File this one under ‘Never let a crisis go to waste.’ Kris Brown of the Brady Campaign along with her fellow flying monkeys at the CSGV and Team ENOUGH are spinning up a little fund raiser online rally this afternoon to take advantage of Wednesday’s mostly peaceful riot and incursion at the Capitol.
Never mind that no one other than law enforcement had guns during the melee Wednesday and the only shot fired came from a Capitol Police officer. Oh wait…one civilian was arrested a mile and half away from the Capitol for illegal gun possession, but he’s allegedly an Antifa member.
…Robert Grimes, 54, of Cadillac says his son is not a supporter of President Donald Trump and should not be associated with those Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol building. His son keeps an eye on groups such as the Proud Boys and was there to protest the Trump faction, he said.
“We’re a very progressive liberal family … if there’s any reason my son was even present, it’s because of his stand against what a lot of those folks who did horrible things yesterday (believe) — and I’m still sick to my stomach (from) when I saw it on TV last night.”
So despite the fact that virtually no one at the Capitol other than law enforcement was armed on Wednesday, as the Brady tweet above makes clear, “we must immediately take enact (sic) to guard against further violent attacks — and gun safety underlies all of them.”
As you undoubtedly know, in the modern newspeak dictionary, “gun safety” means restrictions on civilian gun ownership and use. And the way Brady and their co-conspirators see it, anything that takes place anywhere in the US, is, at heart, a justification or excuse to further limit Second Amendment rights.

A few (nincompoop Trumpers and suspected Antifa moles) caused damage and trespassed, and they should be prosecuted. But…
1) They do not represent the vast majority of Patriots who were there that day.
2) There is uploaded video showing Capitol Police removing barriers and waving people in toward the Capitol steps. The rally participants absolutely did not barge in. Security was extremely lax, considering we’re talking about the very location where our legislative body meets, and where pretty much everyone except POTUS himself was present. If a handful of mere protesters could easily enter, then doesn’t that suggest that any small group of bad actors (representing any of a number of countries who hate us) could have blasted their way in and taken out Reps and Senators? This smells to high Heaven.
3) Interesting that the Left is quick to incorrectly label this as an insurrection, while they downplayed the actual destruction of entire BLOCKS of businesses last summer as “mostly peaceful protesting”.
Gimme a break.

You are correct. No body stormed the Capitol. I was there. Took video. Protestors ran up the steps. They did not attack the police.
This was civil disobedience as called for by Martin Luther King.
I was proud of how well behaved our crowd was.
As big as that crowd was they could have “stormed” the city with a little guidance. It looked pretty cold up there as well, brr! I’m freezing at anything below 55deg.

I’m still trying to figure out what happened to the cop who died. A spoke to a friend this morning who claims he was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher, but none of the stories I have seen say anything other than that he collapsed when he returned to his precinct. The press is equally opaque as to what happened to the three people who “died of medical issues/complications” during the “event. I understand at least one was trampled, but that leaves two others unaccounted for.
I also question whether this event can properly be called an “insurrection.” Insurrection is typically used as a synonym for rebellion, or armed resistance to governmental authority. I don’t think that any of these people were there to overthrow the government by force; it was not an attempted coup.Is it sufficient to constitute “insurrection” merely to disrupt a constitutional proceeding? If so, why were the protests at the Kavanaugh hearings not called insurrection?Or the attempts to burn down courthouses in Washington and Oregon? Why is it insurrection as opposed to a constitutionally protected protest that got out of hand? (I know that the press and pols are using charged speech intentionally, so I am asking a more technical question: are these guys talking through their hats?

There are many rumors out there that the protesters who entered the Capitol were infiltrated by Special Forces units and they were there to steal the laptops of Nancy Pelosi and many other congressmen. These laptops contain damning information that will expose the corruption that rises to the level of treason. There will be arrests made while Martial Law is Declared. This treason may have been a collusion with the Chinese Communist Party. Anyway, that’s what my sources are telling me.

I was there, in DC. Took video when a very small portion of the crowd ran up the Capitol steps in the front of the building. More video of when, an hour later, a very small portion of the crowd ran up the back steps of the Capitol. This was no riot. The mainstream media is deploying their usual strategy of lies and distortions.
There were easily two million of us. Comparitively, the number that entered the Capitol was tiny. Some civil disobedience. Minor property damage and some of that has already been shown to have been caused by Antifa infiltrators. NOTHING like the BLM and Antifa riots.
I saw Trump supporters yelling “Back the blue” to the Capitol police.
My friends an I were standing and speaking with the Air Force veteran who was shot and killed by police. She was truly a patriot.
Just before the curfew was announced, I rounded up my posse of 6. We walked to our cars amid so many speeding police vehicles with blaring sirens, that it seemed like the end of the Blues Brothers movie.
I guess the overwhelming police response was because there were so many of us. But really, this remained a peaceful protest, except for a small group of Antifa infiltrators.

The only gun violence at the protest was committed by a government agent. Do they want to take his gun away? I’m okay with that. First priority for distribution of arms should always be private citizens, because it’s *their* country.

So, for those Americans who only have video to watch to try to understand what happened at the Capitol “Riot”- what are we seeing?
There seems to be a disconnect between the video footage and what is being reported by individuals “who were there”.
It is understandable that each “side” wants to describe events in such a way as to make their actions seem more creditable- but the video footage is pretty deleterious to the “protestors” side. How is this so? CGI? It just doesn’t jibe.

If it’s eyewitness, I think it depends on what part of “there” they were in. The action was a very tiny minority up against the building. Thousands of other people didn’t do anything but stand with likeminded folks and wave flags, and had no way to know what was happening a couple hundred yards away.
