Spree killing at Navy Yard, DC (courtesy wsj.com)

I’m sitting here at Dulles airport waiting for my ride out to the shooting competition this weekend, and the local news stations are reporting that the police have identified the shooter. The guy was apparently a Texas resident, had a criminal history, and a concealed carry permit. The talking heads on the radio haven’t clarified whether the permit was valid and which state it was from, but the criminal history leads me to believe that if it was valid it wasn’t issued in Texas. In short, this just moved from a tragic attack to a complete disaster.

What we’re seeing take place is close to a “worst case scenario” for gun owners. It hits all the stereotypical highlights that gun control advocates love to throw around — crazy rednecks (Texan) who carry guns (CHL) hate the government (attack on Navy facility in DC) and are terrorists. It’s all the fuel that was needed to re-kindle the “debate” over gun ownership, and as far as the recall in Colorado helped move the scales to the side of gun rights this has the potential to bring us right back to the brink.

This will not end well.

      • Hear hear.

Nick, kindly stand on the side of reason, rather than reaction.

Nothing in life ends well, including life, which is all the more reason that adults need to saddle up and set the proper tone of stoic restraint when dealing with outrageous events.

Let’s stand away from the gungrabby stance of maundering hysterically every time somebody reads something sensational on the corporate media, hey? I hate it when TTAG writers descend into Alex Jones-flavored emotion. Sounds more like people working undercover for the PR agencies that serve the grabbers.

    • Yeah. Can be flipped around the other way, too. It’s proof that these sorts of laws don’t stop these sorts of things. This guy, with a criminal history, couldn’t pass a background check and shouldn’t be able to get a CHL, maybe would be a totally prohibited party from owning guns in the first place, crossed into D.C. where his gun(s) were banned, likely with magazines that were banned, then went onto a military installation where the guns were banned, and STILL did this. Aside from, obviously, murder being illegal, he probably thwarted myriad “gun control” laws. It’s PROOF that they don’t do jack sh*t to prevent crime. This dude left a litany of these “safety” laws defied in his wake. All they did was ensure that nobody law-abiding was able to try to stop him! An hour later, the cops show up. Great.

That is if ANY of what we’re hearing at this point is even remotely accurate in the first place!

        • I heard the same 7 minute response time reported. That’s pretty fast.

However, there is a vast difference between how fast you get there and when you effectively stop the slaughter. How long a time delay was involved before effective action?
Even 7 minutes is enough time for a lot of people to be killed. What response time was there from on-site armed security? It should have been less than 7 minutes.

        • Yes, I guess I should have said that they were still considering it an “active shooter” situation for an hour. How long it took for police to get there is one thing, and how long it took to find the shooter and stop him is another, really.

BTW — the response time of the police might be 7 minutes, but the response time if people there could have been armed would have been more like 1,300 FPS.

          http://www.txtraders.com/images/response1561_n.jpg 😉

      • “..It’s PROOF that they don’t do jack sh*t to prevent crime. ”

That is part of the misunderstanding in so many of the gun grabbers…. Laws do not prevent crime. Laws establish what is criminal and then define in some manner a punishment for violating them. The threat of punishment is the deterrent/prevention. Unless or until you violate the law it really doesn’t apply to you.

Why are laws important or why do we have them? Because we all need to understand what is allowed (Legal) and what is disallowed (Illegal). We have laws so that we all know that shooting people is bad. Having two laws does not make it more bad, having no law means everything is legal. No laws is anarchy, two laws trying to make it more bad is tyranny.

        • This. THIS.

It is the only thing that ever needs to be said on the topic. And I thank you for saying it.

Though it will be drowned out.

  1. If he was Texan, and a CHL holder, he would have gone after the Capitol and White House. NOT the Navy Yard.

Now is this a “Confirmed” ID? Because they’ve already retracted an ID earlier. The shooter was using some other guys ID to gain access.

  2. I smell false flag….. Dems are failing miserably in their gun-control efforts. What better to get back on track than a legal gun owning average American going on a killing spree? There is no such thing as coincidence and this just too dam conveniently gives gun grabbers everything they want.

  3. There Nick goes again like a manic-depressive going from elation to despair. Let’s get in front of this one and get the story out that “if you can’t keep bad guys with guns out of the Washington Navy Yard you can’t keep bad guys from getting guns from Mexican drug gangs and the Russian mob. Gun control is futile exercise.” The shooter was a total outsider not a disgruntle employee.

Tell you one thing the base commander is going to be getting his walking papers. Same for the MAA detachment commander and the civilian head of security. You run your ship aground you get fired simple as that. (OK Chester Nimitz didn’t but you get the idea.)

  4. Every story I’ve read so far in the mainstream media has at least one factual error pointed out by someone in the comments section. Every single one. It makes me doubt any of it’s right. Even if you get the same piece of the story from three different outlets, it’s as likely as not that they’re just parroting each other.

I basically don’t want to hear anything else about this until this time tomorrow, because maybe by then most of the facts will be separated from the opinion and wild ass guessing.

The signal to noise ratio is very, very low at the moment.

    • This x 1,000,000.

C’mon, how many chaotic breaking news stories do we have to see before we learn that initial reports are NEVER correct.

    • DUDE! It’s the next iteration of “The Manchurian Candidate”! I just make a new aluminum foil hat this afternoon and as soon as I put it on I got the message…loud and clear!

  5. Just like the shooter at Sandy Hook was Ryan Lanza and his mom was a kindergarden teacher there, right?

Just because the media rushes a report out doesn’t mean that it will end up being accurate. The news doesn’t vet information they receive they get it and rush it on air so they can be the first place with an exclusive on it.

Lets all just wait and see how this pans out.

    • As I pointed out on a post yesterday, apart from their inherent liberal bias, the MSM is ONLY interested in ratings and whackos with guns shooting people get ratings. They will fall all over each other to get out anything they can dream up to sensationalize this story while it’s hot and get all the mileage/ratings they can out of it. Then in two days or so when the public doesn’t care anymore the MSM pukes will forget to put out any apologies for the factual errors or outrageous opinions they originally reported.

  6. Dude was born in Brooklyn. He was stationed in Fort Worth after graduating boot camp in 2007. He worked in DC. No matter how much the media would love it to be true, he ain’t a Texan.

    • An early report said one of the shooters shot an armed guard while getting inside the yard. I guess you’re willing to be one of those guys? 😉

I can see arguments on both sides of the issue; in the end, neither is wrong or right of its own accord. Circumstances will dictate that.

  7. A Ft Worth mugshot (now crashed or removed) has him as a bald, black male with a charge of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from three years ago. I don’t think this is the Great White Defendant they’re looking for.

  8. There are some reports suggesting that the shooter picked up a handgun and AR after shooting the Navy personal that were carrying them, shooter used a shotgun to start.

    • Source? If you’re going to spread stories, provide a source. It helps keep the stupidity to a minimum, and has the potential to increase the signal to noise ratio.

      • On Yahoo Hews there was a report from an eyewitness in the building who saw a man shooting a shotgun down into the crowd entering the cafeteria. FWIW.

“Rick Mason, a program management specialist, told Yahoo News he was on the fourth floor when he saw someone with a shotgun aiming down into the atrium. The gunman, Mason said, was targeting people who walked into the cafeteria.”

      • Sorry Matt, NBC Washington is reporting that the shooter may have shot a guard at the yard and taken his pistol and AR and then used these weapons.

      • Matt, he said “reports suggesting”. I heard the same thing on the radio. He wasn’t reporting it as fact; fact is, we have very few facts yet. Easy.

  9. Which of his relatives just got the insanely expensive cancer treatment they needed out of the blue by a generous anonymous third party?

      • You should look to taking your own advice, if your reactions to jokes on the internet are so jarringly out of proportion. Besides, the supposition of the possibility of ulterior motives in such circumstances is not necessarily a sign of a lost grip on anything. I mean, I didn’t miss the bowl earlier, and I managed to open my door without slamming my face into it, even got food all the way from the plate to my face a few minutes ago! I would venture to state my grip is just fine, thank you very much, worry about your own.

    • Or it could simply be the logical result of the circumstances. You have a mix of easy to get firearms plus poor a mental health screening process. The result of that is occasionally going to be something like what happened here. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not suggesting changing anything – rather I’m saying that we have to accept what will periodically happen based upon the circumstances in place and get over it.

When you get behind the wheel on a weekend night, your chances of being killed by some asshat who has had too much to drink go up significantly. If we closed all bars and made drunk driving a one and your’re all done driving for a couple of years offense, we could dramatically reduce the number of drunk driving fatalities. Fact is that we would not want to live in a world with that level of restriction, so despite the risk, we leave things as they are.

We need to get to the same place with guns. If we don’t want to live in a world with heavy government gun restrictions, then we need to understand that things like the Navy Yard and Newton are going to happen from time to time. We can mitigate the damage by eliminating gun free zones, but from time to time people are going to die. Simple as that.

      • Precisely Jim, it’s the consequence (or price) of freedom. Ultimate control might be safer, at least day to day until the tyrants come for you, but safety is worthless if one can’t enjoy freedom.

On the other hand I’d argue that the level of control necessary to prevent all murder isn’t attainable. If you can’t prevent murder within the narrow confines a prison it surely can’t be done in something the size of a nation, regardless of the level of regulation.

If stopping mass murder or the murder of innocents is the goal (also unattainable) it would be better served by allowing more people to go armed in more places.

Noting that these attacks virtually never occur in areas where armed resistance is likely to be met I suppose it’s possible to prevent at least some instances of mass murder by removing all restrictions as to where arms can be carried.

Further (though it’s self evident) laws prohibiting the bearing of arms affect only the law abiding. Were it not so tragic, the concept that a person intent on mass murder would be dissuaded from doing so by a law prohibiting them from carrying arms would be comical. Never minding that most of these mass murders don’t intend to survive to face trial, what deterrent could be expected from a minor charge for unlawfully possessing or carrying arms when one is undeterred by what will certainly be either the death penalty or life without possibility of parole?

It’s been said that insanity is defined by doing the same thing repetitively while expecting different outcomes. If one accepts this definition then the anti-gun, gun free zone lobby are utterly mad.

      • Yup.

I expect there will be some spin trying to tie it to the sequester. Since they are saying the shooter was a DoD contractor. Whatever his motivation, he alone is responsible for his actions.

  10. As mentioned above and elsewhere, the guy is African/American…..which will make it a dicey issue with the UberLibs. I’m not worried yet…

  11. Yep I agree with other. Best to wait at least 12 hours before drawing any conclusions. Even if he was a concealed carry person with a AR he had to gain entrance with a rifle. Means that security at this DOD Navy installation had problems. So far we hear he is black from Ft. Worth and his name is Alexis. Even it is the worst case white guy with concealed permit and AR. It still doesn’t make the case from Gun control. Remember it happened in the gun control capital of the U.S. DC

  12. Ok, how long before the present occupier in the WH goes on national tv and tells all…

If I had a son, he would look just like Aaron Alexis?

    (crickets chirping…)

  13. The timing is too perfect an attack made by a white guy from a gun friendly area in an anti gun area on a goverment installation close to the capital just after the pro gun crowd wins a national victory and just before more gun control bills come to a vote in many states and in congress and senate call me crazy but this don’t feel like a coinkydink.

    • And, as I pointed out earlier, less than 12 hours after Obama talked about the need for new gun control legislation in a speech… and about 3 miles from where he gave it.

  14. Criminal record+carry permit=mutually exclusive.

Too much noise, do we really need to thrash as much as the press?

    Ignoring further pending official statement.

  15. The CHL/CCW is a nonissue. This license would NOT allow him to bring a firearm onto the base facility. Such a license does NOT allow one to concealed carry a long arm, which in any event is not considered a concealable weapon. All it means is that the holder has passed the same background check necessary to purchase a firearm, and may be taken a shooting/ allowable use of force class. Therefore it was NOT a causational component of the shooting.

Seems to me that this was a guy with a grudge, whether it was personal or religious/domestic terror remains to be seen.

  16. When did military facilities become gun free zones ? How many lives would have been saved today and at Fort Hood if enlisted qualified personal had access to firearms ?

    • If this is true it mirrors not only what I’ve said many times over but also the entire concept behind the original Liberator pistol. Use whatever is available to avail ones self of the arms of another, usually a sentry or guard. If he indeed did kill a guard for the express purpose of attaining his arms then one can only assume this incident would have proceeded even if the perpetrator was originally armed only with a common hammer.

      • Second instance of that strategy — the Boston bombers used the same MO in killing the University policeman to get his pistol.

  17. cue “i am going to wait about a week until the correct info is known” before I form an opinion. One news outlet reports as fact another news outlets speculation. He had a shotgun AR15 m4 grenade launcher Glock-brand-glock

  18. Yeah, the truth will come out about a year after Bengazi, but if it’s more than one guy it aint work place violence. 5 days after 9-11, The FT Hood Shooter just sentenced to death, w/Obama trash talking the Syrian/Iranian/Russian Axis, you best believe they have resources to pull this off plus an Obama FF is not beyond possibility

  19. “Conspiracy theory is the sophistication of the ignorant.”

Jesus Christ, take off the tinfoil hats. “The X-Files” was not a documentary.

    • Hear, hear.

What else can we cram into this? Roswell really happened…. 9/11 was staged…. Boston was fake…. Sandy Hook was faked… The CIA killed Kennedy… We used chemical weapons in Laos… Iraq never had chemical weapons…. Elvis is still alive… Kennedy is still alive… The moon landing was fake… The NSA is spying on everyone; okay that one is true.

    • What PPL are afraid to admit is that All of history’s greatest acts of malfeasance have been the results of conspiracies the greatest percentage by people who described themselves as ‘Politicians’ or ‘Leaders’ of one sort or another. Only rarely do the perpetrators of the nefarious plots personally pay for their premeditated crimes instead it’s usually the guiltless residents of the nations and groups they rule.
Conspiracy is not a dirty word but it has been made so by those who benefited from a low-information electorate.
      FT Hood was a Conspiracy
Fast And Furious was a Conspiracy
The Obama Regime’s suppression of Conservative Voters was a Conspiracy
The Arab Spring, Arming Al Queda in Syria and Benghazi were all Conspiracies
The Boston Bombing was a Conspiracy
But the Navy Yard, with all of it’s high tech security and Two Suspects fails to reach that legal definition?
Please, go back and cast another vote for Obama for you have quaffed the Kool-Aide

      • Please, tell us old wise one, what word we should be using? How about instead of conspiracy theories we call them fairy tales? Tinfoil fairy tales? Duck Tales? I want to believe, but I need proof. Some Oz like figure hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet does not inspire confidence.

    • The 60 million or so victims of the Reichstag fire would disagree with you.

However, claiming that this is absolutely, certainly not a false flag operation is just as stupid as claiming it certainly is. Leave the baseless lemming speak to the gun-grabbers.

  20. OK, I’m going to issue a slap-down.

    Shut up. Stop it.

Don’t repeat the “facts” being promulgated in these early stories. Almost all “facts” that come out in in the mass media within the first 24 hours are false, incorrect, stupidly wrong, driven by agenda, etc.

Stop trusting the mainstream media. They’re attention whores, all climbing over each other trying to “get the scoop.” They don’t care about accuracy, they care about “being first” and “exclusive!”

    • DG, it’s too bad we’re on opposite sides of the country. I’m thinking you, me, and a bottle, sitting out in the porch and pretending this didn’t happen for a day or two, because by then maybe the facts will shake out.

    • While “Main Stream Media” has become part of the vernacular, I have been trying to promote the alternative, and more aptly descriptive, BSM – Brown Stream Media, which generally gives a better indication of what they are reporting.

  21. I doubt that anything comes of this. Black shooter (probably looks like the son that Obama never had). No kids died. Tragic yes, but nothing really to start the drumbeat of gun control up on – it was on a secure (presumably) military base: hard to get much traction about increased background checks, yada yada, when the guy sneaks a gun onto a DOD site.

“This will not end well.” Nope – this will be yesterday’s news by tomorrow.

  22. It was an alien on the grassy knoll working a false flag operation for the Illuminati to distract from the Freemason’s chemtrail operations. IT’S ALL ON THE BACK OF THE DOLLAR BILL, PEOPLE!!!!!!!

(Seriously, some of you guys are doing an awesome job making us look like lunatics. Nice work.)

      • 12:14 p.m. — Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier says one alleged shooter is deceased, but two other potential shooters are still at large. Lanier says one of the potential shooters still at large is a white male in a tan military uniform, last seen around 8:35 a.m. in possession of a handgun. The other potential shooter still at large is a black male approximately 50 years old, last seen wearing olive drab clothing — a possible military uniform — and in possession of a long gun.

        • Without the stress of an actual shooting going on people routinely call in man with a gun calls for umbrellas, canes etc. Throw in the chaos of an active shooter and you’ll get all sorts of wild, unsubstantiated reports that just don’t match reality.

  23. I cant take a bottle of water with me through airport security but this guy gets through Navy security in DC with a long gun. OK

  24. Gonna go with wait several days. Everything the media has put out will be proven wrong.

Oh, and you tinfoil fashion enthusiasts need to calm the shit down. It’s embarrassing. Don’t hide from facts, and don’t take the first blast of bullshit from the media as fact. Settle down, have a drink, wait a few days and find out the real deal.

  25. Probably already been said, but at least he was black, this will make it a bit harder to demonize the OFG gun owners, and no offense to the black TTAG readers out there, the more diversity we have in our community, the harder it will be for the liberals to pigeonhole us. This guy may have had a CCW but he wasn’t some white supremacist with the Stars and Bars flying from his lifted 78 chevy.

  26. I wonder if someone is going to get on the bloody shirt waving pulpit of the MSM and state ” he could of been my son..”
    Wishful thinking I guess

  27. Ugh, I just listened to a newscaster describe the Navy Yard shooter as a decorated Navy Veteran, and then proceeded to read off his awards as a “National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism medal.” This pretty much means that he was alive and breathing in the military (which is all you have to do to get the NDSM and GWOT). As soon as you graduate Basic training or ROTC you get both awards. That is not the definition of a highly decorated veteran.

    • It is to a bunch of non hackers that don’t know their left from their right. I came thru my whole hitch with nothing but the NDSM. Almost got a good conduct medal but I just couldn’t quite pull it off.

  28. Wrong, wrong, wrong! You can have a criminal history and still get a permit. Misdemeanors don’t prevent you from having one unless its domestic violence or drug related. Secondly, even if it was (or a felony), there is a restoration process.

    Disappointed….

    • “Misdemeanors don’t prevent you from having one unless its domestic violence or drug related.”

Or if you could’ve been imprisoned for more than 1 year. Some jurisdictions (e.g. Colorado) have misdemeanors that can get you 18 months, and which have nothing to do with DV or drugs.

To get a Texas concealed handgun license, you have to be qualified under federal law to purchase a handgun (GC §411.172. (a)(9)). Form 4473 asks if you’ve been convicted of a crime for which you could’ve been imprisoned for more than a year.

  29. Do you really expect to have the facts about the Navy Yard shooting now? Are you kidding me? I’m still waiting for the police report on Newtown, and that was nine months ago.

  30. Breaking news!!!!

All media reports were incorrect. The gunman is not Aaron Alexis from Texas. Due to a misunderstanding from a dropped phone call between FBI agents the gunmans name and info was bungled up. The real gun man is Porn Star Alexis Texas.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexis_Texas

Suspect should be considered ample and voluptuous. Any attempts to apprehend her should be undertaken with extreme “protection”

  31. DC has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation (which is why it’s a crime free paradise). He may have had a concealed carry permit from another jurisdiction, but I doubt he had a permit to own, much less carry, a gun in DC. He broke the law the moment he crossed into DC. So much for laws stopping a madman….

    • Not a good path of reasoning to take in this fight. Gun-grabbers will just work harder to punish free states, claiming people go there to buy guns then go to their wonderful utopias to kill kittens and children.

  32. Another gun free zone shooting! Also Henry Winkler,”the Fonz”,has come out with the antigun statements, but he doesn’t realize that DC has strict antigun laws, the Naval Shipyard is a gun free zone, and quite possibly there is no verification on ID cards for entrance to the base. But the antigun politicians, and the antigun organizations will be out in force, along with the MSM.Be prepared and ready.Keep your powder dry.

  33. Interesting side note… Pictures on CNN show the Police and Federal Agents all Kitted Up and ready for war with armor toys and all. In complete chaos. Then a Picture of Marine Security Forces. No body armor, no helmets, no “super trooper kit”. Just Marines with guns and ready postured, good muzzle and trigger discipline, looking more dignified, professional and in control. I could be way off the mark, but I think Police and Federal Agents are not getting more militarized, they are getting more “War” like. Most Service Members know the difference at “home”, I’m not sure the our “other” protectors. Despite all the toys and security stuff, 95% percent of which never serves any real purpose during these events but looks good. It all come down to a good man (or woman) with a gun.

  34. Not much of a surprise. I think that in the coming days it will be discovered that ‘security’ was lax. Being a contractor he could have had a big-ass toolbox for all I know and simply disassembled the shotgun and scattered the parts amongst the tools; then reassembled it once on the inside and, as posited elsewhere here, used it to incapacitate one of the security forces and taken that person’s weapons.

As for the media, they’re quite beyond redemption. Being as they have no concept of personal responsibility, it naturally follows that they blame inanimate objects.

And while I’m at it…ever notice that no one ever shoots up a MSM outlet anywhere? Ever? Now why is that?

    Tom

      • Interesting how “contractor” was assumed to be “construction/trade contractor”, isn’t it?

Frankly, I’m surprised that nobody has assumed contractor == “private security contractor”.

    • Because mass media glorifies criminals, tyrants, and leftists, who are the only people who would commit a travesty like a mass shooting. The scum of the earth have no reason to shoot up their allies.

  35. Just when I was thinking there wasn’t going to be a mass shooting… Doesn’t it seem like this is strange to anyone? The Dems want to continue gun control debate in the fall then this happens?

  36. @Troutbum5 i know that know before when i typed it the reports i saw said white and it don’t help that the mobile site is painfully slow on my phones browser oh and another note for those throwin me in the tinfoil hat brigade i prefer to use old xrau vests tyvm but you must admit at first glance it does keep the gun control debate alive and give anties more bodies to dance on I’m just saying they stand to gain a lot by somehow showing mass murders and shootings as an epidemic

    • Which they are not. Good point.

The presstitute media has been able to convince the general, self-absorbed public that gun crimes are way up, when in fact they’re way DOWN. How is that possible?

      Ask yourself that question.

  37. How do you know these things. I haven’t seen CNN, NYT, WSJ, or any of the major news outlets say anything interesting about this man yet

  38. A criminal with a CCW is not a cause for gun control, it’s a lapse in the system. You know what else is a lapse in the system? The Benghazi attack. The Sept. 11 attacks.

Here’s a lapse in the system that could’ve prevented the attack: If DC allowed a good guy to have the same permit as the bad guy, maybe less people would’ve died.

  39. You know I’m gonna play really crazy conspiracy theorist just a lil longer here and see what hits the ventilator lets just assume for a moment that this shooter like the others is later found to be mentally unstable lets also say that they keep hard and heavy on gun control to distract us all from defunding Obamacare until such a time as its too late to do anything about it now we’re stuck with it and the dems won by losing on gun control

  40. I encourage everyone to read the depiction of the surveillence footage of the attack @ nbcwashington.com (the dc nbc affilliate). If true, this could amount to nothing (basically says he looted the handgun & rifle from security/police)

  41. The MSM, including Fox News, is just feasting on this story like Hyenas who have stolen a Lion’s kill…the spectacle they create must exceed their own expectations for them to be satisfied. “Conspiracy” theories are running wilder than Rabbits who ingested VIAGRA…past experience has taught that all this will end-up being far different and far more mundane than these imaginations on steroids are projecting at present.
So, despite making a couple of comments in jest above, I am content to wait for the real, verified facts to come out…oh, wait, I may not live that long…none of us may, for that matter…so it goes in Obamatopia.
    //aluminum foil hat

    • Unless they intend to expand the “enemies of Amurca” terrorist list even further. It’s a pretty broad tarring by Homeland Security already; according to them, if your: own maps; own guns; ask for directions; wear blue jeans; take pictures of the Capitol Building, or anything else, you’re to be considered a potential terrorist.

Even congressmen have gotten on the no-fly list. EVERYONE is to be regarded with suspicion in the New Homeland.

  42. Starting to look like this guy was more gang-banger than “gun nut”. He had a dust up with some construction workers in Seattle and pulled his gat on them. Seattle DA dropped the ball and he was never prosecuted. And some discipline problems in the navy. And he’s from Brooklyn, not Texas. But oops, I’m profiling again.

  43. Those of you waiting for the “facts” will be waiting a long time. We’ll never get facts, just like we’ll never have facts about Zimmerman or Benghazi. We’ll have what the media and government decide will be the facts.

Also, funny how no one is remembering Biden infamously and confidently stating several months ago how there will be a gun control push in the fall. I remember telling my significant other: watch this, ten bucks says there will be a mass shooting in early fall and an AR-15 will be involved.

I hate being right all the time.

Ah well, at least I have all my evil guns already bought. Time to stock up on ammo for the imminent drought and panic buy.

  44. Doesn’t matter where he’s from or who he is, the media will turn him into the love child of Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz before this is all over.

  45. OK, don’t want to say “told you so,” but I did warn that most all the “facts” promulgated by the Brown Stream Media (hat tip Cliff, above) would turn out to be wrong.

Let’s start with the big nut of this morning: The shooter had no AR-15. He entered with one shotgun, and obtained two handguns in the chaos.

Second big nut of the morning: CNN must be allowing that British ponce Morgan to write their headlines. They were reporting that the gunman (I won’t use his name) used an “AR-15 shotgun.”

I’m going to call RSR today and ask where I can get one of them. Sounds like something a FFL paying attention to fashion trends might want to keep in stock, eh?
