Remember the liberal outrage when Alaska Governor Sarah Palin used crosshairs on a map to identify electoral races she wanted Republicans to win? [Click here to revisit that epic troll.] The Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC ) enables similar opprobrium for using the image above in its ammoland.com post New Jersey Gun Owners Get Ready to Fight the Democrats War on Gun Rights (republished below). Batten down the rhetorical hatches NJ gun rights advocates, it could get rough . . .

New Jersey – -(Ammoland.com)- New jersey’s November’s election outcome couldn’t have been much worse. A national wave of pent-up liberal frustration swept over both New Jersey and Virginia. It was made worse in the Garden State by the vengeance of unions and other key voting blocs hurt by Governor Christie. The end result was loss of the governorship, larger anti-gun majorities in the legislature, and an election night nail-biter for some pro-gun incumbents from traditionally safe districts.

And now, the aftermath. Higher taxes, impending sanctuary statehood, a taxpayer-funded state bank, and yes – a full frontal assault on the Second Amendment, euphemistically styled as a “conversation” about “common sense gun safety laws.”

But there will be no conversation, no common sense, and it won’t be about gun safety – it will be about targeting the gun rights of honest citizens instead of punishing violent criminals.

We’re going to see an aggressive push to limit magazine capacity, ban large caliber firearms, activate the “smart gun” law, tax gun ownership, regulate ammunition, reverse Governor Christie’s carry improvements, mandate training, and all manner of schemes and contrivances to limit Second Amendment rights, and to harass and demonize law-abiding gun owners. What we won’t see is any meaningful effort to severely punish violent gun criminals, or end the catch-and-release justice system that puts them back out on the street.

New Jersey’s gun ban extremists are going to unleash eight years of pent-up frustration in a torrent of attacks that will rival what we saw in 2013.

Except this time, the new Governor is all too willing to sign whatever comes his way.

New Jersey gun owners survived Governors Florio, McGreevey, and Corzine. Somehow, we will survive Governor Murphy too, but it’s going to take everything we’ve got – everything. It’s going to take our time, our energy, our faith, and our resources. We’ll have to do battle publicly, privately, in the media, and in the courts. We’ll have to persevere when it seems hopeless, fight when it seems unwinnable, and march fearlessly into battle, over and over, with the odds stacked badly against us.

New Jersey gun owners have done it before, and now we have no choice but to do it again. You have a critical role in these upcoming battles, and that is to make your voice heard, long and loud, throughout the entire process, even when it seems futile (it’s not).

Those who won’t see the light must be made to feel the heat – they must be made to understand that we will not give up, we will resist them at every turn, they will have to work hard to gain every inch, and then they will have to work even harder to defend their gains.

A battle unlike any other is about to unfold. Get ready to Stand and Fight.

  1. Yeah, NJ rights-advocates seem to be pissing into the wind. Sometimes the wind dies down a bit, but there is always wind. (Governor, legislator, State Police, etc..)

  2. Good luck folks, I hope you don’t get trampled on but have low expectations. Christie should have never ran, my dog stood a better chance of becoming governor this election.

    • I wouldn’t worry too much about that, something tells me that an awful lot of New Jersey gun owners lost guns in boating accidents.

        • That will be an interesting day in court – “We’re prosecuting you for not possessing an item we’ve deemed illegal.” Good luck to the prosecutors.

It would be like if the police heard you bought and smoked a bag of marijuana back in the 90’s and they’re just now trying to arrest you for it.

      • Then you can no longer use or enjoy shooting these guns that you lost in a “boating accident”………. If it ever gets to that point and you are doing anything other than killing these tyrants you have lost everything.

  3. Good luck Joyzee-you’ll need it. My s##t state of Illinois is proped up by court orders and little else…

    • Ya,…. California has a bunch of case law shooting down dumb statutory law too…. Our pols just ignore it. Sets a good example for the citizenry though. Stupid laws win stupid prizes with the people.

  4. When a previous girlfiend I had from NJ, moved to this State, she thot I was a gangster because I had a pistol with me. Her and everyone else she knew depended on baseball bats

  5. Well, I hate to say it, but NJ is gone…like Venezuela is gone. Apart from a 70% population replacement or a complete SCOTUS 2A majority (even that is doubtful, as the criminals that run NJ will just ignore federal law), I don’t see anything turning that place around.

    • California is next. Governor Brown is in the last year of his last term, and his likely replacement, front runner Gavin Newsome, who hates guns and is a true believer in gun bans, will be infinitely worse. It would not surprise me in the least to see an attempt to require registration of ALL semiautomatic rifles as “assault weapons,” which means they cannot be sold or transferred to anyone in state. Although sheriffs currently issue ccws and have discretion to determine an applicant’s “good cause,” I foresee an attempt to make a state-wide standard of “good cause” akin to that currently imposed by the LAPD (which means no one has it), removing the sheriff’s discretionary authority, just as they did this year by removing a school district’s discretion to allow CCW holders to carry in campuses. Further efforts will be made to shrink the pool of available firearms on teh California Roster, by hook, but mostly by crook. Will five round mags be in OUR future? (Actually, I don’t think so, but I wouldn’t put it past them to try.)

  6. Things will stay about the same in Jersey- shitty, but not quite as bad as the worst places. Unlike DC and NYC, Jersey tries to avoid being the outlier but is happy to follow in whatever gun control holds up in court.

  7. As a New Jersey resident I can assure you fellow patriots this. There will be no retreat. There will be no surrender. We will not go quietly into the night. We will stand and fight. We will exhaust all peaceful legal avenues at our disposal. God forbid should we have to go kinetic we will do so with our boots on.

  8. If all the folks that moved out of NJ as soon as they retired went back and voted one year it could change ! Won’t happen, more reasonable people will keep leaving, and the leftists left will keep raising more lefties !

  9. Politicians, bureaucrats, law enforcement, and 98% of the people in our nation fail to see that government infringements of our fundamental rights are unforgivable violations of our human dignity.

Let us therefore get straight to the point. Government infringement of our right to possess effective self-defense tools, including firearms, is government dictating that we allow rapists to rape women and violent criminals to brutally maim and kill us. That makes government criminal accomplices to rapists and murderers. That is utterly and totally unacceptable.

  10. Am I the only person who thinks that putting cross-hairs on a politician is not only counter-productive, but completely inappropriate?

This is how Yitzhak Rabin got whacked. Right wingers in Israel just kept pumping up the incitement, until somebody decided to act on it. We cannot normalize violence against people who have committed no crime other than political disagreement. If you don’t like what he stands for, vote him out.

Cue the armchair commandos in 3, 2, 1…

    • IdahoBoy, I get what you are saying, but these pols who keep further restricting fundamental, natural or God given rights in opposition to our Constitution are committing real crimes. Unfortunately for those of us rights-advocates, many of the judges are siding with those pols, making the judges complicit in committing the crimes.

  11. In the crosshairs LITERALLY? No one has aimed a rifle at that bastard yet. You meant figuratively, not literally. (Unless you’re playing on literature/letters vs. life, but I doubt that.)
