Micro/CQB RipBrace
The micro version of the RipBrace is the ideal option for pistol caliber carbines and any AR pistol in which minimizing overall length is a priority. It has five personal preset positions for a customized stopping point when extended. The MSRP is $199.95.
The full-sized version of the RipBrace is 1.25″ longer (when fully extended) than the compact version. It is the ideal option for larger caliber AR pistols and for shooters who prefer more length to acquire a comfortable shooting position. I like all these braces and thumbing noses at the ATF’s nonsense but what’s with them all costing so much? An adjustable buffer and stock combo is like $70. Fewer adjustments and a velcro band nobody uses makes it worth $100 more?
Was thinking the same thing. I believe e-file NFA turn around times are what, 2 weeks now? So for $200 and right now I am seeing Magpul collapsible stocks on primary arms or right around $50. So for $250 you get an SBR with the ability to have a collapsible stock, you can modify the stock if needed and not worry if a strap/sticker/etc could modify it illegally, and not have an uncomfortable stock that was designed to skirt around a law. Some of these braces are $250 if not more. I guess I can understand when the turn around time for e-file and mail in was like a year or more. But now it doesn’t make much sense to me.
I don’t have or plan to own an AR format pistol, but what is the velcro for…I get that some form of lashing has to be there but is the brace supposed to be velcroed to the arm somehow? I’ve never seen one used or modeled before.
Optics planet has the SBA3 for $105.00 right now. I have an SBA3 and I love it, but i’m just not going to spend $200 on one of these for my next pistol build.

The brace is split at the bottom. You’re supposed to let it wrap around your forearm,then tighten the strap down so you can shoot one-handed.
It be ATF compliant until it isnt.
For half the price Id buy an AR pistol and then the brace. But until then. No thanks. $200 buys me lots O lead.

I got mine, also a SBA3, two weeks ago from Primary Arms for $<90. No way in hell is that new feature worth over a hundred bucks.
Can't wait for them to go on sale again, I'll put the next one on my Glock with an Endo adapter.
