“If we’re serious about keeping our country safe, we also can’t afford to have a President who’s in the pocket of the gun lobby. I’m not here to repeal the 2nd Amendment. I’m not here to take away your guns. I just don’t want you to be shot by someone who shouldn’t have a gun in the first place. We should be working with responsible gun owners to pass common-sense reforms and keep guns out of the hands of criminals, terrorists and all others who would do us harm. …

BFG-Long-Logo-Blue-JPG-220x39“For decades, people have said this issue was too hard to solve and the politics were too hot to touch. But I ask you: how can we just stand by and do nothing? You heard, you saw, family members of people killed by gun violence on this stage. 1. I am going to say something the usual suspects will say is racist. If you are white, Asian or even of Hispanic origin your chances of being shot are almost nonexistant

    • Even if you are black, your chances are still only 30k in about 35 million, something like one in a thousand. And of them, it’s not usually women, children, or the elderly who are targeted. It’s a small, determined guerilla army.

      • And regardless of your race, if you are not felon and don’t hang around with other felons, your chances of getting shot are remarkably low. Granted, you are more likely to be collateral damage in some areas than in others.

      • There is a well documented phenomenon that the farther away from violence the more you react to it. The essential people in the Pentagon was back in the building on 9-12 when people out in flyover country were in a state of panic. Clinton is exploiting this emotion and there are many people in the gun community who play into her hands by justifying their gun ownership because of gang violence and terrorism when they don’t live in or near gang country, and there is no way ISIS will be showing up at their local Tractor Supply Co.

We shouldn’t be posting videos claiming you need an AR to defend ourselves against a non existent (to you) terrorist threat especially when you walk around with your nearly usless pocket pistol and leave your AR at home. What we should be hammering on is that only a small portion of the population commits violence and that the people who call for gun control are the enablers of gang violence and terrorism.

        • ‘Pocket’ pistols are far from useless–it is called ‘concealed carry’ you know–wearing a rain coat in the summer to conceal an AR would not work–one gun that I can easily CC is a Ruger SR9C with 17 round mag + 1–18 available rounds in a pistol that is so accurate you could empty it all in the same spot–and since when do you where ISIS or any other criminally minder group or person is going to show up?

        • I and many others conceal carry pistols as large as a full sized 1911. It doesn’t require a micro pistol. Pocket pistols are useful for one thing, and one thing only, close in personal defense and as I pointed out and cited the FBI source to prove it in the smallest gun article, the 3 yard engagement range is a myth based on a misinterpretation of LEO data. LEOs are charged with arresting people which requires them to close with a suspect. That is not your first option.

        • Love my EDC Ruger SR9c. Smooth trigger, more accurate than I am, but still put all rounds inside the 9 ring at 30 feet. Easy to conceal (with the 10-round mag) and easy to wear. But I carry with the 10+1 on board and a spare 17 along for the ride = 28 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense available.

While it used to be true, and may be for a short while still, that the majority of us who live outside of Democrat controlled urban areas may have little chance of ever needing our EDC, the changing dynamics of the world political realities show that eventually the forces of evil (religious fanatics) will choose when and where violence will occur, not the usual petty crimes that have historically been the issue.

My 28 rounds fired under duress and a severe adrenaline dump may or may not save me or anyone else, but I at least want the chance to make a difference in the outcome, not die cowering under a table at McDonald’s or running from an onrushing truck. YMMV.

        • Hmm.. except that 20 people every minute in the United States are victims of domestic violence. Not sure more guns would solve that, but you definitely can’t make the claim that a small amount of our population is violent. Also, Trump is the least empathetic soul on the planet. So once again, I’m voting Hilary.

        • “I and many others conceal carry pistols as large as a full sized 1911.”

Only because the overwhelming majority of Americans are fat. Someone who’s a healthy weight has a hard time concealing even a mid-size pistol without wearing very baggy shirts and looking like a slob.

        • Kmeisner – you libtards can’t even give a consistent definition of “domestic abuse”. Same as “sexual assault” or global warming/climate change/whatever. Just pull an new BS phrase out of your ass as the occasion may demand. Then redefine it at will.

Define “domestic abuse” 1960 and give us the statistics for 1960 and 2015. You can’t do it because it’s BULL. Stop being a beta pansie for the gals at NOW.

    • Stupid people, stupid places, doing stupid things.

Criminals, in crime-ridden places, doing criminal things.

      Yeah, that works.

    • Let’s not forget that self-defense is only one reason we have the Second Amendment. That said, the primary responsibility for self-defense lies with the individual, not the police or a hopelessly incompetent central government who views its citizens with contempt..

    • Sorry, but between Trump and Hilary, I’m voting for Hilary. I doubt anything substantial gun laws will pass, but the chances of a major international confrontation with trump is almost certain. And there’s no way he will be good for the economy. Only those with no money believe instability and infighting is good for the economy.

But on topic, I do enjoy and even count on my white privileges when doing stupid things. White people will always be given the benefit of the doubt. Black people will always be suspect.

      • Trump, of course, has no real record on international policy. Clinton actually has one – and it is horrible and horrifying.

        So your choice is absurd.

      • Maybe you should take a gander at her tax plan. Among other things, it proposes a 25% federal tax on firearm purchases, increasing business taxes, and a slew of other taxes to pay for “free stuff.”

Let me also second the comment about her foreign policy experience. It is best described as catastrophic. Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, hundreds of thousands dead because ‘we” wanted to bring “democracy” to people who do not want it, understand it, or can practice it. We abandoned Ukraine when the Russians. The nuclear treaty with Iran is something of an international joke, largely because of th side deals she negotiated. And the list goes on.

      • “White Privilege?” You think it’s a privilege to walk down the street unmolested by agents of the State? No, peckerwood, it’s a RIGHT. If it’s a privilege, then it is granted by someone. If it’s granted, it can be removed. And if it is unfairly given to only one race, than the rational solution is to stop and frisk EVERYONE.
How bout you start activating for CIVIL RIGHTS, statist slave?

  2. Appeal to emotions so that we can take away your rights — got it! No Thanks.

Unfortunately, there will be plenty of Fudds that will eat that up.

My two most hated words “common sense” — anytime I here them I instantly turn off and don’t care what that person is saying anymore.

      • “It’s kind of funny how good they are at devaluing words.”

They’ve had a LOT of practice.

A few other fun examples of words they have completely devalued:

        rape
        sexual predator
        terrorist
        literally
        reasonable
        unarmed

Shoot..they’ve even diluted the racial designator “black.” B. Clinton was called “the first Black President” back in the day, and there are Caucasian people who try to pass themselves as ‘black’ today.

    • Scariest phrase in the English language: “We’re from the government and we’re here to help.”

Second scariest phrase in the American language: “I support the second amendment, but…”

There is no “but” in the Second Amendment.

      • Regardless of the policy issue, when a liberal is speaking everything before the “but” is Bravo Sierra.

  3. Isn’t that sweet. She “doesn’t want” me to get shot. Never mind that making me helpless is not going to achieve that.

And no, tdiinva… our risk of being attacked is never going to be non-existent, regardless of our race or sex. The risk may be low for most of us, but the statistics go out of the window when it is YOU under attack. Then the risk becomes 100%.

I survived a lethal attack, because I had a gun and used it. And that attack happened in a remote desert community of a few thousand. It can happen anywhere.

  4. Uh, and I own a beautiful fountain in Rome. It is called Fontana di Trevi. Since I’m financially in dire straits, I was looking for a buyer. Will make a good price!???

    • Check your fountain dude. The Trevi nets a couple hundred bucks a day in loose change thrown into it by the tourists. Grab a shovel and a snorkel and your financial woes will be history.

  5. The cunning to all of politics is saying things in a vague enough way that everyone will fill in the vagaries with their own expectations. To a gun grabber this will sound like a way to implement European style gun control. To a Fudd this will sound like outlawing AR’s.

  6. Pathologic LIAR. I would not believe Anythimg that hag blathers. It will say or do ANYTHIMG to win and gain control. Dangerous viper.

Liar, traitor, felon. Only federal role for her should be in prison.

    • You own, use, sell, borrow, lend, rent, like firearms, gun accessories and or services? Then you are part of the gun lobby, as am I.

    • Chip, turn the argument back on them, like this:

“Thousands die needlessly each year on American roads because the ‘Car Lobby’ refuses to mandate alcohol intoxication ignition interlock switches on cars and trucks.”

      See?

    • Which means she doesn’t want to repeal the 2nd Amendment, she wants to pretend it never had any meaning in the first place.

  7. According to them the republicans are the ones appealing to fear……………….I guess police officers and gun owners are the real scary ones.

  8. Wait … She’s saying Trump is in the pocket of the gun lobby?!

The first real outsider in US presidential politics for generations? A businessman who’s worked in real estate, not firearms or machining? And a guy who self-financed much of his initial campaign?

    Wow. Just … wow.

    • She said:
“If we’re serious about keeping our country safe, we also can’t afford to have a President who’s in the pocket of the gun lobby.”
What she meant to say was:
“If we’re serious about keeping our country safe, we also can’t afford to have a President who’s in the pocket of the foreign interest lobby.”

      • No, what she MEANT to say is “We can’t afford to have a President who is in the pocket of any lobby…unless it’s me.”

  9. What about the 1,000+ Americans murdered every day by incompetent, lazy and careless healthcare “professionals” ?????

  10. We can “heal the divides”. Label liberal/progressivism as a cult that promotes within a persons psyche a dis-empowered feeling of self-hating and self-loathing that leads to an a sense of impotent homicidal rage. This can cause some of the more mentally unstable to explode in a rampage of looting, burning and mass murder.

As we see over and over again, it is those of leftist bent that are at the fore front of the rioting in the inner cities and that are the most often committing mass murder.

This would be a good first step to “healing the divides” in this country.

  11. “Blah blah blahbitty blah blah blah!” (Nods head while scanning room with dead fish stare meant to be perceived as steely resolve). “Bah blah blahbitty blah blah BLAH!” (Nods head while scanning room with dead fish stare meant to be perceived as steely resolve) “And BLAH BLAH BLAH!!” (Points finger)

  12. Great. If you want to not be shot by people who should not own firearms then you’ll prosecute more than 5% of people who lie on the 4473? You’ll instead enforce the existing laws on the books, or perhaps strengthen the penalties for those illegally possessing firearms? You will stop playing catch and release with violent felons? Release non-violent offenders to release pressure on our prison system? Eliminate the for profit prison system which creates criminals and negatively impacts society long term? You’ll wind down the War on Drugs which has helped fuel the violence in inner city areas? You won’t demonize our police when it is politically convenient and instead allow them to make our communities safer?

Or is it more likely that you’ll ban “assault weapons”, ban “high capacity magazines”, make firearm manufacturers the only industry liable for the criminal use of their products outside the scope of their control, place people on a secret government list to deny them the exercising of their Constitutional rights, and make the requirements to keep and bear arms so onerous that it will be next to impossible in practical terms to actually exercise that right? All while telling us “I respect the Second Amendment”

These restrictions would never be permitted to be applied to any other Constitutional right.

    • “If you want to not be shot by people who should not own firearms then you’ll prosecute more than 5% of people who lie on the 4473? You’ll instead enforce the existing laws on the books, or perhaps strengthen the penalties for those illegally possessing firearms?”

Not a rebuke, sir, but a reminder.

The BATFE Form 4473, the majority of existing firearms laws on the books, the concept of “illegally possessing firearms” are each and every one violations of the Second Amendment by the federal government the Second Amendment was intended to protect us from.

Please review the portion o the Second Amendment that states, “…the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” and get back to us.

      Thank you.

  13. This “divide” was created by her and her kind. She can start to close it by swearing off meddling in my life and stepping away from politics.

What you wanna bet she doubles down on stupid, instead?

    Trump 2016.

    • I dunno.

I think she deserves a term.

Just not the term she’s volunteering for.

      Hillary-Prison 2016 (though if I have to wait for 2017, I will)

  14. She who would be Caesar speaks:

    Countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury the 2nd Amendment,
    not to praise it!

All hail the new Dear Leader, and give to Her your votes!
She will Raze you up and cast down the evil gun!
All hail the new Dear Leader, and give to Her your votes!
She will turn the entire bill of rights into a footnote in the books of history!
All hail the new Dear Leader, and give to Her your votes!
She will set you free, and set you down in the chains of the State!

    • Caesar was dead when that speech rolls around. It’s Marc Antony speaking at Caesar’s funeral and using the occasion to move the masses in his favor.

  15. I’m not here to repeal the 2nd Amendment. I’m not here to take away your guns.

But she is here to reverse the heller decision. That means she is here to take our individual right to self defense and gun possession. So make no mistake, if the people’s attitudes were different or if she thought she could make it happen without political backfire, she would seek a repeal of the 2nd, and would have everyone eventually turn in their legal guns made illegal (I.E take our guns).

    • I love how they use words that most people do not understand. She alone could never repeal the 2nd Amendment but she could certainly twist the courts to make it irrelevant without repealing anything.

    • The woman is a liar or an idiot she has said numerous times that the Heller decision takes away the states power to legislate gun laws which we all know is BS. Heller made clear that jurisdictions could not effectively ban firearms for use in immediate self defense. E.g. Washington D.C.’s outright banning of handguns and all other firearms could not be stored in a usable condition in private homes.

  16. Look Hillary, I’m not going to buy you any new gun laws when I don’t even see you using the gun laws I already let you have.

    • The only laws on the books that do not violate the Second Amendment, and even some of those are in a gray area, are the laws that attempt to restrict or punish where and for what reason you threaten to or actually do DISCHARGE a firearm. Every single other law regarding how you obtain, store or carry a firearm, or ANY ARMS, is a violation of the Second Amendment, no matter who you are or what your history may be.

The government not only has no authority to determine who may or may not purchase arms or the conditions under which those transactions may take place, they have no authority to decide where and by what method you may or may not bear those arms, so long as you are not actively threatening or actually shooting at anybody.

  17. Fantasy: “I just don’t want you to be shot by someone who shouldn’t have a gun in the first place.”
Reality: Meanwhile, gangs and criminals in Chicago / LA / NY killed X amount of people. Off to a great start.

Basically, if you’re not getting the military and national guard mobilized to crack down on high crime areas to shut them down, then you’re obviously not serious about solving the root of “gun violence” at all.

    • Posse Comitatus.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_Act

There is a good reason why it is only under very rare and severe circumstances that the “standing armies” of the federal government and the States may be deployed against their own citizens.

What you are suggesting, sir, would result in those same military units being used by those same governments to enforce gun confiscation laws. Is that your intention?

    • It just bugs me as to why we do not use the most powerful military force in human history to secure our country.

      http://townhall.com/columnists/jeffjacoby/2015/05/10/when-us-troops-left-too-soon-n1996948

In a striking new book, After Appomattox, historian Gregory Downs chronicles the years of military occupation that followed Lee’s surrender to Grant in 1865 — a military occupation that was indispensable to the uprooting of slavery and the political empowerment of freed slaves. In the face of Southern white supremacist hostility, it was only the continuing presence of federal troops in the South that could break up remaining pockets of rebellion, establish the right of blacks to vote and seek election, void discriminatory laws, and unilaterally remove disloyal or racist sheriffs and judges from office.

But there were far too few troops to do the job properly. With the end of battlefield fighting, pressure to “bring the boys home” was intense. By the end of 1866, fewer than 25,000 troops remained in the South — down from nearly 1 million at the time Lee surrendered. Meanwhile, a violent white insurgency was spreading, led by a Democratic Party terror group called the Ku Klux Klan. These insurgents “spread across the South,” Downs writes, “assassinating Republican leaders and intimidating black voters.”

Where the US military held sway, Reconstruction legislatures made remarkable gains — funding schools and hospitals, reforming property and marriage laws, making possible the election to office of more than 1,500 black candidates. But those gains were swept away as it became clear that Washington would not deploy the troops necessary to crush the Klan terror. Public support for continuing the occupation evaporated. By the late 1870s, the troops were effectively gone. Southern Democrats moved ruthlessly to roll back the astonishing progress in black civil rights; in its place they imposed poll taxes, literacy tests, and racial segregation. “Without the fear of federal [military] power,” recounts Downs, “a new and bleak era of Jim Crow was dawning.”

  18. She wants to force all children to be shot….by what ever products her pharmaceutical overlords “recommend”, or be denied an education in public and private schools.

  19. For decades, people have said this issue was too hard to solve and the politics were too hot to touch.

What issue? Gun ownership wasn’t an issue until they made it one.

But I ask you: how can we just stand by and do nothing? You heard, you saw, family members of people killed by gun violence on this stage. You heard, you saw, family members of police officers killed in the line of duty because they were outgunned by criminals. I refuse to believe we can’t find common ground here.

In other words gun ownership? It is already against the law to kill people, and people that murder with a gun or otherwise if caught get punished. Anything else is trying to prevent crime before it happens, and you absolutely cannot do that without sacrificing the people’s individual liberties.

Taking the people’s freedoms away because of what they “might” do is absolutely unacceptable to me.

We have to heal the divides in our country.”

No. There is no healing necessary. Only you guys leaving me and mine alone. Punish people who hurt and pray upon others and leave the rest of us alone. I don’t need more rules and regulations in my life because of what “might” happen. There is no common ground here whatsoever.

  20. “We have to heal the divides in our country.”

And who better to do that than the most divisive, mistrusted (even by those in her own party), disliked presidential candidate in at least a century (if not the entire history of the country)?

Regardless of which of the two shitbag choices wins this election, ain’t no “divides” being healed for at least four years.

  21. Just a thought…America’s gun problem / “issue” is a smoke screen.

Let’s spool up white folk attacking their gun rights while we import illegals by the trainload. Let’s ship children to their illegal parent on the people’s coin. Create BLM to march on cities and call white people racist for being white and murder police. Maintain sanctuary cities to protect illegals from the federal government. Direct Border Patrol to switch primary duties of capture and enforcement to administrative processing and release. Unleash the IRS and EPA on individuals and business but crushing them with paperwork.

These actions will keep Dems in government while extracting every nickel from the people.

Never been about the gun. That problem was solved with 27 words 240 years ago. Local state and federal governments are doing their best to screw citizens right to lawful self protection.

    • All of politics has turned into a smoke screen — nobody cares about issues — it is more like rooting for your favorite sports team. You don’t care about anything except your team wins. Most people I speak to either parrot the candidates or don’t care about the issues and just root for the team. Few American’s look deeper than the sound bite. You believe Tim Kaine’s Spanish parlor tricks mean anything more than to make believe they care about Hispanics?

“We the People” are the idiots who keep voting idiots. The most qualified people for the jobs do not want to be involved in the media circus and the name calling and disinformation media attacks.

About 100 days from the election and have you heard anyone talk about real issues or is it just rhetoric? Even Hillary’s plan that was published has nothing but promises but no plan on how to pay for anything. It is all BS — that is what politics has become — smoke screen, BS, propaganda and more BS!

  22. And now we have reports of three dead in a shooting in a Seattle suburb, at a college-age party, by a university student, early and sketchy reports connect him to a Ruger AR556 from a tweet picture last night.

Not 48 hours after the Seattle Times ran a piss-poor excuse of an op-ed supporting an assault weapons ban.

Gonna be a long election season.

  23. Suck it, Hildabeast. It seems that every time one of these psychos goes on a shooting spree, he was already “known to police” and had an extensive history of mental illness and other red flags. Yet, our system did nothing.

Same with the terrorists. Typically, they’ve been under FBI investigation or our authorities were tipped off by someone else in advance. Yet, our system did nothing.

A third scenario is that they had no history whatsoever that would cause alarm, but they went on a rampage anyway. Across all scenarios, existing laws are usually violated leading up to the rampage.

Our government either refuses to use the tools already at its disposal, or in other cases no tools would be useful, anyway. So what’s the rationale for imposing more burdens and further infringements on Americans, when the utility of that option has long since been exhausted?

The answer is there is no good reason. Some of these statists just want to obliterate all sense of personal responsibility, to erode resistance to our slide into socialism. Others flat out want to impose authoritarian rule over America. Don’t kid yourself: there are psychopaths out there right now licking their lips at these developments, hoping that full blown dictatorship overtakes America in time for them to be a part of it and to indulge their sadistic fantasies on a national scale.

Firearms freedom is the premier civil rights struggle of our time. ANYONE, regardless of party affiliation, familial relation, or personal friendship, who opposes firearm freedom is either a fool or a fraud and probably shouldn’t be part of your life. Are you a 2A absolutist or not? Shouldn’t that extend to the people with whom you associate?

  24. Would be so much more entertaining if she would say crap like this in the third person ala Bob Dole. “Hillary Clinton does not want you to get shot,” says Mizz Rodham 🙂

  25. I don’t want other people to get shot, either, but I don’t propose trampling on the rights of the law-abiding and making the exercise of a protected right a burden.

Hillary needs to study up on the militia concept, and then ponder Article I Section 8 clause 16, and base any proposals on the authority granted there; no other approach is constitutionally legitimate.

  26. Given that Hildebeest is a pathological LIAR, I do not believe anything she says. She would be as likely to make this statement quoted today and categorically deny it the next day. Worse yet, the morons who intend to vote for her would believe her denial as readily as they believe the original statement.

  27. The hildebeast makes me vomit in my mouth whenever I see/hear it…been feeling ill a lot lately;(

  28. I predict she wins, easily, but not by landslide. Because…your vote in a presidential election counts for squat. The electoral college will choose the candidate that most represents the establishment, the status quo and who is most controllable. That is not Trump, although this is no endorsement of Trump, I believe anyone involved in politics is mud by nature, even those who bother to vote. Then what happens is, motivated by Hillary’s election, the right leaning will come out in force for the senate, congress and mayoral elections where a vote is a vote and she won’t be able to do much without executive order. So 4-8 more years of the same, healthy guns sales, ammo shortages.

    • Do a little research. There are 6 Senate seats up for grabs including Ryan’s. All those races right now are polling even which means 50/50 they could go either way. There is a chance that the Senate is lost. If the Senate is lost and Hillary wins, she will be able to get the judges she wants.

What you are saying is not a guarantee. Trump could win and the Senate could be lost or Hillary can win and the Senate is lost.

      • Do a little research of your own, Ryan is speaker of the *HOUSE*. And all members of the house are up for reelection.

  29. Hillary Clinton Doesn’t Want Me To Get Shot?
    That’s great!
And I don’t want her to get shot,
but I have a feeling that if she becomes POTUS,
her first initiative will be try to initiate another Assault Weapons Ban or
an outright ban on certain guns or ammo.
I really don’t want her to get shot.

  30. “..keep guns out of the hands of criminals, terrorists and all others who would do us harm. …”

If they are criminals why are they not incarcerated?

If they are Terrorists why are they walking free?

And how are you identifying the ones who would do us harm? I mean specifically? If i disagree with you is that enough to be considered as one who would do “us” harm?
