Canadian cop killer

“Authorities spent Wednesday night trying to hunt down a man [above] who, they say, fatally shot three of their officers and wounded two others in the Canadian province of New Brunswick,” cnn.com reports. “In a tweet shortly before 10 p.m., the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in New Brunswick said that the shooter is ‘still actively sought.'” As opposed to passively? The unarmed residents of New Brunswick are passively sheltering as the killer roams the [relatively] “gun free” city in the [relatively] “gun free” country to our north. Details to follow.

  1. but, but, I thought it was illegal to have those guns up there? You mean to say, he broke a fire arms law while killing someone? Yeesh, people these days.

    • I can already hear the Canadian politicians clamoring to restore their long gun registry … which would do absolutely ZERO to stop someone from doing something like this.

  2. He looks like some 1980’s John Rambo wannabe. I’m sure the Canadian antis are going to go super full retard now.

    • Hah, the morning news on ABC is calling him Rambo … does this mean that ABC news employees peruse The Truth About Guns?

    • People generally forget that John Rambo didn’t kill anyone in First Blood. The rogue deputy fell out of the copter and was the only one killed. Frankly, he needed killing.

  3. “Passively sought…”

“Ahem… excuse me, excuse me… would anyone happen to know aboot the New Brunswick killer, eh?”

  4. Canucks gonna ban whatever guns are still legal up there faster than you can say “false flag.”

        • I have done some extensive travelling in the U.S. and have fallen in love with three places (no particular order): Florida, Texas and Tennessee. I would be delighted to live in any of them. If anyone knows of a good Soft Gel Company that is hiring Encapsulation Operators in those states…

On a related note, I was disgusted by New Jersey, New York and Chicago (not necessarily Illinois though – I have fond memories of a gal there).

        • Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals is hiring in Seymour, Indiana. Lifetime LTCH. No concealed/open carry specifications. Local laws can be no more restrictive than State law. Numerous DNR operated outdoor ranges, some of which are free to use. Brady gives us 4 points, same as Texas and 4 less that Tennessee.

      • Well, in case you ever feel a need for a change in the scenery, there are a plethora of states down here that would love to have you.

Just remember to steer completely clear of : Pretty much all of the Northeast, Kommiefornia, and Sillynoise. Oh, and Baryland, too.

  5. Good thing the magazine limit for semi-auto rifles (except the Garand) is 5 rounds, that’ll slow him down.

    /sarcasm

  6. Wait a second, the idea of magazine limits is to give someone a chance to get in there and stop the guy while he’s reloading. That sounds real pretty when drooled out the lips of Bloomberg, but really now, gun grabbers consider a good guy with a gun far fetched, then beating up someone during a reload while they are spree killing is even more far fetched.
    Just saying………..

    • More importantly, the attacker has two firearms which means he has a loaded firearm at all times thus negating any “window of opportunity” to rush the attacker when all of his firearms are empty — because there will never be a time when all of his firearms are empty.

  7. Good thing he didn’t have a muzzle device. Lives were saved today. Lets save more and ban guns period.

    • This still doesn’t beat the Santa Barbara / Isla Vista spree killer’s knife body count of a week ago.

  8. There are no guns in Kanada??
At least that’s wjhat Ive been told.
Must be a story off of Naked News………………………

  9. That photos was taken mid shooting. there is also a youtube vid of the first officer shot. My wife actually went to school with this Nut. also there are lots of guns up here but very very regulated and if a civi shot this guy he would probably end up in jail for murder, discharge of firearms in city limits, endangering life, unsafe storage, assault causing death and I’m sure the RCMP would find lots more to charge him with

      • Since when does logic or sense mater to an anti-gun nut job? They’ve never used it in the past. I’m just telling people what I’ve read in Canadian news comment sections. Some anti-gun Canadians are blaming this on the American right-wing pro-gun culture.

    • Why are they blaming us? We would shoot the bastard. However, I reserve judgment on the nutty bastard until we find out why he went of on the LEO. Maybe they were coming for his stuff.

  10. Man there are a lot of people that type-first / think-later on this thread… This kid is taking out RCMPs (cops). It seems from his FB page that he looks a lot like people on this thread (which is bad). https://www.facebook.com/justin.bourque.5682?fref=ts

The RCMPs are in the middle of a scandal called High River where they broke into a bunch of houses and ceased a bunch of guns. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/04/11/kicking-down-doors-of-high-river-gun-controversy

One has to wonder if they are related… (The two locations are thousands of miles apart)

  11. 3 RCMP dead, 2 wounded. photos taken from nearby home. Weapons are listed by news and educated guesses as a tacticool shotgun and, I think, either a M1A or an SKS. I’ve heard .30 caliber in news, and the box mag and profile screams M14 to me.

  12. So, armed robbery gone wrong, schizophrenic off his meds, or Chris Dorner level cop hatred? Any guesses?

  13. Ya’ll come on down to Mississippi , you can keep your firearms , and we really do have a good low cost of living , the only downside is its hot as hell during the summer , plus you might miss the snow during our winters , though lately we have had a couple of snow days , and mostly we ignore the federal government as we think that they are insane anyway . Be prepared and ready . Keep your powder dry .

  14. Oh and what type of firearm is that across his back ? I can see the butt stock by his left hip . The weapon he has in his right hand appears to be an m1a also the buttstock pouch appears to be a Vietnam era pouch , that is still available . Be prepared and ready . Keep your powder dry .

  15. For your safety – Please shelter inside a Target, Starbucks, Chilis, or Chipotle or even a BBQ joint. This guy clearly will obey signs

  16. Canada is not the UK. There are a lot of guns in Canada especially in a rural province like New Brunswick. What they have are lousy carry and self defense laws.

Written from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island which for the geographicly impaired is just above New Brunswick.

    • A “lot of guns” is relative. The state of Kentucky probably has more guns than Canada including law enforcement.

      • Canadians have about 1/3 the number of guns per capita as Americans. Given that they have fewer guns per gun owning household as the US, about 25% of Canadian households are armed. They are hardly a disarmed society. You should be embarrassed by your ignorance of a country with a similar heritage that is right next door.

  17. Yup. Its bad up here. Think commiefornia but worse.

Makes fir a pain in the ass when i try and go shootin my lil revolver.

I live in a little hicktown, so ya do see a fair bit of rifles n shotguns.
However a couple of mine mite have been lost in a tragic boat and moose accident

  18. Oh we are armed to the teeth for such a polite country. Our issue, as indicated above in a comment, is that it is dangerous to use them for defensive purposes without a massive pile of legal trouble.

The official #s from the RCMP are 33/100 Guns to People. The more broadly accepted numbers are closer to 66/100 due to the fact that the gun registry was and is a disaster and there was never a full track on imported firearms over all the many years of history in Canada. The highest aggregate # for privately owned firearms is 21 million and I would believe it. I know that many friends of mine never registered their non-restricted guns. (Restricted still need to be registered).

Also, getting a restricted endorsement on your PAL is SUPER easy. Take one more course and one additional test. Boom. You get access to pistols, ARs and rifles with barrels shorter than 18″.

And New Brunswick has one the highest gun to people ratios in the country so he was likely surrounded by guns but we are brow beat to not use our guns on people. 🙁

  19. Great I just spent $1000 for an M305 + optics for hunting & target shooting; can’t wait until the Liberals win the next election & ban all rifles then watch the psycho’s start killing people with baseball bats & steak knives… Thanks Bourque; burn in Hell
