Developed in collaboration with Mean Arms™, CMMG’s 9 ARC Magazine (10 or 30-round capacity) makes it possible to shoot 9mm from an AR15 lower receiver when paired with CMMG’s proprietary 9mm Radial Delayed Blowback BANSHEE or RESOLUTE upper.
The 9 ARC Magazine is ideal for those who have a registered SBR or full-auto AR15 lower receiver and want to shoot 9mm. The process of converting an AR15 to 9mm is simple and quick. First, attach a CMMG 9mm Radial Delayed Blowback upper receiver to an existing AR15 lower. I have a set of Mean Arms ENDO9 inserts. They are rockin’ coolness. Absolutely flawless.
Those with my common pistol lower and dedicated 9mm upper are a hoot to shoot. All but zero recoil. Accurate and fun. Breaks down quick and fits in a small laptop backpack.
What could be better? Well…if Mean Arms would make a .45 version of their inserts…
Granted, 9mm is about half the price per rd. of 5.56mm but how much would you have to shoot to justify the cost of a new upper and rather expensive mags or converters? The price difference is only 13 cents a rd. So let’s do the math: The Banshee upper goes for about $700 and one mag is $45. So you’d have to burn through nearly 6,000 rds. of 9mm before you started to see a cost saving.
Bumpstock? You mean an adjustable stock with the stock stopper broke.
I know people that do this so they can shoot steel at close range. Not just about $$.
That said I reload 9mm for under $3/box with home cast powder coat bullets. I love my 9mm AR but this seems $$ when I could just use a blow back and use a magwell adapter. ASC mags aren’t that far off full price but I bought 6 when I saw em for $13 each.

Fortunate news, the CMMG version doesn’t include the ejector – problem solved!
At $26 per adapter I think you’d be better off getting a magwell block and going Colt or Glock financially speaking. Plus, you’ll have more “hi-caps” on hand for the next (D) administration.
I’d rather just have an AR that uses Glock mags to shoot 9mm or the old style Colt adapter and mags. Why bother with a magazine that shoots 9mm that’s the same size as the standard 5.56 magazines? Who cares if it costs a few bucks more to be able to use Glock or Colt style mags, you’d still be spending money on this CMMG setup.

A more cost effective plan is the Ruger PC Carbine, made for 9mm and .40S&W. Buy one of those and a pile of Ruger or Glock magazines for the same price as the upper. I already have at least a dozen Ruger mags to fit one.
Good at least up to 33 round Glock mags.
I’ve seen videos of 50 and 100 round drums for Glock, but those appear to jam in the Ruger PC Carbine. Just a guess, not enough support for all that weight causing the long neck of the drum to flex.
I’ve seen videos of drums working on rifles and pistols where the full riser (the “normal” height part of the assembly) is inside the gun.
But the Ruger PC Carbine has many videos showing perfect operation with up to 33 round magazines. Some I’ve seen were Pro-Mag. That’s surprising, and far less expensive than a specialized AR upper and special magazines for it.
As an owner of a transferable M16, I’m excited about the 9MM conversion mags. I won’t run a magwell adapter in my lower, but I will try these out. It’s good to have upper options (currently 22LR, 5.56, 7.62×39, and 300 BLK). Now I need MEAN Arms or CMMG to make a 45ACP conversion insert.

You can also convert a smooth bore shotgun into a rifle using caliber adapters. They even have them for the Judge and Governor. I have the 380 adapters for my Judge. And for $150 its less than buying a second firearm.

That’s unfortunate. The Endomag has an integral ejector made of plastic, and they quit working when it gets damaged

The closest to me, the indoor range doesn’t allow center-fire pistol caliber carbines. Outside bays yes, but not inside.

Indoor range nearby allows anything up to and including .50 BMG. As long as it isn’t steel or armor piercing.
