Brownells, always innovating and introducing new options for range fun to their customers nationwide, has just announced the latest addition to their product line: the BRN-134D semi-automatic minigun. If you’re going to order one — and why wouldn’t you? — we highly recommend adding a barrel of 7.62×51 ammunition to your shopping cart, too.

Here’s their press release . . .

Brownells Launches BRN-134D Semi-Auto Minigun

GRINNELL, Iowa (April 1, 2019) – Brownells is excited to announce a new addition to its ever-expanding clone firearm lineup – the BRN-134D semi-auto minigun. The BRN-134D is available now at Brownells.com for just $125,000.

The six-barreled, belt-fed beast is backwards-compatible with the Dillon Aero M-134D minigun and operates on the same electrically-driven motor and breech system.  Fed via disintegrating links and the included feed chute, the system includes a canister that houses 3,000 rounds of 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition.

“In recent years, Brownells has made a name for itself bringing high-quality clone firearms to the market,” said Paul Levy, Brownells Director of Product Management. “We saw a hole in the market for a civilian-legal minigun. The BRN-134D is the culmination of years of development and we’re excited to offer it beginning today.”

Also included is a mounting pedestal that allows the shooter maximum comfort when firing from a truck bed, front porch or helicopter. Shoulder firing the BRN-134D is not recommended.

The full package includes:

  • BRN-134 Minigun
  • Feeder & Delinker
  • Ammunition Feed Chute
  • Link Ejection Chute
  • Pedestal Mount
  • 3,000 Round Canister with motor
  • Six chamber flags

The BRN-134D minigun can be viewed and purchased at Brownells.com.

  1. April fools. Would be a fun item at what i’m sure would be a stupid price, but i don’t believe it for a second.

  2. Would be curious to see how they would actually make one of these a semi. That would be a feat in its self. That said I could use one for my Technical.

    • It’s motor driven, so making one semi auto would take a little fiddling with the circuit board. Mind you, the same fiddling would turn it back into a bullet hose. (Which is why this is a clear April Fool’s joke as the ATF would have a coronary.)

      • Would Brownells be held responsible for after-purchase modifications? Asking for a friend who just got done repairing his boat after it’s third accident.

      • “Mind you, the same fiddling would turn it back into a bullet hose.”

Bullet hose? More like a Penstock at Hoover dam. A 30 foot-wide steel pipe dropping 500 feet straight down to the turbines.

And a coronary isn’t exactly what the ATF would have, it would be a little closer to this :

      • From the comments, it is obvious that a LOT of readers missed today’s date.

I’m still surprised that no small to mid-size company has produced a serious modern gun along the lines of the Gatling or Hotchkiss patents. With modern manufacturing methods it would not be difficult to produce a completely legal hand cranked bullet hose that would easily sell for many times the actual cost to manufacture.

Of course, there are about a dozen states that would immediately enact laws to ban it – but that would just provide free publicity to increase sales everywhere else.

How about Hotchkiss in 7.62×39 taking AK magazines — or for the more frugal one in 9mm (of course, taking glock magazines)?

        • “From the comments, it is obvious that a LOT of readers missed today’s date.”

I know it’s April first today, but I’m being serious, General Electric should start making hand crank mini guns for us civilians. I’m sure they have looked into it already and determined there is no market for it, but still…

        • People make reproductions of gatling and gardener and other hand cranked manual machine guns. They’re all ludicrously expensive, but you can get em. There are also mounts that accept two 10/22s and have a gand crankes trigger. And there are cheap cranks that fin in most trigger guars, but they suck hardcore.

    • A gear/ratchet system with a solenoid to rotate the existing mechanism a single shot worth of rotation would probably make the most sense to function the way we customers would expect with no visible change.

  3. Very little utility especially for $25k (on the Brownells site). I guess if you have lots of money and just want a conversation piece it’d be okay. I don’t want a small flare firing Dragon launcher either.

    • I saw $125k. $25k is a little more reasonable. I’ve seen actual kits with mounts for $60k. SOT only, but still a cool toy if you have the business and the money to buy. And feed it. And maintain it.

      On second thought…

  4. You guys (and Brownell’s) got me! 😏 I forgot what day it was.

    Considering a regular one is around $325,000, $125K for a semi-auto isn’t bad.

  5. I think they’d get double digit orders from rental ranges that would immediately convert it to full auto.

  6. What really funny is when they start getting a lot of demand for one they’ll actually make and sell it for a limited run.

  7. After the bump stock Fiasco this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Really? Really?

How about I invent a machine that pulls the trigger for me over and over again. In fact much faster than I can pull the trigger.

Or how about if I put a fostech trigger on this machine I wonder how fast it will fire then???

Now maybe they will ban this is well???

I guess I need to buy one now before it’s outlawed.

    • You can get a slightly used Huey for like $60k… If you have that much money burning a hole in your pocket, why not?

      • Barnstormers.com? I don’t think those are airworthy. Have you spotted one that airworthy for that price somewhere? I can’t find an airworthy R-22 for that price!

        • It’s a lot cheaper & safer to buy an inoperative one, and make the rotor noise with your mouth. Same for the gun noise, lol.

  8. I’m afraid I wouldn’t even be able to afford the 3000 rounds of 7.62 ammo right now.

      • Yep. I’m a simple man, but before I die I’d like to be able to afford a 30 second burst with a mini-gun without worrying how I’m going to make my next mortgage payment. Not saying that’s how I’d spend it, but it would be nice to know that I could.

  9. The article says it cost $125,000.00 but when you click on the link the ad says $25,000.00. ATF probably choked on their morning coffee! Let’s see which Democrat publicly decries it.

  10. I know they didn’t recommend shoulder fireing it, but I have a friend who is really big and was wondering if he could put a bump stock on it.

    • My guess is Yes. Not recommend means it can be done. It’s not recommended for possums to cross a road, but as the chicken showed us, it can be done.

  11. I want it! as soon as I hit the power ball for enough to buy a helicopter to mount it on and the flight lessons.

  12. Here’s how to make it legal: two trigger pulls to make it start firing, then its full auto. Now we have no more than one round for a single function of the trigger; many rounds for two functions. Problem solved. You can thank ne later. Not sure if a mini gun can be considered open bolt…

  13. Ha ha ha. I saw this and got excited. Then i realized it was the first of April. Well played TTAG, well played.

  14. To get enough wampum for that minigun I’ll have to go stand on a street corner with a sign saying “Will fly helicopter for food.”

  15. “Brownells Now Offering Semi-Auto Minigun”

WTF god is a minigun in semi-auto…??? And for $125,000 there are plenty of full auto weapons to be had, in multiples…

  16. Might be an interesting plaything for those with sufficiently deep pockets. Problem is or would be, as I see it, is the lack of 300 PLUS YARD RANGES, 600 plus yards would be better, much better.

  17. You can buy an exact replica of the original brass Gatling gun for a bit less than $50,000. It’s far more fun, a lot prettier and fires a far more dramatic cartridge (.45-70). And you don’t have to buy a battery or plug it into an AC outlet.

  18. You just watch. Some anti-gun types are going to sent this to AOC and the brainless twits in congress and their going to totally freak out!

  19. I can’t see laying out that kind of money unless it’s capable of shooting in “full semi-automatic mode” like retired Lieutenant General Mark Hertling’s AR-15.

  20. Hope you have lot of kids to load the belt or youll never have time to shoot it . i just put in order for one need people to loan belt so i can shoot it have good day suckers
