New York Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who hasn’t found a subject about which she isn’t OMG! really well-informed and eager to pontificate — has taken exception to her distinguished colleague from Texas, Rep. Dan Crenshaw.

Crenshaw commented on a defensive gun use during which a woman fended off five attackers while in her car, shooting one of the suspects.

The Congressman tweeted the following:

AOC didn’t appreciate Crenshaw pointing out just one of the problems with the proposed universal background check bill that congressional Democrats are pushing so hard. The Squad member replied thusly:

Bless her heart.

That’s a lot of assumptions in one tweet. Apparently AOC thinks the only people that gun owners know, are related to, or are associated with are 1) criminals, 2) wife beaters, and 3) can’t back a NICS check on their own. Even a fellow member of Congress.

Hilarity then ensued.

And finally . . .

  1. Does she ever need a lesson. Kost gun owners HATE people who transfer firearms in any way shape or form to prohibited persons and know of none who would get a weapon to a known abuser of other people. My question is do really dumb people pass on all their questions and notions to her? They must, I can’t believe one person could conceive of all the lunacy she espouses.

  2. So her theory is that gun owners don’t know the kind of people they’re close enough to lend a gun to as well as the federal government does?

Shall we start naming all the notorious mass murderers who passed federal background checks?

  3. “@AmySwearer…Unclear whether you’re intentionally misleading people” Just to clear this up…If AOC is tweeting or if her lips are moving, she IS intentionally misleading people. Every damn time.

    • I don’t think so. I believe she really is that misinformed and dumb. Ever watched Mark Dice’s multiple ‘man on the street’ interviews with passersby from a few years ago? So many misinformed people out there who don’t have any clue of the real world around them. AOC is simply one of the bunch that was voted into a major office. I hope her constituents back home are face palming themselves now and counting down until the next election five years from now when they can vote her out.

        • AOC is proof that:

          1. ANYONE that can “pay” the bill and will put up with BS
can get a college degree today. Why some many young men today are so confused over the value/utility of a college degree.

          2. Prostitution must be a legal employment option

        • @M,

Oops, you’re right. I was thinking Senator for a moment there. She’s just a pleeb Representative, hence the bad blood between her and Pelosi.

BTW, where is Pelosi lately? Is she also doing a “Weekend at Bernie’s” like RBG?

      • My guess would be they have been face palming ever since she ran Amazon and $25 billion out of town, and bragged about it. But another nail in the coffin can’t hurt.

        • Nail in the coffin? Stupid NYers will still vote her in. Just look at how long Piglosi, Chief Warren, and Frankenfeinstein (to name a few) have been in office.

      • This “woman” is NOT misinformed, she is just plain STUPID!!! Misinformed means that when you are shown the truth that you will accept it and not continue believing the lie. She has been told the truth EVERY time that she lied and she is still LYING! She’s a leftist, that’s what they do!

    • @ I Haz A Question…She’s a U. S. Congresswoman. She has the means and tools to learn. Yet, she remains willfully ignorant and is not shy about it. So I have to assume she is willfully misleading .

      • What evidence do you have to substantiate your claim that “she has the means and tools to learn”?

I would suggest that her public speaking and writing together with statistical demographic data make a fairly strong case for diminished cognitive capacity. It’s really quite sad. or as the movie “Dodgeball” put it: “It’s like watching a bunch of retards trying to hump a door knob”

      • I see so many college students just like her: willfully ignorant and yet adamantly certain that they know everything. They are praised and rewarded by their left-wing professors (my colleagues, sigh), and so never even stop to consider that much of what they think they know might, in fact, be either false or more nuanced than they have been led to believe. After a while, they feel so certain that they consider it acceptable – indeed, encouraged – to mock, ridicule, and denigrate people who disagree with them.

Hope is not lost, however: the AOC personality type is common, but not the majority. I have found that most of my students will actually listen and learn if I take the time to lead them there. Boy it’s sometimes a lot of work though…

        • “I have found that most of my students will actually listen and learn if I take the time to lead them there.”

And you haven’t been (figuratively) burned at the stake for heresy? I’m sure there are differences between departments and campuses, but from my experience it’s at best “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

    • You have to excuse Ms Occasional Cortex as she is not all that bright. Her IQ would be approximately room temperature, measured in Celsius. Her pretty little head is so full of Marxist dogma there is no space left for critical thinking.

She is a princess among queens.

  4. She’s from NYC, she’s never *seen* a gun except on a police officer’s hip, and defensive gun uses don’t happen in her city because the 2nd Amendment doesn’t exist there.

It’s difficult to manufacture a person less qualified to speak on the subject, let alone legislate on it.

    • That gives me an idea. Make the big cities independent. They can ignore the Constitution as long as they can’t vote that everyone else does as well.

      • I work in the classified DOD employment sector. Every applicant must be adjudicatied & a NDA must be signed before clearance is granted. I’m sure politicians get special treatment but their case follows exactly the same regulations as everyone else. All of that information is on a strict need to know basis. For example I have access to the servers I administer. The only software I have access to is the operating system. Other programs & data I have no access to nor do I want any. I doubt AOC has much access to anything. I have been in the area when one of our state’s senators visited. The area had to be sanatized of all classified information before they were allowed to enter.

        • “I doubt AOC has much access to anything.”

Yep. That includes functioning brain cells and a mute button.

  5. Hey, AOC, aren’t you college educated but we’re working as a bar tender? What useless degree did you waste daddy’s money on, anyway?

  6. You gotta know the people that voted her in office must be either really uneducated, or really proud of her, which makes them, really UNEDUCATED…!

  7. AOC’s stupidity is not her fault. The fault lies with the voters.

They say that we get the government that we deserve.

The truth is that WE get the government that THEY deserve.

  8. She’s a socialist so she either hears what she wants to hear or simply lies about opposing content. No where in what Crenshaw said was there a suggestion that anybody he would lend a firearm to was unable to pass any check of any kind any damn where. That is a small addition, but major distortion. It’s what Bolsheviks do.

  9. Washington State has I-495 that mandates universal background checks. It addresses loaning a firearm
    “RCW 9.41.113
    (c) A temporary transfer of possession of a firearm if such transfer is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to the person to whom the firearm is transferred if:
    (i) The temporary transfer only lasts as long as immediately necessary to prevent such imminent death or great bodily harm;”

In discussions it came out that should someone felt in danger of being killed loaning a gun to them is acceptable. The proviso is that the person should be banned from having a gun (but noting about doing a background check or transfer.) The discussion usually was about an abused spouse needing protection.

Clearly AOC would take issue with this.

    • When I was a tourist in WA in 2017 all the local ranges and clubs I visited, about 6, would NOT to lend or hire to anyone without background check. I believe it was interpretation by lawyers from the state DA office over stating the law. Even the common practice of here try my new firearm was deemed illegal.

Just another reason to keep government away from guns.

  10. Look at it from AOC’s perspective, most of her friends probably can’t pass a background check. She’s also a nice big target for Dan to shore up his RKBA credentials. Here in America, we still believe in Due Process Dan. You know, that 5th Amendment thing about seizure of property.

  11. Holy Sht…..how craptasticaly scary would it be to lend a gun to someone who you even thought maybe violent or could lose it or get it stolen from him.
That is a level of stress i could not abide by.
A friend lent me his SW Bodyguard to see if that calibre would be a good choice as a first gun and i couldnt wait to get it back to him and have back in his responsibility.

Fast forward 4 months and I now have 3 9mm’s. all of which will stay locked away in my safe untill my illinois CC comes through in 90 years……

    • Stupid Bitch, yes indeed. She thinks we are so stupid that we would loan a gun to someone who might/could use it to shoot US! AOC doesn’t have an I Q, one must have a functioning brain to have an I Q!

      • Please, stop badmouthing my female k-9s they are bitches and that is the only place where it is proper usage. How would you like it if your pet was being associated with this pice of, what ever——–?

  12. The vast bulk of gun owners are law abiding and have no tolerance for criminals. I do not know anyone who is a prohibited person. If I did and that person tried to get a gun from me I’d say no and report them to the police.

If You See Something Say Something!

And Ms. AOC is very confused to imagine that Marxist Socialism can be achieved via some ill defined warm and fuzzy gentler approach.

    • After you reported that guy to the police, they would do nothing. The entire system was designed and intended to fail, justifying a demand for *universal* background checks requiring a registry, which would also be designed to fail (but provide that registry), justifying a demand to confiscate all firearms, using the registry. If anything were to actually WORK, the master plan would collapse, which would be unacceptable. The goal is, and has always been, universal confiscation.

  13. This Squat Squad T*at IS that stupid.
After she looses the next election I bet she can get her bartender job back. The boss would love to have a former congress critter back just for the headlines.
Me? I wouldn’t trust her to make me a drink more difficult than a draft beer.

  14. Why carry the water for Dan “I love me some Red Flag Laws” Crenshaw. The sooner he is out of office the better off we will be. I don’t care if he is a life long welfare queen who lost his eye defending the poppy fields of Afghanistan. My freedom was not in SW Asia or the Middle East.

    • Yep I pointed out Crenshaw was a 2A traitor to a FB “friend” and he went apoplectic. Oh well…and here TTAG makes him some kind of hero. Keep up-John Kerry was in a war too😫(way too EZ to lampoon Occasional-Cortex😋).

  15. It’s almost as though twitter is an awful platform for political discourse. This is also a very mild example of how the “two sides” of the issue of guns are practically speaking different languages. If you’re on the one side, you read Crenshaw’s post and immediately understand his meaning: with the amount of transfers occurring every day, completing and processing a NICS check to simply lend a firearm to a trusted friend is an excessive burden, and would in practice either prevent people from lending guns or lead them to commit an illegal transfer.

On the other side, you make the same assumptions as AOC: private sales or lending of guns for lawful purposes is so rare as to make it practically nonexistent, and in any case Universal Background Checks are like a magic wand that keep the world safe with negligible financial or administrative overhead. This is the problem of the idea of the “conversation about guns.” I could barely have any more of a coherent conversation with a gun control advocate than I could with a traveler from another dimension. We don’t share a common language, much less a common understanding about the nature of the world we live in.

  16. The stupid runs deep, however, it is not isolated to Democrats. The Republicans are often just as uneducated in their comments about various topics.

Remember Feinstein arguing for magazine limits saying that “We have laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than 3 rounds, yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 30 round magazines”….

Better to be silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt….

  17. AOC was never taught to think critically or examine long held beliefs. She is not alone either.

Looking a future consequences of action is beyond her.

Imagine playing chess or billiards against her or her ilk. Probably expects a participation trophy to match her others ones.

  18. Check out her dance video made when she was allegedly in a college… she has a cute ass, that’s about all the good I can come up with about her. I believe she is FAE, from her facial characteristics and wearing her emotions on the outside. As a cardiac medic for 34 years I’ve had interactions with lots of affected kids like her.

  19. Odessa killer was on the no-buy list because of mental illness, but circumvented the background check by buying from a private seller.

    That’s going to help AOC.

  20. I think gun owners should file a class action lawsuit against AOC for the statement that WE are arming criminals. What a dumb-o-cRAT.

  21. I have a friend who thinks she is attractive, he told me he “would like to take her home and screw her brains out” I told him “Someone beat you to it”

  22. AOC is a firebrand with limited worldly education, little experience in life other than to make outlandish claims and proposals which she cannot explain in depth as to purpose, implementation, cost and how it would be funded into the future. As such she serves only to make waves and noise and will be ignored.

  23. Could it be possible to pass a law. that if you “SELL” a gun , the buyer needs to pass a background check.
And have it be legal to “LEND” a gun, with the intention of it being returned.
They pass all kinds of stupid laws.

  24. The “progressives” set us up for this epic display of stupidity 100 years ago when they pushed for the 19th Amendment.

Here we are with ‘progressive’ finishing what they started 100 years ago.

    • So you are saying women do not have the right to vote? When the 19th was passed there were indeed states outlawing the right of a woman to vote.

      • In the old days they used to lock people like me up in institutions permanently and we never got to vote now they just let us wander around loose on the streets and I get to vote for whoever promises me the most free stuff.

  25. AOC is the poster child for why there will never be a reasoned, intelligent conversation between pro-2A citizens and the anti-gunners.

As a side note, blonds have started telling dumb-AOC jokes.

  26. My God if that idiot were any stupider. Anally Orally-Confused, I believe the current statistic is hovering around 7% for criminals that get their firearm through a family member. 7% yeah a big drop in the bucket there lady. Go back to Bar tending or being a Bar Fly whatever it was you were doing.

  27. Hmm, lending a gun to a friend.

Examples. Going to the range and I can’t make it. I’d sure do that. I haven’t loaned a gun to a friend, because most of the ones who I’d loan a gun to for that own way more than I do! Which means they have most of what I have, and bonus guns on top of that. A friend who owns no guns, well that means I am probably TAKING them to teach them (done that a couple of times). That would mean finding an FFL that is open at the time and the closest FFL near me that is open 7 days a week and has reasonable hours (versus maybe being open 1-2 days a week for a few hours) would be more than an hour round trip away from the range I go to (and the ranges most of the friends and neighbors I have go to).

Hunting. Done that. Went with my former next door neighbor. I took my 870 and my .308. He took his .308 and his Garand. First day we humped .308s, next day I wanted to try his Garand and he wanted the 870 because the spot we were hunting was thick as hell. We sure as heck were a couple of miles apart most of the time. See also hunting outfitters. Are there FFLs in the middle of Wyoming? So fly in and find out that your outfitter can’t loan you a rifle for your hunt. Now you have to find a gun shop where you can buy or rent a gun and maybe drive hundreds of miles.

Personal protection. I’ve loaned a gun one time for that. It was an instance where police were looking for a dangerous individual in our rural neighborhood. Searching the neighborhood and local state park. They considered him a danger to himself because of statements he made. That said, he had arrests for drug and gun possession in another state a few years earlier. He was living with his GF and had just been busted for handgun possession without a carry permit and also, you know, as a prohibited person. Out on bail. Police decided to let the public know 36hrs after they started looking for him. Anyway, neighbor didn’t own guns. Terrified. So I dropped a shotgun off with them and showed them how to use it real quick. A little hard to go to a gun store and get a gun at 10 o’clock at night when police decided to let us know (and it isn’t like there were hundreds of police crawling all over a small suburban or urban neighborhood. Its a couple dozen square miles police were searching with maybe 30 or 40 of them over that area. They didn’t end up needing it in the end.

So yeah, I have a problem with UBC when there are no exceptions for loans (or no exceptions beyond family).

  28. ?? What the hell is this Women on !!! My gun stays with me and no one else. I don’t know a single gun owner who lends a firearm to ” Criminals and abusers” . I mean really !!!

  29. The article mentions a woman who borrowed a gun and then makes the ridiculous statement that she could not have bought a gun if there were universals bank ground checks. The example makes no logical sense and implies a falsehood.

AOC makes a very profound statement in regards to lending a gun to a friend if the friend is not vetted first as yes indeed they could and many times would use a lent gun to abuse or even kill a spouse when they should not have had a gun to begin with and would not have gotten one under a universal background check.

Well this is one time the far right have egg all over their faces and now are dancing around the truth or totally avoiding it. All of those victims in the mass murder would probably still be alive today if the U.S. had universal back ground checks because now it is proven he bought the AR 15 in a private sale which would have been illegal under a universal back ground check. Once universal back ground checks are in place in a few short years unregistered and even illegal guns dry up and become very scarce and expensive and hard to find.

I have visited foreign countries and talked about the availability of unregistered guns and most people said they have never even seen one for sale. The unregistered guns that are used in mass murder in foreign countries almost always come from foreign nations that supply them to terrorists and that is an act of war.

    • Wow even I can’t believe I said that AOC made a very profound statement I am going to blame this one on the fentanyl withdrawal hallucinations.
