man gun testosterone life death

File this under great moments in leftist anti-gun sexist projection:

When a man has a gun, he literally holds the power of life and death in his hand. That kind of power is extraordinarily seductive.

With a gun in his hand, a man can look around a room, a building, or a public area and specifically identify who will instantaneously die and whom he will allow to live. It’s a power that traditionally has only been held by doctors, priests, police and soldiers.

The power over life and death is greater and more intoxicating than any other power; it’s one of the reasons why some men are specifically drawn to these professions and historically have tried to regulate them to be male-only.

  1. With a sword in his hand, a man can look around a room, a building, or a public area and specifically identify who will instantaneously die and whom he will allow to live.

    • 😂In his sexist hoplophobic rant, did he accidentally make a great argument for why being pro gun is also pro women’s rights?

  2. Project much?

🎶 I want to kill, kill, kill. Eat dead burnt bodies. I said kill, kill, KILL! (Apologies to Arlo Guthrie.)

    • Damn dude, brings back memories. Saw Arlo as a young fella at a folk festival on the Hudson, decades ago. That boy could sing and tell a tale! Now he’s a grandpa and I’m more or less the same.

      • “Now he’s a grandpa and I’m more or less the same.”

Did he escape his dad’s disease? And the children and grandchildren? He’s been radio silent for so long, thought he might have contracted the disease.

  3. So what he is saying is that the power to, “let live” should be left in the hands of doctors, police and soldiers? First of all police do not have a duty to put their lives I’m danger to save anyone as has been shown on TV and backed up in court cases. Soldiers shouldnt6be operating on US soil and doctors do have a duty to save lives. Where do these hacks get these ideas from and how are they allowed to publish this shit???? Doctors kill 250,000 people each year due to mistakes. That’s over 20% of doctors and I see that as problem. The drug industry and doctors are killing people and no one cares…

    • Because they believe in their little black heart of hearts that it’s inevitable that they will control the police and military. They want their armed enforcers to be maximally effective in imposing their will on the smelly Walmart people.

    • No…he’s saying the Power to Kill should be in the hands of oversized thugs and mobs of undersized thugs. Decent folks should submit to their fate meekly.

  4. With my hands of the wheel of a car I can look around the street and decide who I want to kill and who I want to let live. These people are ridiculous.

  5. “…It’s a power that traditionally has only been held by”

There is a lot wrong with Mrs. Hartmann’s word soup but this one is the most confusing….. I don’t understand the ‘traditionally’ qualifier. Traditionally as in the last thirty years? The last hundred years?

The author doesn’t seem to know that firearms have been around for several hundred years now and all the time before that was blades, sharp sticks, and big rocks. The power to wield weapons has been around since pretty much the first time our species stood upright. And probably longer than that if you want to be technical about it.

    • “Through a Glass, Darkly”
      General George S. Patton, Jr.

Through the travail of the ages,
Midst the pomp and toil of war,
I have fought and strove and perished
      Countless times upon this star.

In the form of many people
      In all panoplies of time
Have I seen the luring vision
      Of the Victory Maid, sublime.

I have battled for fresh mammoth,
I have warred for pastures new,
I have listed to the whispers
When the race trek instinct grew.

I have known the call to battle
      In each changeless changing shape
From the high souled voice of conscience
To the beastly lust for rape.

I have sinned and I have suffered,
      Played the hero and the knave;
Fought for belly, shame, or country,
And for each have found a grave.

      I cannot name my battles
For the visions are not clear,
Yet, I see the twisted faces
And I feel the rending spear.

      Perhaps I stabbed our Savior
      In His sacred helpless side.
Yet, I’ve called His name in blessing
      When after times I died.

In the dimness of the shadows
      Where we hairy heathens warred,
      I can taste in thought the lifeblood;
We used teeth before the sword.

      While in later clearer vision
I can sense the coppery sweat,
Feel the pikes grow wet and slippery
      When our Phalanx, Cyrus met.

Hear the rattle of the harness
Where the Persian darts bounced clear,
See their chariots wheel in panic
      From the Hoplite’s leveled spear.

See the goal grow monthly longer,
Reaching for the walls of Tyre.
Hear the crash of tons of granite,
      Smell the quenchless eastern fire.

Still more clearly as a Roman,
Can I see the Legion close,
As our third rank moved in forward
And the short sword found our foes.

Once again I feel the anguish
      Of that blistering treeless plain
When the Parthian showered death bolts,
And our discipline was in vain.

      I remember all the suffering
Of those arrows in my neck.
Yet, I stabbed a grinning savage
As I died upon my back.

Once again I smell the heat sparks
When my Flemish plate gave way
And the lance ripped through my entrails
As on Crecy’s field I lay.

      In the windless, blinding stillness
      Of the glittering tropic sea
I can see the bubbles rising
Where we set the captives free.

Midst the spume of half a tempest
I have heard the bulwarks go
When the crashing, point blank round shot
      Sent destruction to our foe.

I have fought with gun and cutlass
On the red and slippery deck
With all Hell aflame within me
And a rope around my neck.

And still later as a General
      Have I galloped with Murat
When we laughed at death and numbers
      Trusting in the Emperor’s Star.

Till at last our star faded,
And we shouted to our doom
Where the sunken road of Ohein
Closed us in it’s quivering gloom.

So but now with Tanks a’clatter
Have I waddled on the foe
      Belching death at twenty paces,
By the star shell’s ghastly glow.

So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
      Many names, but always me.

And I see not in my blindness
What the objects were I wrought,
But as God rules o’er our bickerings
It was through His will I fought.

      So forever in the future,
Shall I battle as of yore,
Dying to be born a fighter,
But to die again, once more.

        • Not to interrupt, BUT 🙂
          My two guesses:
I have battled for fresh mammoth,
I have warred for pastures new,
I have listed to the whispers
When the race trek instinct grew.
          and:
In the dimness of the shadows
          Where we hairy heathens warred,
          I can taste in thought the lifeblood;
We used teeth before the sword.

          And my favorite is:
          So forever in the future,
Shall I battle as of yore,
Dying to be born a fighter,
But to die again, once more.
That stanza always makes the hair on my neck stand straight up….

      • Patton was a prolific “poet”. You picked one of my favorites. So glad they used a stanza in the movie. He was an amazing character (as were so many of his era). His grandson Robert H. released a book in 1994, titled “The Patton Family”. Along with the event history, the grandson gives a glimpse into the officer life that is quite startling. Patton was an Olypian, officers could afford horses, personalized uniforms were allowed.

It was also jarring to learn “Old Blood and Guts” learned to read around twelve years old, was a poor speller, and home-schooled.

Anyway, if you have not already read the book, I highly recommend it.

        A preview:
        https://www.nytimes.com/1994/06/12/nyregion/the-patton-family-an-intimate-portrait.html

        • I haven’t read the book, but will surely do so now. There are some similarities between the Patton family and my own ancestors/family ( although not anywhere near as famous). Mostly to do with the Revolution and subsequent wars participation. Thank you for the NYT link. 🙂

        • An excellent, obscure book — The Patton Mind — is about the systems and habits he used to train himself into his chosen role. Great advice for cultivating intentional excellence. Worth the work to find.

  6. Instantaneously? I don’t think that word means what he thinks it does…

Since when can a doctor or priest kill (or heal) at will, instantaneously from across “a room, a building, or a public area” ??

What a bunch of emotional drivel.

  7. Can he show a brain wave study. Steve Hartman is a successful talk show host but I didn’t know he had a PHD.

  8. This person needs some serious help if he thinks this is the way guns work, and this is the role of doctors, soldiers and police.

And this person also has the vote. (Assuming he’s not a convicted felon, etc.) How’s that for disturbing?

  9. This piece comes from Salon.com (a hard-left progressive website) and the author is a talk show host who just happens to write and who is, apparently, a pop psychologist. ‘Nuff said.

  10. It’s the people on the LEFT who are the one’s that are mass killing. They are the one’s that need help!

    • They go for Soy Boys because they don’t have to work at getting their way. They always win by default. Also because in such relationships she openly holds all the power instead of well actually holding all the power because we’ll all eventually say yes dear and do it after a long enough dry spell.

  11. The writer is conveniently overlooking that most doctors, priest, police, and soldiers are men who are drawn to the professions because of their ability, not because of a desire to have power.

    • True. If you ever joined the military, police, or medical profession for the power to kill at will you WILL be sorely disappointed.

    • “When a man holds Horse Shit, he literally holds the power of life and death in his hand. That kind of power is extraordinarily seductive.”

Thank you for the translation, this make sense to me now.

  12. I suppose it is a bit of a rush for those who have been utterly insignificant their entire lives up until that point, sort of like the first time you held more than 100$ in your hand. “Holy crap, I could *do* something right now, for the first time ever!” The feeling of real human agency, versus sleep-walking through life. Then you realize within a few seconds that it’s just echoes of childlike wonder that you felt as a kid, that the ‘power’ you possess still isn’t all that significant in the grand scheme of things, you finally grow up in a way you should have decades earlier as a young person, and you then turn your focus to using this newfound power/ability to do things that need to be done. For normal, healthy adults, this is a desire to become prepared for defense or to develop skills for sport; for abnormal sociopaths, they begin exploring all the terrible things they could do to others (hopefully only in their heads)

“The power of life & death is intoxicating?” Jesus, this guy talks like an omnicidal super-villian…might want to call the po-po & red-flag his ass, just to be safe. What a head-case.

  13. So that explains what happens to women’s brains when they’re piloting 2 tons of steel and aluminum through public at 70mph.

  14. I can’t speak for all concealed weapons carriers, BUT, I would be willing to bet that almost all concealed weapons carriers are MORE CAREFUL not to get into any situation or confrontation that would result in the use of deadly force.
As a concealed carrier, I am aware of my surroundings and will utilize any method to minimize the possibility of being in a confrontation. Of course, if the confrontation is unavoidable and not initiated by me, all bets are off.

    • ^^ This ^^

CCW holders are statistically safer to the public community than even law enforcement due to increased diligence. A cop can make a “bad shoot” and fall back upon the legal defense of “insufficient department training” to escape consequences. A private citizen has no such fallback.

      • True. The cost of a mistake on our part will cost us dearly. A LE employee is covered under the city’s insurance policy, until he’s fired/retired.

  15. So I checked the article, and found this nugget:
“A 2006 study published in Psychological Science by Klinesmith, Kasser and McAndrew found that men who simply handled a gun were significantly more likely to give other men a higher dose of hot sauce”
    Um what?

      • True story…I recently visited a Mexican restaurant while traveling thru a smaller town in rural Nevada. Half the customers were openly carrying their handguns in hip holsters. So I “did as they do in Rome” and strapped mine on as well. Nobody batted an eye. As I enjoyed my dinner, I mused as to how it was probably one of the very safest places to eat, and would cause a Leftist from any major metro city to go apoplectic. I sure wish I could carry like that back home.

Actually, the sight of a Lefty’s eyes bulging out would be worth the price of admission…

    • From this you can conclude that men who own guns like barbeque, clearly giving rise to the term barbecue gun!

      • I’ll agree with that!!! 🙂 Just had a BBQ Shoot here this past Sat. Attended by about 60 folks, including wives, gf’s, and little kids. 🙂 Firearms brought ranged from full auto, rifles and pistols with cans, drum magazines, and one guy brought his suppressed .338. Great fun, great food, and great people. 🙂 And guess what? Nobody got shot, no ND’s, and everyone shared what they brought without any background checks. Nobody cared if you had a carry permit or any other State permission slips, or worried about being raided by the local police. Can you guess which State?

        • My guess is Texas, but it could just as easily be here in Montana. Or Wyoming. Or some of the other non-slave States. But I’ll still go with the Lone Star State.

    • This is only a bad thing if you can’t handle hot sauce. To me, it looks like gun owners are more likely to share the good stuff.

  16. Based on my experience, I had all kinds of weird feelings about guns until I touched a real one. So these are all projections from inside a fantasy world. These people are afraid to leave that world because they imagine all kinds of horrors, but they imagine those horrors precisely because they never leave it.

  17. This is why idiots shouldn’t science.

The study Hartmann cites and is basing this projection drivel on a study that shows a 6.205 ng/dl change in testosterone after handling a gun vs handling a child’s toy.

To put that in context, among the same survey group as in that study, testosterone levels fluctuate between 750 ng/dl to 550 ng/dl depending on the time of day.

It’s less than the difference between testosterone at 8am vs 9am.

    • Something too about hot-sauce…I guess guns make us spicy, or something? What a pathetic excuse for science.

      • The hot sauce thing I could believe if the range was poorly ventilated. Gets the taste of powder soot out of your mouth.

      • God help me! I started handling guns when I was ten, love barbeque AND hot sauce (and women). Is it too late for me? So far, the only urges I’ve had are when I hear drivel like his, or see dems on the telly.

        • God help me! I started handling guns when I was ten, love barbeque AND hot sauce (and women). Is it too late for me? So far, the only urges I’ve had are when I hear drivel like his, or see dems on the telly.

          YOU CAN STILL BE SAVED…
Step 1: jump in your car, head to the nearest Emergency Room and have your testicles removed
Step 2: If you have a job designated as a MANS profession quit immediately, do not return to your place of employment, just quit.
Step 3: begin a course of massive doses of Estrogen (until a noticeable accumulation of fatty tissue occurs on your chest)
Step 4: pack up any guns in your possession larger than .22 caliber and send them to me (for immediate destruction, of course)
Step 5: buy a yoga mat and a fridge full of Tofu (throw out anything that even SAYS sauce on the label)..
Step 6: you may find that you still have a preference for women in which case you may need to have your penis removed as well, but by then the lobotomy that should have occurred somewhere between step 1 and step 4 will have rendered that useless long ago..
Now get out there and enjoy your new life free from “Toxic Masculinity” and the need to “extend” your penis with big nasty guns, loud motorcycles and fast cars, your transformation into the perfect model of the Democratic voter is now complete….. UNLESS!!…. (oh crap) you’re not WHITE are you?

  18. “Psychological projection is a defence mechanism in which the human ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others.[1] For example, a person who is habitually rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude. It incorporates blame shifting.”

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection

    • Yep, sound awake. Reminds me of politicians accusing the other side of doing exactly what THEY’RE doing. Also, calling someone racist, etc when person clearly isn’t.

  19. “Thomas Carl Hartmann is an American radio personality, author, former psychotherapist, businessman, and progressive political commentator.”

I guess he can now add “guy who doesn’t get laid so be decided to become a feminist ally writing for Salon” to that list.

Also, this is why anyone with half a brain is extremely skeptical of psychotherapists. Half of them are stupid and at least another 45% are nuts.

Also, this gem “Firing a gun, in addition to raising testosterone levels like simply handling one does, actually produces a feeling similar to intoxication… In this regard, guns can be thought of as a drug — an intoxicating, mind-altering, power-conferring drug that leads to aggression”.

That’s some comedy gold right there. Guns are meth. Fucking meth. Both are made from drain cleaner by some redneck communing with the Devil and banging his sister. And if you have a gun in your hand while playing a Def Leppard record backwards… the Antichrist appears!

But not only that, obviously this guy was a terrible psychotherapist because he doesn’t know fuck-all about how the human brain works. Yeah, you get a boost of testosterone and some other neurotransmitters that he talks about from handling a gun… for awhile. You get that from anything that’s new and somewhat nerve wracking. Everyone gets it when they learn to drive or the first time they jump out of a plane. It’s a typical response to novelty. We become more aware and slightly more tuned to pay attention to danger until we get used to the new activity or object because our brain is wired to look for potential dangers in the new experience. Then that goes away as the novelty wears off.

      • Meth-billy AR build instructions.

        Step 1: acquire AR.

Step 2: wrap with duct tape.

        Step 3: marry sister.

Step 4: jb weld accessories on gun.

Step 5: bury AR in trailer park for 3 years.

        Step 6: Remove and enjoy.

        • You forgot some steps.

Basically just watch The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia for a DIY how-to.

  20. this statement is only valid if they Compare it too automobiles with cell phones, or Automobiles with Muslims!

  21. FYI, comments are open on the linked article…

Thom Hartmann is a hack. I love the research article he linked to (the only piece of evidence in his entire article), which shows a spike in testosterone when you hand someone a gun (and likely someone who has never held one before). I can’t believe we fund science which gives us, “yeah, no shit” answers…

  22. Golly I handled my first gun at about 10…it was cool but I had no compulsion to shoot anyone. This brain-damaged author is projecting his own warped view of reality.

  23. With a truck key in his hand, a man can look around a parking lot, pedestrian mall, or a public area and specifically identify who will instantaneously die and whom he will allow to live.

  24. Holding a gun in your hand you start to feel like a free man. That is what upsets the proggies so much. Killing doesn’t bother them. They figure they will have to conduct a genocide to make a perfect world, anyway.

    • “Killing doesn’t bother them”
Sure it does that’s why they have someone else do it for them… and they will not stop at Genocide (the eradication of a particular race) anyone who dares to disagree with “far” left (communist/socialist) ideology will be deemed a threat and an enemy of the people to be executed on sight (sounds like a great movie)…

      • They will discover the more they look for class enemies, or enemies of the state, the more they keep finding. There will be so many enemies to massacre they will eventually devise an automated process for efficiency.

        • There will be so many enemies to massacre they will eventually devise an automated process for efficiency
Adolph did that for them in the 40s

  25. When I put my gun in my hand, the sensation does affect my brain, and contemplate taking action that would otherwise not be a thought. A gun in my hand makes me ask, “Where is my ammo.” And then I take action, and go looking for that box of bullets to put in my range bag.

    • As I put my gat in the holster today, I prayed “Dear Lord God, I hope absolutely nothing happens today.”

Today, I was part of the church security team protecting 550 kids, not including the student volunteers and parents. We mostly find lost kids and heal scrapes and bloody noses. Keep everyone safe.

I report to the Good Shepherd, so I dinna ken the article’s godless Leftist bent.

      • “Today, I was part of the church security team protecting 550 kids, not including the student volunteers and parents. We mostly find lost kids and heal scrapes and bloody noses. Keep everyone safe.”

        Good on ya’, mate !

  26. Gotta love the picture of Trump holding a (replica, IIRC) flintlock for this article…no bias there, lol

“This story produced by the Independent Media Institute”

IMI has Open Society Project (leftist billionaire Soros’ primary front org) as one of its primary funding streams. Such media independence.

Salon itself is propped up by cash-infusions by another pair of leftist billionaires, but at least the rag is open about its leftist bent.

Not even Soviet propaganda was this crass.

  27. The article is far more truthful than farce. Man is a viscous Naked Stinking Ape whose natural instinct is to brutalize and rape and impregnate as many women as he can before he dies. His natural instinct is to intimidate all other men apes and kill those immediately that he cannot intimidate. Its one of the reasons rich men have harems and obey no laws they can circumvent through their power and money. Powerful male apes give lip service to religion but worship no god except the god of unlimited power, revenge, blind greed and lust.

Young male apes whose naïveté and excess testosterone are easily manipulated by older Neanderthals into becoming viscous sadistic rapist storm troopers bent on violence and murder. Its the main components that have made it so easy for tyrants to raise armies for rape, pillage and conquest, the Vietnam War being a classic modern example of mass murder not seen since the Nazi gas chambers of WWII.

The most dangerous animal on the planet is the human male Naked Ape who has the intelligence to know right from wrong but totally ignores it for personal gain, lust and power. Put a weapon in his hand and he will discard it for a more power full one, a gun, and use it to get want he wants, money, sex, power or revenge. It happens every day 24 hours around the clock and 365 days a year.

The depraved Human Race worships strong leaders who excel at violence, intimidation and mass murder. They are worshiped by their mesmerized and glazed eyed followers who will tell you with a straight face that their leader is a living god on earth. Adolf Hitler and Herr Drumpf being the most popular for the mindless and the unwashed.

WELCOME TO PLANET EARTH WHOSE CREDO IS: THE REWARDS OF VIRTUE ARE COLD, ODORLESS AND TASTELESS AND NOT TO BE COMPARED TO THE BRIGHT EXCITEMENT OF SIN AND WRONG DOING. “The Devil 2019” creator of the Earth.

This sermon was brought to you by the holy rolling, apostolic 666th church of ecclesiastical Atheists who religiously follow the teachings of the worlds bibles unimpeded by the hypocrisy of organized religions who blaspheme their own teachings.. Amen! !Hallulla! and pass the guns and ammunition.

P,S, remember, the smaller a mans penis the bigger the gun he carries. Harry Callahan and Chris Kyle you have been exposed. We have now “Made your Day”.

      • The impaler part of his name is an obvious phallic reference. Vlad must feel threatened by all those big guns out there.

        • I’m a bit more concerned with those viscous Naked Stinking Apes he’s going on about. Can you even imagine the threat we face from Naked Stinking Apes that flow sluggishly about, slowly creeping up on innocent people?
Actually, I had NO idea that Naked Stinking Apes (NSA for short) came in different viscosities; Do they have different rates for cold weather, for example, so that less-viscous NSAs are for winter use and more-viscous NSAs for summer?
One can tell the level of a writer’s education based solely upon their use the word ‘viscous’ when they mean ‘vicious.’
‘Vicious.’ ‘Viscous.’ Yep, same word. . .
This dude couldn’t spell his way out of a book of cigarette-rolling papers.

    • You just had to bring up the YietNam thing didn’t you. War, , , , , some memories are best forgotten

      • to Possum

“You just had to bring up the YietNam thing didn’t you. War, , , , , some memories are best forgotten”

Brilliant idea that is why we keep making the same mistakes over and over when it comes to unnecessary wars. Lord forbid the younger generation would find out the truth about our Countries Jack Booted Leaders. As Jimmy Carter said “We are the most war like country on the face of the earth.” I would not have believed that until I saw on the news that we recently bombed 6 different countries in one day and that John McCain had recommended we invade no less than 50 countries including the Ukraine. No wonder Putin invaded the Ukraine. With most of the U.S. Fleet in the area what else could he have done.

    • My takeaway: If I’m going to survive and keep my family safe in the dystopian horror show that is planet Earth, I damn well better have guns. Lots of them.

    • Drac, you shouldn’t project your own weird urges, stinkiness and agression on all of us. (Or your viscosity.) It’s just you.

  28. I liked Salon better when they were open advocates for pedophiles.
Despite their attempts to scrub that GEM from history-the internet never forgets.

  29. Re: “With a gun in his hand, a man can look around a room, a building, or a public area and specifically identify who will instantaneously die and whom he will allow to live”

Yikes, amazing that some people really think that way and do not have a single clue on self-defense or the gun “culture”.

    • It may even work that way for some sociopath, as long as the room, building or public area in question is a gun free zone.

  30. This Thom person must be a moron.
When Im holding a gun and I have on a person a few times in my life. The absolute only thing on my mind is. Dont make me have to use it.
Any other thoughts and I dont believe a man should be holding a gun.

  31. A 2006 study published in Psychological Science by Klinesmith, Kasser and McAndrew found that men who simply handled a gun were significantly more likely to give other men a higher dose of hot sauce (a commonly used research measure of aggression) right after handling the gun than were men who handled a child’s toy.

Giving other guys hot sauce is a standard method for measuring aggression? These psychologists must be women. That right there biases the study.

  32. I don’t see why this is a bad thing.
Regardless of the tool used, General Mattis said it best,
“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”
    It’s what keeps us alive.

    • Well, yeah, in a war zone with a bloody insurgency going on.

Here in America, it’s my blood pressure meds, my Cabela’s/Bass Pro Black MasterCard, my concealed weapon and good Italian cooking keeping me humming along.

Gotta’ set your self preservation actions to your situation, always.

Doc also has me on a statin med, cause of those insurgent cholesterol SOB’s trying to disrupt things in the old arteries. Sneaky buggers.

      • “Doc also has me on a statin med, cause of those insurgent cholesterol SOB’s trying to disrupt things in the old arteries. Sneaky buggers.”

Call in some mixed nuts for reinforcements. Fiber and healthy fats, natures CAS for high cholesterol.

  33. Give me a good calzone and some marinara on the side and I’ll murderlize that dish …. and then it’s cannoli for dessert.

Seriously, always leave the gun, take the cannoli, that’s my philosophy.

  34. What kind of screwed up religion do you have when you believe a priest can strike you dead at any time? Am I the only one that found that odd?

  35. After reading this article I touched my gun and did feel something I was thankful I had it and the ability to use it if the time comes.anti gunners ruled by emotions instead of common Sense.their stupidity is never ending

  36. There is one small positive in this article…at least the author admits, unintentionally no doubt, that men and women ARE different. A welcome break from the women=men Social engineering we are force fed 24/7.

      • Of course, my point is that men and women are different, despite the 24/7 social conditioning that tries to leads the masses to believe otherwise.

  37. Priests have the power of life and death? I thought that went out around the time of Joan of Arc. Not going to his church, that’s for sure.

  38. With an abortion, a woman can look at her stomach and decide if the life growing in her stomach will instantly die.

    • In fact, lets go off on a tangent here and postulate just the option of having an abortion available for use makes a woman more prone to wreckless, self indulgent behavior due to the perceived lack of consequences of their actions. A woman who might otherwise think twice with the threat of child birth looming overhead in nine months with a man she might otherwise regret her union is now prone to impulsive, less rational behavior, killing a developing child for the sake of self gratification. In essence, abortions have made women dumber, freeing them from the obligations of logic and consequences.

  39. At the wheel of my car, I can look around and literally decide what pedestrians live and what pedestrians die.
At the helm of my boat, I can look around and decide what simmers live and what swimmers die.

Seriously. This concept could be applied to anything that allows a human to harness a lot of kinetic energy.

    • Hey Don, we used to get 2 points for hitting an adult, 1 point for a kid, no points for an old person. That was our (pretend) game when we got our driver’s licenses. Anyone else play that one? And, driver or passenger could slug the other when he saw a padiddle i.e. a one headlight car. Whoever saw it first.

  40. It’s amazing how these people have no inkling how ridiculous they sound. Like a homeless nut ranting about the molemen who possessed his dog & caused him to shoplift.

  41. God Forbid that ordinary free men should be as dangerous as doctors, priests, police and soldiers.
Don’t look now, Thom, your slave mind is showing.

  42. Aman with a red plastic gasoline container and a road flare can influence the lives of many people. And the whole smear could cost less than, being conservative, $8.00.

    • Timothy
My question to gun grabbers in Australia is “what is the number massacre 2 and 3 after Port Arthur?” No one ever knows the Childers fire or Brisbane nightclub fire (15 and 13 deaths with numerous injuries). Ban petrol and assault matches!

    • At the 99 cent store you can get a cigarette lighter and a can of hairspray for 2 bucks.
Bring that with you on the subway.

  43. With my penis in my hand I know I can get any blonde, brunette, redhead, Asian, black woman to go down. The power is intoxicating and I feel it all over my body. Give me 6 more inches and I will conquer!!!

  44. Some of his statement is partly true, however, there is clearly a misdirection going on.

Yeah, when a teenage male gets a gun in his hands he feels powerful and when “mass shooters” go into a “gun free zone” they feel a god complex take over.

This guy tells me that guns in males hands is bad and dangerous yet he wouldn’t mind the most dangerous people having complete control of them and only those people should carry them around. Those people being government workers. He does mention in his book that government used guns to murder Indians in mass and to enslave Africans yet his grand plan is to force licensing and expensive insurance on all non government people.

I am starting to think he is a racist trying to shame men into taking away minorities’ rights. He is aware that most people in America are white. He knows the U.S. governments has passed racists laws. He isn’t ignorant to the fact that most minorities are not well off. So what does he expect to happen when he gets his way?

I would think non whites in America would be pissed to hear a white male tell them they shouldn’t be free to exercise their human rights now that they finally get to. It’s like those (white) Californians that got angry after some black men carried around their rifles to protect their rights from the government. The NRA and Reagan was quick to take their rights away and require licensing. California is worse today then back in those openly racist days.

    • Yeah, when a teenage male gets a gun in his hands he feels powerful and when “mass shooters” go into a “gun free zone” they feel a god complex take over.

I can’t speak for the FEELINGS of a mass shooter in a gun free zone, but having been not only a teenage male but also a pre-teen male with a gun in my hand I can confidently say that though that POWERFUL feeling may present itself to some, not ALL teenage boys have that problem.. I was raised to respect guns and to use them as a tool (to put food on the table) and for sport shooting with friends in competitions involving cut out cardboard targets.. No one that I grew up with ever expressed the desire to take over the neighborhood when he was holding a gun.. Besides our nearest neighbor was nearly a mile away and had even bigger guns than we did….

    • I’ve recently met a very nice woman whom was molested from age 6 to 16. She’s pretty messed up from it. If this guy is advocating that sick shit I’d certainly like to have the opportunity to meet that guy. Meat Cleaver would too

  45. With a gun in my right hand, I think now put right thumb over the hammer a carefully insert the gun into the holster on my right hip, taking care not to catch the trigger on the holster or anything else……..

Liberals have violence on the brain…

  46. “With a gun in his hand, a man can look around a room, a building, or a public area and specifically identify who will instantaneously die and whom he will allow to live.”

If you don’t you’re a fool. ACTING on it is another thing.

    Gen. Mad Dog Mattis:
‘Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.’

” It’s a power that traditionally has only been held by doctors, priests, police and soldiers.”

Wow. That’s some seriously f’ed up sh*t. So those for classes of people have the double-naught spy license to kill? Really? Doctors enter a room and decide who’s going to die? Not SAVE, but be “allowed to live?”

Wow. Double Wow. Does the left have any moments of fun in their lives at all?

  47. Well since Men ” supposedly” think mostly with their other head, and a gunm is “supposedly” an extension of a penis I’d have to say holding a gunm might affect my brain, hasn’t happened yet so far as I know however I once held a Remington Pigeon Grade that did give me a tingly sensation

  48. “With a gun in his hand, a man can look around a room, a building, or a public area and specifically identify who will instantaneously die and whom he will allow to live. It’s a power that traditionally has only been held by doctors, priests, police and soldiers.”

What? has this person not read anything about, I dunno, the entirety of Human history?

  49. And a doctor is 20,000 times more likely to kill you, based on the CDC’s estimate of 200-400,000 deaths per year from preventable medical error versus the FBI ucr of 10-12,000 non-suicide deaths caused by firearms.

My guess is Texas, but it could just as easily be here in Montana. Or Wyoming. Or some of the other non-slave States. But I’ll still go with the Lone Star State.

You would be wrong. 🙂 Texas still requires a CC permit.

  52. I forgot to mention MSBC mentioned last week that a recent study by psychologists proved that teenagers brains are not fully developed until at least age 20 years. Many are not capable of comprehending how their irresponsible actions will affect other people or themselves until years later when they mature which of course is often after the fact and far too late. So the new Florida law that refuses to sell long guns to teenagers until age 21 was actually ahead of its time because it was passed before this study was made public.

      • Vlad, of course, should not be trusted with a gun until he’s 21. Scratch that. Vlads comments here show a dark and disturbed individual. It would be an interesting case study to see how he compares to adam lanza.

        • You nailed him! He’s another big pharma shill……..cause that makes sense in someone’s low IQ world.

        • pg, I talked slow and used little words so you’d understand and it still went right over your head. And you flat out admitted to being a troll. You’re not here to persuade, just to jerk chains. That’s trolling 101.

If you didn’t exist big pharma would have to create you. You and vlad and miner49er are the same.

And you keep showing up just to prove my point.

        • You’re the fool that actually responds seriously to troll bot profiles. You’ll be scratching your head in disbelief when you no longer have gun rights, and the government is forcing pharmaceuticals, and whatever else they want, into you and your family.

        • Responding to you or vlad ain’t about you 2. It’s to let any watchers know that we disagree with you paid trolls and have answers for you.

You getting excited at the thought of folks getting forced to take shots? Just remember useful idiots like you and vlad will be the ones ‘disappeared’ when you’re no longer needed.

        • Only a total moron would accuse me of being a paid pharma troll. Considering the likelihood of someone being that dumb and still being able to function in society, my guess is that you yourself are paid to dumb down this forum, especially since paid trolls commonly project their activities onto others as they try to shape and steer conversations. You’re busted.

        • Misdirection, pg. It’s so obvious that you are trying to make anti vaxxers look bad that you could only be a paid troll. You and vlad.

If you honestly and sincerely believed in the anti vaccine cause then you must do some self aware soul searching and realize that you are doing big pharma a solid in presenting yourself and the anti vaccine cause in the light that you do.

But it’s truly obvious with this last bit of misdirection that you are false to the core.

        • How would you describe the poster who posted this? “I’ll take gun lovers hypocracy over gun haters hypocracy any day of the week”…..That’s right, any negative post from you really is a compliment. You’re either here as a paid liar trying to dumb this forum down, or you really are as dumb as you appear to be, as impossible as that seems. Explain in your own words, and you can keep the words small, maybe easier for you, how my posts pointing out the total lack of childhood vaccine safety studies and the corruption and the collusion of the CDC with the pharmaceutical industry it is pro -pharmaceutical?

        • It’s not what you point out. It’s how and where and with what attitude. You are trying to make anti vaxxers look stupid. If you’re not being paid by big pharma you should be.

If you are who you claim to be I’ve taken you by the hand like a child and walked you step by step through this process. IF, and that’s a big IF, you truly are an anti vaxxer then you are the worlds worst spokesman for your cause.

But since you’re still working the misdirection angle it’s obvious to anybody that is sentient that you are a shill, a troll.

        • You referring to me as “stupid” is a compliment, I’ll take that all day, everyday, from your “hypocrasy” ilk.

    • There are studies that say the human body stops developing around 25 years old. So the body and the brain is still in development in your early twenties.

If you made it to 25 without the help of modern civilization it’s almost a miracle; to make it to 50 without being all kinds of messed up would be. In other words, 25 used to be considered middle age, but today 25 is considered to be the beginning of adulthood.

It’s not good to treat young adults like children. Just because you’re young doesn’t mean you’re dumb, you just lack knowledge/wisdom, which your elders is supposed to pass on to you.

      • Ironically, we’re seeing the first generation that won’t outlive their parents, the life expectancy is dropping.

      • (There are studies that say the human body stops developing around 25 years old)

Gosh mister, you mean it’s gonna grow even bigger ? I’m already tripping over it.

    • Yet overseas where the drinking age is 18, and they can be in bars/clubs at 16 in some places, there are less idiots. Same goes for speeding and traffic laws. Your arguments are just trollish attempts to grab guns because you don’t like them. Why don’t you just fuck off.

    • I got no problem with the 21 law, except it’s inconsistent. Why are you an adult for some things at 18, and other things at 21? It’s nonsensical. Either you should get full rights at 18, or full rights at 21.
You can be drafted into the military and vote at 18, but you can’t drink or buy firearms until 21. How does this make any sense whatsoever? Why should any free citizen have partial rights?

There needs to be a unified age of majority. I don’t care what you set the number at, but freaking set it.

    • “…a recent study by psychologists proved that teenagers brains are not fully developed until at least age 20 years.”

Well, if you believe this then maybe that explains a lot about you. It’s been known for decades that the brain isn’t done growing and fully wiring itself until age 25 in men and at least 21 in women. So, if that study is real then it’s some middle school level shit by a bunch of morons.

    • Is that why Progressives squeal that we need to lower voting age to 16?
If at age of 20 you are so undeveloped that you can’t be trusted with a firearm, you shouldn’t marry, drive and especially vote until you fully grow up.

  53. “It’s a power that traditionally has only been held by doctors, priests, police and soldiers.”……and dictators……Stalin, Lennin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Castro, Saddam Hussein, Mao,
Chavez, et el……and American Elitists/Progressives/Socialists….. if we allow gun control to be further implemented and we don’t stand by the Second Amendment.
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on the lunch menu.
Freedom is a well armed sheep taking exception to the vote. Oh, that powerful sheep.

  54. Violence is a means to an end. Tell me I’m wrong. History seems to prove it.

A lot of people are not comfortable with self-defense because they can’t fathom the thought that it might result in taking someone’s life.

Self-defense, is violence. Therefore I am violent.

Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming?

    🙂 🙂 🙂 Ok, I’ll relent. Mississippi. 🙂

  56. Worst case of leftist projection I have seen in a while. Sorry Hartman but I do not feel any compulsion to harm people when I handle a firearm. I do believe that one needs to own a gun in each caliber just for diversities sake though.

  57. To a progressive, the greatest power is violence to enforce their will. Evidence the visceral joy they experience in promoting the murder of the unborn. Note how violence accompanies their rallies and their dialogue regarding anyone daring to have a different opinion- conservative black? They threaten to lynch them. Conservative woman? They threaten to rape.

Whereas, to a conservative, the greatest power is to create and defend. Progressives fear guns because they would, themselves, use them only for destruction. Conservatives think of them as tools for recreation as well as for defense- they might have to kill someone to defend themselves, but they’d feel horrible at the necessity.

While progressives often demonize their opponents as “Nazies”, it’s important to always remember that the Nazi party was, at its heart, socialist. Like progressives, Nazies were anti-gun and pro-eugenics.

    • Amazing how they fail to realize the errors in their political stances, isn’t it. It’s as if they want history to just keep repeating itself over and over and over. They cannot comprehend the future and instead, jerk their knees to control the moment.

    • “While progressives often demonize their opponents as “Nazies”, it’s important to always remember that the Nazi party was, at its heart, socialist. Like progressives, Nazies were anti-gun and pro-eugenics.”

That is because Far Right Conservatives are indeed Nazi’s and the parallels are striking and totally indisputable

Hitler hated immigrants and refugees and minorities and so does Herr Drumpf and his mesmerized glazed eyed followers and everything is identical except the stiff armed salute.

Some Far Right Fanatics have ersatz Nazi flags and use the stiff armed salute along with flying the Confederate flag next to the modern version of the Nazi flag. You see it on the news all the time. Tell me do you not watch the news?????

Hitler hated unions and tried to destroy them and ditto for Herr Drumpf and the Republicans with their jack booted ‘right to work states’. Again the parallel to Hitler and the Nazi’s is chilling.

Hitler believed he and his followers were part of the “Master Race” and Right Wing Conservatives in the U.S. will not admit to the mass murder the U.S. has done in China, the Philippine Islands and Vietnam. Again no difference at all.

Hitler was a maniacal Right Wing Nationalist and xenophobic as is Herr Drumpf and his glazed eyed followers. Again the parallel cannot be disputed or ignored.

The Far Right of Germany worshiped Hitler as a Messiah as does the Far Right Fanatics in the U.S. who worship Herr Drumpf as a living God and Messiah. Again the comparison is chilling. In their warped minds Hitler and Herr Drumpf can do no wrong. Herr Drumpf said “I could kill someone with a gun and my followers would all worship me for it.” It was the only truthful thing he ever said.

Hitler blamed his countries problems on Jews who were a minority while Herr Drumpf claimed Latino’s were drug crazed zombies and American Muslims were all homicidal maniacs. Again the parallels are chilling.

Hitler glorified war and the Military as does the Far Right in Capitalvania U.S.A. Hitler said every nation needs war to strengthen their men and this is also the credo of the Far Right in the U.S. Far Right Young men in the U.S. are taught that to become a man you must join the military and enjoy “killing a commie dead”. Its a right of depraved passage to warped manhood.

Hitler destroyed freedom of the press while Herr Drumpf has tried to destroy the free press in the U.S. and called it fake news. Only his State Controlled Fox News is to be trusted just as Hitler only trusted Julius Streicher and his Nazi State controlled News paper. Again the parallels are chilling.

American Nazi’s marched in Charolttesville carrying torches just like Hitlers Nazi’s did in Germany and the American Nazi’s praised and worshiped Herr Drumpf as Germany’s Nazi’s praised and worshiped Hitler. The parallels are chilling.

Socialism in Europe does not mean a country is Communistic. As a matter of fact Hitler had a maniacal hatred of Communism and he regarded his war on Russia as a Religious Crusade against the evils of communism. Socialism by the way originated in Germany not Russia so equating Socialism with Communism would get you laughed out of a room in Europe. Socialism with the Far Right in Europe is as natural as greed monger Capitalvania is with the Far Right Republicans in the U.S.

The hall mark of Hitlers gang and Herr Drumpfs gang are one and the same, bigotry religious intolerance, homophobia, racism, xenophobia and super Nationalism and populism. They both march in lock step with no deviation at all between the two. Take your pick they are one and the same. A Nazi is a Nazi no matter what side of the Atlantic you are one. Its not rocket science and Hitler is smiling in his grave as his credo lives on in the minds of all the Far Right.

      • No Vlad Hitler is in hell burning and screaming for mercy as you also will be if you don’t surrender to Christ Jesus you have been warned

        • “No Vlad Hitler is in hell burning and screaming for mercy as you also will be if you don’t surrender to Christ Jesus you have been warned”

You have every right to believe in your bronze age mysticism as well as engaging in your prayer, rituals and incantations by the light of the moon. But please keep your howling at the moon in your own back yard. I like to get some peaceful sleep without being ranted at by the people who consider themselves “the chosen ones”. For myself I live in the 21st Century and you obviously do not. Your living 2,000 years in the past but that is your right just don’t try and think that I have to was well.

        • Vlad living in the 21 first century is your problem you have bought into Satan’s lie that God does not exist sad you have been warned

      • “Socialism is a pre-stage of Communism. Until common ownership of means of production alows us enough products that we can finally abolish money and give everyone according to his needs, we have to settle for socialism.”

That’s what I have been taught in Marxism-Leninism in socialist European country in which the Communist party ruled at the time. Do you think you know better and the communist who’s been teaching it was wrong?

  58. Without a gun in a person’s hands, a government can walk into a room and decide who lives and dies.

  59. And The U.K has had an alarming increase in knife murders due to illegals. And recently the powers that be found a cache of weapons
( military) in a muslim mosque. You speak nothing of rhe body guards to politicians and many of them believe that only thoae that are elite should have guns. Mmm Hitler, Mussolini , Stalin

  60. “The power over life and death is greater and more intoxicating than any other power;…”
No, the most intoxicating power is that from a Hot Redhead!

Thats about the level of seriousness I give the gun haters statement,

    • …like to think my ownership of a gun goes a long way in preventing someone from imposing their will upon me…define that not as power…but peace of mind…..

  61. He is just another Liberal self-hating white man. Perhaps a gun owning woman or man turned him down and he is now forever in self-doubt and self-loathing. He is definitely anti civil rights.

  62. Why the frick do we have to suffer from links to SALON articles on here?!?!
Christ on a pogo stick, people! The salon is NOT to be taken seriously. Not by men…

  63. When a Mom has a spatula, she literally holds the power of life and death in her hand. That kind of power is extraordinarily seductive.

So the next time your hungry and you want to find out what’s for supper, ask yourself this…

    “Are you feeling lucky…Punk?”

  64. Here in civilization we exist on each other’s forbearance. From violence, through property rights to “..as long as you don’t do it in the streets and scare the horses.” We get by by not killing on each other, leaving them their stuff, and *not* scaring the horses by doing it in the streets.

The civilized among us know this. No, you don’t get to convert by the sword the heathens, because, yes, of course you are right, but doing that “Kill the infidels!” thing makes a mess that doesn’t end.(*) No, you don’t get to throw glitter bombs on people who’s thing is not your thing.

Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, there, doesn’t like being reminded of that forbearance. He imagines everyone as ineffective as he is. When he gets corrected, it may well be the last thing that ever happens to him.

It is perhaps the most terrifying thing to own your own power. For good. For evil. To prepare for good, or evil. Each moment becomes a momentous choice, which is why they flee from it.

Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, really seems to have an issue with acting in the world.
