Biden, after all, has repeatedly demonstrated that he has zero comprehension of either the purpose or importance of the Second Amendment. Whether your sons are “hunters” or not is completely irrelevant in this conversation. And just as “yelling fire” is protected by the Constitution, so is owning an “AR-14.”

(Let’s also take a moment to note that Biden is such a champion of the Second Amendment that not only can’t he get rudimentary gun facts right, almost everything he says on the matter is fatuous. A few week ago he was telling a cheering crowd that 150 million Americans had been murdered on the streets of the United States by firearms since 2007. This was about week after his silly rant noting that revolutionary AK-47-wielding Americans would be slaughtered by F-15s.)

The man in the video — whose name I wish I knew — is right. Biden supports every single serious national effort to restrict gun rights, all of them part of a concerted effort to incrementally terminate civilian gun ownership in the United States. It’s all right there on his campaign issues page. When CNN asked Biden what he had to say to gun owners who claimed that “a Biden Administration means they’re going to come for my guns,” he answered, “Bingo, you’re right if you have an assault weapon.”

        Relaxing ATF regulations on NFA items like machine guns and silencers by removing the requirement for approval from the local CLEO makes it much easier for citizens to own machine guns, silencers, etc.

        And, Obama’s administration approved both the arm brace for all the SBR fans and bump stocks, the poor man’s machine gun.

        And the capstone of Barack Hussein Obama’s expansion of American gun rights was the abolishment of the Reagan era prohibition against carrying firearms on federal lands. Obama signed into law the Bill making it legal for citizens to carry firearms on hundreds of thousands of acres of federal lands.

        After three years, I’m still waiting on Donald Trump to expand American gun rights… Crickets.

        Well, he did ban bump stocks and publicly support red flag laws. “Let’s just take the guns first and worry about the courts later… “

          Fact is, Donald Trump has not only not expand the gun rights, he has taken right away from American citizens. Hundreds of thousands of American citizens who own bump stocks have now become felons.

He tried for universal background checks, made gunsmiths the equivalent of gun manufacturers, made it where if you needed help as a disabled veteran, you lost your gun rights, his BATFE tried to ban M855 ammunition, etc…but Trump bans bump stocks and that is a big thing to you.

      • I also believe Trump will win bigger in November, taking the electoral college vote and the popular vote. Many Black, Brown and other groups that were on the fence last election have seen such positive change in their lives and in the American economy that people are going to vote Trump behind the curtain even if some of their friends would ridicule them if they knew. The pollsters continually forget about women who work, shoot and have somewhat conservative values and they pollsters have no way of accurately garnering good information about our military and their voting preferences. When I watch young conservative meetings on college campuses cheering to conservative speakers while unwashed, goofy headed ANTIFA types try as hard as they can, but consistently failing to make any valid points or headway I know that those meetings/gatherings influences people who are still deciding.

      Granted, the crowd and Biden’s bodyguards would have stepped in had the questioner become physical, but there’s nothing anyone could do if he were a crazy man and threw that first punch. Biden put his mug out there, vulnerable to that potential. It’s not much, but it’s something, and still much more than Obama could pull off.

    What should scare us is that so many Americans are voting for him (and Sanders). Too many people are getting brainwashed by the media nd colleges about the Second Amendment and firearms in general. They look at reality but don’t see it. Every large city in America is a crime haven and all have heavily restricted gun laws. But they are blind to it.

    If Biden gets the Democratic nod, I worry about who his vice president will be. How long can he remain in … The Thing…with his mind the way it is.

  12. Remember how Bernie was way ahead only a couple of weeks ago, and the DNC was scared stiff of the possibility of a Sanders-vs-Trump showdown in November that would be a sure loss for the Dems? Interesting how suddenly Biden is getting all these delegates now and performing 10x better than he was before. Sanders was screwed by the DNC in 2016 (Hillary) and is likely getting shafted again in 2020 (Biden).

  13. Anyone who lives in Delaware know if it has a red flag law? Mental Joe has threatened and challenged to fight several people so far on the campaign trail. He also claims to own shotguns. If there is a red flag law someone should file against Mental Joe and then make sure the local media finds out as well as the NRA. Realistically his wife in my opinion should be charged with elder abuse for going along with his nonsense and allowing him to campaign.

  14. AR14 – Interesting concept. A short-stroke piston, over-engineered in steel, 7.62 x 51, heavy fiberglass or oil-soaked walnut stock, no pistol grip, cotton sling, no provision for a rail or vertical “thingies”, difficult to mount a scope to…hmmm.

    The perfect Democrat designed rifle…it fits all their (current) demands for what a rifle should be.

    Biden is trying to claim a similar stance on the Second Amendment: that it protects most firearms and yet it does not protect all firearms. Of course that would mean the Second Amendment only protects whatever classes of firearms that the Ruling Class declares as protected, and all other classes of “dangerous” firearms (such as AR-15s) are unprotected.

    That is problematic because it is not a direct analog to the First Amendment. The reason that the First Amendment does not protect slander or yelling “Fire!” (when there is no fire) is because such statements are demonstrably false and harm people.

    Owning and possessing “dangerous” firearms does not harm anyone. And prohibiting their ownership and possession simply because the owner/possessor could harm someone is no more righteous than requiring that everyone put on a muzzle before entering a theater since they could yell “Fire!” when there is no fire.

    • Fun fact, the “yelling fire” standard has been overturned for about half a century. The current standard is the known likelihood of IMMINENT harmful acts resulting from the speech. Aka, the speech itself is not illegal, it’s the CONSEQUENCES of the speech. As such, no gun itself should be illegal, just the consequence of using it for illegal purposes. Fortunately, we still have murder, assault, and reckless endangerment statutes on the books.

    The most recent FBI crime stats show that more people were killed in 2017 with hammers and clubs than were killed with rifles of any kind.
    • 467 people were killed with “blunt objects (hammers, clubs, etc.) while
    • 403 were killed with rifles.
    And it must be noted that the category of “rifles” used by the FBI includes bolt action, pump action, single shot, and semi-automatic, as well as those the left describes as “assault weapons.” This means only a percentage of the 403 deaths attributed to “rifles” would have been carried out with an “assault weapon.” So the gap between the number of persons beaten to death with hammers and clubs verses those killed with “assault weapons” would be even greater than the gap between those who died in a hammer/club attack versus those who died being shot with “rifles” of any kind.

    2017 crime figures showed
    • 1,591 people were killed with “knives or cutting instruments” while
    • 403 were killed with “rifles.” This means nearly four times as many people were stabbed to death as were killed with any kind of rifle.
