Two people were reportedly shot in an attack near a polling place in Asuza California. KTLA.com reports that “multiple police and SWAT vehicle could be seen on the streets” and that several roads had already been blocked off.
Two polling places — Memorial Park North Recreation Center and Dalton Elementary School — were apparently shut down, according to L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan.
The registrar described the situation as involving an “active shooter“. “Voters should avoid the area and, if necessary, cast a ballot at an alternate polling location,” Logan wrote on Twitter.

I guess those polling places should have had some guns after all.
Unless CA runs things much differently than the rest of the USA (and that’s quite possible, based on some of their other inane policies), you CAN’T cast a ballot at another location. Your ballot has local issues on it that the other polling place’s ballot will not, and you are not authorized use their ballot, as you cannot have a voice in an area where you do not reside.
Any Californians want to weigh-in on this?
I moved to WA from CA about a year ago. In ca, you were federal assigned a looking place. Not sure if it was one per district or not. When you arrived, you would pass some tables with the registration lists where volunteers would cross your name off, hand you the official ballot, and give you your sticker. There may be provisions for emergencies, though.
From a quick google search, it seems like it’s a median area for crime. Not super safe but not Inglewood. Since it happened “near a polling place and school”, it will be deemed a school shooting, mass shooting, and a Trump voter intimidating voters.

Unpossible! California has all of the common sense gun safety law regulations! This just can’t happen anymore because words on paper save lives!

I just read an updated article at LA Times, and it looks like this happened in a residential area, NOT at a polling place. The perpetrator is someone who frequently visited friends in the neighborhood — which just happens to be near two schools that are polling places.
I thought gun control has all criminals obeying signs and laws? So how does this occur?

I do have to wonder if ‘near’ is anything like the definition of ‘school shooting’ when the shooting takes place 500 feet away at on a saturday at midnight…
How. exactly, are they defining ‘near?’ Was it at the end of the block? The next street over? Or simply in the same town that happens to also have a polling location?
Looks like near means “in the neighborhood.” How big of a neighborhood, I don’t know, but the polling locations are at schools that were locked down because of the nearby incident.
I wouldn’t put it past some of our media hacks to categorize it as a mass shooting, a school shooting, AND election violence — a disingenuous trifecta.
