You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. In the same vein, sometimes you have to break a few laws make a political point. Fortunately for California Senator Diane Feinstein, the doyenne of civilian disarmament, you don’t have to worry about breaking laws – even if they’re felonies – when you’re a member of the ruling class. If you want to put on a dog and pony show for the press – parading the scariest of black guns before the cameras in a never-ending campaign to abrogate Americans’ natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms – all you need to do in D.C. is enlist the help of the Chief of Police. As Emily Miller reports at washingtontimes.com . . .

A week after a lobbyist emailed D.C. top cop Cathy Lanier asking for, “examples of assault weapons used in the worst incidents over the past few years,” DiFi’s press flack hit up the head of the D.C. Metro’s “Crime Scene Investigation Division, Keith Williams, for 10 specific firearm models used in high-profile mass shootings, including a Bushmaster XM-15, Tec-9 handgun, Smith & Wesson M&P15 and a Glock 19 with a ‘high-capacity magazine.'”

Since Cmdr. Williams did not have all the firearms the senator sought, (lobbyist Chuck) DeWitt asked Philadelphia police to provide the missing ones, which meant bringing “the P15 and the Glock extended magazine” to Washington.

All of these firearms are illegal in the city — even on federal property — owing to the District’s law banning rifles with a detachable magazine and such features as a pistol grip or folding stock and all firearms with a magazines capacity of more than 10 rounds.

And don’t think they didn’t know they were breaking the law, either. Feinstein’s spox, Tom Mentzer was very much aware:

Cmdr. Williams emailed Mr. Mentzer to put a “bug” in his ear that the police would “prefer that no mention of the fact that the weapons came from D.C. or were recovered by MPDC in the official language or speeches.” Mr. Mentzer replied, “By not mentioning where the weapons came from, we open ourselves up to the same charge against David Gregory.

Wouldn’t want that, would we? Wait, why would that have given him pause? Gregory, the NBC Meet the Press host who waived a D.C.-illegal 30-round magazine in Wayne LaPierre’s face, wasn’t prosecuted. Why would a sitting United States senator face a worse fate? Hell, she even got plenty help getting the guns onto Capitol Hill and into the Senate for her post-Newtown bloody shirt waving event.

The office of Senate Sergeant at Arms Terrance W. Gainer coordinated bringing the illegal weapons onto Capitol Hill for Mrs. Feinstein’s dramatic Jan. 24 news conference introducing her new “assault weapons” ban.

Funny thing, though. The same kind of access was later denied Senators Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham when they wanted to bring rifles to a judiciary committee hearing to demonstrate how arbitrary DiFi’s gun grab was. Probably just an unfortunate bureaucratic snafu.

Despite Chief Lanier’s best efforts, though, intrepid reporter Miller, through a Freedom of Information Act request, uncovered the uncomfortable provenance of the illegal firearms. Not to mention the help the Senior California Senator got in breaking the law from the District’s chief law enforcement officer, enabling DiFi’s ostentatious gun display for the unveiling of her doomed assault weapons ban.

The police stonewalling and cover-up are so that the public doesn’t find out that Chief Lanier enforces laws differently in the District, depending on whether you are a powerful liberal who opposes Second Amendment rights, like Mr. Gregory and Mrs. Feinstein, or an average American.

“Equal justice under law” is engraved on the frieze of the Supreme Court building in D.C. There probably wasn’t room up there to include the footnote excepting members of the ruling class and their friendly enablers in the media.

    • BTW – someone should make a referral to the Senate Ethics Committee. True, the Dems run the show, but having to deal with the inevitabel 6 month investigation will slow that hag Di-Fi down

      • Senate Ethics Committee? That’s an oxymoron. Especially after the embarrassing (for America) ethical fail by the perpetual member from Harlem. Better to put your complaint on a piece of paper in a bottle and throw it in the Potomac.

        Little known factoid:
Sitting members of Congress are immune from prosecution while Congress is in session.
Because of deadbeats in Congress just after the Civil War being scared they would wind up in Debtors’ Prison during a Congressional session due to unpaid bills.

        • just a heads up – the good member from Harlem is in the HOUSE. Last I checked . . . the SENATE is different.

    • I think of Ms. Miller as a very attractive and intelligent pit bull terrier. Any member of the press willing to chase down the origin of these “show” guns is definitely doing old school journalism. Two thumbs up!

  1. Look at her. With the right robe she could be a stand-in for the Emperor from Star Wars…

    -or-

With the right boots she could be marching into Poland…

    Same difference either way.

    • Sen Cruz: In the name of the Senate you’re under arrest, Senator.
Sen Feinstein: Are you threatening me, Senior Cruz?
Sen Cruz: The senate will decide your fate.
Sen Feinstein: [now speaking as Darth Ickious] I AM the senate!
      Sen Cruz: Not yet.
[Darth Ickious rises slowly, assault weapon ban snaps to her hand from her sleeve]
      Sen Feinstein: It’s treason, then…
[flourishes her AWB and leaps over the podium to attack]

      • LOL Darth Frankenfeinstein

“I’m afraid the assault weapons ban will be quite operational when your friends arrive…”

  2. Damn. Arms trafficking, conspiracy to commit, I’m sure they will be locked up and the key thrown away…right?

In other news, airborne porcine mammals were spotted in Cincinnati.

  3. I seem to remember a similar event when an activist brought a shotgun into the capitol, but rather than getting a pass like Gregory, was subjected to arrest and search of his home and thrown in jail without bail, the judge at the hearing stating that he found the defendant to be a seriously dangerous person. I don’t imagine that Eric would be interested in this obvious double standard as a violation of civil rights? Nah.

    • What should happen is that in his trial, his lawyer should subpoena the D.C. Chief of Police, put her ass on the stand and start asking questions about selective enforcement. Seems to me either the judge has to kick Kokesh free or else try some of DiFi’s staffers.

      • Now THAT’S an idea. Good old 60s-style social justice. And see if they can get the jury to nullify the DC antigun laws too. Why not?

  4. DiFi is not the first to pull this crap. Twenty years ago, “Plugs” Biden waved a Tec-9 at a Senate hearing, while promoting the notoriously useless Brady Bill. That was before his weapon of choice was a shotgun.

  5. What amazing times we live in. This is living example that Orwell’s Animal Farm is still relevant! The quote “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” applies even more so to Feinstein than it ever has. I wonder if she even understands what she is doing is wrong.

    • She does understand and that’s what makes her so evil. Making her an animal would be to nice for the old decrepit hag. Recall the bitch! She’s the main reason for my user name CA Gun Laws Suck.

  6. Why oh why couldn’t there have been an accidental discharge of one of those weapons…

Maybe because guns aren’t animate objects that have a will of their own? Let’s ban trigger fingers!

    • Actually, if she wanted to prove her points, Feinstein should have had several 30 round mags, and discharged them at the journalist during the press conference. What should have shown everyone just how dangerous they can be.

    • I wonder if Feinstein is still carrying her 357 Magnum in her purse while she is in Washington? If so, why is she excempt????????? Blody hippocrite!

  7. The world is full of so many scary things (besides difi’s face)! Rifles, and bullets, and knives, oh my! Come to think of it, put a black witches hat on top, and a broom underneath……… too obvious. Nevermind.

  8. The new language of the ruling class is Double Speak, promise one thing and do the exact opposite…waiting for Obummer to say “but I will respect you in the morning”.

Along with this new language is the Double Standard which translates into “I can do whatever I want, but you can’t, and I may send you to jail”

    • What is new about Double Speak? It has been the language of the ruling elite since time immemorial. Even Heinlein mad a great dig about it in the opening chapters of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Something about how the lovely words of the politician’s assurances to the Moonies of fair treatment had a substantive content of zero.

  9. Yeah! Go Washington Times! Publish an expose that no one will read except friendly conservatives and will be soundly ignored by non-Drudge news aggregators! This will show ’em!

(To be fair, Drudge is required reading for all journalists now. I’m sure many of them will be shocked and outraged at Feinstein’s contempt for the law.)

  10. The irony is that they made this illegal when it would have been totally legal for the Senators to bring the guns in themselves. The Constitution protects members of congress from arrest for misdemeanor crimes when at or going to or from a congressional session. A first offense of the DC gun laws–with certain exceptions–is a misdemeanor. So, while the Senators could invoke immunity to bring those items in themselves, they instead enlist the help of persons without immunity protection to do it for them. That’s the kind of pure genius our politicians are known for.

    • The Senate Rules ban weapons from the chambers, and more particularly, from the cloak room (after one too many brawls and/or duels).

  11. Member of the nomenklatura can bend the rules if it is for the good of the people. Much ado about nothing. Go home comrades, nothing to see here.

  12. I would have to check the circumstances but she may have been covered by the “Speech and Debate” clause of Article I.

      • Fairness isn’t the question. We are discussing whether she broke the law or not. There is more to the Constitution than the Second Amendment.

  13. Trust no politician or law enforcement office.
In other words be on guard at all times as you can really only trust yourself
    when things go South.

    • Things are south. Unless you’re having sex with, related to (and on good terms), or really REALLY good friends, then be very very mindful of what you say to a law enforcement personnel as you could literally be playing a real life version of the game hangman.

  14. A more effective display would be ten criminals hanging behind her since the guns needed help committing the crimes. But that would offend the Core Voting Block.

  15. I have not ever, nor will I ever, vote for this evil person. If I die, I will take measures to ensure that neither my corpse nor my memory votes for her as well (there is no voter ID in CA).

If there is a campaign to expose the crimes this woman has committed, I would joyfully contribute to it.

  16. … yet if you’re Adam Kokesh and open carry a perfectly legal shotgun, you get thrown in prison for three months without bail, all without having been convicted of a crime. And some people still believe in the “justice” system.

  17. Senate Sergeant at Arms Terrance W. Gainer was the clown in charge of a 39 day pointless standoff with an old lady in Illinois in 1997.

Shirley Allen – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

His incompetence has made him a success in law enforcement and he has failed his way up the ladder.
If he can achieve one more fail involving the death of innocent ‘civilians’ he’ll have the points necessary to head the ATF or FBI.

  18. I didn’t think anything about the display until you pointed out the legalities involved. Now I hate Feinstein and her sheep even more.

  19. Making jokes about Feinstein’s looks isn’t going to win any credibility with anyone but the choir.

Having said that, I realize that you are only mocking her looks because of her actions (similar to M. Moore), and would not do so otherwise. I know that you have more of a right to insult her than she has the right to support legislation which takes your guns (and endangers children), but choose carefully when to be impolite and when to keep quiet.
    My $.02

  20. “The police stonewalling and cover-up are so that the public doesn’t find out that Chief Lanier enforces laws differently in the District, depending on whether you are a powerful liberal who opposes Second Amendment rights, like Mr. Gregory and Mrs. Feinstein, or an average American.”

Can you say “hypocritical pieces of sh*t” boys and girls? I knew you could!! A++ for everyone!
