Preventing teachers from carrying firearms is just one of Joe Biden’s gun control goals. See his other priorities for rolling back Second Amendment rights here.

The idea of arming teachers to prevent school shootings burst into the national conversation after Parkland, when President Trump raised the possibility in listening sessions with grieving parents. Shortly after the 2018 shooting at the Florida high school, he told attendees at the 2018 CPAC that as many as one out of every five teachers should be carrying a gun.

It provoked an uproar. But often lost in the bluster of that moment was the reality that teachers had already been carrying guns in U.S. schools for over 10 years. Trump had just become the policy’s highest-profile advocate yet. The first serious proposals to arm teachers cropped up after the Columbine shooting in 1999, and the first school district to announce such a policy was in Harrod, Texas, in 2008, after Virginia Tech.

The decision to let schools arm teachers is left to state governments. Since the 1990s, 19 states have passed laws and created programs to arm some teachers and other school staff, like principals or superintendents. In 24 states, school boards have the discretion to authorize anyone of their choosing to carry a gun on campus. A 2019 investigation by VICE News found that in the year after Parkland, the number of school districts arming their teachers more than doubled, from around 215 school districts to nearly 500, encompassing hundreds of thousands of students.

President-elect Joe Biden has said he strongly opposes arming teachers, but because it’s up to state legislatures—which stayed resoundingly Republican this election, including in armed-teacher states like Florida, Texas, Ohio, Missouri, and Utah—it’s a policy that may be here to stay.

    • …whether TPTB know what’s already under our shirts, or not…

Their approval doesn’t change the reality of what’s already out there, and has been for some time. Better judged by twelve than carried by six, and all that.

  1. Biden is currently just some guy who hasn’t won an election. Those of you who believe otherwise probably have flat noses from sitting too close to your tv.

      • Karl Rove has been FOS for decades. Many of us watched the vote tallies suddenly spike for Biden at 4am last Wednesday with not a single vote for anyone else. Toootally not suspicious at all. None of the hokey explanations have been logical at all.

    • I really don’t take a side in the “who won the election” thing because I don’t know if there was widespread fraud or if it actually changed the outcome. I think both are, at this point, open questions. There are certainly some parts of this that are suspicious but such allegations must be proven, which they have not been at this time. Personally I like facts, proven facts.

That said; I have stated before that I believe that “the list” is about intimidating those who might to go bat for Trump in court or might render the judicial opinions on those arguments. This now seems to be the case.

The fact that Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP has withdrawn from a case in PA, and that the Left is currently giddily posting screengrabs of their harassing/threatening emails to individual employees of PWM&A all over Twitter certainly suggests that “the list” had the effect I suspect it was designed to have.

If anonymously written emails showing up in the inbox of individual employees with lines like “PA voted. Legally. It’s over. You don’t have to come down on the wrong side of history. And believe me, it won’t be kind”. isn’t a veiled threat to that employee in your mind then you might be eating too many paint chips.

It’s impossible to exercise your legal rights in court if you do not have access to competent counsel. It would seem that regardless of how you feel about the case itself it is, at this point, basically inarguable that Trump is being denied competent counsel through a campaign of targeted intimidation. Even if that counsel is replaced it’s still costing Trump time which is, at this point, in limited supply.

Overall, and in the context of other events stretching back to the Spring, this would seem to lend credence to the theory that there was actual widespread fraud in PA and that The Lincoln Project is involved in a coverup. If they had nothing to fear they wouldn’t support and engage in targeted harassment of individual employees of that specific law firm and do so in direct reference to Trump. You don’t coverup, or attempt a coverup of, crimes you don’t know about or which didn’t happen.

      • S9, I know you’re capable of parsing English language sentences better than that.

“You don’t have to come down on the wrong side of history. And believe me, it won’t be kind”.

The writer is opining that history will not be kind to those who continue to support the Trump delusion.

I must say, that sentence is much less threatening than hundreds of armed people showing up at the state house shouting “lock her up!”.

        • Quite clearly you’re correct.

And equally clearly; some bruisers coming into your shop and saying “Sure is a nice business you have here, it would be a shame if something happened to it” is just a friendly reminder to call your insurance agent.

      • In other news:

“The top cybersecurity agency inside the Department of Homeland Security has repeatedly rebuked claims made by President Donald Trump and his campaign of widespread voter fraud inside the 2020 election, and a source with knowledge of the situation said its director now expects to be fired.

“There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised,” the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said in a statement released Thursday.

CISA is responsible for securing the 2020 elections and has been exposing what it calls election-related “rumors” on its website — including those spread by Trump and his allies.”

        • Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

It’s not a hard concept, but then you demonstrate in your post above this one that you fail to grasp how proper nouns function… so maybe it’s not a surprise that relatively basic logic eludes you.

        • “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.”

          ?

Trump has made several claims of fraud, they were investigated by the cyber security arm of Trump’s DHS and found to be unsubstantiated.

Just like judges have dismissed trumps other suits, failure to produce evidence means the plaintiff has not met their burden of proving their claim, therefore no fraud.

Your statement about absence of evidence not being evidence of absence is nonsensical and would turn 3000 years of jurisprudence on its head.

I mean really, think about it. There’s no evidence that you’re a child molester but that doesn’t mean you’re not a child molester. Good Lord, I can’t believe it, you’re so nasty, a child molester!
You’re as bad as that Dennis Hastert.

        • Also in PA, they ruled that they are to keep separate all mail in ballots received after 8pm EST, due to the fact that they are invalid regardless of however they feel about it because the state legislature didn’t amend the laws allowing any votes to be valid past election day. Notwithstanding absentee ballots which are different from mail-in ballots and operate under completely different rules.

        • I know that this is late in coming re: fraud and irregularities, The reporting agency did report it found no fraud or irregularities vis a vis RUSSIA COLLUSION!!! They didn’t even look for other areas of fraud only from Russia. Which goes to the point, ask the right questions and you will get the desired result. If you don’t look for problems where they might occur, you won’t find any.

      • I wouldn’t read this as the Lincoln Project being involved in a coverup. This is just them making up for their massive failure in flipping certain senate seats. Every race that they were heavily involved in stayed republican. This is the Lincoln Project doing their dance and holding out their hat for more money from the left. They’ll get some notoriety out of this, so the gravy train can keep going for awhile.

  2. Joe will do whatever the teachers union leadership tells him. That won’t include arming teachers because Marxists run the union.

Besides , school shootings are used to justify disarmament. The last thing they want is an armed person saving others.

    • What kind of parent names a male child ‘Robinette’?

At least ‘Corn Pop’s mother gave her kid a male name…

        • While I’m no fan of s l o w Joe he has no control over who owned who before he was spawned…curiously Kamaltoe’s ancestors owned slaves😏 The party of Robert Byrd😕

        • And as commanding general of the Free Shit Army, Reparation H thinks her heritage (upper caste Indian and slave owning Jamaican) entitles her to “reparations” from the US Treasury.

        • “ Kamaltoe’s ancestors owned slaves”

The twists and pretzel logic you folks use is hilarious.

Yes, like many young black slave girls, some of Kamala Harris’ ancestors were raped by white slave masters. Just like there are many black African Americans with Thomas Jefferson the slave owner as an ancestor.

And now, the descendent of some of these slaves has become the Vice President of the United States of America.

Yes, you folks now have a black and brown woman as the number two Big Boss Lady.

          Ain’t that grand!

And again, a great big thank you to Donald Trump and Republicans for greatly expanding the power of the executive branch!

        • And, heeer’s Miner, with the latest lies about Reparation H.

When it comes to Reparation, I trust her father’s word more than I trust Miner’s.

    • Besides, standing in the blood of innocents while lecturing those who were not guilty about their complicity is his style, just like every Marxist always! C’mon man!

  3. biden hasn’t won yet. It will be Dec. 14th at the soonest before we know the outcome of all this shit. Even if Trump isn’t the winner I hope some of the cheaters see some form of retribution for their unlawful acts. Prison time for some felonies would be nice.

    • Bingo. That’s the key part to all of this. People who have been convicted of election crimes need to go to prison and serve hard, uncomfortable time. Only way to discourage future bad behavior is to implement consequences that will…you know…actually discourage it.

Works when raising children. Same principle works when overgrown children raise hell.

      • Even a half wit mall lawyer will tell you that Trump does not have either the law, or the facts, on his side. Ralph, you’re up 🤣🤡…

        • Chewballs your full of shit. Real laws real lawyers, even though most lawyers are scumbags, too bad most of the ag’s of these states are as corrupt as the dim politicians.

        • Then why are all the legal challenges from President Trump’s legal team getting bounced out of court instantly? Seriously. Could it be that OAN et al are just making stuff up to get eyes on their ‘news’ stories? Yes, yes it could…

        • Can’t tell you why I’m not a scumbag er lawyer. But even the average person can see there some irregularities in the counting.

        • You wonder why things are being turned away from the courts? The fact that you even have to ask that shows how naive you are. It’s almost like there is corruption going on in the deep state… fucking moron.

        • Wow Monty, you mean the deep state extends to state courts in Pennsylvania and Michigan?

I had no idea it was so widespread!

Do you think they are in league with the county medical examiners all over the United States, all 3000 of them who are in on the COVID-19 death hoax?

          That is some conspiracy…

        • Yes. Miner the deep state does extend into state courts and country and city governments also. It’s quite obvious to us sane people but assholes like you agree with everything the left says and does because you chugged the koolaid and want more.

        • “the deep state does extend into state courts and country and city governments also”

Wow, your conspiracy must involve hundreds of thousands of people, amazing!

Are they all pedophiles like republican speaker of the house Dennis Hastert?

        • So you got your answer… and then you try insulting more… grow the fuck up dude. Take your mental deficiencies to reddit. You wonder why you are met the way you are here? Look in the fucking mirror. BTW, dems are YUGE pedo’s…. like Hollywood yuge. Like Epstein yuge.

    • “I hope some of the cheaters see some form of retribution for their unlawful acts. Prison time for some felonies would be nice.”

I must tell you, I completely agree!
I think there’s already a line of federal prosecutors from SDNY, as well as a panoply of state prosecutors just waiting with indictments.

On inauguration day 2021, there will be two parades.

One will be Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris arriving with their entourage to take the reins of power in Washington DC.

The other will be a phalanx of state and federal prosecutors wanting a word with Donald Trump, private citizen.

        • No, we just had an election.

Then apparently someone declared lawfare on several state election officers, attorney generals and governors.

So far, their attack has fallen flat and provided much entertainment to discerning observers.

        • attack… lol. When we don’t concede and push you racist slave owning assholes out of the union again, you will know the meaning of attack.

        • Barack Hussein Obama has committed no crimes, but he has sold millions of dollars worth of books and this new and looks like it’ll make him even richer.

          Do you have your copy?

        • *has not been convicted of any crimes.

Committing and convicted are two very different things. I have not been convicted either. So I am innocent, right? lol. Fuck around and find out Miner.

  4. All this talk about “arming” teachers…many many teachers have guns and carry permits (if required in their states) and so are already armed UNTIL they get to work and get disarmed. How about we stop DISARMING teachers who have already armed themselves??

    • Exactly right. This isn’t about “arming teachers,” it’s about getting government to quit preventing teachers from exercising the rights they already have.

  5. How many kids have been killed because of lobotomy joe? He needs to be held accountable for the crimes against society he orchestrated!

    • Right wingers: ‘Slow Joe is an enfeebled mind corpse who drools all over himself, how sad.’

Also right wingers: ‘JoSePh R. BiDeN is the head of a multinational crime family and he has ‘orchestrated’ crimes against society!’

      • What, you are expecting a rational and consistent legal and intellectual evaluation of the situation from the conservative Republicans on this forum?

Do what Donald Trump does, a double shot of bleach and a UV light up your anus and suddenly all this will make sense in a twisted sort of way.

        • I thought I already told you to GET LOST YOU LITTLE MOUTH BREATHER!!!!
          MINER “THE H O M O 69er”…

      • I’m wondering why someone as stupid as chewCOCKSa even bothers to post such drivel….
What a mommas little bich boy…..

  6. Late breaking news:

“Two judges in Pennsylvania on Friday tossed a half dozen court cases the Trump campaign had brought to invalidate thousands of votes around Philadelphia, where voters carried President-elect Joe Biden to a clear win in the battleground state.

In total, the Trump campaign had sought to throw out almost 9,000 absentee ballots because their outer envelopes lack names, dates or addresses or some combination of the three that voters could have filled out.

In five related cases, Judge James Crumlish of Philadelphia County’s Court of Common Pleas said the Trump campaign couldn’t invalidate 8,329 ballots it alleged were improper. The judge ruled those ballots should be processed and counted.

In another case, the President’s campaign sought for the Montgomery County Board of Elections to throw out 592 mail-in ballots where voters hadn’t filled out their addresses on the outside envelopes. Those ballots will be counted, the second judge, Richard Haaz of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, ruled on Friday.
Haaz found that state law didn’t require voters to fill out the address sections on the envelopes, and the instructions on the ballots didn’t tell voters they must fill them out.
“Voters should not be disenfranchised by reasonably relying upon voting instructions provided by election officials,” Haaz wrote.”

  7. Makes perfect sense. You prevent teachers from protecting students and creating a safety zone by the mere threat of their armed presence and when some whack-job shoots up the school, then come the bills to ban XX and high capacity Tootsie Rolls and whatever horse-shit they can think up that sheeple will swallow.
***After all, it’s common sense *** God it makes me want to puke when I write that.

  8. So, using the leftist reasoning, I must conclude that Biden wants to make it illegal to protect children from people who wished to shoot them at school and, therefore, supports school shootings.

News flash….Biden hates children and wants them shot in school!

  9. More good news for democracy:

“Sixteen federal prosecutors tapped by leadership at the Justice Department to monitor voting in last week’s presidential election have sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr making clear that they have seen no evidence to substantiate claims that voting tallies have been marred by widespread fraud or other ballot issues, two sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

In their letter, the federal prosecutors — career assistant U.S. attorneys from more than a dozen states across the country — called for Barr to rescind a memorandum he sent earlier this week telling Justice Department attorneys to launch election-related investigations if they suspect significant irregularities, the sources said.”

  10. It must be at least 30,000. I’ve had the same account for 13 years and GMail won’t even tell me the real count anymore.

Number of appointments/meetings on your calendar this week? 48. I wish I hadn’t counted.

How do you run meetings? I try to establish a clear objective and shared context as quickly as possible. I attend a lot of review meetings where I need to quickly get up to speed on a plan or project, and in those cases I tend to try to move quickly through topics to find the things I don’t understand and learn more so I can give useful feedback.

In planning meetings, I try to keep things grounded in high-level patterns of discussion — dependencies, tradeoffs, estimates, priorities — to avoid getting too deep into specifics.
