CSGV Facebook post

Following the lead of New York Daily News’ aptly named columnist Linda Stasi, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence recently labelled the NRA a terrorist organization. I’m surprised it’s taken the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) this long to join the throng of anti-gunners confusing pro-gun patriots with people who want to exterminate Americans, wipe their feet on our Constitution and establish a totalitarian theocracy. What really galls me . . .

is the antis’ cheapening of the term “terrorist.” It belittles the sacrifices Americans (and others) have made – continue to make – to protect innocent life. I’m also offended that they would evoke the Founding Fathers’ name in their campaign to degrade and destroy Americans’ natural, civil and Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. A right the Founding Fathers sought to protect. Go figure.

Meanwhile, the CSGV’s inadvertent admission “that the Second Amendment has nothing to do” with children “constantly being shot” is unintentionally funny. As for their contention that “this” (meaning private gun ownership) equals vigilantism and anarchy, which vigilante is shooting “bad” kids, exactly? For what? Not eating their vegetables?

The CSGV’s contention that private gun ownership = anarchy is far more revealing. It highlights their not-so-hidden desire for the kind of “order” that only an all-powerful state can (in theory) provide. A society where only the police and the military have guns (the CSGV has never suggested that the State disarm).

In short, once we’re throwing labels around, the CSGV are fascists. Wait. Fascists aren’t fascists right wingers? Nope. And history has shown us that the leap from aspiring fascist to practicing terrorist is a short one. Just sayin’ . . .

  1. “Our Founders” taught their children how to safely handle and respect firearms, just like current responsible gun owners do.

      • See the above, you ignorant moron. And if you have actually fallen for the evangelical nonsense attacks on Planned Parenthood then you don’t belong in any reasonable discussion concerning any topic.

I bet you wathced those videos and accepted them unquestionably, didn’t you?

It has been ruled by the Supreme Court that a woman has autonomy over her own body and it is not the governments place to tell her what to do should she become pregnant. Of course we could go back to when abortion was illegal when people found fetus’ in the dumpster and woman died of infection. We could also get rid of
Planned Parenthood that did absolutely nothing illegal with fetal tissue. We could get rid of them, despite that no tax money is used for abortions and abortions are a very miniscule representation of what they do. We could get rid of them and their contraceptive work, their work to combat venereal diseases as well as underage pregnancies, you know the thing that we spend most of our time on. Fuck it, lets give into the anti first amendment (“there’s no such thing as a wall of seperation”) and ignorant evangelical Christian right, lets do it. Maybe they will learn afterwards.

        • Lighten up Francis. No, but seriously, you are a delight. Please post here more often and share your wisdom with our appallingly ignorant minds.

        • Maybe you can explain how it is that they are getting human hearts and human livers and human brain cells out of those non-human “collections of cells”. Margaret Sanger, meet Burke and Hare…

        • Making pregnancy all about the woman and her body image is without a doubt the worst, most evil thing the woman’s liberation movement has done. I can’t believe anybody could actually use the fact that they would be inconvenienced to justify the killing of another human being.

        • See the above, you ignorant moron. And if you have actually fallen for the evangelical nonsense attacks on Planned Parenthood then you don’t belong in any reasonable discussion concerning any topic.

Do you have anything to offer, other than bile and ad hominem?

It has been ruled by the Supreme Court that a woman has autonomy over her own body…

That wouldn’t be the first time that the Supreme Court ruled that one person had autonomy over the life of another person. Thanks for pointing out that abortion is no better, or different from, slavery.

…lets give into the anti first amendment (“there’s no such thing as a wall of seperation”) and ignorant evangelical Christian right…

Indeed, I am ignorant. I lack the knowledge of where the phrase “wall of separation” exists in the text of the first amendment, or anywhere else in the constitution. Would you be so kind as to cite it for me, that I may become less ignorant?

    • Someone should set up a Facebook page called “Campaign to Stop Abortion Violence using CGSV posts as a template changing gun violence to abortion violence. Lefty heads will explode

    • You got to be fucking kidding me! You’re no better then they are. Confusing a woman’s right to have autonomy over her own body with the murder of children. You understand a collection of cells or even a fetus ethically does not take precedence over a thinking autonomous woman, correct?

You, along with many on this site, do nothing but show that both sides of this debate don’t have respect for individual liberty or Supreme Court decisions. You call liberals baby killers and they call you the same.

Show me a liberal that actually supports the killing of babies. Just because your ignorant bronze age religion has taken the place of your ability to determine that an automous woman’s rights and wishes come before the wishes of the government and the pretend wishes that you endow onto a collection of cells or a non viable fetus does not mean that those who understand this concept are “baby killers”. In the same way that you are not a “baby killer” because you continue to support gun rights even after the slaughter of children by guns.

Save your ignorant hyperbole because you aren’t helping the situation!

      • Those babies that Dr Gosnell killed–and took their feet for trophies–were not “non-viable” “collections of cells”. And I haven’t heard a liberal yet condemn him.

      • please post your picture, name and address along with your normal haunts. i do not want to inadvertently want to find myself defending you from actual or threat of deadly force. you aligned yourself with those who do not value the most vulnerable amongst us, as it is written, you have your reward.

      • You got to be fucking kidding me! You’re no better then they are. Confusing a woman’s right to have autonomy over her own body with the murder of children. You understand a collection of cells or even a fetus ethically does not take precedence over a thinking autonomous woman, correct?

Abortion is the killing of a human being – a thinking, feeling human being. Abortion has zero to do with a woman’s autonomy over her own body. The procedure used to effect the abortion doesn’t affect the woman’s body. The procedure most common is to stab the unborn child in the neck, then suck out its brains with a vacuum.

Show me a liberal that actually supports the killing of babies.

Are you actually so ignorant as to believe that there are no such people? Start with Margaret Sanger, who created Planned Parenthood as a eugenic method to eliminate black people. From then until today, there are many people who celebrate – one might even say worship – abortion. Educate yourself, and disabuse yourself of such naivety.

Just because your ignorant bronze age religion has taken the place of your ability to determine…

I see that TTAG’s ad hominem-free zone signs work as well as the typical “gun free zone” sign.

…that an automous woman’s rights and wishes come before the wishes of the government and the pretend wishes that you endow onto a collection of cells or a non viable fetus does not mean that those who understand this concept are “baby killers”. In the same way that you are not a “baby killer” because you continue to support gun rights even after the slaughter of children by guns.

To refer to a living, thinking, feeling human being as merely a “collection of cells”, and on that basis justify the murder of that human being, is morally depraved.

  2. When millions of dead babies became an acceptable price to preserve licentiousness and a “freedom” that does not exist in the constitution, the entire pro-death movement became a terrorist organization.

  3. Call me a terrorist if you want. I consider myself a patriot holding true to our founding fathers desire for dangerous freedom, come for my guns and you’ll see how dangerous freedom can be.

  4. ” A society where only the police and the military have guns.”

That type of thinking has led to the deaths of millions upon millions of men, women, AND children. Time after time, history shows this.

For a group that wants more “reasonable” gun laws, they are showing their true colors and agenda in more shrill tones.

A hearty middle finger salute to you CSGV.

    • Again: “I saw a movie once where only the police and military had guns. It was called ‘Schindler’s List’ “.

      • There are lots of movies depicting all powerful governments that abuse and eliminate citizens deemed dangerous and unworthy. Take V for Vendetta. Sure they portrayed a conservative religious theocracy there, but any intolerant totalitarian philosophy will due. Like the philosophy CSGV, Everytown and it’s mommies, Brady, et al share.

        Keep the powder dry.

        • That’s because the liberal director jacked up the source material. The original bad guys in that story were British fascists. Aka liberals

        • Hollywood’s dystopias are generally headed by “conservative” regimes (cf “The Handmaid’s Tale” and others). Oddly enough, the real dystopias of the world are generally headed by leftist or at least nominally socialist regimes (cf Cuba, North Korea, Zimbabwe, etc)

    • Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Red China, Cambodia, Rwanda, just to put names to the faces of a few. Easily over 100 million dead, just with those five.

That said, abortion in the United States, favored by our homegrown brand of fascists, has claimed 50 million souls in just over a decade or so.

Fascism: We have decided what is best for you. If you know what is good for you, then you will not argue with us.

Also, per RF’s link in the post, “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg is a GREAT book. The quote above is mine, the documentary evidence to prove it is true comes from “Liberal Fascism”.

  5. “Do you think the Founders would have considered children constantly being shot, injured, and killed acceptable?”

I think we should all just ignore the hyperbole, appeal to emotion, and straw-manning and ask this, more important question:

“Do you think the Founders would have considered blaming the water of Boston Harbor for the imposition of the Intolerable Acts?”

(For those who don’t recall their 7th/8th grade history: the Intolerable Acts were a series of acts passed in response to the “Boston Tea Party”)

    • Hell these retards are still trying to figure out what was so bad about the crown wanting to tax something they never laid their hands on. If they had it their way we would be the 50 British colonies under the guidance of the blue hats.

    • While it was not the Founding Fathers, our government seemed fine with the slaughter of women and children all through the Indian wars of the 1800’s.

  6. When an organization is willing to sacrifice victims to be raped, tortured or killed to push their anti-gun agenda then they are terrorists… how many created victims by disarming the law-abiding are acceptable? That’s the questions we should ask back.

    • But the police will protect you from rape. Getting raped? Call 911! Officer Friendly will show up and say, “Stop that raping, raper!”

Your assailant will then step back and say, “Aw, shucks, I really wanted to do some rapin’, but I wouldn’t want to *break the law*”.

He will then hang his head, and trudge off to play some XBOX.

      • The cognitive dissonance one must have to think the police will protect you from every crime except those crimes involving guns (which is their reasoning for banning them) is astounding.

      • That really sounds like something from the cartoon “axe cop”. It’s funny because a father and his son wrote it so jumps of reasoning like that are normal. “Stop rapin you raper!” Hahaha great stuff that.

  7. CSGV has officially gone over the deep end. Again. I think they are suffering from Histrionic personality disorder.

“Histrionic personality disorder is a mental condition in which people act in a very emotional and dramatic way that draws attention to themselves.”

    Other characteristics are:

    self-dramatization,
    theatricality,
    exaggerated expression of emotions,
    suggestibility,
    egocentricity,
    self-indulgence,
    lack of consideration for others,
    easily hurt feelings, and
continuous seeking for appreciation, excitement and attention.

Case in point the continuous attempts to get into the news, and the hyperbolic exaggeration and hysteria (there are many other preventable deaths that the causes kill many more children and people than “gun violence” but fail in being as dramatic)

They are the ones that need help, mental help that they are clearly not getting.

    Ref:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histrionic_personality_disorder

    • I know that a frequent theme is to not sink to the antis’ level, but….. What if we pros put up pictures of people who were murdered because they were disarmed? Prolly Przebel (sp?) comes to mind. Threatened by her ex, called the cops, told them that she was armed, cops came right over…to disarm her (dept. policy). So, she took her kid (kids?) to her mom’s. Ex showed up and murdered both women.

      Just a thought.

        • Sorry Cigardog,

I _used_ to have a file tub with saved articles. “Used to” because we had a house fire in 2010. If I could remember the spelling you might be able to find it.

  8. The end result of dehumanizing a specific demographic has always been the precursor to enslavement and/or genocide. Usually supported and facilitated by the government. Yep, the Founding Fathers knew what they were doing.

  9. Since when does a terrorist organization require dues to be a member?
Wait, and I get theft insurance and a free hat?
Cool. I’ve never been called a terrorist before.

  10. To be called a member of a terrorist organization by the CSGV because I belong to the NRA is laughable. Next they’ll accuse The American Legion of sedition and treason, or The Salvation Army of Satan-worship.

CSGV, you stink of fear and desperation.

  11. CSGV: Please do keep going further and further off the deep end. The more obvious your hate-speech and lies become, the more people catch on to what you really are.

  12. When 300,000 deaths from medical errors became an acceptable price to “preserve” hospitals, the AMA became a domestic terrorist group.

When 32,000 deaths from traffic accidents became an acceptable price to “preserve” use of automobiles, the AAA became a domestic terrorist group.

  13. As a highly safe gun owner in Aus I think this is way over the top. I see allot of good safety education coming out of the NRA. I See a definite bias against guns where they will not tell the true story and instead vilify and demonise to no ends whomever or what ever is Necessary to accomplish their strange perverted control freak agenda. the UN is a strange beast indeed.

  14. Between 10-18-15 and 10-24-15, 51 people were shot in Chicago, and 7 of them died. Much of the blame for this can be attributed to social and economic policies of the local (Democratic run) government, and I would be willing to bet that most of the shooters in this heavily democratic city were democratic voters (or were before they became felons). Despite these deaths and injuries, the local government (Democratic Party)doubles down on its policies to retain and consolidate power. By their own logic the Democratic Party is a terrorist organization just like the NRA since it accepts urban violence to preserve its power in urban areas.

Punch back twice as hard and pass this on.

    • f they were voting dem before they became felons, what makes you think they stopped after they became felons? They don’t even stop voting Dem when they die.

  15. Remember the question asked yesterday, regarding the possibility of engaging in civil discourse with gun-control proponents?

With the likes of CSGV: no, it is not possible. They are beta-male wanna-be tyrants, who want to deny others their rights, but will only send others – namely, armed agents of the state – to do their dirty work for them. They cannot be reasoned with. They can only be defeated.

  16. The anti gun side can’t understand why the pro 2nd side won’t cower and cringe when they call us names. I joined the NRA after Hillary’s enemy speech.

So who will be the next “terrorist” group? Home schoolers? This or that religion? Your political party?

  17. I detect the foul stench of desperation in every thing the anti-gun wingnuts do. They are becoming more and more shrill and frustrated because nothing seems to have moved the needle for them. Not any mass shooting. Not the collaboration of the state controlled media. Not the total commitment of the Democrat party. Not Soros and Bloomberg with their billions. Not the “leadership” of the POTUS who, we were told, would never go after guns.

I expect that the G, in a vain effort to preserve it’s monopoly on violence, will begin to use violence more and more as time goes on. And it will use that violence on us. So fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy night.

      • Yes, they’re calling cops whenever they see an armed citizen. But I notice that in towns where law enforcement understands about the right to keep and bear arms, the 911 operators just tell the false reporter to take a pill and chill.

  18. Of all the articles on TTAG, I think this collection of comments has the highest concentration of “keepers.” Lots of great stuff here!

When I hear or read the hyperbolic labels directed at the NRA and its members, I just look in the mirror and laugh. ME? A “terrorist?” Me? An uneducated OFWG clinging to his religion and guns? I am the polar opposite of all those things. Well… I am white… and “middle aged.” I’m not fat, but could stand to lose 15 pounds. I’m not religious at all. I am a husband and father (2 young children). I am a business owner. I have a doctorate degree…. and I am a Life Member of the NRA… and the SAF.

  19. Things like this illustrate why you can’t “have a conversation” with anti-gun jihadis. As in another posting today, we are up against people who do not know our history, and do not understand personal responsibility. The overwhelming majority of residents in this country believe the nation was founded to make life fair, safe, pleasant, fun, and the promise we can have anything we want.

The founders would likely have had two responses:
    – as people, they would mourn the death of a child
    – as founders of the republic, they would have no room in the central (or maybe even state) government for making the land “safe”.

Understanding the realities of life, the founders would have expected citizens of the new nation to “take care of their own”. The founders (and the whole population) understood that life was hard, children often died before the age of twelve (due to a lot of things the current population would find horrifying), people made mistakes (careless?), the role of government was not to regulate every aspect of life, no one was immune from tragedy.

The population today could not endure a week of society of the 1700s. You cannot talk to such people. They want satisfaction, not reality. They want to be free of any concern for their safety. They want to be free from any obligation to see to their own (the militias of the early republic were required to be familiar with firearms, as were their families). These types of people cannot be moved from their insistence they be protected from adversity in all its forms.

    • The movie “The Outlaw Josie Wales” (Clint Eastwood) is a great example of this. In the final battle it is all of the main characters, women included, fighting an assault by the (I suspect fictional) “Redlegs” who are presumably acting under government authority to apprehend Josie Wales. It is a great view into what life was actually like in America and the west in the late 1860’s.

      • Redlegs were real:

It was a secret Union military society, organized in late 1862 by General Thomas Ewing and James Blunt for desperate service along the border, and numbered as many as 100 men. Inside Kansas they were heros, fighting Confederate raiders (and maybe some brigands). Outside Kansas, the reputation of the Redlegs was less certain.

  20. 1. Defamation
    2. Against our constitutionally guaranteed civil rights
    3. Hateful/intolerant of opposing points of view
    4. Somebody made a point that only fascists call political opponents terrorists. That was a very good point.
    5. *refutes every argument the antis make through logic and facts*
“I DONT CAREBEHAT YOU THUNK I HATE YOU. YOUR JUS A STHUPID TAIRERIST.”

(If you couldn’t tell, the grammatical errors are intentional)

  21. So what does that make the CDC/Pharmaceurical complex when they say children are acceptable collateral damage in the war against some infectious diseases?

  22. It was not the NRA who created gun free zones where success for mass murderers had repeatedly been DEMONSTRATED! The NRA has been trying to ELIMINATE THIS THREAT to the lives of our school children and teachers. Gun free zones are solely owned and operated by DEMOCRATS and the people they’ve duped into believing in them. Naturally, like many evil persons hoping to avoid conviction and punishment: they FALSELY ACCUSE SOMEONE ELSE. WHEN will we finally put a stop to DEMOCRATS?

Sometimes it’s hard to see the realities before our very eyes. But when we DO SEE, then it’s on us to act in accordance with the known facts. If you want to claim the benefits of living as a citizen of this country, then it’s your duty and responsibility to ensure the protection of every other American citizen. Strip the Democratic Party of its power and authority, then arrest and convict them for their inhuman crime.

  23. Idiots. Orders of magnitude more kids are killed by self-poisoning with unsecured household chemicals. Many more kids die of drowning in backyard pools. Thousands of kids die in traffic accidents.

as far as ’cause of death for children under 12 years old’, firearms accidents don’t even make the top 20.

  24. When will these anti-gunners allow us to protect our children instead of bury them?

Their basic premise is a failure of logic. But then, it isn’t about what works and what is true, but “evil guns” for them.

Statistic after study illustrates that the bad guys go where there will be less likelihood of an encounter with someone who could oppose their evil intent.

But wait…again…facts don’t matter to these emotionally driven people. And I have to admit I wouldn’t want them armed…they aren’t emotionally mature enough for that responsibility.

Bless their hearts. You have to pity them.

  25. When the CSGV tries to deny African Americans their civil rights they’re marching in lockstep with the Ku Klux Klan.

    Two can play this game.

  26. From Farago’s part: “…wipe their feet on our Constitution and establish a totalitarian theocracy. ”

I must have missed something. I have never heard anything from CSGV about a theocracy. From Dictionary.com, the definition of theocracy is “a form of government in which God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, the God’s or deity’s laws being interpreted by the ecclesiastical authorities.”

    • Their religion is humanism, their god is the government, abortion is their sacrament, academics are their clergy, being politically correct is their doctrine.

    • …the throng of anti-gunners confusing pro-gun patriots with people who want to exterminate Americans, wipe their feet on our Constitution and establish a totalitarian theocracy.”

I understand it could be misinterpreted if skimmed. If you re-read it, you should understand the intent.

    • To be specific, I think RF is talking about the same bunch who crashed a couple of airplanes into the Twin Towers.

  27. One organization is working to protect our rights, the other, not so much.

Which actions are clearly terroristic or unAmerican in nature?

  28. once we’re throwing labels around, the CSGV are fascists. Wait. Fascists aren’t fascists right wingers? Try Bolsheviks who are a totally bloodless loving group.

  29. Should somebody warn the ACLU, the NAACP, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers that the gun grabbers are coming after them next? The constitution lists many rights, and almost all of them could, at least under some circumstances, impede a government effort to ensure public safety.

    • That’s what cheeses me off about a certain criminal defense attorney (who thankfully has apparently ceded the limelight to Andy Parker); if he springs a criminal due to a police violation of that criminal’s constitutional rights, and that criminal goes on to kill, maim, or rape someone else, he will be the first and loudest to tell you that that’s just the cost of living in a Constitutional republic.

  30. Since we’re terrorists, does that mean they won’t expect us to compromise, right?

So stop yapping about “common sense” BS and try your disarmament process. Let’s find out who will win.

  31. I am a NRA member. CSVG is labeling me a terrorist. I would like to be compensated for slander and or defamation of character and personal suffering. I am willing to send the NRA $5 in an effort for a class action lawsuit to sue the CSVG out of existence and to increase my bank balance. No joking, there ought to be a lawsuit.

  32. If you bleeding heart liberal idiots really want to make a difference and are looking for a worthwhile way to make a difference in this country go do something like volunteer to work at a homeless shelter or a soup kitchen. Kids are killed in car wrecks every day but we don’t make cars illegal. The problem is not a gun problem it’s a common sense problem.

  33. ever wonder why all these anti-gun terrorists/cowards/statists never….never take their campaigns and protests into the inner city of Democrat-controlled cities?

  34. These people who are trying to unconstitutionally amend the constitution through legislation, are calling us terrorists? Who is openly attacking our representative republic, under the guise that it’s the patriotic thing to do? Do these people just have low morals, or do they have no morals at all? Do they posses even a shred of shame? How many of these low, or no morals people are parents, raising kids. How sick and twisted is that scenario?

  35. When you want to take my firearms with your firearms you become a hypocrite and a traitor. Dead children is a sad thing. When you murder Americans because you are a coward and will not protect your family you should grow up. I have the right to protect myself and if you don’t like it tough $hit.
No double standards put DC politicians on Obamacare and SS.Thanks for your support and vote.Pass the word. mrpresident2016.com

  36. So if we are terrorists, when is the CSGV SWAT team going to come to our houses? Oh, that’s right! They don’t have one. They would send other people to do their dirty work because they feel like they are part of the inner party.

  37. I decided this weekend that government just might be a false god to these people. They offer their supplications to it. They view it as all powerful. Or nearly enough. They place all their trust and hopes for the future on it.

They are going to be sorely disappointed someday.

  38. In line with “keeping a low profile” I have never joined the NRA. In light of the NRA being labeled a domestic terror organization by this group and others it is time to stand up and be counted. I just signed a 5 year membership today.

  39. OK, by that logic, if an organization (basically any media outlet) supports the First Amendment by glorifying active shooters to the point it inspires copy cats, they are terrorists.

If an organization (such as the ACLU) supports the Fourth and Fifth Amendments by using them to keep violent criminals out of jail, so they can offend again, they are terrorists.
