A CZ P-07 with a Kydex IWB holster and a spare mag in a Kydex mag holster are the stars of this pocket dump. The CZ has a grip sleeve, something I like to add to some of my own handguns (yeah, different companies tend to label them using varying names such as grip gloves or simply grips). Do you all use grip sleeves on your handguns and if so, which brands do you prefer?
I don’t use them… Every pistol I have ever owned had enough texture on it from the factory that I liked it as is .
I stippled a g43 then I found the new S&W m2.0 lineup. Personally, I just wanted to try the stipple, but I would never pay for it and no, it didn’t change anything! I would never use any kind of other grip thingy either. I get people wanting to customize things to an extent, and some stipple jobs do look REALLY good… but not worth the effort or price that the Glock fanboys charge IMO.
FYI; Have tried grip sleeves. The stick on type are great. The slide on type loosen up after about a year and become more hindrance than help. YMMV.

Grip sleeves don’t appeal to me. Can’t argue with the handgun choice, though.
the plastic CZ’s work and feel every bit as good as their metal brothers but they just don’t look as good.

The Pachmayr sleeves seem loose and wiggly to me.
My wife has a Hogue Handall with beavertail on her 43 and loves it.
It is solid and secure, I might get to to lengthen the distance to the trigger for me.
Haven’t tried any others.
I built a 1911 and put Pachmayer wraparound grips on it. Shot it for awhile but changed them back to the classic Rosewood slabs. Better for for my hands.
I’ve never used one. All the grips on my pistols/revolvers are stock except that I changed out to a Hogue grip on my Taurus 85 Ultralite.
It wasn’t so much a comfort thing as not being able to get a good hold on the dinky grip that came on the gun. I needed something longer to wrap my hand around.
Every one of my handguns has a TALON grip. They just work for me. It’s a combination of the texture, the longevity, easy of applying it and using it, and the cost. I’m sure there’s better options out there for other people, but those are consistently great for me over stock. I also like that every pistol generally feels the same now.
I have had a Hogue on my Keltec P-11 for 23 years now. It has never slipped. One on my S&W Bodyguard too. Both because of the small size of the grip more than anything else.
Hogue wraparounds on my 1911 and Beretta 92. A little big but they don’t slip in the hand!

I would never use one on my CZ-75 compact. Despite the name, the grip is pretty fat already.

No sleeves.
Certain pistols have gotten Tractiongrips.
Rubber tape or the old standby; rubber bands.
Cheap, customizable works on everything.
Bike tire tube, 1 will last for years, I usually use the ones the GF changes out from her road bike, adds plenty grip snd stays put.

Only grips I haver changed out were the rosewood ones that came with my NAA mini-mag. Put on the rubber grip panels not the slip on boot. All others have stock stocks. The grips on my single six are showing the beautiful patina that only shows after years of service. (and some blood) This is an old photo. I remember thinking ” who wants a white holster?”

Pretty funny I just stumbled across this post while surfing around on TTAG – this is my pic from Every Day Carry posted a few weeks ago. FWIW, I’ve since ditched the grip sleeve – after shooting it for a bit, it just felt a little too squirmy for my liking, so I’m back to the naked grip, which is quite good.
And the main reason I tried the grip sleeve to begin with wasn’t really for more grippiness, but because I wanted a little more girth. But after continuing to spend time with the P-07 and experimenting a little more with the different backstrap options, I’ve got it pretty dialed in and am used to it now. What a great gun…
I put a rubber sleeve on my old, polymer-frame P95. That Ruger needed help as the grip was way too slick. Replaced it about 5 years ago with a gen 4 Glock 19 which has a nice surface contour right out of the box, but I never could get comfortable with the striker fire action and the grip angle, so I traded the Glock for a P-07. Wasn’t totally pleased with the CZ at first, as it felt rough and tight. Fortunately, the trigger, slide release and de-cock lever have all smoothed out very nicely after putting a few hundred rounds through it. The P-07 grip feels quite secure and fits my hand well, so no sleeve needed. This CZ is fast becoming my all-time favorite semi-auto pistol.
Yeah, I could never find peace with Glock grip angles either. CZs feel much more natural in my hand. CZs are definitely known for smoothing out with time and usage, and that’s certainly been the case with mine. While it isn’t a Sig SRT trigger by any means, it is still much nicer than just about any striker fired trigger I’ve used, and is only getting better the more I shoot it.
Btw, I deliberately put 500 rounds of mixed ammo through my P-07, right out of the box and without a single cleaning the whole time. It performed flawlessly, and continues to. I honestly don’t think there is a better pistol on the market for the average street price – you get a lot with CZs.
