When you’re choosing your carry gun – and your pocket dump in general – keep in mind that outsiders will be taking a close, skeptical look. Highly customized carry guns are a good way to end up paying your lawyer more money to defend your choices (as Mas Ayoob says, just add a zero to the check you write them).
Consider keeping your self-defense guns as close to factory as possible. Changes like night sights and extended base pads make sense but overhauling the entire gun and installing an ultra-light trigger? That’s another story. There’s more, but you get the idea.
Do you keep your carry guns factory or have you added numerous aftermarket parts?
