You ever notice that “rampant racism” and “rape culture” on campuses are on campus run almost exclusively by liberals?
If this is the type of brain drain we face, then campus carry could be the single greatest law ever passed by the Texas legislature.
Now we just need to work on a constitutional amendment to outlaw welfare (i.e., the State taking other people’s tax dollars and “redistributing” them). Replace welfare with one-way bus tickets to the liberal paradise of the individual’s choosing, ban it by constitutional amendment, and that will stop illegal immigration and Californication dead in its tracks. Then combine that with the brain drain of the hyper-liberals out of our universities to stop the Austinization of the new generation, and you just may secure liberty in Texas once and for all.

This is a standard way of generating advertising revenue on the radio. “Your Quote of the Day, brought to you by Leadco Construction”, for instance. Unless you like the idea of the subscription model this is a painless and pre-existing means of taking care of business.
“Quote of the day brought to you by Blue Force Gear” would be an improvement over the current syntax.
Agree with Curtis, it’s confusing wording as-is. Would be better as “Quote of the Day (brought to you by Blue Force Gear)” or something like that.
I’m with Shwiggie. I find “Blue Force Quote of the Day” understandable and less confusing than the “Tostitos Half Time Show brought to you by Toyota” kind of stuff that happens in major sporting events. An announcement would have offered some clarification (if I missed it then shame on me).

For people who take such positions which rely on ignoring or discounting evidence that exists all around them is it a lot of work to avoid information each day or is their preconceived bias so powerful it creates an information forcefield that automatically repels any data contrary to the bias?
I see this everyday as somebody in the IT field where folks are literally blind to anything that upsets their world view. I see it at a town level, state level, national level. I used to think they were just ignorant of the data but all efforts to inform are met with impenetrable resistance. As if they’re proud of their ignorance yet lack any justification for remaining ignorant.
Just last night on a local level we had a hundred people in to discuss relocation or renovation of a building. It was all emotion and suddenly nobody cared about ADA compliance, safety regs, access or cost and the people wanted to prop up a dead building for several millions more than build a new building. Immediately following the panel everyone in attendance complained about the cost of what they all wanted having known the cost.
Everybody is a @#$%ing moron and I resent having to live among and have my existence influenced by them.

Contemplation and deliberation are occurring in classrooms? Where? Certainly not at the undergraduate level.
I remember sitting in college classrooms, contemplating where to go for happy hour and contemplating whether or not to invite the cute blonde next to me.
That is what I call brain drain because that is a no brainer right there.
I find that institutions of higher learning that are suppose to be open and afford the ability to explore new ideas are the most closed minded places except when it involves the ideas put forth by the collective liberal agenda.
Turn campus carry into a discussion. Allow students to discuss, debate and write about the subject. No minds need to be changed, but civil discourse even with civil disagreement would go a long way versus the closed minded statements of this man. What is the worst thing that can happen from that type discussion? Understanding of the concerns of the other side of argument? The finding that the other side may not be your enemy? That because someone carries a gun does not mean that person is idiot? That maybe the anti-gun crowd could be wrong?
Oh the possibilities if people would simply talk to each other face-to-face versus screaming over each other on Twitter and Facebook — blows the mind!
I have a dream, that the anti-gun crowd instead of writing articles where they can have a one sided opinion of which nobody is allowed to disagree, would actual do what they preach and have an open discourse where each side is given equal time to present their view. I’m pretty sure the brain drain at colleges occurred years ago. Aside from a few intrepid souls, all that’s left are American hating, pinko professors and bleating, ignorant kids. It was bad 15 years ago when I went, but it’s so much worse now.
I had a college professor once admit to me, “I only became a professor because I never wanted to leave college.” Sadly, that’s all the majority of educators at colleges are – stupid kids who never wanted to grow up and enter the real world.
Again, they immediately assume people over 21 at the university level are irresponsible explosions ready to happen. The usual nonsense. We should be promoting responsibility and encouraging the expansion of it – not restricting people. I reject the notion that Americans cannot be responsible people for their own actions.
