Colorado Senate President John Morse paid the ultimate political price today for his dedicated Second Amendment abrogating advocacy. Despite millions of dollars poured into the state by Michael Bloomberg and the rest of the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex (NPR reports pro-recall forces were outspent 7 to 1), Morse has become the first Colorado state senator to be recalled.

Morse officially conceded around 10:30 PM CST, and while the results were extremely close at the time (8,777 to 8,414 with 93% reporting) the writing was on the wall.

Morse had been gloating earlier on Twitter about writing his speech, but I get the feeling that the one he delivered to supporters wasn’t the one he’d hoped for. This represents a massive victory for the pro-gun movement, overcoming the astounding volume of cash that the Democratic party and gun controllers (OK, that’s redundant) poured into the state.

All that’s left to make this a slam-dunk night is for Sen. Angela Giron to follow suit. With results expected by 11 PM and the polls are currently showing 56% in favor of kicking her to the curb, too.

  1. Anti’s had to win both for it to mean anything. We already won by kicking Morse out. Lets see if we cant add insult to injury by throwing Giron out as well.

  2. I live in Ohio, but I donated to the fund for this. I’m overjoyed to see it become a reality!

I hope the rest of the statist leeches in office are seeing this right now. This is what happens to people who screw with our Bill of Rights!

    • I live in CT and donated also. All the people of the gun need to understand that all elections are national elections because these people can screw you no matter where you live.

      • I didn’t donate but I wrote to every CO legislator and told them that my plans to vacation and retire in their state were on the scrap heap. No revenue from me or those like me until the anti-gun legislation is overturned. Hopefully with the events of tonight they will see that such things are not empty threats.

    • Me too. Seeing all the effort the grabber complex was putting in, sending some money to the good guys was the least I could do, from a neighbor state, anyway.

  3. NRA: “The people of Colo. Springs sent a clear message to the Senate leader that his primary job was to defend their rights and freedoms…”

    43% reporting 56.9% Yes, 43% no

  4. Awesome work to the people who contributed and volunteered in this effort. They will spin this away, or try, but I hope it reminds ALL politicians that they can lose their jobs before an election when they act like a dic..tators. Way to go Colorado!

  5. Ballot Issue – State Senate 3 – Recall Giron – Ballot Issue
    September 10, 2013 – 11:46PM ET
    Colorado – 49 of 112 Precincts Reporting – 44%
    Name Votes Vote %
    Yes 9,521 57%
    No 7,202 43%

This is the latest from CBS Denver.

  6. Now instead of telling people to move out of California you should be telling them to move here so we can do the same here.

    • Near term 0%, long term very likely. A few legal moves are happening but everything in the courts takes time and money. On the political front, I doubt it will come up for a vote and if it does, the Gov would veto it.

  7. If Morse is officially ahead by only a few points, then that mean it was a massive landslide. Dems have probably been stuffing ballot boxes and double counting for days so for either of these statists to be ousted means a HUGE 2a turnout… more than they could fabricate. Citizens of Colorado, I salute you on a job well done. Here’s to hoping that that bitch Giron is next! I am not going to sleep now…

  8. It’s about time the People began to speak up and throw some bums out of office. 2 down, 2000 to go! This successful recall is like the Liberty Bell ringing loudly again. It’s time the lawyers and the politicians (mostly lawyers) and the lawyers in black robes learn they don’t always have the final say in this country. Let this start a new (and hopefully peaceful) revolution across this great Nation for States rights to stop the Federal usurpation of those rights.

  9. Bravo to Colorado residents and their supporters .They stood up to the crooked, statist machine which sought to disarm them and won!

Lets keep up the good work folks. Yesterday it was Chicago.Today it was Colorado.Tomorrow,it will be DC itself.

  10. why doesnt calif…i mean Kalifornia or other states have this ability?!?! seriously, this is the proverbial GET OUT OF JAIL FREE card we’ve been needing.

  11. Ones out the other is now behind in the numbers lets all see them jobless for years for what they did. time for us to say to Obama Bloomberg and Dems all over except kaliforina: Bite Me!!!!!!

  12. As my grand dad used to say, “Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out!” And he would have been quite willing to say it to any of these gun grabbers faces.

  13. Well done ladies and gentlemen of the armed intelligentsia! Now lets keep up the good work. Refrain from gloating and keep your schadenfreude to a minimum, there’s much work to be done still. Let’s regroup and get ready for the next round. But why am i telling ya’ll like you don’t know 😀 ? YOU KNOW THE DRILL!

  14. Man oh man, the lights might be out in California, but Colorado’s got their torches lit! I can see you from here, you magnificent bastards! Give em Hell!

  15. Ballot Issue – State Senate 3 – Recall Giron – Ballot Issue

    Colorado – 70 of 112 Precincts Reporting – 63%
    Name Votes Vote %
    Yes 14,306 60%

Wow, it looks like Giron is getting stuffed.

  16. Giron’s gone too. 100% reporting, Yes, 19,355 (56%) No, 15,201 (43.9%)

Dems screaming “Voter Fraud!” and “Voter Supression!!1!” in 3… 2… 1…

  17. Can’t wait to hear the national press in the morning. Another historic moment and victory for civil rights. Well done Colorado and thank you!! Sleep well all but remain ever vigilant. This is only one battle in a long war. And to think, Bloomberg and his buddies out spent the good guys 7 to 1! I hope he chokes on that one good and hard.

  18. And how much coverage will this get in the Mainstream Media?

We need to let people out there that are for Freedom (not just Gun Rights) know that they are not alone.

  19. Kamala Harris,Diane Feinstein,Barbara Boxer are Next.California is pulling the same BS on their citizens.Time to eliminate all these buttheads from office as well. Then all the MAIG nitwits starting with King Bloomy!
Good Going Colorado ,the rest of the country who actually BELIEVE in the Constitution are behind you1000%.
Watch the Liberal Media totally downplay this.Let’s recruit thosands to join the / NRA/GOA and 2nd Amendment Foundation!

  20. WHY ARE THE DEMOCRAT’S WANTING OUR GUN’S.BY EXPLOTING THESE MASS SHOOTING’S,LIKE EVERYONE IN AMERICA THAT HAS A GUN IS GOING TO GO ON A SHOOTING SPREE.YOU HAVE TO BE INSANE TO TAKE THE LIVES OF INNOCENT CHILDREN.,YOU HAVE TO BE EQALLY INSANE TO TAKE A HUMAN LIFE WITH OUT THE VICTIM BEING THE AGITATOR.GUN’S DON’T KILL.PEOPLE KILL.WE HAVE JUDGES,JURIES TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT A GUN WAS USED UNLAWFULLY.SADLY THERE IS TO MANY KILLING’S MADE WITH GUN’S JUSTIFIED OR NOT,BUT NOT AS MANY ARE KILLED BY GUN’S THAT ARE KILLED BY KNIFES.OR BY MEDICAL MALPRACTICE APPOX.PER YR.2,000 BY GUN’S,5,000 BY KNIFES,98,000 BY MEDICAL MAL.

  21. Is conservatism, liberty and the 2nd Amendment back in style? After watching Walker survive his and these two morons get the boot… I am going to say, under my breath and while knocking on wood, that they might be.

  22. I would hope that the recall was as much, if not more, due to his call for other legislatures to IGNORE THEIR CONSTITUENTS. (in addition to ignoring the Constitution).

  23. Why don’t we quit saying “pro-gun” and instead, say “pro-Constitution,” and call the grabbers what they are – not just “anti-gun,” but “Anti-Constitution” or “Anti-Freedom” or even “Anti-American?” We should be able to play the spin game as well as they do.

  24. I donated to the campaign as well. I’m a CA gun owner, but I consider myself more of an American than a Californian. Money well spent, I say. The recall is more refreshing than a dozen boxes of shiny ammo! I hope Giron goes down as well. Either way, expecting the liberal progressive spin machine is gonna have a tough time with this one.
