  1. If you have a duty to protect the public then are you personally responsible for any damages to the public due to your incompetence? If you are not personally responsible, then perhaps you should allow all citizens to protect themselves as they see fit as long as they are not PHYSICALLY harming anyone else.

    • It’s hard to protect yourself against an armed attacker without harming the guy. Self-defense is the issue here, and if the leftists have their way, everyone will have to bind and gag themselves when they are being robbed or raped, or risk being charged with “oppressing a poor, innocent minority child.”

    • I don’t know about that, I would not recommend issuing guns with 2 lb trigger pulls to police. Alt least not the ones who cant keep their booger hooks out of the trigger (I think that is a lot if not most of them)

      • And since all government is, is a collectin of dangerous people, start by banning them. And then, there will be noone around to run around “banning” stuff. The Final solution to the freedom question, finally!

    • Yeah, kinda left out “shall not be infringed”, but hey, what’s wrong with selective enforcement of any and all laws? If one state can ban assault weapons, then another state can allow assault rifles, right?

    • Sounds just like Hillary in the Presidential Debate last night. She kept repeating she “supports the Second Amendment” … “supports the Second Amendment” … “supports the Second Amendment” … she must have repeated it at least five or six times. But always the “BUT”…but with “sensible” limitations … but with keeping guns out of the wrong hands, etc, etc….like the rest of her performance, “look and sound” presidential, say what people want to hear regardless of what you believe or what you have actually stated in private (like say, in a paid Wall Street speech or an email)…a true politician.

      • I have to keep repeating that simple fact:

Progressives/Democrats’ brains operate on altruism, fantasy, and emotion. They have an altruistic vision of the world which absolutely requires fantasy to explain how their altruistic vision will come to fruition. And they do all of that because feeling good is more important than facing reality, which does not always feel good.

I touched upon an example of this recently where I recounted a 1960s era Los Angeles Police department plan for a “safe” utopia Los Angeles. Their plan required multiple helicopters in the air at all times which would immediately spot “I need help!” emergency beacons/lights on rooftops. Never mind the fact that keeping multiple helicopters in the air at all times would cost billions of dollars every year. (And I have not even touched upon weather events which would not allow helicopters to see rooftop emergency lights/beacons … not to mention weather conditions which would ground all helicopters.)

Current Progressives/Democrats are no different than their predecessors from 60 years ago.

    • Come now, do you want a real answer? Let me give you a hit, some firearms are far more efficient and engaging and neutralizing multiple targets than others. Now we can get into issues of range, but lets keep the argument simple for now.

    • Everyone’s know the AR is more deadly than say a Mini 14 because of the pistol grip and the shoulder thingy which goes up…

And it’s black. Which, you know… frighten the proper white folks.

    • I feel like caliber can have a big affect on being more deadly. Yes, they all shoot bullets, but a .50-90 or say a .416 Rigby are going to do alot more deadly stuff then a .223.

    • maybe some enterprising young reporter should ask him how many people have been killed by EBRs in Washington over the last decade, and how many have been killed by handguns. (I know it will never happen, but it would be nice.)

  2. A simple trick to showing your respect for the Constitution while pissing all over it is to light it on fire first.

    • More like he’s wiping a putrid brown water evacuation in a portable shitter and rehanging on the wall. All there for the people should they squint, holding their noses, able to read.

  3. The AG’s oath of office reads as follows:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the state of Washington, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of (name of office) to the best of my ability.”

Do you see a “duty to protect the public” in this oath? Of course not. Just as I see nothing allows him to condition his support for the Constitution. Bottom line – The AG’s a liar and hypocrite like most liberal politicians.

    • You mean messin’ with Sasquatch is a felony now?!? Do the jerky makers know about this?

Oh, and I don’t think that’s coffee dust they’re inhaling.

  4. To anti gun politicians. As long as they haven’t banned kitchen knives, they’ve respected the second amendment.

  5. Just about everything done in this country in the last 100 years (minimum) has been done under the “public welfare” clause. Maybe we need to ban that.

    • Government actually does have an implicit directive to contribute to the well-being of the We the People. And their primary contribution to our well being is to enforce contracts between willing parties, capture and prosecute bad actors who attack or harm We the People, and coordinate/enable national defense against state actors who seek to attack or harm us. Slightly less obvious, government has an extremely limited directive to facilitate commerce … which consists of coining money, protecting intellectual property, removing overt barriers to commerce, and constructing roads/bridges for commerce.

Pretty much everything beyond that is at best meddling in the lives of We the People and at worst downright criminal exploitation of We the People for the ruling class.

Government schools and entitlements (forced charity) are not legitimate mandates of any government. Of course government schools and entitlements are THE core platform of Progressives/Democrats which means they will never willingly eliminate them.

  6. ““I have a duty to protect the public, as well as uphold the constitution. My proposal will ban some of the blatant emancipation while respecting the Thirteenth Amendment prohibition on slavery.”

    • “I have a duty to protect the public, as well as uphold the constitution. My proposal will ban some of the deadliest religions while respecting the First Amendment right to freedom of religion.”

“I have a duty to protect the public, as well as uphold the constitution. My proposal will ban some of the most hateful words while respecting the First Amendment right to freedom of speech.”

  7. “It makes no sense today that it is easier to get a weapon or a gun than it is to get an airplane ticket…”

Murray does a good job of topping the AG’s fail.

  8. My email to the AG:

The proposed Assault Weapons Ban is a farce of governmental action, aimed at political platitudes rather than a solid, crime-reducing effort.

I don’t want to feel safe. I want to be safe. The proposed AWB does nothing to make me feel safe, and it will do nothing to make our state safer.

According to the 2015 FBI crime statistics, Washington had a reported 209 murders; 141 of them the perpetrator used a firearm. Of those 141 murders, how many were committed using a rifle?

    Three.

The AR/AK platform isn’t the killer you make it out to be.

As far as recent shootings in Washington goes, the Cascade Mall shooter had a Ruger 10/22, which is a rifle that uses 22LR rimfire catridges, and exempt from your “legislation” because it lacks any of the characteristics listed in Section 27.

    • Nice email but the reality is these people are now pushing their ideology because they feel with clinton coming and ag in Massachusetts set the trend you see. People like this are career pussies and fascist. The Democrats are using the blind passion younger voters have. In the false sense of voting for liberalism, their fooling people into blindly supporting neo-fascist shit.

The letter or email that needs to be sent is from a group or organization telling the ag all gun owners and members of the nra will not comply. I’m not going to comply if Oregon goes down this same road. I’m going to encourage groups to not comply. Please do the same.

  9. The Washington state constitution has it’s own guarantee:

ARTICLE I, SECTION 24 RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men.

This is even stronger wording than the Second Amendment, and is explicitly and unambiguously stated as a right to individual armed self-defense. It’s very hard to square to that honestly with any sort of gun control measures. However, dishonesty is plentiful around here, so…

  10. Deadliest weapons? On average how many people died in his state from being shot with a rifle over the last five years? Knowing how small that number has to be, shouldn’t he be spending his time doing something more useful like trying to ban blunt objects?

  11. I mean, seriously look at him, He has more estrogen in him than the average woman. There is nothing remotely masculine about him. He looks like a violent sneeze would give him a bloody nose. What kind of men would vote for this human being to be their leader? What could he possibly know about the evil that exists in the world and what it takes to keep families safe from that evil?

    • My first thought when I saw that picture was “GERSH!”

Seriously, that dude looks triggered simply posing for a photo.

    • I feel like most of our public “servants” are disgruntled chess club/ debate club types that held a grudge against the world long after high school was over . (Nothing against actual chess players btw)

  12. O G Ferguson is confused. (That’s a gang sign he’s making with his face — the sneering nose of distain, at the deplorables in their basket, the irredeemables, and let’s not forget the bitter clingers. Eeeew.)

The A G’s job is enforcement of the laws. It isn’t his job to protect us. He’s our agent, in governing, and protecting ourselves.

  13. I live in WA and this estrogenic piece of shit needs to go. Can’t wait to vote against him. He is more of a threat than Hillary right now. Also, we need to vote out that pussy Inslee as well. If we could get Bryant elected then he will veto all of this bullshit.

  14. I love Washington, but if I could convince my wife we would leave for Wyoming tomorrow. Washington, at least the west side has been turned into Kalifornia Norte. The immigrants escaping from the south have brought their pathetic progressivism with them and it isn’t working out to well for the rest of us. Oh and by the way, FU Fergie, you’re a punk ass biotch.

  15. These are the to 10 Causes of death in 2013.

    Heart disease
    Cancer (malignant neoplasms)
    Chronic lower respiratory disease
    Accidents (unintentional injuries)
    Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases)
    Alzheimer’s disease
    Diabetes (diabetes mellitus)
    Influenza and pneumonia
Kidney disease (nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis)
    Suicide (intentional self-harm).

According to this list, the “deadliest weapon” is ourselves. Almost all are self-inflicted to one degree or another.
So maybe mr. Idiot AG has a point- if we can ban all humans from Washington state, the human death toll there will seriously decline.

  16. This guy Ferguson doesn’t understand the first amendment either….
Either that or he hates florists and cake bakers…..
