“‘Whites walking down Main Street with an AK-47 are defenders of American values; a black man doing the same thing is Public Enemy No. 1,’ says Gallagher, a professor at La Salle University in Pennsylvania.” That’s the considered assessment of race relations in America accruing to La Salle Univerity sociologist Charles Gallagher. Fortunately, we know that Gallagher is wrong. See the picture above?  It was taken in August of this year. Those are members of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club who went to a restaurant and ate while openly carrying their guns… next to a group of police officers. Nothing happened . . .

Not exactly what you would expect if a group of public enemies no. 1 sat down in a restaurant with a group of police officers.

Gallagher doesn’t say that white people buy guns because of overt racism, but that’s the implication. He credits a cultural stereotype.

Gallagher says he’s not accusing every white person who buys a gun of being a racist; he’s accusing them of being human, of unconsciously absorbing stereotypical attitudes about black men and violence that are as old as America itself.

This, in spite of massive collusion in the old media to downplay black-on-black in crime, decades old pressure in the entertainment media not to portray black people as criminals, and the strong overportraying of white men in movies as the most common violent criminals. From the AP stylebook:

A few sensible rules should guide our decisions concerning references to race: (1) Racial identification should not be included in any story unless such reference is clearly relevant to the story or when part of a detailed description of a fugitive.

Downplaying black predominance in crime is so prevalent that most people in urban areas now assume that if the race of the perpetrator is not mentioned, they are black.  It is an open joke. The AP’s attempt to avoid perpetuating a stereotype has become emblematic of social engineering by the old media. It may have some effect, but reality overrides it.

Open carry groups — whatever the color of the carriers — in Texas are found all over the state. Open carry is virtually synonymous with strong, symbolic, protected political speech.  Such is the case whether the marchers are black gun clubs in Texas or mostly white open carry parades in rural Colorado.

Open carry is becoming more and more accepted as a way of expressing First and Second Amendment rights.

  1. Great article. They want us to all be fear mongering racists. Fortunately, that’s not true. I do believe this is a classic example of projection.

    • I wanted to be able to carry a gun in a theater after the Aurora shooting when I bought my gun. Wasn’t that shooter a white guy?
The only other people that I want protection from are the gun grabbers. How many of them are black? I don’t know but I do know they are all Democrat. So…no…racism has nothing to do with it.

      • At our range blacks and whites enjoy shooting together in mass and race is never an issue until a story like this appears…all carry concealed and if there is a disparity at all it is economic and nothing else..one of the reasons for the founding of the NRA was to protect the rights of southern blacks to defend themselves and their families…education on guns and the shooting sports history would
Help more then more scare articles for readership..

      • Sorry honey, the gun grabbers are not dividing us, it is blacks, homosexuals, and Hispanics who are racists and don’t like whites or the guns whites own because they know that guns are used to prevent crime by persons of color.

        • So, I literally just went to the range with a work friend, a Mexican lesbian. It’s one of her favorite things to do. Also, there were plenty of black families having fun at the same range, too.
And my Meixcan wife just bought her 2nd gun.

        • I am Spanish white Spanish American by birth Southern by the grace of God I speak several languages fluently I love America I was in Marine Corps I’m a marine I do not have anything against any person of color or gender we all bleed red when we die we go to the ground we are all children of God as Spanish American I stand by the Second Amendment and the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States to me there sacred just like the Bible I love all you mean beans soul for you to say that Hispanics hate white people is incorrect I was born in this country I have Spanish descent in American and I love this country more than you can ever imagine I served the Marine Corps 10 years so to all the true Americans out there who love this country protect the 2nd amendment in the Bill of Rights many men like me fought for freedom many better man than me died for our freedom we must never forget who we are in the God can give us the freedoms and liberties that are founders intended to be god bless america Sincerely Yours sergeant Joseph Velez USMC

        • Hmm.

If what Federale says is true, then the black people whose company I enjoy at the gun range must not really be black.

They must be wearing makeup. Ah, that’s it!

Part of a vast conspiracy of some sort.

    • Wait, I must be doing it wrong. I’ve convinced several of my black friends to arm themselves and now they come out to the range all the time.

Or, it must be a lie, because I’m a gun owner therefore I do not have any friends of color. It must all be in my head.

You know what irritates me more? That I have to say ‘my black friends’. Posts like this are the only place that I ever have to write that. In all other places they are just ‘my friends’.

  2. Glad to see our lawful brothers in arms…no matter what race, creed or color out supporting our rights. I have absolutely no issue with it/them.

  3. I’m sick of people trying to make unrelated events racist.
Yes, there are more white people than black in america. That means there are more white shooters than black ones.
Every time I go to the pistol range there are people of different races there having a fun afternoon. Saying that the color of someone’s skin makes a difference in their racially unrelated political protest is a racist claim.

    • I remember in the last video of the Huey P Newton Gun Club(the video is posted in one of the articles above), they were chanting Black Power. While I am happy when ANY American who OCs does it without any problems or horrible photo ops, does the marchers here shouting obviously race related things not change the intent of their protest?

The 2A applies to everyone, from Black Panther to Klansman and you and me in between.
“I may not agree with what they say, but I will defend their right to say it with my life.”

      • I don’t care if they are shouting “down with whitey! “. They are within thier Rights unless and until they commit a crime. We cannot pick and choose the rights we support – we either support freedom, or we don’t.

        • Bullsh@t. So-called “hate speech” is exactly what the First Amendment was written for. Popular speech needs no protection.

        • The right to assemble and petition for grievances is not hate speech. You think hate is protected? Go to the White House and yell that you want to kill Obama. See if you have that right. You don’t. Hate speech is a threat. Not a protest. You have the right to protest but you have no right to threaten anyone. “Down with whitey” is a threat.

        • @Michael — Hate speech is absolutely protected.

This, ironically enough, comes from the American “Civil Liberties” Union (which is also ironically very anti-gun).

          https://www.aclu.org/free-speech/hate-speech-campus

This comes from my backyard, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (the same city also ironically enough recently lost its bid to keep in place highly illegal anti-gun ordinances regarding concealed carry).

          http://www.unc.edu/courses/2010spring/law/357c/001/HateSpeech/Legality.html

There is a clear difference between hate speech and criminal threats, which you completely failed to demonstrate in your absolutely absurd challenge to yell death threats at Obama. That’s exactly akin to the whole “yell fire in a theater” trope, which has in fact long ago been debunked three ways to Sunday. You can yell fire in a theater, so long as it doesn’t induce a panic. Let’s not fall into the common trap of using (very clearly) False Comparisons as those ass-backward fascist gun-grabbers always do.

“Going Armed to the Terror of The Public” is a specific charge spelled out in North Carolina State Statutes, and is echoed in the laws of many other states as well. The burden would absolutely be on the plaintiff to prove intent on the part of the defendant that they were out to threaten people with physical violence, i.e. to cause terror.

        • Hate speech is a “true threat”. True threats are not protected. If there is no true threat then it is just political speech and not hate speech. The Supreme Court is very vague on a lot of these cases but what I took from my reading is that if someone commits a violent act following what a speaker suggested, then whether that speech was a true threat or not becomes a true threat based on the fulfillment of the directions suggested by the speaker.
I think our disagreement is based on my personal definition of hate speech. When a New Black Panther says “kill white babies” or when an Imam says “behead the infidels”, I take that as a true threat and that is what I call hate speech. When the Westboro Baptist idiots say “God hates fags”, I don’t see that as a threat therefore I call that ignorant speech and not hate speech. The Supreme Court has an opinion and I have mine.

        • Hate Speech is protected. Years ago, I had to represent a PWT trailer type in a civil suit (police brutality) b/c I was assigned by a federal judge. He repeatedly said he hated ni**ers and Jews. There was me (associate) and the Jewish partner. after the trial, he said he had the best representation ever. the associate on the other side asked how I could represent someone like my client, and I suggested my fellow peon re-read the oath he took when he got sworn in. . . The constitution means what it says and if you can’t follow it, you should not be in this profession.

        • I’m from Canada, where a Human Rights Tribunal decided that quoting the a Bible re homosexuality was “hate speech”, to be banned. I’m sure that for Ms Watts 90% of the content of this site is hate speech which should be banned.

        • “Hate speech” is an undefined and mostly undefinable term — a Trojan horse the progressives hope will give them a way to manipulate the First Amendment to their liking.

The only time when speech is punishable is when it directly incites criminal harm (theoretically…if you’re Al Sharpton, you get famous).

    • The funny thing about the race claim is that it is a bogus argument. I am “white”, as the progressives should tell me, but I am also Native-American. See, my ancestors were ahead of the curve: They had relationships that spanned the boundaries of race. I am not alone, though. I have found that most people who are light skinned are of mixed races. It is completely insane for anyone to believe that just because a person is white that they must be a racist.

It’s like a reverse Streisand effect: the more you try to suppress something, and the more obviously hypocritical/biased you are about it, the more it sticks out like the outline of a sore thumb.

    • Oh, I don’t know, I’m sure there’s plenty of white, gun-toting fans of Walter White or Tony Montana.. And plenty watch the NFL, which has some rapists too…

      • If you actually watched Breaking Bad, you know that nobody would really want to be Walter White, or even Heisenberg, for that matter. Way too much trouble ensued. Gus, on the other hand, was mostly doing it right, until he wasn’t.

      • So black people idolize a real murder, rapist, drug dealer, and racist white hater and your argument is that there is a white person out there who idolizes a fictional character. Strange way of thinking. I guess you have a need to hate white people and fiction is the same as reality. It is the same for those gun grabbers whose knowledge of guns comes from Hollywood and TV.

        • Oliver North is a drug dealer and murderer, yet I’ll bet that you ignore those details in your adoration of him.

        • Such ignorance…. Here’s a good example from my neck of the woods:

          http://gunguynextdoor.blogspot.com/2011/06/heres-up-to-date-fb-postings-of.html

NOTE: Posts in screenshots in link do a bit of swearing, and seem to be devoid of any internationally recognized language syntax.

          Short summary:
          1. 2 (White) crackheads jump a guy at a gas station
          2. 1 crackhead gets shot as the victim is a CHL holder.
          3. Friends of crackhead are all on facebook making threats toward the victim and talking like the victim should have just rolled over and taken it.

My point, of course, is that this has nothing to do with race. It happens in poorer/uneducated areas.

        • “It happens in poorer/uneducated areas.” No, it happens everywhere crack/methheads are, which is everywhere.

    • “The big difference is that white gun owners don’t idolize a rapist, drug dealer, and murder.” Al Gore doesn’t actually build iPhones but he sits on Apple’s board of directors. Eminem….

  5. No, black folks open carrying are not public enemy No. 1 BUT I will NOT fall for what every 2A preacher is preaching: THAT ALL WHO OWN AND CARRY GUNS ARE MY FRIENDS.

A group that names itself after a murderous communist street thug with a talent for speaking to crowds and organizing other worthless thugs is not going to be the kind of folks I hang with. IT VIOLATES THE PRIME DIRECTIVE. Don’t do stupid things with stupid people in stupid places.

Why in gods name are we supposed to see common bonds with murders and criminals and communists? Folks perfectly willing to be the counterpart to the KKK? Are we supposed to also bond with perverts and deviants next? Can’t wait for you to stick up for the NAMBLA gun club post next.

    • The question is really this: do my feels of unease trump others rights? And if so, am I willing to sacrifice MY rights on the altar of my feels?

Because anyone who’s dedicated a single little gray cell to retaining knowledge of history could tell you that suppressing others’ liberties for your feels leads inevitably to increasing the size, scope and power of government over your life, and that always inevitably backfires.

Governor Reagan signing gun control laws in response to Black Panther marches is the most clear, blatant and obvious example of this. GCA1968 is a result of feels trumping rights, scaled up. Do you really want that? If so, you’re a statist scum who should spontaneously die of an aneurysm.

      • Tell your nonsense to the Jews of Germany who right up until they got pushed into the cattle cars didn’t see their mortal enemy. You will support communists who will destroy all of your rights. They will do it on their schedule and trample over your dead body on the way to power.

        • You mean, the Jews that allowed themselves to be disarmed by Weimar, then Nazi governments, without a fight?

You actually damage your OWN case when you Godwin.

        • How about when the communists took over the American union movement ? Read a little about Alinsky

        • @Tommy- How about reading a little BY Alinsky?

Alinsky, you magnificent bastard! I READ YOUR BOOK!

    • “A group that names itself after a murderous communist street thug with a talent for speaking to crowds and organizing other worthless thugs is not going to be the kind of folks I hang with.” – “Communist street thug?” Really? Propaganda is a beautiful thing. Sheeple will believe anything. History… HIStory abides by the golden rule. Those with the gold makes the rules, even when it means molding common perception. When the Indians fought back against their oppressors they were called savages, but the oppressors were never called killers or mass murderers. The oppressors were deemed conquerors.

      • So you claim that history is worthless, then substitute your own version and claim that it is truth?

There were plenty of people who called people who killed off American Indians “savages”.

Just remember that the pre-Columbian peoples of the Americas were very good at killing off each other and oppressing and enslaving each other long before the Europeans appeared on the scene.

Your selective version of history to promote an agenda is laughable.

    • +1 Tommy. I don’t support the KKK, neo-nazi a##holes OR racist black separatists. We do get to pick and choose those who we support…and I’m sure the Huey Newton clubbers get a chuckle out your support. ‘MURICA

      • Wrong, as a cursory perusal of history illuminates. Oppose a basic human right for one, whether it be free speech, self defense, free association, etc., and you oppose it for all, including yourself. Because when enough people feel like you, laws diminishing your OWN liberty are the historically inevitable result. And of course it’s far harder to claw back a freedom lost than it is to be mindful and circumspect in preserving it in the first place.

  6. Blatant attempt to get White people nervous about Black people carrying guns. I welcome ALL LAWFUL GUNOWNERS to carry in the manner they see fit!

  7. Yeah… I can give a shit less what color an open carrier’s skin is.

All the antis can go pound sand with their silly projectionist bullshit.

  8. Open Carry Texas and everyone like them is (for the gun community) public enemy #1 because they do more to make people hate gun owners than almost anything else they could do short of shooting up a school or mall. Race isn’t my issue: walking around in low ready with an AR-15/AK-47 with a chambered round is. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should, and Open Carry Texas’s stance of “conditioning the people to accept it” (i.e. poke the public in the eye until they don’t feel it any more) is nothing short of saying “screw you”. Massad Ayoob is against that type of behavior, and that speaks volumes.

However, yes: if someone thinks a black guy is public enemy #1 but a white guy in the same situation is a “defender of freedom”, the person who behaves this way is racist. Race should never have anything to do with gun rights or advocating gun rights.

    • “Open Carry Texas and everyone like them is (for the gun community) public enemy #1”

I’m calling BS on this comment and you in general. You always bring this crap up, and I think you are a shill.

“Race isn’t my issue: walking around in low ready with an AR-15/AK-47 with a chambered round is. “

So, genius, how many OC-ers in those pictures above are carrying “low ready with a chambered round?”

Looking at the example shown here…

      http://www.everycitizenasoldier.org/id16.html

I’d say you discredit yourself completely.

I think the MDA Twitter page would be more to your liking….you know, the whole “I think I have the right to tell everyone else every minute aspect of their lives” mentality you seem to have will fit right in over there.

      • The position he’s calling “low ready” is called “Patrol ready” by that website. there’s a lot of back and forth about what positions are called what by which organization and on what ranges. At one point, the USMC called that the “Tactical” carry, and it’s generally used when you need to be ready at a moment’s notice to shoot something. The point is, that a person carrying like the pics he’s seen (I’ve seen ’em too) is not “Carrying a rifle in the off chance that he might need it” he’s carrying a rifle as if he expects to need it at any moment.

Just pump your brakes and ask yourself “What would my impression be if I saw a pair of police officers walking down the street like that?”

I think you or I would pick a different street to be on and you damn well know it.

  9. “Whites walking down Main Street with an AK-47 are defenders of American values; a black man doing the same thing is Public Enemy No. 1”

Silly peeples people with aks are the enemy, its that durn evil commie gun! Now if they were carrying an ar-15, a 1911 and an apple pie at a baseball game they would be defending our values!

  10. Are Black People Carrying Guns Public Enemy No. 1?

If they are carrying them through my window, then yes. The same applies to white people.

  11. Liberal college professor builds a hell of a straw man in assuming that all of us who are pro gun are anti – blacks with guns.

Not so. Our best spokesman is Colion Noir, and he is a black man. The Liberals are still scared of black people with guns and are projecting it on us. Remember, the heart of gun control, marijuana prohibition, and planned parenthood was to suppress the black population… And were all liberal policies.

    • The Liberals are still scared of black people with guns and are projecting it on us.

      Yep.

They’re scared because nothing says “I can fend for myself” like someone exercising their natural, civil and Constitutional rights.

    • Gun grabbers, especially black gun grabbers, don’t care that there is one black man who supports the Second Amendment. Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams support the free market, but blacks today are less free market than any other group. Having one black guy will not protect you from the anti-white racists when they come for you and your family. Better to realize that whether it is Huey Newton or Barack Hussein Obama, blacks are out for you and your guns. And Colin won’t save you.

  12. I’m pretty sure I’m not racist, because if I hear someone yell ‘Allahhu Akbar’ I’m going to shoot him no matter what color he is.

  13. Black people carrying guns are not public enemy number one for sure. As for the Huey Newton Gun Club? Lets see you guys go hang out with this group and see if they offer you the same welcome arms that you do them. Maybe they a great bunch of folks but if they have ties to the Black Panthers, I have no use for them.
    Flame away.

    • “Not exactly what you would expect if a group of public enemies no. 1 sat down in a restaurant with a group of police officers.”

Huey Newton was a jackass, and his supporters are america-hating, white-hating, tolerant of drug dealing sc*mbags.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huey_P._Newton

The 2nd Amendment was partially designed BECAUSE of jerks like them.

THEY think Obama is TOO PRO AMERICA.

      • Wow, the wikipedia link seems to support everything EXCEPT what you wrote. Seems like Newton was working on a Ph.D. when he killed a cop in self-defense in 1967 when he was pulled over…. 1967… Let’s not pretend to not know what race relations in America were in 1967. People have the right to defend themselves, even from cops. He wasn’t tolerant of drug dealing scumbag as you posted and pioneered a Free Breakfast Program for kids. You picked the wrong link to make your point.

        • The link contains a section titled “Allegations of Violence”, I somehow dont think a peaceful person not out to harm others might have this section in their wikipedia. Either way, we cannot assume that anything named after said person is good OR bad. Pretending he is a saint is equally as much a fallacy as pretending a person was 100% evil.

Everything should be taken with a grain of salt, look at the actions of individuals and judge accordingly, no more no less.

        • Huey Newton was a drug dealing racist cop killer. The Black Panthers were a drug gang that adopted Communist politics and terror. They shot rival drug dealers, white people, and cops. If you think the Huey Newton Gun Club is about the 2nd Amendment, then you are in denial.

    • Why in the hell would they have to accept anyone with open arms? Just as they retain the rights of free speech and bearing arms, they retain freedom of association. We don’t give up our right to choose those with whom we associate because we bear arms and speak. There is no obligation to accept you, me, or anyone else into their group.

      • Actually, for quite some time the government has had the power to compel people to associate and do business with people they have the right to not associate or do business with by their own choice.

      • True John; The KKK has the same right to not accept blacks, Hispanics or Jews in their ranks, just as the Black Panthers and the Huey P. Newton Gun Club has the right to not accept whites, Hispanics or Jews in theirs.

Both of these groups are the epitome of racism, bigotry and hate, simply based on skin color or ethnicity. They are some of the expressions of all of the intolerance and hate that has led to the mass slaughter of countless millions over the centuries.

This type of behavior is a emblematic of the hate they hold for themselves; we do unto others what we do to ourselves. (my version). If a person can hate another simply because they look different, it’s a sign of the sickness, of the self-hate of their soul and their heart. Christ was here to show us that love knows no skin color. Martin Luther King said it correctly when he said to judge a person by the content of their character and not their color of their skin.

I’ll defend the right of people to show the world the true state of their soul and of their heart; as long as they respect the right of others to do the same. Until they don’t.

  14. We are on the same side.
I’ve shot with the Pink Pistols (and been out-shot by them). I’d love to shoot with these guys.
Those of you who don’t like the GOP (which includes me), imagine a political party that included LGTBQ, NASCAR fans, urban blacks, NRA members, and more, based on the premise that the natural, civil and constitutional rights of the people were being trampled by a socialist central government. We don’t have to agree on everything…just the important stuff.

      • I’m assuming you mean all blacks and all homosexuals hate me for my guns and the free enterprise system.

What’s odd is how many I’ve met that support gun ownership and free enterprise.

Maybe they’re just doing that to lull me into a false sense of security.

Do you think it’s part of their plan for world domination?

    • Thank you for OCing, sir! I’m coming around to the opinion that it is a duty of all gun owners to do so at least every now and then. The protection of the Liberty, not only the RKBA, requires ubiqutous displays of people bearing arms across this nation regularly, IMHO.

  15. Everyone is welcome and invited to the club: guys, girls, gays, democrats, blacks/whites and every shade in between. You are all our brothers and sisters in arms. Get your gun and protect your rights.

  16. A question like that is like asking should white people be in the military? As many white guys as I’ve seen pointing rifles at one another and horse playing in uniform, a ignorant thing like saying this or that race shouldn’t own or carry a weapon of any kind is ludicrous!!!! Every man/woman of every kind deserves to carry a weapon…… As long as they keep in mind the responsibility of their actions with it!!!!! I fought for this country for this and many other reasons….. As an armed force person, civilian, ex military personnel, etc we fight for the right to be an American. Practicing our American rights and standing for what you believe in makes you a great individual……

  17. “Gallagher says he’s not accusing every white person who buys a gun of being a racist; he’s accusing them of being human, of unconsciously absorbing stereotypical attitudes about black men and violence that are as old as America itself.”

That’s odd; seeing as where I live (northern Georgia a few hours outside of ATL) I’ve had closer run-ins and am far more concerned with the shockingly large number of aggressive, violence-prone, white meth addicts. Hell, the only DGUs I’ve been in some sort of proximity too (one in the parking lot at work, one that a teacher I had in high school experienced; no shots fired and bad guys arrested in both cases) involved, you guessed it, white dudes hopped up on meth. Same reason both the local range owner (a black dude) and most of his black patrons carry (though they also have to worry about the fact that said aggressive meth heads tend to be somewhat racist). So yeah, not really worried about “black men and violence” when it comes to carrying. It’s all about the Breaking Bad extras around here.

  18. Gun grabbers, especially black gun grabbers, don’t care that there is one black man who supports the Second Amendment.

  19. I am going to shock the living hell out of a few people here by admitting to going shooting with Black Muslims. And Black Christians. And with two White, Liberal college profs.

The black muslims I am friends with are from Ethiopia and they came to America to escape muslim terrorism in the 70s. They are absolutely appalled by what is going on in America today.

The college teachers I met through work, and after a string of rapes/assaults on the campus she works on I taught her firearms handling and safety, Roger did not need that since he is a Marine who did 2 tours in VN. They met through me and have been married 10 years now.

As for Dave and his wife, I met them through my kids school activities, he is a Union electrician and Linda is one of those dreaded Stay At Home Moms. Oh, the horror.

All of these folks carry concealed and a few carry open on occasion. So, who you should worry or not worry about having guns really should be judged on a case by case basis.

  20. I’m just trying to get a little bit of information on how mentally challenged the average gun owner is. First and only question, do the majority of you guys identify as libertarian?

    • I used to, until I gained, through long and difficult practical experience, an understanding of how much it empowered the statists.

Consistently trading “pretty good” for “pretty bad” in an attempt to get “perfect” showed me how futile the Libertarian Party was.

Numerous elections where the margin of defeat for the reasonably freedom prone Republican by the Statist Democrat occurred because of freedom loving people voting Libertarian cured me of that.

Unfortunately, Libertarians have just become a way to split the pro-freedom vote.

Energy directed to promoting freedom is best spent building the new media. The old media is the worst enemy that freedom has.

    • So Cameron, you judge people based only on their political persuasion, and everyone who disagrees with you is “mentally challenged.” What an open-minded and intelligent position you hold. Not a hint of prejudice or intolerance there.

You liberals and progressives always prattle on about how wonderful, intelligent, and tolerant you are. You try to ascribe intolerance and bigotry to all who oppose you. I’m always thankful for people like you who reveal that progressives are just as close-minded and intolerant as you accuse others of being.

        • “I tolerate you people, I just don’t like you.”

That’s called bigotry. You don’t even know me, but you dislike me because I belong to a particular group. Thanks for proving my point.

        • It’s possible to disagree with somebody without disliking them. I have many anti gun friends. I don’t go around calling them “mentally challenged.” For that matter, progressives have started a campaign to stop using “mentally challenged” as an insult because it offends people who have actual disabilities.

It’s your side that typically touts itself as open-minded, fair, and accepting of others’ beliefs. On these points you claim moral superiority over your ideological opponents, yet posts like yours show us that this is an empty claim.

  21. “Gallagher says he’s not accusing every white person who buys a gun of being a racist; he’s accusing them of being human, of unconsciously absorbing stereotypical attitudes about black men and violence that are as old as America itself.”

Translation: every white gun owner is a racist. They just don’t know it. But since only racists own guns, guns = bad. It’s the same tired progressive tactic of trying to brand things they don’t like as racist in order to make them seem evil.

Gallagher would probably be shocked by my gun club. It’s located in a rural white area, yet we have many black members. We even have a black board member, and all members put in a lot of volunteer hours. Clearly our black members see something of value that they are contributing their time to. I wonder what they would say if you told them that their white fellow club members are secretly racists and afraid of them and their guns. I’m guessing they would laugh.

  22. I have no problem with lawful black gun owners. The Black community needs to be armed and well organized. Many blacks have trust issues with the police. I cannot say I blame the black community for their issues with law enforcement. if blacks do the right thing and cooperate with police they are left alone to be targeted by gangs. If blacks are armed and organized there would be a shield in the community that would protect all law abiding black citizens.

  23. Black people carrying guns? I have no problem with that at all.

Black people voting for people who are against anyone (black, white, other) owning (much less carrying) guns? Now I have a problem.

The cognitive dissonance in the American black community during the Obama administration beggars belief. No POTUS in my lifetime has done more to screw over the black community in law, moral standards (blacks are the racial cohort most opposed to same-sex marriage and other issues the Democrats are now hawking), employment loses and subsequent job prospects, household wealth, etc… not to mention race relations.

But the black community still supports Obama and the DNC in near lock-step.

So I’d ask the above individuals: “OK, I support your right to pack a gun. Do you actually support your own right to own and pack a gun?”

  24. Amazing how they simply didn’t think about the Huey P. Newton Gun Club open carry. Media didn’t even post much on it. I am calling mass media racist! There I said it!

  25. For those not familiar with the Huey P Newton Gun Club in the Dallas area, they are a bunch of broke ass losers affiliated with the New Black Panther Party and united by the delusional dream of angry bruthas and sistas rising up in revolution to kill whitey. As ominous and menacing as they want to be, the rag tag bunch are as comical as they are pathetic. They tend to arm themselves with any junk rifle that is cheap, rimfire AR replica’s are real popular with this crew.
