The speed, precision and dynamic performance afforded by CZ-USA’s handguns have made it the leading name for practical shooting disciplines like IPSC, USPSA, 3-Gun and Steel Challenge, a position CZ is not planning to yield any time soon.

The sport-shooting world reveres the CZ Tactical Sport for its crisp single-action trigger and long sight radius. Now, the pistol has evolved into the Tactical Sport 2 (TS2), a brand-new, built-from-the-ground-up firearm that represents the next generation in tactical sport pistols.

The TS2 was designed and built for competition shooters in the tradition of the company’s highly successful Shadow 2, mimicking its slide profile with the reciprocating weight positioned as low as possible for smoother operation, less muzzle flip and faster follow-up shots. Additionally, the TS2’s redesigned frame and improved ergonomics also reduce muzzle flip so that it’s less noticeable than ever.

The steel-framed, 9mm TS2 is an outstanding and affordable entry-level competition handgun with a wide variety of compatible accessories already available, as the large aftermarket of custom parts already available for the original Tactical Sport pistol are fully compatible with the TS2!

The new pistol comes with 20-round standard magazines and distinctive blue aluminum grips with aggressive checkering above a healthily flared magwell.

Front and rear cocking serrations on the slide make racking this pistol easy for practically anyone, with or without gloves. With a fiber-optic front sight, the included set of fixed target sights are rugged enough to withstand rough competition use.

The adaptable pistol can be easily fine-tuned to an individual shooter to be faster and more precise at the firing line, with the aforementioned custom parts for the Tactical Sport platform.

This new pistol is sure to become a favorite among IPSC/USPSA shooters, as well as beginners looking to get into competition pistol shooting for the first time.

  1. OMG, look at that mag release button. I think “competition only” is a good designation for this pistol.

  2. CZ would do well to simply take the 75B, and do some modernization to it. The frame needs some checkering added front and back, some thin micarta grips would help, along with a reduced reach to the trigger, along with lighter springs on the trigger. Basically the same sort of treatment Langdon Tactical does on the Beretta 92.

    • The Tactical Sport is a LARGE frame CZ. The magazines and grip size are NOT the same as a 75. The Shadows and Shadow 2s are probably a more resemble option for a “starter” competition pistol. This is just a facelift to match the Shadow 2s

  3. I have a 75B in .40

If they “modernize” the platform then they still need to keep a classic look/model available. Even w/o checkering the finish and feel is like a warm mitten – it just fits right in the hand. I’d like micarta or G10 grips standard, a metal guide rod vs plastic, and some internal work though. Otherwise the classic should remain visually untouched and there is something about the black matte and sleek curves that just makes it. They could use the other models and variations if they want to make it more “modern”.

I am likely going to either add some nice wood grips or some colored G10 grips at some point and replace the stock plastic rod with mine.

  4. Contrary to the article a competitive beginner should not begin with a fiirearm that retails for $1700.00. Get a Canik for 1/3 the price and spend the rest on practice ammo.

    • “Get a Canik for 1/3 the price and spend the rest on practice ammo.”

      Preach it, verified real Deborah…

      • Assuming fake Debbie gives a different email address than real Debbie, can we just nuke her posts ten minutes after she goes away?

One time I said something to real Debbie, and shortly after she went after me with a sexual attack. Took me a while to realize Debbie had left the room and fake Debbie had taken over.

  5. This is like Sig’s P320. CZ has reworked so many versions of this model that I feel like I’ve already seen this exact pistol being introduced several times.

  6. I love my TS. Stable platform with an amazing trigger. Fiber optic front sight was first upgrade I did so I’m glad they do it standard now. Too bad it won’t be on the CA roster.

  7. Why aluminum grips? ,,,,,I’m still laughing about the “Siege on the Whitehouse” and the congressmen and senators all acting like rockets were flying through the windows. I’m sure their all going to award themselves medals. Then you got the enforcement shooting a woman and in the background you can here one of the enforcers saying, “We’ve got an active shooter”, yeah it’s your own doing the shooting yah dumb bastard. Can the media say Assault just one more time?ulp there it was again. Never mind national reciprocity, the Dems are going to give us national marijuana, yay, next up The Opium Wars, Wang Chung.

  8. The CZ-75 has been a platform for race guns since the early 90’s when I was shooting IPSC with a Witness Gold Team, which is very much like this offering. My magazines are 21 rounders and IPSC-regulation length.

    • never mind that, what does it have to do with john boch?
anyone who can look at the past (four+) years of sedition and treason on behalf of trunks opposition and see this nothingburger as a “coup attempt” is silly.
just another blip of hysteria. we may see a coup attempt, and in the interest of righting some wrongs, these things happen, but it would take more than some yahoos to overthrow a gov’t.

    • It has nothing to do with the CZ. That Marxist likes to pretend people read the nonsense he writes, it helps make him feel important.

  9. This is a gun squarely targeted at competition shooters, as stated in the review. If you aren’t a competition shooter, you wont get the reason for it.

And no, $1,600 for a competitive limited division gun is not expensive. Most iron sighted 2011 limited guns start around $2,000 and head up from there.

  10. Why don’t they offer this in 40 so it’s actually useful in limited like it’s designed for? Honestly it doesn’t look that different from the ts orange, it looks like the frame is cut like the czechmate/tso, so 1699 is reasonable, and basically what you pay for a TSO, but 9mm… More of a rich mans plinking gun or steel challenge/falling plate match gun than a uspsa gun when limited to minor scoring.
