While at the Gun Rights Policy Conference held last weekend at the Sheraton Crescent Center in Glendale, Arizona, a participant alerted me to this ironic coincidence. The urinal screens at the conference were all Bradys! No, not the gun-grabbing Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, but the legitimate Brady company that produces bathroom products . . .

I’m certain that some waggish member of the hotel staff didn’t order and place Brady urinal screens in the bathrooms merely to provoke smiles (and improve the aim) of Gun Rights Policy Conference participants. No doubt it is merely one of those cosmic coincidences that shine through the clouds of an uncertain universe.

  1. My wife opened their page, and found some nice round pink things she said she’s gonna order and shove up, where the sun don’t shine (any more) if I don’t quit fart’n so much!

    • This makes you sad?
You don’t have guns around the home do you?
Because if this makes you sad, I’d say you’re in for a rough ride.

    • Their coming for your “stuff” Please leave your safe open and your shoot’n irons on the kitchen table. If you nice about this, they might give you a receipt.
Don’t forget! Tie up the dog good!

  2. Oh you guys are hilarious. Make fun of a law named after a guy who did far more for his country than any of you..ie…….he took a bullet while in service to his country and ended up severely affected by it for the rest of his life.

    Yeah, real classy here.

    • What exactly did he do? He was a press secretary (i.e. a professional liar). He got shot, because he was standing near the target, and the shooter had bad aim. He was a victim of violence, and I feel for him in that regard, but he’s not a hero who took a bullet for his country.

    • Do you not agree that the laws and policies pushed by the Brady campaign are bad and worthy of ridicule? Just because he was injured doesn’t somehow make his ideas immune from criticism.

  3. James Brady was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1996 by Clinton. Brady was then cynically dubbed America’s Favorite Vegetable. Can’t find anything particularly noteworthy about his life other than as a symbol or for holding the longest homicide survival record: death ruled a homicide 33 years after shooting.

More interesting were items about Brady Campaign’s background and strategy:

    • I suspect that Gabby will break that 33 year record although both Brady and Giffords were almost the same age when shot, about 40
Gabby born in 1970 and was shot in 2011. Brady born in 1940 and shot in 1981
