, and liberalism is just me-too crap that doesn’t work, but people keep trying to stuff in the bag from time to time. It gets sloughed off, or Societal Agreement does, and what reconstitutes the remainder is Conservatism.

          That’s how we get along.

  22. “Isn’t that the standard everybody else is already held to”?
Yes. It’s the only sane standard for a reasonable being to adhere to… just not the current crop of militarized US police. Says a lot about the standards of LE in post 2000 Amerika, don’t it?

  23. Look up “Homan Square”, the (illegal) Chicago “black site” detention facility where suspects are held for days and weeks without access to legal representation. Habeas corpus does not apply to this “black site”…
Law enforcement is out of control, in this country. The militarization, along with training in Israeli tactics have no place in American “law enforcement”.
I state that I have no use for the BLM (black lives movement), BUT they bring up one valid point. The standard for police utilization of deadly force is much lower than that for a regular citizen.
“Equal justice under law” must be applied to ALL. In fact, police should be held to a higher standard…
As it stands now, police can commit crimes with impunity because, in most situations, they investigate themselves…Behavior that would get an ordinary citizen charged, convicted and incarcerated is routinely ignored by “the powers that be” because police are considered to be “above the law” as the “law” is whatever they say it is, the Constitution be damned…
Ever notice that police unions are “fraternal”? This should tell you something. The “thin-blue-line” is a gang, little different than street gangs–at least when it comes to “covering-up” their questionable and quite often, illegal and criminal behavior.
In today’s day and age, “officer safety” trumps de-escalation of force. This, in part, is due to the militarization of the police along with training in Israeli police tactics. This becomes a problem, with the “us vs. them” attitude that is fosters, along with the fact that Israel is a very different place, being on a constant “war footing”, and by necessity, its police tactics are very different.
There are too many instances of police being “given a pass”, even when incontrovertible video and audio evidence is presented. Grand juries, guided by police-friendly prosecutors, quite often refuse to charge those police officers who abuse their authority.
Police officers, who want to do the right thing, are quite often marginalized and put into harms way, by their own brethren…When a police officer is beating on someone that is already restrained while yelling, “stop resisting” THAT is but one reason police have a “bad name” in many instances…this makes the “good cops” who are standing around, witnessing their “brethren in blue” beating on a restrained suspect, culpable as well…

  24. Here are changes that can help reign in abuses:
    1. Get rid of police unions. Police unions (fraternities) protect the guilty, and are responsible for the massive whitewashing of questionable police behavior that is presently being committed. Here are changes that can help reduce police-induced violence:
    2. Eliminate both “absolute” and “qualified” immunity for all public officials. This includes, prosecutors and judges, police and firefighters, code enforcement and child protective services officials, and others who deal with the citizenry. The threat of being sued personally would encourage them to behave themselves. Require police officers to be “bonded” by an insurance company, with their own funds. No bond= no job.
    3. Any public funds disbursed to citizens as a result of police misconduct should come out of police pension funds–NOT from the taxpayers.
    4. Regular drug-testing of police officers as well as incident-based drug testing should take place whenever an officer is involved in a violent situation with a citizen–no exceptions.
    5. Testing for steroid use should be a part of the drug testing program. You know damn well, many police officers “bulk up” with the “help” of steroids. Steroids also affect users mentally as well, making them more aggressive. The potential for abuse of citizens increases greatly with steroid use.
    6. Internal affairs should only be used for disagreements between individual officers–NOT for investigations involving citizen abuse. State-level investigations should be mandatory for all suspected abuses involving citizens.
    7. Prosecutors should be charged with malfeasance IF any evidence implicating police officer misconduct is not presented to the grand jury.
    8. A national or state-by-state database of abusive individuals who should NEVER be allowed to perform police work should be established–a “blacklist” of abusive (former) police officers.
    9. Most people are unaware that police have special “rules” that prohibit them from being questioned for 48 hours. This allows them to “get their stories straight” and makes it easier to “cover up” bad police behavior. Police must be subject to the same laws as civilians.
    10. All police should be required to wear bodycams and utilize dashcams that cannot be turned off. Any police officers who causes a dash or body cam to be turned off should be summarily fired–no excuses. Today’s body and dash cams are reliable enough to withstand harsh treatment. Body and dashcam footage should be uploaded to a public channel “on the cloud” for public perusal.
    11. All interrogations must be video and audio recorded. Police should be prohibited from lying or fabricating stories in order to get suspects to confess. False confessions ARE a problem in many departments. Unknown to most people, police can lie with impunity while civilians can be charged with lying to police…fair? I think not…
    12. Any legislation passed that restricts the rights of ordinary citizens, such as firearms magazine capacity limits, types of weapons allowed, or restrictive concealed-carry laws should apply equally to police. No special exemptions to be given to police. Laws must be equally applied.
Police work is not inherently dangerous…there are many other professions that are much more dangerous.
A little “Andy Taylor” could go a long way in allaying fears that citizens have of police.
That being said, I have no problem with police officers who do their job in a fair, conscientious manner…however, it is time to call to task those police officers who only “protect and serve” themselves.

    • “Body and dashcam footage should be uploaded to a public channel “on the cloud” for public perusal”

Boy, do I agree with that. After thousands of hours watching cops sleeping, smoking doobies, porking admirers, and generally throwing taxpayer money away, maybe we could cut the amount of money we’re spending for cops by 50-90%, replacing with armed citizens.
