Press release . . .

A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG) announced that it will host the first-ever Women’s Clays Championship at Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, Kansas, on August 14-15, 2020. AG & AG, which has hosted dozens of large-scale women’s events specializing in defensive training and pistol and multigun competition, is honored to host this historic clay target shoot.

“For the past two years, we have been asked to do for shotgun sports what we have done for action shooting sports,” says Julianna Crowder, Founder of AG & AG. “We are excited about growing the shotgun community and bringing women together from across the country for a fun event.”

The Women’s Clays Championship is a 2-day event comprising sporting clays, 5-stand, and trap, as well as a fun flurry game and warm-up practice. Competitors can opt into a Lewis Class payout for two different sporting clays courses. There will be prizes awarded for the top competitors in each sport, as well as other prizes given by random draw. For those new to the shotgun sports or looking to advance their skillsets, CZ-USA pro staff will be offering clinics prior to the competition.

“We’re proud to be the Title Sponsor of A Girl & A Gun’s Women’s Clays Championship,” says CZ-USA Shotgun Product Manager Dave Miller. “One of my favorite things about AG & AG is the organization’s focus on education. Unlike so many misguided programs, AG & AG provides opportunities for its members to learn and grow in the shooting sports. This clay target shoot is going to be a truly unique experience for all of the participants.”

The shoot is expected to draw more than 100 competitors. Crowder says that AG & AG is responding to the demand for female-only opportunities where competitors can advance their skills. “In addition to the education and event experience, we will also have camaraderie to strengthen the sisterhood of women shooters, motivate them, and continue to build a strong female presence in the world of shotgun sports,” said Crowder.

  1. I’m all for expanding shooting sports, but I will say shooting sports are one of the few sport women are equal to men.

Good luck and have fun ladies.

      • And this young lady is only 13 years old. I can picture her out-shooting a LOT of men, much less 13 year old boys!

        • I realize this and would welcome women and men compete against one another in most shooting sports. I’m confident women like Kimberly Rhode could dominate a mixed gender contest. I’m hoping my own daughter can put scores up to beat the boys this year.

        • Well, now the Griz is ‘insufferable’.

You’re just gonna have to keep on suffering, ‘boog’. Griz is known and respected around here, and you are just a piss-ant troll with all of the imagination of a field of wheat… 🙂

        • This is wrong.

Sixty years ago Leftist hated Blacks, today leftist hate Whites. Either way it’s hate.

If a club, organization, or event is male only, that event is widely denounced, considered to be both wrong, and to be sexist, and is immediately attacked (especially by women) for lacking equality. Therefore if that is true, then flipping the sex does not make a women’s only event right.

How is this equality, how is this equal, when my daughter can compete, but my son can not?

If feminists claim women can do anything a man can do, then why do they always demand special privileges, while at the exact same time demanding men acquiesce, silently and without protest, and to dismantle all organizations that are for men and boys. The Boy Scouts comes immediately to mind (even when there was a Girls Scouts).

          Continued…

        • …continued

Because of this incredibly female centric culture (there is no-one in the U.S. more privileged than white females) we are losing an entire generation of boys and men.

          Boys have fallen behind;

          * At every level of graduation, from Grade School, to High School, to College, men’s rates have fallen far behind womens. This imbalance has been in effect for over 35 years and grows wider every year.

          * The U.N. finds that boys have fallen behind girls in every one
of the largest seventy developed nations.

          * An OECD report, across more than 60 countries, found that girls receive higher marks compared with boys of the same ability. In other words teachers grade boys lower, just for being a boy.

          * For the first time in U.S. history boys will have less education than their fathers.

          Men are considered disposable;

          * since the Korean War, war deaths suffered by men is over 100,000. For women it is fewer than 190.

          * men receive 63% longer sentences on average than women do for committing the exact same crime.

          * men suffer from over 90% of workplace deaths and injuries, and account for over 75% of suicides.

          * Prostate cancer kills at a higher rate than breast cancer, yet breast cancer receives 16.5 times more research funding.

          * The federal government has at least 5 offices of women’s health with over 5 billion in funding, There are currently no offices for men.

          * Men die on average five years sooner and die at greater
numbers from 9 of the 10 leading causes of death.

This Girl & Gun is another form of a huge imbalance against men, and yet many here celebrate this, while simultaneously bashing men, because they believe it will somehow benefit them politically.

We can not say, because this may bring some benefit against leftist gun control schemes, that we now favor a sex based organization. This will only lead to more discrimination, as was noted above. Basing decisions on one’s race or one’s sex is either right or it is wrong. We would be hypo critics to pretend otherwise.

Therefore this needs to be called out for what it really is….Sexist.

        • @redpill. I hope you find a flotation device because you’re staying in the deep end too long. Biological hormones are the main reason men do better in most sports. Hormones don’t matter as much when women and men can use the same tool, equally. But here is why you are wrong with your rant regarding shooting sports.

Fact: There are fewer female competitors at shooting events than men.
Fact: With women being more than 50% of the population we need them to be pro gun. (Mostly because they live longer.)

Like I said, this is good to gather women towards the 2a. Clay shooting is a gateway to gun ownership, hunting, and possibly other shooting sports such as three gun.

        • @ Red Pilled,

You are absolutely right, brother. I am SO tired of modern sexism, where anything that is gynocentric and/or androphobic is acceptable. It’s disgusting. There is already female divisions for shotgunning, and all shooting sports. Why do women need their own event? Let’s have an exclusively male event, and see how that turns out.

Then we have all these loser quislings saying, “women can beat men at shooting, herp-derp!” Yeah there spikes in the graph however the averages are the averages, so nope. Just no. Beta, pussy-beggars disgust me.

      • Hey Jeff the Griz you possess a real winning combination there, you are both arrogant and ignorant. I can see why you have a dedicated “fan”. Your hormone rant has all the knowledge of a 3rd grader.

Women are not equal even when they can use the same “tool”. If they could the first sport women would reach parity in would be billiards (You know Jeffery, pool). Which has not been the case, the top women for decades (that means many years Gritzy) have not matched the top men.

The same is true of the shooting sports, the women’s times are not equal to the men’s, not even close.

  2. Good on ’em! Bust them clays ladies! Don’t let a single one escape alive!

Last thing we need is to add feral clays to the feral hog problem … 🙂

There are some darned fine lady shooters out there. My first hint on this point was in my early 20’s. Us guys were out doing some shooting and one of us convinced our mother to come along. Mom was an outdoorsy sort, loved family tent camping and was very skilled at it. But we’d never seen or heard of Mom ever touching a gun.

Well, she was reluctant but one of us convinced her to try shooting an old .38 Colt Police Positive Special. Mom took a stance, I’d say a classic one handed stance, left hand on hip and right hand straight out holding the gun at eye level, standing sideways to the target about 25 feet away.

Slow and steady Mom put all six shots in the bull at 25 feet, firing double action.

We never got her to touch another gun after that, or to explain where she learned to shoot. Guess Mom just wanted us fellows to know she knew her way around one of them things.

    • “We never got her to touch another gun after that, or to explain where she learned to shoot.”

Some people are naturals at it. Humans, like other animals, are processing vast amounts of data just observing how things move in space around them, and apply that to how they move…
