Not really. Gang activity is generally confined to the South and West sides. There are large portions of the city that there is little or no gang activity. Just look at the distribution of crime in the city. However once the police use of force is constrained to the point where officer no longer confront suspects than the gangs will be free to operate with impunity in places where they currently cannot. This has been the Democrats objective since at least 2009 And probably before. Crime is their primary tool for social control, not the so-called militarized police.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re writing or describing, but I think I understand well enough to understand. I think you are right, it will be much like a dirty war, or “Unintended Consequences”.
However, my fear is that we don’t hit hard or fast ENOUGH. Mcveigh initially had a targeted attack against Janet Reno in mind, but he decided it was “too hard” and so did the building in OKC.
One thing that UC did not contend with was the massive militarization of police, and the continuity of government plans, along with the suspension of Habeas corpus that is now legal.
I don’t think anything can happen if we don’t strike immediately, with crippling power. Look to Syria to see what a stalled movement that isn’t decisive enough will turn into.
The fact is, if you try to take a shot against a regime, as citizens, you need an absolutely MASSIVE backing that will literally refuse to work for the regime- which we don’t have. So the only other option is immediate, decisive, and quick action. Honestly, if one of you Trumpies could convince me that a Thedonald presidency would be one bit better than a Hildebeest presidency he’d get my vote. The CCP helped a Chinese company steal the IP from Segway for their proprietary mobility device. That Chinese company then proceeded to undercut Segway with knockoff products in the world market. Because Segway had invested a pile of money in developing the technology and were not able to recoup their costs due to Chinese knockoffs of their design, they got into financial trouble. This allowed the same Chinese company that stole their IP in the first place to buy them out and destroy an American company.
Segway is just one example. There are hundreds of them. Chinese trade and IP warfare against US companies costs the US economy a sizable percentage of our GDP every year. What Trump is proposing is not “starting” a “trade war”, it’s fighting back against countries that have been waging economic warfare against the US for decades.

As far as Segway goes it’s a cursed company. A British millionaire bought the company a few years ago and within a year died when he rode his Segway over a cliff (seriously). My guess is the last owners cashed in before all the lawsuits over the hoverboard could be filed. Not that patent infringement isn’t a problem with some foreign companies, but we have trade commissions and international courts to deal with those violations. The thing Trump and his supporters can’t bring themselves to understand is even if every single Republican and Republican leaning voters in America voted for Trump, he tops out at 42%. Things are more complicated in a four way race, but to secure a victory, he needed to expand his appeal beyond that. He had five months after getting the 1,237 delegates he needed to secure the nomination. He clinched a full month before Clinton. He could have spent all that time unifying his party and broadening his appeal, but he did almost nothing for months.
Layer on top of that the fact that he’s that he’s basically that supervisor from work who thinks he’s brilliant and hilarious, and he really, really isn’t. It’s not an appealing package. It’s not a package that wins general elections.

Voluntary service outside the age requirements is not forbidden and therefore legal. Ergo, everyone is in the militia either by draft or by choice if they call outside what is draftable.

I believe it could come to a civil war. and it will be quick and decisive, I believe. I always ask one question when people start getting loud about their beliefs. “Are you willing to die for that statement? Would you be the first one to spill their blood for that goal?” And when it comes to gun control measures, I’ve yet to hear a single liberal volunteer.
At this point, the faster we get to civil war post a Hilary victory the better. It would give her limited time to solidify her hold on power.

I challenge anyone to listen to the police band for Chicago and not think more people should be getting shot. An app on my phone let’s me listen to a bunch of police and fire dispatchers across the country. The insanity that goes on is incredible. You get addicted to listening and at first you get upset at the casual attitude of the dispatcher and police. Then you realize it’s non stop call after call of man with a gun man with a knife a gang of young men wearing hoodies beating a man. Men harassing people on the sidewalk. In Prescott I don’t see it being tolerated. Any place that has open carry is a polite society. Our LE are used to seeing people carrying firearms and they welcome it and that’s half the battle.
Not “open carry”. The answer is “unlicensed carry”, open or not. SHTF, all of a sudden, from a standing start, freaking *EVERYBODY* is armed, riot ends in moments, and the surviving anarchists never return.

That may sound benign, but it’s not. Anyone who feels that they may need to use a firearm in self-defense should look at that sentence, dissect it, and recognize the poison pill therein- because these ‘policies’ have a way of becoming ‘law’ at least in practice and jury rooms… and not just for cops.
And the problem is that the Chicago Police Department is instructing its officers that, to be within policy, they must disregard some of the most well-established federal caselaw for defending themselves (Graham v. Connor). That case set up the ‘objectively reasonable’ standard of using force (everything from a punch to a shotgun) and such a standard has been used for non-police since then as well. What’s the problem with saying one must use the ‘least force necessary?’
Well, how can you ever know what the least force necessary was? If some guy comes at you with a machete and you shoot him, you are going to jail. After all, you might have been able to use your baton or pepper-spray. Or, to use a less police-y example… if someone has said he’s going to kill you and has knocked you to the ground and is beating you there, you better not go for your gun until exhausting all possible options. What about the mugger with a gun? If it’s unloaded it was not necessary for you to shoot him. WE all know that’s an absurd idea (since you couldn’t know it was unloaded) but words have meanings and there’s a reason the Supreme Court set out the standard as ‘objectively reasonable’ rather than the pithier ‘necessary.’
The problem is that, essentially, the only way to know if a level of force is ‘necessary’ is to exhaust all lower levels of force first. And while you’re failing at wrist locks, shin kicks, punches and pepper spray at any moment the attacker might decide to, you know, just kill you.
You may not be old enough to remember this, but before Castle Law, equivalent force was the law in most states. Someone broke into your house with a bat, you weren’t allowed to go for the gun, in fact many states had you required to run if you could (duty to retreat).
CPD is about as incompetent with firearms and when to use them as NYPD and LAPD. I know where you”re going with your post, but Chicagoland’s chuckleheads need some serious remedial instruction.
So it sounds like the new getaway method for criminals in Chicago when confronted by police will be simply to say “if you want to stop me you’ll have to shoot me” and walk away.

Conservatism is what keeps Societal Agreement worth achieving, Societal Agreement can be defined as what keeps a Society together. At Maximum, a “Society” is two (2) people, any two people. Max (even in instances where one of them is pregnant). Societies can be linked to form larger groups, those groups can span the globe, but no ‘grouping’ alleviates (or negates) one member of a Society from executing whatever penalty on the other party for a perceived or supposed break of Societal Agreement by the other. Or if they just so happen to choose to.

Societal Agreement depends heavily on specific things we communicate as to our understanding of how our agreement got us to this point and how it will continue. It is derived from our understanding of: “Society”, “Security”, “Value”, “Ruin”, “Sovereignty”, “Priority”, “Freedom”, “Equality”, “Liberty”, “Peace”, “Truth”, “War”, “Anthropic”, “Dignity”, “Evil” and “Limits”.
No one lives long enough to define these sufficiently, while still having life left to do anything else, so we sift what works from what has worked, and Conservatism is the backpack that they carry in, and liberalism is just me-too crap that doesn’t work, but people keep trying to stuff in the bag from time to time. It gets sloughed off, or Societal Agreement does, and what reconstitutes the remainder is Conservatism.
That’s how we get along.

Law enforcement is out of control, in this country. The militarization, along with training in Israeli tactics have no place in American “law enforcement”.
I state that I have no use for the BLM (black lives movement), BUT they bring up one valid point. The standard for police utilization of deadly force is much lower than that for a regular citizen.

As it stands now, police can commit crimes with impunity because, in most situations, they investigate themselves…Behavior that would get an ordinary citizen charged, convicted and incarcerated is routinely ignored by “the powers that be” because police are considered to be “above the law” as the “law” is whatever they say it is, the Constitution be damned…
Ever notice that police unions are “fraternal”? This should tell you something. The “thin-blue-line” is a gang, little different than street gangs–at least when it comes to “covering-up” their questionable and quite often, illegal and criminal behavior.
In today’s day and age, “officer safety” trumps de-escalation of force. This, in part, is due to the militarization of the police along with training in Israeli police tactics. This becomes a problem, with the “us vs. them” attitude that is fosters, along with the fact that Israel is a very different place, being on a constant “war footing”, and by necessity, its police tactics are very different.
There are too many instances of police being “given a pass”, even when incontrovertible video and audio evidence is presented. Grand juries, guided by police-friendly prosecutors, quite often refuse to charge those police officers who abuse their authority.
Police officers, who want to do the right thing, are quite often marginalized and put into harms way, by their own brethren…When a police officer is beating on someone that is already restrained while yelling, “stop resisting” THAT is but one reason police have a “bad name” in many instances…this makes the “good cops” who are standing around, witnessing their “brethren in blue” beating on a restrained suspect, culpable as well…
Here are changes that can help reign in abuses:
1. Get rid of police unions. Police unions (fraternities) protect the guilty, and are responsible for the massive whitewashing of questionable police behavior that is presently being committed.Here are changes that can help reduce police-induced violence:
2. Eliminate both “absolute” and “qualified” immunity for all public officials. This includes, prosecutors and judges, police and firefighters, code enforcement and child protective services officials, and others who deal with the citizenry. The threat of being sued personally would encourage them to behave themselves. Require police officers to be “bonded” by an insurance company, with their own funds. No bond= no job.
3. Any public funds disbursed to citizens as a result of police misconduct should come out of police pension funds–NOT from the taxpayers.
4. Regular drug-testing of police officers as well as incident-based drug testing should take place whenever an officer is involved in a violent situation with a citizen–no exceptions.
5. Testing for steroid use should be a part of the drug testing program. You know damn well, many police officers “bulk up” with the “help” of steroids. Steroids also affect users mentally as well, making them more aggressive. The potential for abuse of citizens increases greatly with steroid use.
6. Internal affairs should only be used for disagreements between individual officers–NOT for investigations involving citizen abuse. State-level investigations should be mandatory for all suspected abuses involving citizens.
7. Prosecutors should be charged with malfeasance IF any evidence implicating police officer misconduct is not presented to the grand jury.
8. A national or state-by-state database of abusive individuals who should NEVER be allowed to perform police work should be established–a “blacklist” of abusive (former) police officers.
9. Most people are unaware that police have special “rules” that prohibit them from being questioned for 48 hours. This allows them to “get their stories straight” and makes it easier to “cover up” bad police behavior. Police must be subject to the same laws as civilians.
10. All police should be required to wear bodycams and utilize dashcams that cannot be turned off. Any police officers who causes a dash or body cam to be turned off should be summarily fired–no excuses. Today’s body and dash cams are reliable enough to withstand harsh treatment. Body and dashcam footage should be uploaded to a public channel “on the cloud” for public perusal.
11. All interrogations must be video and audio recorded. Police should be prohibited from lying or fabricating stories in order to get suspects to confess. False confessions ARE a problem in many departments. Unknown to most people, police can lie with impunity while civilians can be charged with lying to police…fair? I think not…
12. Any legislation passed that restricts the rights of ordinary citizens, such as firearms magazine capacity limits, types of weapons allowed, or restrictive concealed-carry laws should apply equally to police. No special exemptions to be given to police. Laws must be equally applied.
Police work is not inherently dangerous…there are many other professions that are much more dangerous.
A little “Andy Taylor” could go a long way in allaying fears that citizens have of police.
That being said, I have no problem with police officers who do their job in a fair, conscientious manner…however, it is time to call to task those police officers who only “protect and serve” themselves.

Boy, do I agree with that. After thousands of hours watching cops sleeping, smoking doobies, porking admirers, and generally throwing taxpayer money away, maybe we could cut the amount of money we’re spending for cops by 50-90%, replacing with armed citizens.
