“‘He’s doing his job and standing his ground and whatever he had to do. But this is the normal in Southwest. It’s an everyday thing, nothing new for us,’ said [Local activist Joar] Dahn.”

Dahn was referring to a shooting at a local cell phone store in southwest Philadelphia yesterday. That particular store had been a frequent target, which is no doubt why the clerk, who has a carry permit, was armed.

“A male entered the store with a firearm and attempted to rob the store to which he discharged his firearm at the robbery suspect several times, striking him,” said Philadelphia Police Captain Scott Drissel.

The thirty-year-old would-be robber died on the scene.

Police confirm this was the third time recently that someone had come into the MetroPCS store with the intent to rob it.

  1. More from the city of brotherly love. Philly competing with Baltimore, Chicago, Jacksonville, Florida and St Louis.

    • I’m a member of the Church, and I carry a gun at work every day. My boss is Mormon too and he doesn’t care. Two other Mormon guys in the office are about to get their concealed weapons permits and start carrying. Most members of the Church are very pro-gun, despite the new policy

  2. I’m sure these phone stores in low income neighborhoods where people pay month-to-month in cash dont pay nearly enough for the risk

  3. Another dirt bag off the streets, but wait, the bleeding liberals will say the 32 year old man was just mis-understood and needed the money. The clerk should have just given it to him. Now there will be riots in the street because of this.

    • Will Drider,

That was a very clean and fast draw …

I came to say the same thing.

Let this be a case-in-point — or perhaps more appropriately a counterpoint — for the crowd who keeps screaming that we need hundreds of hours of rigorous training/practice before we are actually capable of defending ourselves.

Unless someone has compelling evidence that this store clerk is former special forces with thousands of hours of training/practice, I am going with this store clerk being an everyday-Joe who probably has no more training/practice than any other average armed person.

  4. I find it difficult to have much sympathy. I hear way too many thugmommas going on about how their precious lilthug was “jus tryn to support he fambly” or he was “jus turnin he life aroun,” and that man had no right to shoot back and kill her lilthug.

  5. Democrats wonder why there are “food deserts.” Here’s a prime example. Would YOU want to open a grocery store in a neighborhood where it’s common to be the victim of armed robbery?

    • Look at it this way.
Po’ Cousin Pookie ain’t gonna be buggin’ nobody anytime soon. Somebody done went and sent him to Dindu Dreamland. His choice, but there you have it.

    • It is a good thing when an armed robber dies.

“Once a man starts armed robbing he has crossed a line most won’t. Don’t forget that when you are looking these bastards in the eye. Their decision to kill you is already made. Your life means nothing to him. Only his does. His sole motivation for not killing you is he doesn’t want a murder case. He has already accepted he may pick one up though….We will hit all Juniors friends and family’s houses. We make it so no one will harbor him. He is so hot no one will let him in their house or even talk on the phone with him. We put money on him so he knows he is right to be betrayed and set up. We do this because of one thing.

That thing is they WILL kill someone if they keep robbing.”

  6. I think the clerk knew something might happen, watch his hand go to his waist just before the door opens. I’m guessing it wasn’t his first rodeo.
What did the bad man throw on the counter just before he assumed room temp?

    • The explicit difference between burglary and robbery.

One is a property crime, the other is a taking under threat of violence.

    • You’re comparing apples and oranges. The scenario in the previous article centered around the perp RETREATING with your property or not being an immediate physical threat. In that article the consensus was that you’d have a hard time defending any ballistic actions before a jury.

This guy had the perp point a gun at him within spitting distance and all in focus and on screen. This is a totally different scenario and justifiable self defense to any judge or jury.

  7. I used to live in Philly. &0th and Elmwood is way southwest and wasn’t the nicest neighborhood. You can a long way from cops in that area.

    • “Is it wrong of me to enjoy reading the stories with the armed criminal gets killed by an armed good guy?”

I look at it this way – The robber got to not live with the consequences of his now-non life choices.

      Play stupid games, etc… 😉

      • ““Is it wrong of me to enjoy reading the stories with the armed criminal gets killed by an armed good guy?””

Do you think [the ones who can read] would feel bad reading a story about how one of them killed YOU?

If you don’t want to get shot, don’t try to rob people. For some, that’s less comprehensible than quantum physics.

  8. Bet the lawyers hate it when a potential client gets wasted. This whole scenario settled for less than a dollar and about 20 seconds of time .Oh and I forgot to mention that the police didn’t have to be bothered much more than some appear work

  9. In other news clerk’s in Chicagoland have been shooting bad actors and getting positive coverage on the local “news”. About damn time!

  10. Damn it, they paused the video before you could see the perp taking the bullets!

If these videos showed how terrible it is to get shot, maybe the crooks would think twice!

Think how much money the clerk saved Philly in court costs, lawyers, and jail housing fees! THANKS!!!!!! He should get a medal and key to the city!!!

  11. I’m sure Sleepy Joe, Kamala, Pocahontas and all Democrats and liberals would rather have had that store clerk risk his life for death in being shot by the criminal robber/felon rather than he be armed to defend himself with lawful, justifiable use of deadly force against the deadly force threat criminal.

  12. Outstanding! But now that the perp has assumed room temperature, I guess we’ll never know now how Global Warming was ultimately responsible for his actions.

  13. Now the store employee needs to send the victims family/estate a bill for the ammo, and a bill for cleaning (time/materials) of the firearm.

    • Also gonna need a go fund me page to pay for a lawyer to fight all the lawsuits from the cockroach’s “grieving” family members. No good deed goes unpunished.

  14. Local news:
    https://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2019/08/26/metropcs-employee-fatally-shoots-robbery-suspect-philadelphia-police/

The video still stops before the clerk shoots. That’s all the video that has been shared, so far.

What’s really interesting is that store has been robbed so many times the police keep a log book inside the store. Officers visit and sign the log to prove they are checking on the store clerk. That is one nasty neighborhood to require such a procedure, where the local cops have to prove they are going in and doing their jobs.

Next news is likely going to be that Metro PCS fires the store clerk. It’s the rare business that tolerates employees carrying guns. Corporate lawyers figure the legal risk and expense is less if an employee is murdered than if their nightmare predictions of the employee shooting somebody who can sue them comes true.

Decades back my father worked at a Circle K. Walked there with a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt, 7.5″ barrel in a Buscalero rig with a skinning knife and cartridges full up in the loops all the way around. Kept the gun and gunbelt under the counter.

Right next to store manager’s shotgun.

Just the way things ought to be. Armed boss, armed employee, only a total moron would try anything!

  15. Well done. This is one to study and learn from. Hes alert and moves toward his firearm which is carried strong side (for him I guess) toward the opening room. He doesnt panic and waits for his moment. Smooth draw and strong punch out with no hesitation. Im betting he was 100% on accuracy or close enough. Great job and good shoot!

  16. The defensive shooting had nothing to do with robbery or how much money was in the till. It was about defending lives from a criminal with a gun likely to commit murder.

  17. I agree with DCChristian’s comment. I would add that I think justice was served. It’s distressing to see the city of my birth and upbringing being reduced to its current condition but when you’re governed by Leftists for years, this is what you get. Our once-great cities such as Philly, Chicago, Baltimore etc. have become unlivable for law-abiding citizens.

  18. Yo that’s what I”m talking about bag these so call stick up boy everybody need gun permits and let’s rid the streets of these assholes i’m a black male strapped I dress like a mechanic dirty waiting for someone to pull a deadly weapon you wouldn’t think I’m armed but I’m a real cowboy weapon camifolged I can draw hit 3 moving targets ,and holster n 3 seconds … Let’s give these boys some real gun play stay strapped. Fuck the criminals.. ..need more like him let’s make cops jobs easier bag um first then call 50.. . The cowboy
