“Brian Stocks,” based in Oregon, offers 3D-printed 7.25” 7.5″ and 7.75″ Shorty A2 Stocks for AR-15 rifles, designed as a modern remake of once-discontinued Rock River Arms (RRA) A2-style stocks.
This compact, fixed stock is specifically for builders seeking a lightweight, durable solution for short-barreled rifle (SBR) projects or retro AR-15 configurations and needs a nice perfect custom fit. “Brian Stocks” as he is known on Northwest Firearms forum groups, produces A2 stocks that combine classic A2 aesthetics with the customization potential of 3D printing, addressing a gap left by a few commercial manufacturers who no longer produce similar designs.
“Brian Stocks” currently has one of the cleanest track records for durability with zero reported failures in 2 years, top-of-the-line printers, and materials that can withstand both shock, impact, and of course heat.
The Shorty A2 Stock measures 7.25” in length, providing the maneuverability of a collapsed M4 or CAR stock while retaining the fixed profile of a traditional A2 stock. It weighs 13 oz, including the buffer tube, minimizing impact on the rifle’s balance.
The stock is compatible with standard carbine buffer tubes and castle nuts, ensuring seamless integration with most AR-15 lower receivers. It supports standard carbine buffer springs and buffers, making it a straightforward addition to existing builds.

Constructed using premium 3D printing materials, the stock is described as “super strong” by “Brian Stocks,” indicating its ability to withstand the recoil and stress of regular use. While the specific filament is not disclosed, high-strength materials like PETG or glass-fiber-reinforced nylon are commonly used in similar 3D-printed firearm components for their durability.
The stock in the listing is unfinished, but “Brian Stocks” offers customization options, including gloss or matte finishes, to meet aesthetic or tactical preferences. Buyers can opt for a matte finish to reduce glare in field conditions, enhancing the stock’s versatility.
Priced starting at $175 shipped with an average ending price of around $210 or so, each stock that Brian makes is made to order and to the exact specifications of the customer.
The compact design is ideal for SBRs, retro-clones like the Mk12, or rifles built for compliance with restrictive state laws, such as California’s fixed-stock requirements. “Brian Stocks” notes that RRA and other manufacturers have discontinued short A2-style stocks, making this 3D-printed version a unique solution for enthusiasts.

Wonder how long it will take for F-Book to nuke that page…
…because guns bad, don’t ya know…
Let me see if I understand. It’s a fixed stock that’s as short as a fully collapsed M-4 stock. A stock that can be adjusted to at least four positions. A quality one locks up rigid and has a good cheek weld. This is an answer looking for a question.
needs a secret compartment for paracord and field notes.
c, paracord is always a good idea any where. I never wrote down anything in the field. That’s intell that can be used against you. Later I had a job that required me to make notes and reports that a lot of people tried to use against me. I had to be very careful what I put on paper.
